Sheriff’s Office

— A man in Hanover Township called at 8:51 p.m. Tuesday to request a welfare check on his son, who lives on Shady Lane, Center Township, due to not being able to reach him by phone. A deputy spoke to the son, who was fine and said he doesn’t have a working telephone at this time.

— A man in Perry Township reported at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday that he rented a residence he owns on Lisa Lane, Center Township, to another man, alleging that the other man moved out and allegedly took items that were to stay inside the residence. He was advised to take the other man to small claims court.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:38 p.m. Tuesday to the Dollar General, state Route 172, Center Township, for a report of threats and harassment. A warrant for aggravated menacing was issued out of Columbiana County Municipal Court for a Center Township resident.

— A man on Rochester Road, West Township, reported at 7 p.m. Tuesday that his neighbor’s vehicle is blocking the alley and the garbage truck could not get through. A deputy spoke with the neighbor, who said he will make sure his vehicle is not blocking the alley.

— A woman on Grant Street, Center Township reported at 12:47 p.m. Tuesday that a man tried to poison her and told a deputy that the man put meth in her Crush soda while she was in the hospital. She advised this happened sometime before she got out of the hospital and said she wanted a report on file. She said she already reported it to Stark County and the state police.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:11 p.m. Aug. 8 to the 41000 block of Glasgow Road, Madison Township for a truck with Progressive Solutions on it, spraying something on private property and along the roadway. A deputy checked the area, with no contact with anyone.

— A deputy was dispatched at 7:05 p.m. Aug. 8 to the parking lot of Dairy Queen, state Route 45, Center Township, for a man walking in a circle for over four hours. Upon arrival, the staff said he left walking on foot. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.

— A Lisbon man requested a welfare check at 5:57 p.m. Aug. 8 on his 10-year-old son who’s at his grandparents’ residence on St. Jacobs Logtown Road, Center Township. A deputy made contact with the juvenile, who was fine.

— Two people were reported lying in the grass off the side of the roadway in the 17000 block of state Route 45, Madison Township at 5:56 p.m. Aug. 8. A deputy checked the area, but didn’t find anyone.

— A Butler Township man reported at 3:31 p.m. Aug. 8 that his ex-girlfriend was moving out of his Valley Road residence and she had an unknown male at the property that he could see on his camera.

— A woman on Grant Street, Center Township called 911 at 7:57 p.m. Aug. 7 to request an ambulance take her to the hospital due to a mental health crisis. When deputies arrived, Northstar EMS transported her to East Liverpool City Hospital in East Liverpool.

— A woman on Rose Drive, Center Township, reported at 7:57 p.m. Aug. 7 that her 13-year-old nephew who lives with her had been gone from the residence for two hours. Upon arrival, deputies spoke to the juvenile, who was sitting outside the front door of the residence. The juvenile then went back inside and went to bed.

— A woman on Westville Lake Road, Knox Township reported at 5:03 p.m. Aug. 7 that her neighbor’s juvenile son keeps trespassing on her property.

— A man from Steubenville Pike Road, Center Township, reported at 4:34 p.m. Aug. 7 that his neighbor called him at work and told him someone was trespassing on his property and possibly inside the residence due to a silver Dodge 1500 being there. A deputy checked and had no contact with any vehicles or people, finding the residence secure from ground level.

— A deputy was dispatched at 10:42 p.m. Aug. 6 to the Columbiana County jail, County Home Road, Lisbon, Center Township, for an assault report involving two inmates.

— The Stark County Sheriff’s Office called at 8:06 p.m. Aug. 6 to request deputies go to Big Arb’s Campground, Buffalo Road, West Township, to take a man into custody on an active warrant out of Stark County. Robert E. Lacaze, Union Avenue, NE., Paris Township, Stark County, was taken into custody and transported to state Route 172 at the county line and turned over to a Stark County deputy.

— A Youngstown man called at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 6 to report he was at a Boston Street, Salem Township residence and his soon-to-be ex-wife kept driving by in her vehicle attempting to make contact with him. He said there’s a no contact order out of Youngstown Municipal Court on her to have no contact with him.

East Liverpool

–A female came into the police department on July 28 wanting to make a theft report. She suspected her son of possibility taken a credit card from her vehicle. Officers then spoke to the female about issues she was having with her son and advised her to obtain a protection order or a no-contact order through the courts.

–A male came to the police station on July 28 to file a report of two males in a red Pontiac driving past him while he was at the dispensary on Dresden Avenue and throwing quarters at him. The male said they drove back by him again and threw something else at him. He said he was then given a ride and followed the vehicle into town where he lost site of it. Officers checked the area for the car and noted the reason for the incident was unknown.

–Officers were dispatched to a First Avenue residence on July 28 for a possible domestic situation. When officers arrived they found a female to be very frustrated. While one officer spoke to the female another spoke to Homer Williams Jr. The female noted that she was afraid of Williams at that time and he had already been to prison for domestic violence. Witnesses to the incident told officers that Williams had threatened to knock the female’s and her granddaughter’s eyes out of their heads. Williams told officers he was not afraid of prison and last time he loved it there. Williams who was previously charged with felony domestic violence in 2019 and involuntary manslaughter in 1999 was placed under arrest and charged with domestic violence

–An officer went to a Market Street residence at the request of the Jefferson County Medical Office to notify a resident on July 28 to contact the Jefferson County Medical Office.

–An officer checked the area of Park Way for a female reported on July 28 to be stumbling in the area.

–An officer who responded to a person to be removed call on July 28 at a Harvey Avenue residence advised the caller that he would need to start the eviction process to have the female removed from the property.

–Officers were told by a female that her brother threw a beer bottle at her dog that tried to attack him. She wants him charged for spilling beer on her when they responded to the situation at an Ohio Avenue residence on July 28. Officers spoke to the female’s brother and parents who told them the female was using narcotics again and digging through the neighbors’ trash causing a chemical smell throughout the residence. The officers requested the fire department check the residence due to a very strong chemical smell. The fire department noted that the smell was from a can of bug spray the female got from the garbage and sprayed under the window air conditioning unit. Officers suggested the siblings avoid each other for the night. The brother left to go stay with friends.

Salem

— Offices responded to the 2500 block of Bentley Drive at 1:24 a.m. Thursday for a speak with officer report. The caller advised that they were in an adjacent room when they heard the nurse in charge tell another employee that they wanted to assault the caller. The caller said that several issues have been reported to the corporate office but tonight was the first to involve a direct threat and she wanted the incident document. The caller was then advised by the on duty floor manager that it would be best to go home to avoid any issues regarding her safety for the night. The caller was advised to follow up with the officer if any further issues occurred.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Southeast Boulevard at 11:44 p.m. Wednesday for a reported single-vehicle accident. A vehicle driven northbound on Southeast Boulevard by Kari Stahl, 33, Salem, veered off of the roadway into the grass, striking a driveway marker before going back onto the roadway and crossing over the two lanes and striking a tree in a resident’s yard. Stahl had an odor of alcohol emitting from their person and had several open containers in the vehicle. Due to the nature of the accident Stahl was transported to the hospital for further evaluation and was cited with OVI, driving under suspension, failure to control, and failure to wear a seatbelt.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street at 10:37 p.m. Wednesday for a reported verbal dispute. Officers spoke with all parties and advised them to keep it down and relax for the night.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 10:19 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile complaint. Contact was made with juveniles playing in the street and they were advised to stay in their yards or head home for the evening.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of West Seventh Street at 4:36 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with a family member of the person in question who advised that they were not at home.

— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday for a reported protection order violation that had occurred on Sunday. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday for a reported open door. The housing department advised they were on scene to condemn the residence and officers were unable to check the entire residence due to the deplorable conditions. The residence was secured prior to officers’ departure.

— Officers responded o the 500 block of Granite Avenue at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday to stand by while the housing department made contact at the residence. Housing advised that the residence was condemned and the property needed to be vacated.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 1:22 p.m. Wednesday for a reported theft. The caller advised that their juvenile son’s bike was stolen that morning while at a friend’s house in the 700 block of Prospect Street. The matter is under investigation.

— Officers responded with the fire department to the 400 block of Penn Avenue at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday for an open burning complaint. Officers stood by until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Tenth Street at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that a woman had a camera on a pole and was possibly taking pictures of her house, and that she wanted to make a report because it seemed odd. The woman left the area prior to officers’ arrival.
