Perry Township

— Officers on patrol in the 500 block of Snyder Road at 2:29 a.m. Monday located a suspicious vehicle in a nearby business parking lot. Officers spoke with two individuals and advised them to leave the premises and that officers would contact the property owner in regard to possible trespassing charges.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of Prospect Street at 10:24 p.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers were unable to locate anyone when they arrived.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of Depot Road at 10:28 p.m. Sunday for a report of a possible vehicle theft. Officers spoke with the homeowner who advised that he heard his vehicle horn going off and went outside to find a man in his vehicle. Officers were able to locate Phillip Cline, 50, Salem, adjacent to the residence in another vehicle. It was discovered that Cline had an active warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody and transported to the Columbiana County Jail, Charges are pending an investigation into the vehicle theft.

— Officers stopped in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 12:54 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle that had been parked next to a gas pump for several hours. Officers spoke with the driver who advised that they had lost their wallet and were having issues with their blood sugar. The driver advised he was okay prior to leaving.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of Georgetown Road at 9:15 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible domestic dispute. Officers spoke with the caller who advised her friend’s son was screaming and breaking things. After speaking with all parties involved, officers concluded the matter was just a verbal altercation and nothing physical had taken place. The son made arrangements to leave for the night.

— Officers responded to state Route 344 at 5:11 p.m. Friday for a report of a possible juvenile walking on the road. Officers spoke with the woman in question, who was not a juvenile and was just walking to a friend’s house.

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of Southridge Drive at 6:20 p.m. Thursday to assist with a medical call. Officers stood by until no longer needed.

— Marland Billiter, 51, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after their westbound vehicle on state Route 14 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Mary Dutton, 57, Girard, at 5:06 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Elberon Avenue at 2:39 p.m. Thursday for a reported civil issue. The caller advised that his ex-girlfriend had some of his belongings in her house and was refusing to give them back. Officers spoke with the ex who denied having any of his belongings. Officers advised both parties that it was a civil matter and to contact their attorneys.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:44 a.m. Thursday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers were unable to locate the individual in question.

— Officers responded to the area of U.S. Route 62 near Country Club Lane at 9:40 p.m. Dec. 6 for a report of a vehicle traveling in excess of 100 miles per hour toward the township. Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate any vehicles matching the description.

— Officers responded to the 300 block of Lake Avenue at 7:21 p.m. Dec. 5 for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers spoke with the owner of the vehicle who advised he was a private contractor working on the house across from the caller’s. Officers spoke with the homeowner.

— Officers responded to the area of Franklin Avenue and Broadway Avenue at 9:21 p.m. Dec. 4 to assist Salem police with a report of a physical altercation. Officers assisted until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:04 p.m. Dec. 3 to assist Salem officers in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-skip. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

— Officers responded to the area of Parkview Drive and North Lincoln Avenue at 5:14 p.m. Dec. 3 for reports of a tree in the roadway. Officers and the fire department cleared the tree from the roadway.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 3:10 p.m. Dec. 3 who has continually reported someone knocking on the door of their residence in the 1300 block of Johnson Avenue late at night. The person advised the actions may escalate to more than knocking on the door. Officers took the report.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of West State Street at 11 a.m. Dec. 3 for a civil matter. The callers advised that her and her husband were separating and he wouldn’t let her take items from the residence. Officers advised both parties that the matter was a civil issue and they should contact their attorney for advice.
