— Officers responded at 2:52 p.m. Nov. 19 near Rose Drive to assist with a medical call, standing by until EMS no longer needed them.

— Officers responded at 2:38 p.m. Nov. 19 to North Market Street for a report of a downed power line. It was found to be a low-hanging phone line, which officers moved to clear the roadway.

— Officers responded at 10:59 p.m. Nov. 18 to Pritchard Avenue to assist adult probation, clearing without incident.

— Officers responded at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 18 to Circle K for an accident.

— Officers responded at 9:19 p.m. Nov. 18 to East Chestnut Street for a 911 hang-up. The caller stated he dialed accidentally.

— Officers responded at 9:10 p.m. Nov. 18 to West Washington Street for a welfare check. The woman reported no intention of self-harm.

— Officers responded at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 18 to West Lincoln Way for a report of people inside an apartment who were not supposed to be there. Officers determined the noise came from another tenant.

— Officers responded at 3:54 p.m. Nov. 18 to Family Recovery on North Market Street for a 911 hang-up. A malfunctioning office phone was responsible.

— Officers responded at 8:39 a.m. Nov. 18 near South Market and Washington streets for a disabled vehicle and assisted until it was jump-started.

— Officers initiated a traffic stop at 1:40 p.m. Nov. 17 on state Route 45 for multiple lane violations. The driver was deemed unsafe to drive and was given a courtesy transport to Salem hospital.

— Officers responded at 11:38 p.m. Nov. 17 to the courthouse on Saltwell Road for a fire alarm. No fire was found.

— Officers responded at 12:54 a.m. Nov. 16 to assist West Point Fire Department with traffic control for a medical helicopter landing zone on Route 11.

— Officers responded at 8:46 a.m. Nov. 16 to the Days Inn for a suspicious vehicle.

— Officers responded at 1:49 p.m. Nov. 16 to BP to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with an investigation.

— Officers conducted a traffic stop at 1:01 a.m. Nov. 15 near West Lincoln Way and Morton Street. After field sobriety tests, Charles Slocum Jr., no age or address, was arrested for OVI.

— Officers responded at 5:32 a.m. Nov. 15 to 116 East Spruce Street for a reported break-in. The garage door was open but showed no signs of forced entry.

— Officers responded at 4:46 p.m. Nov. 15 to the area of Carter Lumber on East Lincoln Way for a reckless-driving complaint. No violations were observed.

— Officers responded at 5:07 p.m. Nov. 14 to Subway on East Lincoln Way for a vehicle lockout. Entry was gained.

— Officers responded at 1:11 p.m. Nov. 14 to David Anderson Jr./Sr. High School for a suspicious person seeking transcripts.

— Officers responded at 12:31 p.m. Nov. 14 to state Route 517 after Austintown Police requested contact with a resident. Officers spoke with the grandmother via ring camera.

— Officers responded at 12:26 p.m. Nov. 14 to the Court of Common Pleas to assist with a canine sniff. No alert occurred.

— Officers responded at 3 p.m. Nov. 13 to West Pine Street near North Beaver Street for a fight between juveniles. The incident is under investigation.

— Officers responded at 3:57 a.m. Nov. 8 to Apple Grove Apartments for a male who had fallen and could not get up. Fire crews gained entry and assisted.

— Officers responded at 2:43 p.m. Nov. 7 to the Trinity Playhouse for a suspicious person but did not locate anyone.

— Officers responded at 1:49 p.m. Nov. 7 to the Days Inn for a verbal argument between a customer and the manager. Officers assisted the customer with finding another hotel and provided a courtesy transport.

— Officers spoke at 12:42 p.m. Nov. 3 with a woman at the station regarding a protection-order concern and took a report.

Sheriff’s Office

— A state Route 45 resident in Madison Township reported people trespassing on his property at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday. A deputy checked the property, but didn’t find anyone.

— A 911 call from an auto alert was received at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday about a severe crash at Pine Hollow and Riffle roads. West Point EMS, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and deputies responded to the area, but could not find a crash. A spouse of the phone owner was found in the area attempting to locate them due to an alert they also received. Deputies later made contact with the owner of the phone and found them to be fine. The phone which sent the message had fallen from a vehicle and sent the alert.

–Deputies were dispatched at 11:52 p.m. Monday at JTS Pit Stop, state Route 164, Wayne Township, for an active alarm for indoor motion. Deputies checked the exterior and found the building appeared secure.

— Deputies were called at 8:53 p.m. Saturday to Mark’s Landing, Charlton Drive, Hanover Township, for a reported disturbance between customers. When deputies arrived, some of the customers causing the disturbance left. A deputy spoke with Amy J. Haines, 34, East Chestnut Street, Lisbon, who had active warrants out of Columbiana County Municipal Court and was transported to the Columbiana County Jail. According to court records, she failed to appear for a hearing in June on an obstructing official business case. A hearing is now set for Dec. 4.

— A deputy was dispatched at 8:44 p.m. Saturday to Campbell Road, Hanover Township, for a domestic violence report. All parties involved advised it was a disagreement over living arrangements.

— A found property report was taken on East Lake Road, Hanover Township, at 8:06 p.m. Saturday after property was found in Guilford Lake due to the water levels going down. The property was collected and put into the evidence room at the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office.

Salem

— An officer responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street at 12:29 p.m. Monday where a resident reported someone entered her apartment and sent out her mail without permission.

— Dawn C. Irey, Homewood Avenue, Salem, was cited for traffic control device following a three-vehicle crash at East State Street and Broadway Avenue at 11:22 a.m. Monday in which she was westbound and failed to stop for a red light, colliding with a southbound vehicle and striking an stationary eastbound vehicle. No injuries were reported.

— The school resource officer was advised at 10:30 a.m. Monday of a Reilly Elementary student having behavioral issues. Medical personnel arrived and the student was transported to Akron Children’s Hospital-Boardman Campus.

— An officer responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 9:06 a.m. Monday where a resident reported returning home and finding some papers moved. No signs of forced entry were found and the resident was advised to contact the police department if she finds anything missing.

— Officers responded to the storage units on North Howard Avenue near West Second Street at 12:31 a.m. Monday in reference to a noise complaint and found two people arguing over court documents. Officers advised the two people to keep the noise down.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East State Street at 7:27 p.m. Sunday in reference to an intoxicated driver. The caller reported a group of people were intoxicated inside the restaurant causing issues and were advised to leave, then walked outside and entered a vehicle. Officers found the people in question inside their vehicle and advised the driver to contact a sober driver. The officer stood by until a sober driver picked them up.

— Officers responded to the area of South Ellsworth Avenue near the railroad tracks at 7:08 p.m. Sunday in reference to an intoxicated person. Officers found the person to be intoxicated and walking home, and gave him a courtesy transport.

— Officers responded to a parking lot in the 2800 block of East State Street at 4:44 p.m. Sunday in reference to domestic dispute in which the caller reported seeing someone screaming at and hitting his teenage daughter before shoving her into a black GMC Yukon. The caller said she got involved and the aggressor began following her in his vehicle westbound on East State Street. Officers located the suspect vehicle entering a nearby parking lot and contact was made with person in question, who denied the assault allegations, explaining that he was yelling at his daughter for being disrespectful. The daughter showed no signs of injuries.

— Officers responded to the area of Butcher and South Cunningham roads at 6:19 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a two-vehicle crash. The drivers gave conflicting stories about what happened, although it was clear someone failed to yield to a traffic control device. No citations were issued

— An officer was advised at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday of possible child abuse that occurred at a residence in the city. The matter is under investigation.

— An officer responded to the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 8:01 a.m. Tuesday where a caller reported someone had entered the building through the rear door and took several hundred dollars in quarters. The matter is under investigation.

— An officer responded to the 1600 block of Shady Lane at 5:56 p.m. Monday in reference to a loose dog confronting the caller’s dog near Sunset Boulevard. There was no injury to the caller’s dog and the loose dog’s owner showed proof of her dog having an E-collar. The owner was issued a warning for dogs at large.

— Jason F. Krach, 49, East Canton, was charged with theft and drug paraphernalia after officers responded to the 2300 block of East State Street where he had allegedly fled a store with $299.97 in merchandise without paying and entered a waiting vehicle. Krach was found to also have active warrants for his arrest in another jurisdiction.

— Gerald S. Edinger, 48, Sebring, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop in the 700 block of West State Street at 2:01 p.m. Monday.
