Salem

– A West 13th Street resident reported at 12:19 a.m. Saturday his neighbor had pushed him, causing him to fall and cut the back of his head, after he had confronted the neighbor about listening to music at a loud volume in his truck shortly prior to the report. Fire department first responders arrived to evaluate the complainant, who refused treatment. He was advised how to file charges.

– Officers responded to the 1000 block of Georgetown Road at 9:33 p.m. Friday to assist Perry Township police with a possible domestic in progress. Officers stood by until cleared by Perry Township officers.

– Officers responded to the 900 block of Morris Avenue at 7:49 p.m. Friday in reference to a neighbor yelling profanities at the caller regarding an issue with household pets. Officers spoke with both individuals and advised them to be civil with each other and avoid using language that could be considered offensive.

– Richard Thomas Hoperich, 69, Lisbon, was cited for leaving the scene of a crash and improper passing following a two-vehicle crash in the 200 block of East State Street at 6:33 p.m. Friday in which he was westbound and attempted to illegally pass a vehicle driven by Seth Adam Francis, 43, Salem, who had stopped for traffic, striking Francis’ vehicle then fleeing the scene.

– Officers responded to the 700 block of West State Street at 4:18 p.m. Friday in reference to a man who had urinated on a trash can outside of a business. Officers spoke with the man in question who said he had been unable to hold his bladder after being unable to open a bathroom door at the business and went outside. The man was with a caretaker and both individuals were told not to return to the business.

– Police responded to the 200 block of Continental Drive at 4:04 p.m. Friday in reference to an elderly man visiting his elderly wife at a retirement home seen kissing and touching another elderly woman other than his wife. Officers spoke with the three people involved, none of whom seemed to recall what had happened. The retirement home administrators said they would be contacting the families involved to make them aware of the issue.
