Sheriff’s Office
–A Center Road, Knox Township resident reported at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday that his neighbor was shooting his firearm at all hours of the night. He requested a report on file per his attorney.
— A welfare check was requested at 9:21 p.m. Wednesday on Campbell Road, Hanover Township on two juveniles who were being yelled at by their grandfather, who was allegedly intoxicated. A deputy observed the juveniles, who were fine. Their mother and grandparents were also present. The report said the grandfather was yelling at one of the juveniles due to getting in trouble at school.
— A Columbiana man was served with a protection order out of Columbiana County Common Pleas Court at 9:03 p.m. Tuesday in Knox Township.
— A Salem Township woman was served with a protection order out of Arizona at 8:27 p.m. Tuesday in Salem Township.
— A person on Macklin Road, Unity Township reported at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday they were having mental health issues, saying it has been going on for years and they believed someone intentionally caused them to have mental health issues.
— A man from Speidel Road, Hanover Township spoke with a deputy on station at 6:31 a.m. Tuesday regarding an issue with a person he allowed to live at his residence. He wanted information on what to do to evict the person. Information was provided for eviction along with how to file for a protection order.
— A burglary report was taken at 9:45 p.m. Saturday from a residence on Forbes Road, Madison Township. Multiple items were reported taken from inside the residence.
— A deputy was dispatched at 4:35 a.m. Saturday to a single-vehicle crash on Hazel Run Road at Haiti Road, Salineville. The vehicle was a motorcycle and the rider was not on scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived and completed the investigation, with the deputy standing by for assistance.
— A woman on Main Street, Leetonia reported at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday that a suspicious person was getting buckets of water from the Little Beaver Creek in the 800 block of Lisbon Road, Salem Township. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.
— A deputy returned a call received at 2:23 p.m. Monday regarding menacing at a property on state Route 45, Center Township. The deputy spoke with the person and advised them how to proceed.
— A deputy attempted to return a call received at 2:14 p.m. Monday regarding menacing on Brookfield Street, Center Township, leaving three voicemails for the caller, who did not call the deputy back.
— Deputies were dispatched at 4:59 p.m. Saturday to Allendale Avenue, New Waterford, for an unknown person that took a bunch of pills. Columbiana EMS transported the person to a hospital in Mahoning County.
— A woman on Sunset Drive, Yellow Creek Township, reported at 3:56 p.m. Saturday that she is hearing information that unknown people are going to come to her property and damage anything they can.
— A deputy was dispatched at 12:59 p.m. Saturday to Steubenville Pike Road, Washington Township, for a vehicle fire involving a motorhome bus. Highlandtown Fire Department was on scene.
Lisbon
— A village man spoke with police at 10:58 p.m. Feb. 18 by phone in regards to a fraud case. He advised that he is going through a divorce for flood damage, and that the insurance company issued the check that his ex-wife forged his signature on, deposited and withdrew the proceeds.
— A female filed a complaint at 12:48 p.m. Feb. 17 regarding construction going on at the corner of Chestnut and Beaver streets and how it was allegedly impeding the view from traffic. Officers said they would look into it.
— Police responded shortly after midnight Feb. 17 to a car fire on Saltwell near North Market. The fire department extinguished the blaze. All occupants were out safely.
— An officer responded at 10:07 p.m. Feb. 21 to Continuing Healthcare in Lisbon for an elderly combative patient.
Leetonia
— An adult male was reported at 7:40 p.m. Feb. 21 by an anonymous complainant as he had been driving in the 300 block of Columbia Street at late hours, allegedly burning his tires out front of his ex-girlfriend’s house. Upon contact with him via phone, he was advised to stop it.
— Police performed a welfare check at 6:13 p.m. Feb. 23 in the first block of Coal Alley, where a neighbor reported hearing a child screaming for more than an hour. Upon contact after finding the child hiding in the bathroom, he admitted that he didn’t know who was at the door and his mother was just leaving Walmart. This report was forwarded to Children’s Services.
Salem
–Officers responded to the 100 block of North Broadway Avenue at 3:27 a.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person wandering around a business parking lot. Officers identified the man and advised him to move along.
–Officers responded to the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 2:42 a.m. Thursday for a reported theft. The caller advised that a man may have taken his cell phone. Officers spoke with the man and the caller’s phone was located and returned to the owner, who did not want to pursue charges.
–Officers responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive at 1:30 a.m. Thursday for a reported noise complaint. The music was located, and the resident turned the music off for the night.
–Officers transported a woman to her home in the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:56 a.m. Thursday.
–Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised of hearing screaming coming from the woods behind the business. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the source of the complaint.
–Officers responded to the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke to the person in question who was later transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
–Officers responded to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard at 7:31 p.m. Wednesday for a reported 911 hang-up call. The caller advised they had fallen but were able to get back to their feet on their own and denied medical attention.
–Phylis Wright, New Waterford, was cited for failure to yield after their eastbound vehicle on East State Street was struck by a vehicle driven westbound by Cody Little, Salem, while attempting to turn onto Continental Drive at 3:57 p.m. Wednesday. Wright’s vehicle was towed from the scene; no injuries were reported.
–Officers on patrol in the 600 block of East Fifth Street at 3:06 p.m. Thursday observed a possible water line break. The water department was contacted and advised of the situation.
–Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Sixth Street at 3:02 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised there was a group of juveniles yelling at each other and possibly getting ready to fight. Officers checked the area but did not find anyone.
–Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 12:54 p.m. Thursday for a report of possible theft. Officers advised the caller of their options.
–Officers spoke to a person by phone at 12:50 p.m. Thursday for a reported theft. The caller advised that a resident had reported an unauthorized charge on her bank card, and that the resident did not want to speak with officers.
— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 2:04 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a possible dispute. The caller advised that yelling was heard from a neighbor’s residence. Officers did not observe any yelling when they arrived, and officers spoke with the residents who stated there was no yelling.
— Officers spoke with a woman at the police department at 12:22 p.m. Tuesday regarding fingerprints requested by the courts and the paperwork was completed.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of East Seventh Street at 11:41 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. Officers and the fire department entered the residence but did not locate anyone inside. The caller advised he would check with his other relatives.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of Morris Avenue at 8:58 a.m. Tuesday for a report of two illegally parked vehicles on the roadway. Officers spoke with the owner and the vehicles were moved.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:37 p.m. Monday for a report of trespassing. The caller advised that a person had been causing issues at the business a few days prior and wanted them trespassed. The business also gave officers a debit card belonging to the person.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:25 p.m. Monday for a reported person to be removed. The person was criminally trespassed and given a disorderly conduct warning.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 7:26 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that when their husband returned home, they threatened her and left the residence when she began calling police. While officers were present, the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Officer arrived to serve the husband with a protection which was recently filed by the caller. Officers advised that the incident would be documented.
— Officers on patrol in the area of Vine Avenue and East Third Street at 7:19 p.m. Monday observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. K-9 Fero was deployed during a traffic stop and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor coming from the vehicle. The driver was issued a written warning.
— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 6:43 p.m. Monday for a report of dogs left inside a vehicle. Officers checked the parking lot and found that the vehicle had left prior to the officers’ arrival.
— Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 6:04 p.m. Monday for a report of destroyed property. The caller advised that a flag was being flown and it was ripped. The caller offered to take the flag down and replace it with a new one. Everything checked okay.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Aetna Street at 3:26 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the caller, who advised she had accidentally called 911, but everything was fine.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:33 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the man and did not observe any emergencies. The man advised that he did not hear his phone and would contact the caller.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 2:09 p.m. Monday for a reported dispute at a local nursing home. The facility reported that two residents got into a verbal altercation that resulted in a threat being made, and that while the residents were separated, they needed to have a police report filed. The caller was provided with a report number.
— Officers on patrol in the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 12:11 p.m. Monday for a reported abandoned vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and tagged it with a 48-hour tow ticket.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:26 a.m. Monday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that they couldn’t find their phone inside the residence. Officers collected the information.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 10:28 a.m. Monday for a wellness check on a woman in a nursing facility. Officers spoke with the woman who advised that staff was mean to her and would not help her, but that they had helped her when she told them she had called police. Officers advised her to call if they needed anything in the future.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of West State Street at 10:06 a.m. Monday for a report of menacing. The caller advised that a third party had advised him that a man had made the threats toward the caller. Officers obtained all information needed, and the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to the area of state Route 45 and U.S. Route 62 at 4:41 p.m. Thursday for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident with injuries. When the officers arrived, the Ohio State Highway Patrol was handling the crash, and both vehicles involved were towed from the scene. Officers stood by for traffic control until the roadway was clear.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Allen Road at 3:31 p.m. Thursday for a report of tractor trailer that attempted to turn around and got stuck in the yard to the property. Photos were taken, and the driver, whose name was not listed, was cited for reasonable control. Biddle’s Towing responded and towed the trailer from the property.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 12:18 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers found there to be nobody at the residence.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 11:49 a.m. Thursday about a report of fraud. The caller advised that they contacted their bank about two suspicious charges of $1,000. The caller advised that the charges were unauthorized and was told that she needed to file a police report.
East Palestine
— A West Martin Street resident reported at 3:44 p.m. Feb. 20 that a male came to his house attempting to sell a product, and made threats to him when he was not receptive.
— A female reported that a suspicious person possibly vandalized her vehicle sometime before 4:07 p.m. Feb. 21 in the 200 block of Glenmoor.
— Candace Desanzo, of North Market Street, was cited at 4:26 p.m. Feb. 23 for open burning.
— A male subject reported at 6:06 p.m. Feb. 23 that his ex-girlfriend was harassing him but was unavailable to provide police contact information for her to give a cease and desist notification.
East Liverpool
— An officer went to Berndines Tavern on Feb. 11 to follow up on an assault that happened there the night before.
— Officers searched the area around Woodland Hills Apartments on Feb. 12 for a person reported to be causing a disturbance.
— Amber Bennett was issued a citation with a court date for a stop sign violation during a Feb. 12 traffic stop on West Fifth Street.
— A female who was reported to be sitting in her car for some time on Harding Avenue on Feb. 12 told the officer she was there because her son was dropping off a Valentines Day gift and everything was fine.
— Officers found everything to be secure at a Crawford Avenue residence after investigating a motion alarm at the residence on Feb. 12.
— Charles Davis Jr was issued a citation and court date for failure to stop at a stop sign during a Feb. 12 traffic stop on West Fifth Street.
— A female called the police department on Feb. 12 to report a theft from two properties she owns on St. George Street.
— Frank Allen Ciubbs Charles Davis Jr was issued a citation and court date for failure to stop at a stop sign during a Feb. 12 traffic stop on West Fifth Street.
— Officers do not suspect foul play of a male with medical issues found deceased on Feb. 13 at an Allison Avenue residence. East Liverpool Fire and EMS responded and contacted the doctor and coroner’s officer. The male was removed by Nixon Funeral Home.
— A female called the police department on Feb. 13 to report being harassed by her ex-boyfriend’s sister via text messaging. She told officers she blocked the number and officers advised since she blocked the number if she reaches out to her again by social media she could be charged with telecommunications harassment.
— Officers documented a reported theft of an Amazon package from a Market Street apartment on Feb. 13.
— An officer conducting random plate checks on West Fifth Street found a vehicle that was showing the registered owner was suspended. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found the driver to have a valid license and not be the registered owner of the vehicle.
— Officers told a juvenile walking a small dog on the roadway on St. Clair Avenue on Feb. 13 to walk on the sidewalk.
— An officer spoke with a male at a Michigan Avenue residence during a disturbance investigation on Feb. 13 and was told by the male he had a verbal argument with his nephew who had already left.
— Officers checking a Minerva Street residence on Feb. 13 for a report of possible trespassers found the residence to be boarded up.
