— A representative of Lisbon Nazarene Church, North Market Street, reported at 10:15 a.m. Dec. 1 that sometime overnight someone broke the hinge on the shed door of the tan clothing shed. He advised someone has been sleeping in it.

New Waterford

— Officers spoke with a West Main Street resident at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 26 who reported her ex-boyfriend did not want to pick up his belongings from the home. Officers determined it was a civil matter and would need to be resolved through the courts or their attorneys.

Highway Patrol

— Jaquon Mixon, 24, Youngstown, was traveling south on state Route 11 when his vehicle caught fire at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 26 in Fairfield Township. Mixon was not aware of any pre-existing mechanical issues with the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

— Hayden Foster, 23, Warren, was cited for failure to control and hit and skip after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 517 went off the right side of the roadway striking a culvert and a tree at 7:14 a.m. Nov. 23 in Fairfield Township. No injuries were reported.

— Pamela Benner 42, Kensington, was cited for failure to control and a seatbelt violation after his southbound vehicle on Knox School Road went off the right side of the roadway, striking a guardrail at 10:22 p.m. Nov. 22. No injuries were reported.

— David McMillen, 68, Columbiana, was traveling east on state Route 14 when a vehicle with an unknown driver struck the rear of his vehicle twice before fleeing the scene at 3:20 p.m. Nov. 22 in Unity Township. No injuries were reported.

— Alice Custer, 62, Minerva, was cited for failure to yield after her westbound vehicle on Salem Grange Road failed to yield from a stop sign striking a vehicle driven south on state Route 45 by Jennifer Phillips, 44, Salem, causing both vehicles to travel off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch, with Phillips vehicle continuing on and striking a culvert at 2:37 p.m. Nov. 22 in Salem Township. Phillips was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Mercy Hospital by Winona EMS for suspected minor injuries.

— Sonya Thompson, 39, Rogers, was cited for failure to control after her southbound vehicle on County Road 428 went off the right side of the roadway striking an embankment and a utility pole at 10:21 a.m. Nov. 21 in Middleton Township. Thompson was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital by Negley EMS for suspected minor injuries.

— Jeremy Deal, 17, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after his southeastbound vehicle on Township Road 793 failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the roadway striking an embankment and a tree at 9:39 a.m. Nov. 21 in Madison Township. Deal’s passenger, Zoey Clark, was transported to the Salem Regional Medical Center by her grandfather for suspected minor injuries.

— Thomas May, 38, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control, OVI, OVI with prior refusal, no valid operator’s license and no registration after his northbound vehicle on Lisbon Road went off the right side of the roadway, striking a mailbox, a ditch, an embankment and overturning at 1:44 p.m. in Salem Township.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Continental Drive at 1:35 a.m. Friday for a wellness check. Contact was made with the resident in question who advised that everything was okay.

— Officers assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol with the investigation of an impaired driver at the police department at 1:29 a.m. Friday.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 10:43 p.m. Thursday to check for a male juvenile with an active warrant out of Columbiana County. Officers spoke with the juvenile’s mother who was aware of the warrant, and placed the juvenile, whose name was not listed, in custody and transported him to the Louis Tobin Detention Center.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 9:21 p.m. Thursday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised a woman had come into a local bar causing a disorderly disturbance and was kicked out of the business before going back inside. Officers had dealt with the woman, Ariel Durham, 34, homeless, multiple times for disorderly disturbances and had given her warnings. Officers took Durham into custody for disorderly conduct, transporting her directly to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue at 8:06 p.m. Thursday for a report of an unruly juvenile. Officers resolved the matter for the night.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 7:41 p.m. Thursday for a report of loud music. Officers spoke with the tenant in question, advising him of the complaint, and the music was ultimately turned down without an incident.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 5:46 p.m. Thursday for multiple parking complaints. Officers spoke with all parties, who were there to watch the parade, advising them of the complaint and they moved the vehicles.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Fourth Street at 5:14 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man allegedly threatening his ex-wife over a child custody issue. The caller was going to allow their ex-husband to have visitation even though it is not a normal visitation day; however, the ex-husband showed signs of being intoxicated so the caller denied visitation. The ex left the area prior to officers’ arrival, and officers gathered information and will follow up with the ex in the near future to advise of potential criminal charges that could result from his actions. The caller was advised to contact officers if the ex returned and caused any further issues.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of East State Street at 4:01 p.m. Thursday for a reported suspicious person. Officers spoke with the person who was parked in a parking lot attempting to sell items from his vehicle to people in the parking lot. Officers advised the man that the business did not want him selling items on their property and the man left the property without incident.

— Officers investigated an incident in the 400 block of East Sixth Street at 3:34 p.m. Thursday involving a known male juvenile walking down the street with alcohol. The juvenile attempted to conceal the bottle in a backpack just before contact was made with them, admitting to having the bottle of alcohol which was retrieved from his backpack. Officers advised the juvenile that a report would be sent to the juvenile court. Officers attempted contact with the juvenile’s guardian unsuccessfully.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of West Fifth Street at 3:26 p.m. Thursday for a barking dog complaint. Officers spoke with the owner who took the dog inside.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Maple Street at 3:23 p.m. Thursday for a report of a reckless operator. The caller followed the vehicle to a residence and officers advised the driver of the complaint, who denied reckless driving.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of East State Street at 2:46 p.m. Thursday for a report of a man and woman engaged in an altercation with another man. Officers spoke with the involved individuals, finding that the man and woman were looking for a missing teenage daughter and had confronted the other man about her whereabouts, who denied knowing where the daughter was currently but admitted to having seen her earlier that day. Officers gathered information and checked several locations for the daughter but were unable to locate her. The man advised that he had been shoved and struck during the confrontation. Officers advised them that the incident would be documented, and he could provide a statement if he wanted to pursue the matter.

— Officers spoke to a man at the police department at 2:24 p.m. Thursday for a report of telecommunication harassment. The caller advised that a former roommate who was kicked out of the residence had been sending text messages through a text-app harassing him. The man just wanted a report on file at that time and had questions about filling for a protection order. Officers advised the man of the protection order process.

— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 11:35 a.m. Thursday regarding a missing juvenile. The woman advised her daughter had been dropped off at the high school that morning but never entered the school. The daughter was subsequently observed on video footage to have walked up to the main entrance of the school but did not enter and instead walked away a few minutes later leaving the area on East Sixth Street. Officers gathered information and entered the juvenile into LEADS as a runaway, and checked several locations in the city the juvenile might have gone. Officers requested the woman contact them if the daughter was located or any further information was learned.

— An individual reported on station at 1:35 p.m. Saturday he had been assaulted by an employee Nov. 22. The matter is under investigation.

— An officer assisted the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with the arrest of Jeffery A. Cline, Cleveland, in the 100 block of West State Street at 1:26 p.m. Saturday. The officer seized $180 as evidence.

— A Shady Lane resident reported on station at 12:53 p.m. Saturday he had received a disturbing image on his phone. He was advised of his options for dealing with the issue.

— A South Lundy Avenue resident reported at 11:19 a.m. Saturday her daughter was receiving voice messages from a known person and wanted them to stop. An officer listened to the messages and found nothing criminal. The complainant was told to have her daughter stop all contact with the person in question.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue at 1:14 a.m. Saturday in reference to shots fired. Officers were unable to find anything out of the ordinary.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Granite Avenue at 8:29 p.m. Friday in reference to an overdose and found a man showing signs of an overdose on the bedroom floor. Officers and Salem first responders administered Narcan, reviving the man, who was ultimately transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.

— An officer responded to a 2800 block East State Street business at 5:06 p.m. Friday in reference to a person who was stopped after leaving the store without paying for items. The person was advised of a pending summons.

— An individual reported at 3:59 p.m. Friday being contacted by Huntington Bank regarding a deposit that had nine counterfeit $100 bills. The individual provided information on the person who provided the counterfeit bills and the matter was forwarded to the detective bureau.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 2:16 p.m. Friday where a resident reported a man entered his home without permission. Officers found the man in a nearby alley who denied the allegation. He was advised to stay away from the property in question.

— Kenneth L. Deal, 76, Salem, was cited for reasonable control following a two-vehicle crash on Bentley Drive at North Cunningham Road at 1:47 p.m. Friday in which he was eastbound and making a right turn, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Genna M. Ruthrauff, 37, Salem, who was attempting a left turn. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Ohio Avenue at 1:38 p.m. Friday in reference to a juvenile who had run away. The juvenile was found in the 300 block of Washington Street and transported to the Salem hospital emergency room at the mother’s request.

— The school resource officer at 12:23 p.m. Friday was advised of a theft that occurred the previous afternoon. The matter is under investigation.

Perry Township

— Holly Roberts, 59, Salem, was cited for failure to yield after her southbound vehicle on state Route 9 struck a vehicle driven by Sarah Loudon, 38, Massillon, at 6:29 p.m. Wednesday. Both drivers and one passenger, whose name was not listed, were transported by EMT to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

— Officers stopped for a disabled motor vehicle in the 700 block of Benton Road at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday. One of the occupants, Christopher Brink, 43, Salem, was found to have an active warrant out of the Columbiana County Sherriff’s Office and was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail. A Salem police K-9 conducted a free air sniff on the vehicle, with a positive indication and subsequent search of the vehicle yielding raw marijuana. Melissa Brink, 43, Salem, was issued a citation for marijuana, which was seized without incident.

— Officers on patrol in the area of the railroad tracks on Cunningham Road at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday observed a suspicious. Officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle who advised he was just watching for trains.

— Officers responded to the area of Benton Road and Idaho Avenue at 10:19 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person having a mental crisis. When officers arrived, they located a man and woman struggling near the edge of the roadway. Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and determine that the woman was being transported to an inpatient mental health facility when she became violent toward her parents. EMT Ambulance responded and transported the woman voluntarily to Boardman for evaluation.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Johnson Avenue at 10:41 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that someone was tapping on her window and officers searched the area but were unable to locate anyone.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Benton Road at 4:43 p.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised that a person has been lying on the trampoline across the street not moving for over a day. Officers spoke with the property owner who advised that they have not seen anyone in the area of the trampoline. Officers verified that there was nobody on the trampoline nor in the immediate area.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of state Route 344 at 2:23 p.m. Monday for a report of a dog attacking chickens. Officers found damage to chicken coops and chickens, and viewed trail cam footage, observing what appeared to be a husky damaging the property. Officers were unable to catch the dog or identify the owner.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of East Pidgeon Road at 12:10 p.m. Monday for a report of a structure fire. Officers marked the driveway for the fire department and assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Johnson Avenue at midnight Monday for a report of a suspicious person banging on a residence door multiple times and taking off. Officers searched the area using thermal cameras but were unable to locate the person at that time.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Johnson Avenue at 10:54 p.m. Nov. 26 for a report of a suspicious person banging on a residence door. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 4:21 p.m. Nov. 26 for a reported domestic dispute. Officers spoke to the caller who stated her husband and her grandson had been arguing and she was concerned. Officers spoke with the husband and grandson and were advised nothing physical had occurred.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of Allen Road at 10:19 a.m. Nov. 26 for a wellness check. Officers found that the caller had a protection order against the subject of the welfare check, whose name was not listed, and was taken into custody for violation of a protection order and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
