Perry Township

— Officers responded to the area of Depot Road near Stewart Road at 7:38 p.m. Saturday for a report of vehicles racing. No violations were observed, and officers stood by in the area for some time.

— Officers responded with the fire department to state Route 14 near a car dealership. Officers checked the area and found the vehicle on Benton Road. No injuries were reported, and the Goshen Township Police Department was notified. Officers assisted with traffic control as needed.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Van Buren Avenue at 12:45 p.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised officers that they had several items missing from their garage and believes they were taken within the last two weeks. There was also damage done to the caller’s garage door, which appeared to have been done from the inside of the garage.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 6:30 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the woman, who advised that she was alright, and advised her to contact her mother.

— Officers on patrol in the 400 block of West Pidgeon Road at 5:09 p.m. Thursday for a report of a vehicle stuck in the driveway that was partially in the roadway. Officers were able to assist in pushing the vehicle off the roadway and into the driveway.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Heritage Lane at 4:25 p.m. Thursday to assist an elderly person who had fallen and was unable to get up. Officers were able to assist the woman inside her residence, and she denied any injury or medical attention.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Shamrock Arbor Drive at 3:20 p.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile complaint. The caller advised that their son had left home earlier and the day and had not returned, and that they had turned the location off on their phone. Officers contacted the Smith Township Police Department to check the area, and the juvenile was ultimately located and returned home.

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 9 at 4:22 a.m. Thursday for a reported vehicle on the road. Officers located the vehicle, but the driver could not be located. Due to the vehicle’s location it was towed for the safety of other drivers.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 28 for a report of fraud. The caller advised that he received a bill from Verizon for an account he never opened and was sent to collections. The man saw the account on his credit report and had already flagged it as fraud and needed a police report.

— Joshua Hill, 20, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his vehicle struck the rear of a vehicle driven by William Seifert, 45, Salem at 4:24 p.m. Jan. 28. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue at 11:33 p.m. Jan. 27 for a reported vehicle in the roadway. Officers located the vehicle and were unable to find the driver. The vehicle was towed.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Maryland Avenue at 12:42 p.m. Jan. 26 for a report of property damage. Officers spoke with the homeowner and the road department and found that the property owner was blaming the road department for knocking over and breaking his mailbox. There was no evidence that a plow truck created the damage.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 9:42 p.m. Monday for a reported reckless driver. Officers checked the area and located the vehicle, and spoke with the driver. The driver advised they were coming home from the gym and admitted that at one point they had been on their phone to change music. They were advised not to do so again.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Buckeye Avenue at 9:07 p.m. Monday for a reported assault. The caller advised that a person had torn his shirt off, leaving what appeared to be nail scratches on his chest, and then bit them on the shoulder. The person in question had left prior to officers’ arrival, and officers advised them to come to the police department tomorrow to fill out a statement due to them being intoxicated. The caller denied medical attention.

— Officers responded to the area of East State Street at 9:41 p.m. Monday for a reported reckless driver. Officers located the vehicle and did not observe any violations for several blocks.

— While checking for a person with an active warrant in the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, officers located an additional wanted person and felony drugs being used while speaking with the person. The wanted person attempted to hide, and both people with active warrants, James Lippiatt Jr., 36, Salem, and Melissa Brink, 45, Salem, were ordered out of the house and arrested. While removing others from the residence, Dillon Corfee, 25, Austintown, was arrested and charged with obstructing official business and drug paraphernalia. Once Corfee was removed a Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force agent gained consent from the resident, and the items in plain view and other dangerous drugs from the residence were recovered without incident.

— Officers responded to the 2400 block of East State Street at 6:37 p.m. Tuesday for a reported reckless officer and observed a similar vehicle committing a traffic violation. Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver was advised of the complaint and the violation. The driver advised they would not drive in that manner anymore and was given a verbal warning for the violation.

— Officers responded to the area of Washington Avenue and Oak Street at 6:14 p.m. Tuesday to attempt to locate a person with an outstanding warrant. Officers spoke with a family member, who advised that he was not there and would not allow officers inside the check.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Superior Avenue at 4:51 p.m. Tuesday for a reported medical call. Officers secured the scene while medical personnel provided aid. The injured person was then transported by EMT.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department about a situation involving his vehicle at 1:51 p.m. Tuesday. The man advised that he had allowed someone to use his vehicle approximately two years ago, and that they had never returned it. Officers provided them with the options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eighth Street at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday for a report of fraud. The caller advised that an unknown person opened a credit card in their name and had made two purchases totaling $417.73. The credit card company had already canceled the card, but the caller needed a report on file.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of George Street at 12:38 p.m. Tuesday to assist the Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force with a search warrant. K-9 Chaz stood by and conducted a narcotics search.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that there were two people in the parking lot that refused to leave. When officers arrived, those in question had left.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 10 a.m. Tuesday for a wellness check. The caller advised that while they were at work, they received unusual text messages from their juvenile son. Officers spoke with the juvenile and their son, and the caller requested the son to be transported to the hospital.

— Officers responded to the area of Morris Avenue and Mound Street at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday for a reported parking complaint. Officers spoke with the owner of one vehicle who said they would move it. A red warning tag was placed on another due to being unable to locate the owner.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Butcher Road at 11:27 p.m. Monday for a reported 911 hang-up call. Officers checked the area where the call pinged from and surrounding locations. Everything appeared to be okay. Officers were unable to locate anything unusual.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 7:54 p.m. Monday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised their son was acting erratically and possibly under the influence of something. Officers spoke with the juvenile who admitted to using medication which was not prescribed to him. First responded and EMT responded and the juvenile was transported to the hospital for treatment.

–Officers on patrol in the 800 block of Sunset Boulevard at 11:41 p.m. Thursday located three juveniles in the park. Everything checked okay, and an adult was advised inside the community center.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of East Third Street at 11:32 p.m. Thursday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with all parties involved, and everything checked okay.

–Officers responded to the 1800 block of Pearce Circle at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the homeowner who found it to be accidental.

–Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday for a report of found narcotics. Officers retrieved a baggy that contained what appeared to be illegal narcotics and brought it back to the police department where it was later turned over to a Columbiana County Drug Enforcement Task Force Agent for proper disposal.

–Officers responded to the 1200 block of Buckeye Avenue at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a woman putting a juvenile in the front seat of a vehicle without a child seat. Officers were able to identify the vehicle and responded to the driver’s residence where they denied allowing the juvenile to ride in the front seat. Officers also checked the vehicle and located two car seats in the back seat.

–Officers responded to the area of South Lincoln Avenue at 1 p.m. Wednesday to check for a wanted person. Officers were unable to locate them.

–Officers responded to the 800 block of Adams Avenue at 12:53 p.m. Wednesday for a reported solicitor going door to door. Officers observed a man getting into his vehicle and driving away and conducted a traffic stop. Officers advised the man that soliciting was not permitted in the city and to speak with the zoning officer for further information.

–Officers responded to the 300 block of West Ninth Street at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday for a reported verbal dispute. The caller advised that a man and woman were arguing. Officers spoke with both parties, who advised that they had a verbal argument and the female half was leaving for the day.

East Liverpool

— An officer checked the area of Rubicon and Vernia streets on Jan. 19 for a dirt bike they received a complaint on.

— A driver was issued a verbal warning for going left of center during a Jan. 19 traffic stop on state Route 11 after an officer observed her swerve into the other lane.

— A couple told officers they had been verbally fighting but nothing physical occurred after officers responded on Jan. 19 to a third-party call reporting a domestic violence situation at a Wilbert Avenue residence. Officers did not observe any signs of physical assault or distress with the female.

— Kyle Fenton, 44, address not provided, was taken into custody on Jan. 19 for violating a no contact order after the complainant showed officers video of Fenton parking directly across the street from his Globe Street residence. The caller also said Fenton threatened him.

— An officer filed a report on Jan. 19 after a female contacting the officer saying that the male she has a protection order against would not let the child they share contact her. The officer asked what was in their custody plan and she said there is one filed through Mahoning County, but she is on house arrest from the male and could not come to the station to get a report.

— Antoine Moman Jr., was issued a citation for license plate obstruction following a Jan. 19 traffic stop on state Route 39.

— An officer assisted the fire department after arriving on the scene of a Jan. 19 house fire on First Avenue.

— Officers investigating a domestic violence complaint at an East 8th Street residence on Jan. 20 spoke to two females involved who both said they were only having a verbal argument over not enough affection being shown. Officers did not observe physical marks and were told there were no threats.

— Officers told a male who was reported to be sleeping in the community room at Fawcett Apartments that he would need to leave the building so he wouldn’t get trespassed by CMHA management. The male said he was freezing and just wanted to get warm.

— Officers who received a call about a female wanting to potentially harm herself on Jan. 19 spoke with the female at a Virginia Avenue residence where she told the officer that she was not having self-harm thoughts just an anxiety attack. The officer contacted Northstar who transported her to the hospital.

— Officers checked residences on Princeton Street on Jan. 20 after residents reported someone trying to kick in their backdoor. Officers did not observe footprints in the resident’s yard or tracks from any vehicles in the alley toward the rear of the house.

— An officer responding to a noise complaint on Etruria Street on Jan. 20 found loud music to be coming from a minivan. The officer talked with the owner who was sitting in the van and was told by the owner he was just trying to get his sound system working correctly, but he would go inside for the time being.

— A driver was issued a verbal warning for no visible registration following a Jan. 20 traffic stop on Market Street.

— An officer sat stationary on state Route 7 on Jan. 20 to watch for a vehicle the highway patrol said had a reckless driver and no visible plate coming from Jefferson County.

— An officer found a West 6th Street building to be secure after investigating an alarm from the location on Jan. 20.

St. Clair Township

— Officers checked the vehicle reported as suspicious at an East Liverpool Road business on Jan. 26 after receiving a call about it as employees were trying to lock up. The officer ran the plate then contacted the owner of the vehicle who said it had broken down and he would have it towed in the morning.

— An officer checked for a vehicle reported to be in the roadway on Violet Place on Jan. 26 and found two vehicles parked to the outer edge of the roadway leaving the road very passable by the minimal traffic on that street.

— Officers conducted a welfare check on Jan. 26 at Coolidge Street residence after the postmaster called in reporting that the mail was piling up. The officer found the resident, an elderly female to be okay, just unable to get to her mailbox due to snow piling up. At her request, the officer got the mail from her box and handed it to her.

— Officers checked an area of East Liverpool Road for a female reported to be walking on the road on Jan. 29.

— Officers were told by a Walmart employee that everything was okay after arriving at the store to investigate an alarm on Jan. 29.

— Officers investigating a vehicle parked in the roadway on Old Fredericktown on Jan. 29, made contact with the owner with whom they had to communicate with through phone language interpreting and found the vehicle had broken down and he had obtained the permission from a resident there to park in his driveway overnight and have the vehicle towed in the morning. Officers discovered the male had a warrant for a traffic violation out of Indiana, but Indiana would not extradite him.

— Officers found the Long John Silvers on state Route 170 to be secure after investigating an alarm on Jan. 30.

— A driver was given a verbal warning for his license plate flapping following a Jan. 30 traffic stop on state Route 11.

— Officers investigated an alarm on Jan 31 at the Ohio Sport and Spine Institute and found the building to be secure.

— An officer arriving at the location of a disabled vehicle in a bad spot on Calcutta Smith Ferry Road on Jan. 31 stood by until a tow truck arrived.
