Sheriff’s Reports

— An alarm was reported at 6:37 p.m. Thursday at Elkton Auto Corral, Elkrun Township. Deputies found all buildings secure.

— A man on Waynewood Drive, New Waterford reported at 6:19 p.m. Thursday that there’s an ongoing issue with his neighbor revving his vehicle engine all the time.

— Fraud was reported by a caller on Westville Lake Road, Knox Township, with a deputy returning the call at 5:15 p.m. Thursday and advising them how to proceed.

— A woman on Harvey Avenue, Center Township reported at 2:13 p.m. Thursday that she’s receiving phone calls and text messages from unknown numbers and people inquiring about a family member’s property that’s for sale in Portage County. She said she has no contact with that family member and she contacted the realty company and learned her phone number was provided to them as the contact number. She told the realty company to remove her number.She didn’t know why it would have been provided to them.

— A woman in Center Township called at 9:08 p.m. Wednesday to report two suspicious black males in a car at a vacant residence on Harvey Avenue. The case was determined to be unfounded after deputies checked the area and had no contact with any such persons.

— A deputy was dispatched at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday to Fairmont Road, Elkrun Township for a domestic violence report. Both parties signed a refusal.

— A deputy at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday spoke with two women in Butler Township at the Deer Run Mobile Home Park who initially reported a neighbor was at their trailer yelling and calling them names. It was later discovered the man was attempting to retrieve property, specifically a book that belonged to a relative, which led to the verbal altercation. He left the scene shortly after. The two women did not articulate that any threats were made and were advised the sheriff’s office won’t get involved in disputes over property. They were told to call if he returned and caused any further issues.

— A civil matter was reported at 3:46 p.m. Wednesday on Metz Road, Unity Township.

— An Alliance woman reported at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday that a brass vase was missing from her grandmother’s grave at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, South 12th Street, Knox Township.

— A woman on Westville Lake Road, Knox Township, reported at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday that sometime in the past month, the passenger side window on her blue 2010 Ford F250 was damaged.

— A man on Glasgow Road, Wayne Township reported at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday that his mailbox was damaged overnight.

— A noise disturbance was reported at 8:37 p.m. Tuesday on Rose Drive, Lisbon, but nothing was found.

— A man on Circle Drive, West Township reported at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday that his neighbor contacted him and said someone was at his front door, then got into a vehicle and drove down the road and turned off their headlights. A deputy checked the area but didn’t find anything.

— The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office requested at 7:16 p.m. Tuesday that Columbiana County deputies make contact with a Canton man at a residence on Ridge Road, West Township regarding multiple warrants out of their jurisdiction. Deputies spoke withu the man’s relative and learned he does not live there. The relative was told to call if he returns.

— A caller on Rochester Road, West Township called at 6:33 p.m. Tuesday that there was some type of disturbance at the neighbor’s residence with lots of screaming going on. A deputy spoke with a man who said his dogs were fighting and he had to break them up.

— A domestic dispute was reported at 6:07 p.m. Monday on Mill Street, Salineville. A deputy spoke to the caller and was told the persons involved had left.

— A deputy responded to the area of Water Street, Salineville at 5:46 p.m. Oct. 5 for a report of theft. The person signed a refusal to prosecute form.

— Menacing was reported at 3:28 p.m. Oct. 2 on Hanson Road, West Township. A deputy spoke with both parties and they signed a refusal to prosecute.
