Highway Patrol

— Dave Greenawalt, of Waterford Road in New Waterford, was cited at 5:52 p.m. Dec. 16 for failure to control in Unity Township after he drove his eastbound vehicle off the right side of the Metz Road and struck a ditch.

— Troopers responded at 4:54 a.m. Dec. 10 to Washington Township to investigate a single-vehicle crash near state Route 39. They discovered an unoccupied vehicle that had been westbound and drove off the right side of the road. A passerby had called it in. No charges will be filed unless the driver is positively identified.

— Andrew Dattilio, of state Route 164 in Leetonia, was cited at 4:09 a.m. Dec. 13 on a charge of failure to control. His northbound vehicle had traveled off the right side of Depot Road and struck a ditch before continuing northbound and sliding backwards into a culvert.

— Jason Wright, of Beaver Falls, was cited at 10:55 a.m. Dec. 15 in Middleton Township for failure to control in Middleton Township after his northbound vehicle lost control while negotiating a curve on state Route 170 and went off the right side of road before striking a tree and coming to rest.

— Robert Wagner, of Erie, Pa., was cited at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 in Elkrun Township for failure to yield the right of way when turning left. He was eastbound on U.S. Route 30, while Randy Dean, of state Route 45 in Lisbon, was westbound on Route 30 when Dean struck him while he was turning.

— Lona Burkey, of Depot Road in Lisbon, was cited at 4:38 p.m. Dec. 18 in Center Township for failure to maintain an assured clear distance. Burkey and Karlee Walker, of Rose Drive in Lisbon, were westbound on Furnace Road when Walker attempted to make a right turn and was struck from behind by Burkey.

— Joseph Baxter, of Carrollton, was cited at 1:50 p.m. Dec. 21 in Franklin Township for failure to control after his eastbound vehicle went off the left side of state Route 518, struck an embankment, overturned and hit a tree.

— Wayne LeMasters, of West Fifth Street in East Liverpool, was cited at 5:35 a.m. Dec. 13 in Elkrun Township after his headlights failed while he was northbound on state Route and he struck two vehicles driven by William Bowlin, of New Springfield, and Debora Tenney, of state Route 7 in New Waterford, coming southbound after going left of center.

— Gavin Ryan, of Minerva, was cited at 3:48 p.m. Dec. 20 in West Township for failure to control in West Township after his eastbound vehicle went off the right side of state Route 172, striking a mailbox and a ditch.

— Mason Broadbent, of Creek Road in New Waterford, was cited at 5:20 p.m. Dec. 15 in Fairfield Township for improper overtaking after he began to pass a vehicle driven by Hailey Grimm, of Mineral Ridge, in the middle of the intersection of CR0421 and TR0885 and was struck by her before veering off the right side of the road and striking a ditch, tree and the ditch again.

— Jeff Walker, of Conkle Road in Salem, was cited at 6:03 p.m. Dec. 15 for left of center in Salem Township. Walker was southbound on state Route 45 when he went left of center and struck the northbound vehicle of Braiden Yeater, of Sebring, sending Yeater off the road.

— Billie Marie Ingledue, of Teegarden Road in Lisbon, was cited at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 21 in Salem Township. Her southeast bound vehicle went off the right side of TR0750, she overcorrected and nearly veered off the left side of the before going off the right side again and hitting a tree and mailbox.

— Andrew Smith, of Market Street in East Palestine, was cited recently for hit-skip and failure to control in conjunction with a November crash in Salem Township. Smith allegedly had left the scene at 11:13 p.m. Nov. 8 after his eastbound vehicle went off the right side of state Route 558, struck a mailbox and traffic sign before overturning.

St. Clair Township

— Jada Pack, age and address not provided, was released with a court summons for theft after officers responded to theft complaint at Walmart on Dec. 18 where she failed to scan 49 items valued at $700.19.

— Officers responded to a private property crash at Giant Eagle on Dec. 18.

— Officers requested NorthStar EMS to an Echo Dell Road residence on Dec. 18 to transport an individual to the hospital after responding to a dispute between a father and daughter. The father said the daughter needed a mental evaluation and the daughter said yes when police asked if she wanted to go to hospital to talk to someone.

— Officers responded to a private property crash at Giant Eagle on Dec. 21. A female told officers someone in a red Cavalier struck her vehicle and fled the scene.

— A driver was given a verbal warning following a Dec. 21 traffic stop on St. Clair Avenue for traveling 45 mph in a 35-mph zone.

— Officers were called to Calcutta Woods on Dec. 21 for a juvenile having seizures. NorthStar EMS arrived and took over.

— A driver was given a warning following a Dec. 21 traffic stop on state Route 170 for an improper turn.

— A driver was given a verbal warning following a Dec. 21 traffic stop on East Liverpool Road after an officer observed him travel across the fog line. The driver told the officer he was on his way home from work and was a little tired.

— Officers told a resident on Dec. 22 they wouldn’t give a deer carcass receipt for a deer that had been dead for three days after a Calcutta Smith Ferry Road resident called to request one for a deer he said he found dead in his yard three days prior.

— Officers responded to a private property crash at Walmart on Dec. 22.

Perry Township

— Officers responded with the fire department and EMT to the 1000 block of Andrew Avenue at 12:09 a.m. Sunday for a reported medical call, and one man was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

— Gerald Konn, 64, Stow, was cited for reasonable control and OVI after his vehicle on U.S. Route 62 went off the end of the roadway striking a sign and multiple trees at 8 p.m. Saturday. Konn and their passenger refused treatment at the scene.

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 45 near the Salem Golf Club at 10:50 p.m. Friday for a reported reckless operator. The vehicle was located, and a traffic stop was initiated, speaking with the driver officers conducted standardized field sobriety testing and the operator was found fit to drive.

— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Pine Lake Road at 8:38 p.m. Friday for a wellness check on the caller’s intoxicated brother. Contact was made with the man who had drank but was not intoxicated and advised his statements about not being around were due to him wanting to leave the area for personal reasons and he had no intent to harm himself and did not want to speak with anyone.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Blossom Lane at 8:13 p.m. Friday to assist with a medical call. Officers stood by until they were no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 10:10 p.m. Thursday to assist the Salem Police Department with a reported fight. Officers assisted until no longer needed.

— Ma Gonzalez, 41, Salem, was cited for no operator’s license and reasonable control after their vehicle crossed the center line and struck a tractor trailer driven by Dan Poeana, 64, Hammond, Indiana, at 6:20 p.m. Thursday.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East 11th Street at 4:27 p.m. Thursday for a reported child custody dispute. Officers spoke with the caller and advised her of her options, and that they would trespass the man in question from her property per her request. Officers spoke with the man and advised him that he was trespassed from the caller’s property. The man became irate and asked to speak to a supervisor and was advised one would contact him the next day.

— William Silvers, 72, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his eastbound vehicle on West State Street struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Robert Partlow, 53, Sebring, at 1:55 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the area of East Pidgeon Road and Depot Road at 10:43 p.m. Wednesday to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol with a traffic stop. Officers assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Pine Lake Road at 9:02 p.m. Wednesday for a reported civil matter. Officers spoke with all parties and advised them it was a civil matter, and they would need to contact the courts.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Pine Lake Road at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic complaint. Officers were advised that nothing physical occurred and all parties agreed to separate for the night.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Depot Road at 3:12 p.m. Wednesday for a follow-up investigation. Officers provided information to all parties involved.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Benton Road at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday located two vehicles with their hazard lights activated. Officers spoke with the driver who advised they were okay.

— Officers spoke to a person by phone at 5:18 p.m. Dec. 17 regarding a civil issue. The caller advised that he bought items and gas at a self-checkout at Circle K and exited the store but did not grab his receipt. The caller found the pump he prepaid for did not work and when he went back into the store the clerk stated he did not pay for gas, would not return his money, and asked him to leave the store. Officers advised him to call the corporate phone number for Circle K.

— Officers responded to the area of state Route 45 at 5:24 p.m. Dec. 16 for a reported reckless operator. Officers checked the area and stood by but no vehicles matching the description given were observed.
