Sheriff’s Office
— Deputies were dispatched at 4:27 p.m. Thursday to a residence on state Route 7, Fairfield Township, for a juvenile-related report. The report was sent to Columbiana County child protective services.
— Deputies responded at 3:51 p.m. Thursday to Gilson Road, Butler Township for a domestic violence report between a father and son. A refusal was signed.
— A deputy was dispatched at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday to Lisa Lane, Center Township, for a person intoxicated, making suicidal threats and who allegedly took multiple amounts of medication. Hanover Township EMS transported the person to Salem Regional Medical Center in Salem.
— A suspicious vehicle was reported at 6:56 p.m. July 24 at Christian Fellowship Church, Rochester Road, West Township. A deputy made contact with the driver, who said he pulled over due to not feeling well from the heat and his vehicle having no air conditioning. EMS checked the person and cleared him. He was heading home.
— A deputy at 5:13 p.m. July 24 conducted a welfare check on Township Line Road, Wellsville, where contact was made with the new homeowner of the residence. The homeowner knew the person, but advised he no longer lives in Ohio.
— A medical incident was reported at 9:28 p.m. July 23 on Kirk Road, Fairfield Township, where a person was confused and unable to speak clearly at first. He eventually become more aware and the deputy and his wife kept asking questions to keep him awake until EMS arrived. EMS arrived and he was taken to a hospital to be checked.
— A possible overdose was reported at 10:30 p.m. July 17 in the area of Elkton Road near Rollercoaster Road. Deputies were met by EMS who said they checked two people and cleared them and the third person fled on foot. The two people checked out refused medical treatment and were free to leave. Deputies checked the immediate and surrounding areas for the third person, but didn’t find anyone.
Columbiana
— A complaint about disorderly conduct was reported at 1:29 p.m. July 21 at Firestone Funland in the park.
— Police responded at 7:35 p.m. July 21 to a hit-skip private property crash in the first block of South Main Street.
— R. Silva, of Youngstown, was cited at 4:58 p.m. July 22 for expired registration and driving under suspension in the 700 block of Springfield Road.
— A male subject reported an oil spill in the 100 block of Main Street at 10:12 a.m. July 24.
— Officers assisted an individual with a housing crisis at 4:29 p.m. July 24 in the first block of Wind Rose Court.
— John Blinsky, of Youngstown, was cited at 8:11 p.m. July 24 for fictitious registration following a traffic stop near Allen Avenue and North Vine Street.
— Trinity Walker, of Lisbon, was cited at 4:17 p.m. July 25 on stat Route ’65 for driving under suspension.
Salem
–Officers responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 2:42 a.m. Thursday to assist Goshen Township Officers with an investigation. Officers were unable to speak with anyone at the residence.
–Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the driver and advised them that it was after park hours, and they moved on without issue.
–Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office with a combative patient in an ambulance. Once officers arrived the person in question had become cooperative.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of South Ellsworth Avenue at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised that her niece was pushed by the neighbor’s juvenile. After speaking with both parties, the argument began when the caller’s niece was seen attempting to take the neighbor’s pet cat inside her home. The teen advised that she did not touch the smaller juvenile and was able to get her cat back. Both sides were advised to stay away from each other as best as possible and for the cat to be kept inside the home.
–Officers responded to the 300 block of Newgarden Avenue at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday for a reported person with a gun. Officers determined that the gun was a toy Orbeez gun, and that the juvenile was advised not to carry it around in the manner he had been, and his mother was also notified.
–Officers responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 7:48 p.m. Wednesday to advise that someone had stolen their identity. The caller advised that she went to apply for some insurance benefits when they advised that she could not due to already having a job despite her not being employed currently. She was advised that someone had used her identity to get a job at Ditch USA LLC in Cincinnati, and Tyson Foods Inc. in Springdale Arizona and she had never worked at either location. They were provided with the report number for Columbiana County Job and Family Services so she could try and get the benefits.
–Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 6:26 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with a reported sex act. Officers placed the person in question into custody and transported them to the police department for processing and $100 was seized from them and placed into evidence.
–Officers spoke to a person by phone at 5:11 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a vehicle being struck multiple times in the parking lot of a business in the 2900 block of East State Street on Monday. Officers will attempt to review the store’s video.
–Officers responded to the 400 block of West Third Street at 4:12 p.m. Wednesday for a wellness check on a woman standing in a yard. Officers located the woman in question who advised that they were fine and had taken a break while walking home.
–Officers responded to the area of Pennsylvania Avenue at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller advised that a vehicle was parked in the city dump. Officers found the vehicle to be unoccupied but were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle. The caller was advised to contact the police department if the driver returns.
–Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that there was a dog in a vehicle with the windows up. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
