Salem
— Officers responded to the area of East State Street and Highland Avenue at 5:24 a.m. Saturday in reference to a man wearing a white tank top standing in the roadway flashing money. Officers checked the area but were unable to find anyone matching the description or anyone in the roadway.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of Jennings Avenue at 8:40 p.m. Friday in reference to a verbal dispute and advised everyone involved to stay away from each other. Officers returned at 10:04 p.m. when a resident reported his ex-girlfriend grabbed him by the throat, trying to choke him. The ex-girlfriend said the complainant had fallen down the stairs. The complainant said he did not want the ex-girlfriend at the home anymore and officers stood by while she gathered her belongings and left.
— Officers responded to the area of Barclay Avenue and Maple Street at 8:25 p.m. Friday in reference to a smoke investigation and found a rubbish fire burning inside a fire pit. The fire department informed the resident about open burning laws and extinguished the fire.
— Michael Paul Terrigan, no age listed, Canton, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after an officer assisted the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force with an incident in the 100 block of West State Street at 8:12 p.m. Friday in which he was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and $200.
— Justin A. Gibbs, 36, Cleveland Street, Salem, was charged with disorderly conduct after a patrolling officer at 6:57 p.m. Friday observed him in an altercation with another person in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue. Gibbs and the other person were found to be intoxicated and advised to stop making a scene. The other person complied and left for a friend’s house, but Gibbs allegedly refused to listen to officers.
— Police responded with the fire department to the baseball field off of Maple Street at 5:53 p.m. Friday in reference to an assault. The complainant provided a description of the male suspect and was transported to the hospital by her mother. Officers were able to locate the alleged suspect at his place of employment and found that he had never left work and was nowhere near the scene at the time of the reported incident. The complainant said she would provide a written statement when released from the hospital.
— Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 2:51 p.m. Friday to assist the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. Officers detained the person in question and transported him back to the police station where he was turned over to the highway patrol for transport to the county jail.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 1600 block of Shady Lane at 12:04 p.m. Friday in reference to an open burning complaint. Officers stood by while the fire department extinguished the fire. The resident was issued a verbal warning.
— Officers responded with the fire department to the 2200 block of Lexington Avenue at 8:57 a.m. Friday in reference to a woman found deceased from apparent natural causes. The coroner’s office was advised of the incident.
— Officers responded to the 1500 block of Merle Road at 6:58 a.m. Friday where a resident reported her daughter had run away overnight. Officers checked a possible location for the juvenile and discovered her there. The juvenile was returned home.

— Benjamin Kuhlen, 26, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension stemming from a traffic stop after his southbound vehicle on Pine Lake Road was observed with a loud exhaust at 6:50 p.m. Monday.
— Jennifer Walter, 49, Salem, was cited for driving without a valid license stemming from a traffic stop after her southbound vehicle on Pine Lake Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
— Denise Cantlon, 53, Alliance, was cited for speeding after her westbound vehicle on state Route 165 was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 1:17 p.m. Monday.
— Carlos Lopez, 26, Gibsonis, Pennsylvania, was cited for speeding, no operator’s license and child restraint system stemming from a traffic stop after his eastbound vehicle on West South Range Road at 3:56 p.m. July 23.
— Victoria Gutierrez, 33, Salem, was cited for expired registration after a random registration check on her vehicle on Youngstown Salem Road showed the registration to be expired at 7:10 p.m. July 22.
— Mary Hartley, 44, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension after a random registration check on her westbound vehicle on Alliance Salem Road showed the owner to be suspended at 3:50 p.m. July 22.
— Damien Hamilton, 24, Salem, was cited for speeding after his westbound vehicle on state Route 165 was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 3:55 p.m. July 22.
— Maureen Ridel, 60, Canfield, was cited for right of way after his eastbound vehicle on Salem Unity Road failed to yield, striking a vehicle driven west by Robert Bezon, 78, Salem, at 5:20 p.m. July 21. Bezon and his passenger Janet Bezon, 76, Salem, were transported to Saint Eilzabeth’s Hospital Main by the Green Township Fire Department for suspected minor injuries.
— Clinton Scott, 45, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension stemming from a traffic stop after his southbound vehicle on Main Street was observed with a loud exhaust at 4:10 p.m. July 21.
— Brent Thompson, 47, Salem, was cited for a seatbelt violation stemming from a traffic stop after his northbound vehicle on state Route 45 ran a stop sign at 5:34 a.m. July 21.
— Kevin Bleich, 35, Salem, was cited for OVI after his northbound vehicle on South Salem Warren Road attempted to turn east onto a private drive and drove into a ditch north of the drive at 11:40 p.m. July 20. No injuries were reported.
