County Sheriff

— A deputy was dispatched at 4:41 p.m. Sunday to a residence on Sandy Creek Road, West Township, with a dog inside. The home supposedly went back to the bank and no one is living there. The deputy spoke with the homeowner, who is still living at the residence and advised the process is going through foreclosure now.

— A warrant for domestic violence was issued out of Columbiana County Municipal Court for a man after deputies were dispatched at 9:38 p.m. Saturday to Lotze Drive, Unity Township for a domestic violence report.

Leetonia

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Columbia Street at 7:47 p.m. Monday for a juvenile complaint. The caller advised that the juveniles had thrown a rock which went into the driveway next to where her dog was. Officers spoke with the juveniles who apologized and advised that it was just ice not a rock, but that he would handle it.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of Valley Driver at 6:12 p.m. Saturday for a reported crash with minor injuries. A vehicle driven by Kaleb Brown, 23, Leetonia, had gone off the right side of the roadway striking a tree causing minor injuries that were treated on scene by EMS. Brown was cited for failure to control.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of State Street at 3:39 p.m. Friday for a wellness check requested by a counseling center on a patient that had made concerning comments. Officers spoke with the patient, advising them that due to their comments they must either willingly go to the emergency room or she will be pink slipped. The patient advised she did not want to go by ambulance and would drive herself to the Salem emergency room. Officers contacted the Salem emergency room half an hour later to ensure she had actually admitted herself, which staff confirmed.

Liverpool Township

— An officer checking traffic speeds on Boring Lane on July 21 clocked a vehicle going 43 mph in a 25 mph zone at 6:04 p.m. and conducted a traffic stop. The officer issued a citation for speed with a court date to the driver identified as Leonard Nichols, age and address not provided.

— An officer responded to the 2400 block of Lisbon Avenue on July 30 at 3:06 p.m. for a report of a fight. The officer spoke with Jacob Densmore, age and address not provided, who said Brian Stowers is not to have any contact with his daughter and he was filming her while she was swimming. The altercation was recorded on cell phone video. Both Stowers and Densmore began throwing punches. Stowers was transported to East Liverpool hospital for treatment of his injuries. Both Stowers and Densmore were cited for disorderly conduct.

Salem

— Officers responded to the 2700 block of East State Street at 11:09 p.m. Sunday for a large group of people to be removed from the property. Officers spoke with the people, advising them of the complaint, and they advised they would leave for the evening.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of South Avenue at 8:02 p.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious man entering the property. Officers spoke with the man, Joshua Jesiolowski, 31, who was instantly detained due to his demeanor, and the fire department and EMT responded. Jesiolowski was undetained and was being transported to the hospital by EMT when he began destroying property within the ambulance and attacked medical personnel. Jesiolowski then exited the ambulance and ran up to the police cruiser and attempted to fight officers. Officers took him into custody after further resistance and placed him in the back of the cruiser while he continued resisting. During this time Jesiolowski had managed to work his hands in front of him and free one hand. During the fight Jesiolowski was OC sprayed and tased. Once secured Jesiolowski was transported to the hospital by the fire department and EMT transported one officer to the Salem hospital while another EMT unit transported a second officer to Saint Elizebeth’s Hospital. Jesiolowski was charged with criminal damaging, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and felonious assault.

— Officers responded to the 500 block of Washington Avenue at 4:53 p.m. Sunday for a report of unauthorized use. When officers arrived, the caller refused to sign a stolen/unauthorized use form and pursue anything further.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 3:27 p.m. Sunday for a report of a suspicious person. Officers spoke with the caller and took possession of the items in question.

— Officers responded to the 2200 block of Oak Street at 2:15 p.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised they were fine.

— Officers responded to a business in the 2700 block of East State Street at 6:19 a.m. Sunday for a report of two people causing a disturbance. Officers spoke with an employee who advised that the person in question had left prior to officers arriving on scene. Officers advised them to contact them if the people returned.

— Officers responded to a business in the 200 block of North Cunningham Road at 1:24 a.m. Sunday for a report of people to be removed. Employees advised that three men were in the pool area intoxicated and destroying property. The men were located behind the building and were advised of the complaint. Officers observed the damages and escorted the men to their rooms to gather their belongings and they left the premises with their boss.

— Officers on patrol on East Pershing Street at 10:57 p.m. Saturday conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration and equipment violation. The driver, Ashley Miller, 34, was advised of the reason for the stop and issued a citation for driving under suspension.

— Officers checked a business in the 900 block of Newgarden Avenue at 9:18 p.m. Saturday for a reported suspicious activity. Employees were still working when officers arrived.

— Officers on patrol in the 300 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 8:09 p.m. Saturday observed a wanted person. Officers stopped the person, Timothy Lodge, 34, Salem, and confirmed the warrant, taking him into custody and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 2900 block of East State Street at 7:35 p.m. Saturday for a reported reckless driver. The caller advised that the vehicle was swerving in the roadway before entering the parking lot of Home Depot. Officers spoke with the man, determining him not be impaired and advising him to drive home safely.

— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 5:24 p.m. Saturday regarding a previous incident. Officers were able to obtain a written statement.

— Officers responded to the 1900 block of East Pershing Street at 4:51 p.m. Saturday for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers located the object, which was a drain cover, and were able to place the cover back over the drain.

— Officers spoke to a person at the police department at 4:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of a bicycle stolen from Waterworth Memorial Park. The bike’s information was collected, and officers will be on the lookout for the stolen bicycle.

— Officers on patrol responded to the 200 block of Vine Avenue with the fire department at 3:46 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person that had fallen. Officers stood by until no longer needed.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Fair Avenue at 1:06 p.m. Saturday to attempt to make contact with a city resident on behalf of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office. Officers were unable to contact the person in question.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 12:40 p.m. Saturday for a reported assault. The caller advised he had gone to the residence to confront the resident about a late fee he had caused at the library under the caller’s name, and that the two had gotten into a physical altercation over the matter. Officers spoke with the resident who advised that the physical altercation had occurred, but it had been because the caller entered his residence uninvited and unannounced. Neither party wanted to pursue any charges and officers advised them to stay away from one another.

— Officers responded to the 800 block of Prospect Street at 11:58 a.m. Saturday for a reported breaking and entering. Officers found the rear door of the property to be kicked in and a witness advised several juveniles had run from the building prior to officer’s arrival. Due to the circumstance’s officers notified a detective who responded to the scene, and three juveniles were subsequently arrested, with two transported to the Tobin Center.

— Officers responded to the 1800 block of East State Street at 1:59 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a suspicious person. The caller advised a man did not seem to be acting right. Officers spoke with the man, finding no issue, and sent the man on his way.

— Officers responded to the 100 block of South Broadway Avenue at 11:53 p.m. Monday for a reported domestic dispute. It was reported that the male half had been upset with his girlfriend over relationship issues, so he came over to the residence and an argument ensued. The female party was trying to lie down for the night and it was advised that the male half continued to argue with her and pulled the blankets off her. She also reported her hair being pulled, but there was no injury. The male half, who was extremely intoxicated and didn’t live at the residence, was transported home.

— Officers responded to the 200 block of Ohio Avenue at 8:44 p.m. Monday for a barking dog complaint. Officers spoke with the owner and advised them that due to the number of complaints concerning this issue, further complaints could result in citations. The owner took the dog inside.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Continental Drive at 7:38 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised he had not been able to contact his mother for a few days. Officers made contact with the resident who advised she was fine and would contact her son.

— Officers responded to Centennial Park at 5:18 p.m. Monday for a report of a fight in progress. Officers checked the area, finding the parties involved on East Pershing Street across from the park. They advised they were only shadow boxing and not really fighting due to a car beeping their horn at them. After officers identified them, they were advised that one of them, Corey Cantwell, 24, had an active warrant out of Columbiana County. The warrant was confirmed and Cantwell was taken into custody without incident and transported directly to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 3:41 p.m. Monday to report threats of serious physical harm by another woman at their place of employment. The woman did not want to pursue any charges at that time but requested the incident be documented. Officers also advised the woman how to obtain a protection order, and she advised she would be going to file for one.

— Officers responded to the 600 block of East State Street at 3:05 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. The caller advised her mother had exited their vehicle and started walking and that she may be impaired. Officers were provided a clothing description of the woman and checked the area but were unable to locate her.

— Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:22 p.m. Monday for a report of a dog in a van pawing at the windows. Officers observed the vehicle to be running and the air conditioning to be on.

Perry Township

— Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Union Avenue at 4:12 a.m. Monday for a medical call. Officers were advised the person in question was having a hard time breathing with an altered mental status, and they were transported by EMS for treatment.

— Officers spoke to a woman by phone at 9:24 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man who was arrested for domestic violence against her having his sister contact her on his behalf even though he isn’t supposed to have any type of contact with her. Officers advised they would inform the prosecutor’s office of the situation.

— Officers responded to the area of Euclid and South Avenue at 8:36 p.m. Sunday to assist Salem police in detaining a man.

— Officers responded to Salem Acres at 10:49 a.m. Sunday for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the person in question who advised she was okay and officers informed the caller.

— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Benton Road at 9:56 a.m. Sunday for a report of harassment. The caller advised that his ex-girlfriend was contacting him through multiple platforms of social media. After the caller blocked her on all platforms she showed up at his place of residence and she trespassed from the residence and advised to cease contact.

— Officers on patrol in the area of Beechwood and Allen Road at 5 a.m. Sunday located a suspicious vehicle. Officers checked the vehicle, finding it to be unoccupied and secure.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Benton Road at 11:17 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers were advised the vehicle had left prior to their arrival. Officers checked the area finding nothing to be out of place.

— Officers responded to the area of Painter Road at 9:48 a.m. Saturday for a report of debris in the roadway. Officers removed a branch lying across the roadway.

— Officers on patrol in the 1800 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:07 a.m. Saturday were waved down by bystanders for a report of a man having a medical emergency. EMT responded and transported the man to the Salem Regional Medical Center for treatment.

— Officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 6:36 p.m. Friday for a wellness check. The caller requested a check on the children as she believed there were not any adults in the residence with them. Officers spoke with a babysitter who let officers check on the children, who officers found to be okay.

— Officers responded to the 700 block of Benton Road at 12:47 a.m. Friday for a report of a man who left his home intoxicated on his motorcycle. Officers searched the area for the man with Salem officers but were unable to locate him.

— Officers responded to the 3000 block of New Garden Road at 6:04 p.m. Thursday to assist Salem officers in making contact with a person outside city limits.

— Officers responded to the 400 block of Plymouth Place at 11:39 a.m. Thursday for a reported domestic dispute. The caller advised that he was at his mother’s house to attend to her and try to get her affairs in order because he believes she is showing signs of dementia and not wanting to cooperate. Officers spoke with the mother who advised her son is mentally abusing her and does not want him at the residence, and that he wants money. Officers retrieved the caller’s notebook and he left the residence. Officers did not observe any signs of violence.

— Officers responded to the 1600 block of state Route 344 at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a custody issue. The caller advised the mother had failed to return the children per their court order. Officers were able to make contact and found both children to be okay. Officers advised both parents to contact the courts and advised them of the issue and concerns.

— Officers on patrol in the area of U.S. Route 62 located a suspicious vehicle at the end of the interchange at 3:58 p.m. July 26. Officers spoke with the driver who explained he had pulled over to make a phone call.

— Officers responded to the 900 block of Canterbury Lane at 9:52 p.m. July 24 for a reported domestic dispute. Officers found Alex Croxall, 19, Salem, to be extremely intoxicated, placing him into custody for underage consumption and transporting him to the Columbiana County Jail.

— Officers responded to the 1700 block of Harding Avenue at 7:11 p.m. July 24 for a domestic complaint. Officers found the incident to be verbal in nature and found that the male half had an active warrant out of Pennsylvania. Officers placed the male half, Nicholas Witherspoon, Salem, into custody charged with fugitive from justice and transported to the Columbiana County Jail.
