— Officers responded to the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 6:17 a.m. Thursday for a report of someone allegedly looking in windows. Officers checked the area, but nobody was located.
— Officers checked on a person behind Goodwill at 12:04 a.m. Thursday, advising them not to be behind the business after hours going through dumpsters.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Walnut Street at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday for a loud music complaint. Officers spoke with the person in question who turned the music down without incident.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of West Pershing Street at 11:46 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a person that had allegedly threatened to harm themselves. Officers attempted contact but were unable to locate the person.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an elderly woman throwing things and screaming inside her residence. When officers arrived the woman’s daughter was outside, but the woman refused to allow anyone inside. The fire department was contacted to respond, and entry was gained to the residence. The woman was ultimately transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday for a reported domestic in progress. Officers had a difficult time discerning what had transpired due to the presence of a language barrier but determined with the assistance of a translator that the male caller was the source of the problems due to his extremely intoxicated state. An argument between a married couple had taken place but no injuries were observed. The man was advised to leave his wife alone.
— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 7:17 p.m. Wednesday for a reported assault. The caller advised that after an argument between him and his tenant the tenant’s wife came outside and slapped him in the face. Officers spoke with the tenants who were advised to have no further contact with the caller and all parties were advised to stay away from each other.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of East Sixth Street at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a stolen bicycle. The caller advised that her child’s 20-inch camouflage bicycle was missing from her garage Tuesday morning. Officers gathered the necessary information and advised a report would be on file.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 800 block of Granite Avenue at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday for a reported fire. Officers observed that the person in question had set a couch on fire. The fire was extinguished, and the person was advised of the burning laws.
— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 5:33 p.m. Wednesday for a report of fraud. The person advised that their bank card was used at a local business, and they did not authorize the purchase. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue at 4:29 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a vehicle driving by a school bus with its lights and stop sign active. The caller provided a license plate and a description of the driver and vehicle. Officers were able to locate the driver in question who denied driving by the bus while the red lights were on and claimed that the lights only had yellow lights flashing at the time he drove by the bus.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of Brooklyn Avenue at 3:07 p.m. Wednesday for a reported dog at large. Officers located the dog and were able to catch the dog, contacting the owner and returning the dog.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of East State Street at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday for a report of theft. Officers spoke with the caller who advised that two men walked into his business to sell personal items, and while the caller was doing business with one man the other stole multiple items from the business. The caller had video evidence of the man stuffing items into his pants and hooded sweatshirt. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers were advised the person left prior to their arrival and checked the area but were unable to locate the person.
— Officers responded to the area of Carole Drive and Merle Road at 10:01 a.m. Wednesday for a report of dog at large. The dog was located and appeared to be favoring the immediate area. The humane agent was contacted to respond and attempt to contain the dog.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Sixth Street at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday for an animal complaint. The caller advised that a dog was left tied up outside without shelter for over an hour and nobody was around. Officers checked the property and did not locate any dog outside. Officers spoke with the homeowner, advising them of the complaint, who advised they were house breaking a new puppy and the dog was only outside for 10 minutes.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 7:17 a.m. Wednesday for a reported juvenile problem. The caller advised she wanted her niece transported to Akron Children’s in Boardman for self-harming. The female juvenile was transported by EMT without incident.
— Officers responded to the 1700 block of East State Street at 6:37 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a reckless operator. The caller advised they saw the vehicle pull into the hospital parking lot. Officers located the vehicle parked and unoccupied with nobody around.
