— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Fifth Street at 8:55 p.m. Friday for a reported pending investigation. The statement was collected and forwarded to the investigating officer via the department’s mailbox.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 7:01 p.m. Friday for a report of possible fraud. The caller advised that it had been determined that the matter was not fraud and everything was okay.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Eighth Street at 5:50 p.m. Friday for a report of a dog which had been sitting outside and had injuries from the cold. A juvenile in the residence was contacted to recover the dog and instead of taking it inside asked who had called and yelled profanity at the officer but took it inside afterwards. The matter will be referred to the Humane Agent, and officers advised that any further incidents would result in arrest for whomever left the dog out.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 5:05 p.m. Friday for a reported runaway juvenile. The caller advised that the juvenile may have gone to a friend’s house near the former Sparkle. The juvenile was located in the 500 block of Walnut Street and transported back to their residence.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Newgarden Avenue at 1:11 p.m. Friday for a reported dispute between two truck drivers. Officers spoke with the parties involved and it was determined to be a dispute over how the trucks were parked. Officers advised them of their options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 12:43 p.m. Friday about a situation concerning a person who lives at their residence. Officers provided them with options for dealing with the situation.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Eighth Street at 10:08 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. Officers were familiar with a family member of the person in question who advised that they were fine.

— Officers responded to the area of North Union Avenue at 8:05 a.m. Friday for a reported juvenile complaint. Officers were advised that a young juvenile was walking in the roadway. Officers checked the area but did not have any contact with any juveniles.

— Officers on patrol in the 1400 block of East Pershing Street at 5:25 a.m. Friday observed a vehicle parked at the park after hours. Offices spoke with the occupants and advised them that the park was closed.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Third Street at 2:08 a.m. Friday for a noise complaint. Officers checked the area but did not locate any loud music.

— Officers on patrol in the area of East State Street at Ohio Avenue conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired plates at 10:50 p.m. Thursday. Officers spoke with the driver, Daniel Winter, 46, Canal Fulton, who advised they did not have a license, and K-9 Fero indicated to the presence of narcotic odor coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle located syringe in the driver’s side door, and Winter was taken into custody charged with possession of a drug abuse instrument and cited for driving under suspension and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:56 p.m. Thursday to speak with a resident. The resident advised that they were overwhelmed and needed to speak with someone, and officers were able to get them in contact with someone to help.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:13 p.m. Thursday regarding concerns for an employee. They advised that the employee has a protection order against their current spouse and that the spouse had been observed in the area of their business. They also requested an extra watch in the area of the business.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Second Street at 3:29 p.m. Thursday for a report of fraud. The caller advised that an unknown person had acquired a copy of their federal firearms license and created a fake social media page using their name for fraud. At least two people have been victimized into sending money to purchase a firearm before learning the transactions were illegitimate. The caller had also contacted the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations for further investigation.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 2:35 p.m. to advise a man not to have any contact with a protected person and that if he does, he could face criminal charges.

— Officers took a report of theft at the police department at 1:47 p.m. Thursday. Officers were advised that several silver coins had been stolen from an apartment and were given a list of people who had access to the apartment in the last several months. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers spoke with a man seeking assistance getting into a halfway house at the police department at 10:11 a.m. Thursday. Officers contacted peer support who was able to get the man into one.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Fifth Street at 8:19 a.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. When officers arrived, the parties were actively yelling and swearing at each other while outside. Officers issued both a disorderly conduct warning, and no physical violence was reported. The husband collected property and left the residence for the time being.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of West State Street at 8:02 a.m. Thursday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that their juvenile daughter hadn’t gotten on the school bus. Officers checked the area and transported the juvenile to the high school.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Fourth Street Friday for an alleged theft of a large sum of money won on a cell-phone lottery. The caller advised that a guest at their house had transferred the money to themselves and left. There was nothing shown on scene to validate the claim, and the caller appeared to be heavily intoxicated and was unable to operate their phone to show officers what exactly was missing. Officers advised them to locate the app or whatever was used to display proof that money was taken, and it will be investigated further.
