Liverpool Township
— Officers were dispatched to Clark Street on July 15 at 5:38 p.m. for a disabled vehicle in the roadway. Officers spoke with the owner who said the front tire had mechanical failure and he had already contacted Calcutta Towing.
— Officers were dispatched on July 18 at 2:29 p.m., to Shadyside Lane for a semi-truck which had pulled over power lines. Liverpool Township Fire Department helped close down the road until the proper company could come out and remove the wires from the roadways.
— An officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of LaCroft Avenue for a report of a theft of a bicycle. The female said she believed the bike was taken by a group of juveniles and that a neighbor up the road had video of who took the bike. The bike was located and retrieved from the city playground. The guardians of two of the juveniles involved was advised that the prosecutor won’t charge a 6-year-old, but the 16-year-old could face petty theft charges. The video footage and report will be forwarded to the juvenile prosecutor for review.
Perry Township
— Officers responded to the 1200 block of Stewart Road at 6:21 p.m. Sunday for a report of a man soliciting. The man had already left the area prior to officers’ arrival.
— Corey Householder, 34, Kensington, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his northbound vehicle on state Route 9 struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Loran Weingart, 80, Salem, at 11:18 a.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West Fourteenth Street at 6:16 a.m. Sunday for a reported noise complaint. Officers spoke with a man who was advised of the complaint.
— Officers assisted Salem officers at 4:11 a.m. Sunday by contacting a man’s mother to transport him home from the city.
— Officers responded to the 900 block of West Pigeon Road at 11:24 a.m. Saturday for a report of property damage. The caller advised that the company paving the road has been parking equipment in her yard without approval and has caused significant damage to her yard. Officers collected the caller’s information and will follow up with the paving company to resolve the matter.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Plymouth Place at 8:54 a.m. Saturday for a report of theft. The caller advised that her nephew had taken some jewelry from her home while he was helping with yard work. The caller provided officers with a receipt from a pawn shop in Austintown where the stolen jewelry was taken. The matter is under investigation.
— Officers on patrol in the area of the U.S. Route 62 and state Route 45 at 3:03 a.m. Saturday located a crashed vehicle driven by Justin Ramsey, 27, North Lima. Ramsey was arrested on scene for assault of police officers, obstruction of official business, failure to control, driving under suspension and OVI.
— Lisa Staling, 56, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her vehicle on Benton Road struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Brittany Soules, 26, Salem, at 7:22 p.m. Friday. Both drivers refused treatment on scene from EMS and the fire department.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Stewart Road at 4:43 p.m. Friday for a report of fraud. The caller advised his computer was being hacked and he had purchased two bitcoins as instructed by the hacker. A report was taken and the caller was advised of his options.
— Officers spoke with a man at the police department at 1:10 p.m. July 20 for a report of fraud. The man advised he had received an email from PayPal claiming he had purchased Bitcoin for $860.90 and when he called the listed number, a man named Peter directed him to go around to different places to purchase gift cards totaling $2,380 in value. The caller gave the numbers off the cards to the man before realizing it was a scam and contacting his bank.
— Officers spoke to a woman at the police department at 7:01 a.m. July 20 who advised she had found a chiropractor in Sharon, Pennsylvania off a television advertisement and that she had paid them $12,000 for treatment. The caller said that after a few treatments she was not happy and her problem still continued so she asked for her money back and the doctor’s office refused to refund her the money. Officers advised her to contact an attorney.
— Officers responded to the area of Benton Road for a report of a reckless driver at 5:13 a.m. July 19. Officers observed the vehicle going off the roadway when turning left and conducted a traffic stop, finding the driver, whose name was not listed, to be unfit to drive.
— Officers responded to the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 6:18 p.m. July 18 for a wellness check. Officers spoke with the residents and determined everything was okay.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 12:19 p.m. July 18 for a reported neighbor dispute. The caller advised that her neighbor was outside screaming and yelling at her, claiming her youngest son was trying to stab one of her kids with a pocketknife. Officers found after speaking with everyone that the child was only showing the kids his brother’s pocketknife. The caller gave officers the pocketknife for safekeeping so that there would be no further issues.
— Officers responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 2:58 a.m. July 18 for a wellness check. Officers were unable to make contact at the residence but were later advised that everything was okay and they were sleeping.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Brittany Lane at 7:46 p.m. July 17 for a report of juveniles riding their bikes on the road. Officers patrolled the area for several minutes but were unable to locate anyone riding bikes on the roadway.
East Liverpool
— Officers were dispatched on June 18 at 4:22 p.m. to the 200 block of Vernia Street for a neighborhood dispute. Officers made contact with a female who advised neighbors were coming over to her family’s home after being told they weren’t welcomed there. The neighbor was advised to keep everyone on his own property and the female was advised to call the police back out if anyone comes back onto the property.
— An officer responded on June 18 at 1:34 a.m. to the laundromat on St. Clair Avenue for a report of a male trashing the bathroom then running away on foot. The male caller told the officer upon arrival that there were two suitcases in a dryer which he believed belonged to the suspect. The male was not located.
— An officer responded to a call reporting a female believed to be drunk walking up East 9th Street on June 18 at 3:13 p.m. The officers spoke with the female who said she was fine.
— An officer responded on June 18 at 10:31 p.m. to a parking complaint in the area of Vine and Fawcett streets. The officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle blocking traffic and he said he was in the process of moving the vehicle.
— Officers on June 18 at1:18 p.m. handled a complaint regarding a custody dispute in the 800 block Belmar Street. The father reported that despite a custody arrangement the mother is not letting him see his son and wanted a report on file so he could file contempt charges.
— Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Bank Street on June 19 at 11:55 a.m. for a report of harassment. The caller said the neighbor was threatening to tear their fence down. Officers, after speaking with both parties, advised a dispute over a property line was a civil matter which would have to be handled in court and that the property would have to be surveyed before the fence could be taken down.
— A female called the police station on June 19 at 6:17 p.m. and said she wanted to document a subject she knows made a threat to her.
— After receiving a call reporting that a male was making suicidal threats and might be dead on June 19 at 1:43 p.m., officers located the male who was surprised and said that he was fine and not thinking of hurting himself.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of West 6th Street on June 19 at 12:21 a.m. for a report of suspicious activity. The caller reported an open window at the church and a light on. The officer found the building to be secure.
— Officers responded to ABC Carry Out on Pennsylvania Avenue on June 19 at 6:11 p.m. for a report of an open door. Officers did find a door to be open to the abandoned building and entered with caution and cleared the building.
— An officer on June 19 at 12:23 a.m. responded to a report of a male threatening to hit a dog in the 800 block of Lisbon Street. The officer made contact with the caller who said a male tried to hit his dog with a baton while inside his fenced in yard. The officer made contact with the male who said the dog was not in the fence and he thought the dog was going to attack him. Officers advised the male if he was scared of the dog then to walk on the other side of the street when walking past the residence.
— An officer took a report over the phone on June 19 at 4:04 p.m. from a maintenance man at the dog groomers on West 6th Street who called to report a male coming to the back door and aggressively shouting at him and saying he was looking for his guitar. The male punched a hole in a board over that acted as window.
— Officers were dispatched to the playground in the Klondike neighborhood on June 19 at 10:04 p.m. for a report of a male and female yelling at each other. Officers talked to both parties to ensure everything was ok and sent them on their way.
— An officer responded on June 19 at 1:38 a.m. to the 700 block of Sophia Street for a report of suspicious activity. The resident told the officer that he observed two subjects in his backyard wearing all black and that they ran towards Daisy Lane. Officers checked the area but found no one.
— Officers responded to a custody dispute in the 300 block of North Shadylane on June 19 at 6:01 p.m. Officers spoke with the mother with whom the child resides and was told that the father removed the child from the parked vehicle and said he was taking him. There are no custody papers on file and the officers explained the court process. The father left the child with the mother and left the area.
— Officers were advised by Liverpool Township officers on June 19 at 2:10 a.m. that they observed three black males wearing masks. The males took off running when they noticed the police cruiser. East Liverpool officers searched the area and found nothing.
— Officers responded on June 20 at 10:03 a.m. to Highland Colon in reference to AT&T trimming trees near power lines along St. Clair Avenue. A resident was concerned with the workers coming onto her property due to her dog being aggressive.
— Officers responded to a Vine Street residence on June 20 at 1:18 p.m. to serve a protection order and vacate the premises. Officers stood by while the male returned the house key and gathered his belongings.
— Officers were requested on June 20 at 4:34 p.m. to the 100 block of Thompson Avenue for a report of three juveniles creating a disturbance. Officers spoke to the resident who said the juveniles were challenging her nephew and two other boys to a fight. The boys were going prior to their arrival.
— A Lee Street resident wanted to speak with an officer on June 20 at 6:07 p.m. about harassment involving his juvenile son. The matter was placed under investigation.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Putnam Street to remove a male from the residence. The male who was making suicidal statements was transported by ambulance to East Liverpool City Hospital.
— Officers were dispatched to state Route 7 on June 20 at 10:14 p.m. for a report of a reckless driver. The driver was not located.
— An officer responded to a report of a catalytic converter cut off of a vehicle to the 200 block of West 9th Street on June 20 at 7:10 a.m.
— Officers responded on June 20 at 4:56 p.m. to Daisy Lane for a report of a disturbance involving four to five people. All parties were advised to stay away from each other.
— Officers responded on June 20 at 12:21 p.m. to the playground on Mulberry Street for a juvenile complaint where one juvenile was bullying another. Officers advised the juvenile that his actions were uncalled for and if there were any more than charges would be filed.
— On June 21 at 10:36 p.m., a male came into the police station requesting assistance. The male said he signed out of East Liverpool City Hospital because he didn’t believe he was receiving proper care. After speaking with him, officers made arrangements with North Star EMS to voluntarily transport him to Trinity Hospital in Steubenville.
— An officer met a female at the 900 block of West 8th Street for a standby while she recovered an X-Box from the residence. When the officer arrived, the resident refused to answer the door. The female was advised this was a civil matter and she would have to utilize the court system to recover the item.
— Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of St. Clair Avenue on June 21 at 8:34 p.m. for a male and female arguing. Officers made contact with a female who said she was on the sidewalk with her daughter when the male came out and threatened them. The male said he came out to get his mail and she started yelling at him. The parties were separated.
— An officer took a vandalism report for a keyed vehicle on West 6th Street on July 21 at 9:37 a.m.
— An officer spoke with a male who wanted to report that someone threw something at his truck on June 21 at 12:38 p.m. The male reported that his windshield was broken and parts of his interior appear to be melted. There were no witnesses.
— Officers were requested to the 900 block of West 8th Street June 21 at 7:30 p.m. by a caller who reported several males outside of his residence wanting to fight him. Officers arrived and noted several individuals standing in an adjacent yard who said nothing happened. While there, officers observed Christopher Joy, 34, address not provided, who was known to have an outstanding warrant. After confirming the warrant, officers arrested Joy.
— Officers were dispatched to Ravine Street on June 21 at 6:45 p.m. to search for a silver Honda occupied by two people who supposedly shot a male in the face with an Orbeez gun five to six times. Officers were unable to locate the car and told the male if he sees it again to call the police.
— Officers were requested on June 21 at 7:44 p.m. to check on a male pedestrian in the area of state Route 7 and Shadyside. The caller reported the male appeared confused. Officers checked the area and found nothing.
— Officers were dispatched on June 21 at 9:28 p.m. to do a welfare check in the 1000 block of Mapletree or the 1700 block of Cleveland Avenue. Officers made contact with the male who appeared fine at Cleveland Avenue. Male said he would call his mother, so she was not worried.
— Officers responded on June 21 at 4:39 p.m. to the 300 block of Grant Street for a report of someone possibly stealing copper from the property. Officers found the residence secure, but after receiving additional information put the matter under further investigation.
— A male came to the police station on June 21 to report harassment in the form of text messages from his ex-girlfriend and her boyfriend. The male said he just wanted it documented in case something happened and to see if he could seek a protection order.
— Officers received a report on June 22 at 2:34 p.m. of unknown suspects who broke one of the benches at the Wharf and damaged the lights and covers. Rocks from the railroad were found lying around the wharf and are believed to be what the suspects used to damage the lights. There was graffiti on one of the buildings as well.
— Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 400 block of Vine Street on June 22 at 5:29 a.m. The female resident said that Chris Woolley,36, address not provided, had broken into the home and then left on foot. Woolley, who had previously been served a protection order, was charged with violating the order and arrested.
— Officers patrolling the area of Lisbon Street on June 22 at 2:55 a.m. discovered a male intoxicated juvenile lying in a ditch. The juvenile told officers he got tired walking from a friend’s house and decided to sleep on the side of the road. The parents were contacted to pick up the juvenile from the police station and the matter was sent to the juvenile prosecutor for investigation.
— Officers were dispatched to the Moose Lodge for an accident on June 22 at 11:38 p.m. Jordan Williams, 28, address not provided, who failed to make a right turn onto Washington Street and struck a building was arrested for OVI.
— Officers were dispatched to a Jefferson Street residence for a report of breaking and entering on June 23 at 4:29 a.m. The female caller said her ex broke into the house and she wanted him removed. Officers checked the residence and found the back door kicked in. The female said she didn’t want to pursue charges she just wanted him to leave. The male grabbed his belongings and left.
— Officers responded to the 1600 block of Etruria Street for a noise complaint on June 23 at 12:20 a.m. Officers after listening for noise coming from the residence and not hearing any spoke to the resident and asked why he was making noise. The resident was informed that if officers received any other noise complaints he would be cited.
— Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Palissey Street on June 23 at 6:23 p.m. for a neighbor dispute. The officer spoke to a male who said his neighbor threatened him and he had video. Officer did not hear threats on the video but did note the neighbor was angry. The other party said he did lose his cool but was at the breaking point with how he was being treated by the neighbors regarding a dispute over a sprinkler that goes off every day. The officer advised both parties to leave each other alone and advised them of the protection order route.
— Officers were dispatched on June 23 at 3:08 a.m. to Fawcett Apartments for a noise complaint. The caller said that a female was yelling in her apartment and keeping everybody up. Officers arrived and listened for excessive noise but only heard the female talking to herself.
— An officer patrolling Ravine Street on June 23 at 6:38 a.m. observed a sign out of place. The sign was from the Rite-Aid store on Bradshaw Avenue. After patrolling by the store and seeing the sign was missing, he reported the incident in case of a future report.
— Officers were dispatched to the area of Oak Street for a fireworks complaint. Officers advised the resident who was shooting off bottle rockets to stop.
— An officer went to a residence in the 700 block of Avondale Street on June 23 to serve a warrant but had negative contact.
— An officer observed a scooter on June 23 at 7:59 p.m. on Wilbert Avenue with no visible plates on June 23 at 7:59 p.m. He conducted a traffic stop and the driver Chelsey Beebout, age and address not provided, said she wasn’t aware she needed plates for a scooter. Beebout was issued a court date and citation for failure to display a license plate.
— An officer responded to a report of a car heading south on St. Clair Avenue with the rear door open on June 23 at 11:14 p.m. The officer searched the area but did not find the vehicle.
— An officer spoke to a female on June 24 at 2:18 p.m. in regard to threats she reported receiving from her ex-mother-in-law. The female wanted a report filed for documentation.
— An officer responded to an alarm on June 24 at 1:30 a.m. at the Wee the People Day Care. The officer found the building to be secure.
— An officer responded to the Elks parking lot for a report of a vehicle that had been running for several hours June 24 at 12:17 p.m. The officer contacted the owner who had someone shut the vehicle off.
— An officer responded to East Liverpool High School in the track parking lot for an accident report on June 24 at 10:03 a.m.
