— Officers on patrol in the 300 block of Pearl Street at 10:21 p.m. Thursday were requested to stand by while medics assisted a resident due to another person being a hindrance. Officers were advised that the resident was unresponsive from a suspected overdose, and officers stood by while the medics attempted to get the resident to lie down on a back board as they were not coherent and could not stand or walk on their own. The resident was transported to the Salem hospital emergency room.
Goshen
— Brigit Young, 54, Salem, was cited for driving under suspension stemming from a traffic stop after her northbound vehicle on state Route 534 was observed committing a marked lanes violation at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday.
— Officers on patrol on Alliance Salem Road at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday observed a vehicle with a tinted license plate cover. Officers conducted a traffic stop finding the driver, Rebecca Ward, 47, Alliance, to have a suspended license. While officers were confirming the suspension, they were advised that Ward had an active warrant for her arrest out of the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, and that the sheriff’s office did want Ward. Officers took Ward into custody and transported her to the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office. Ward was also issued a citation for driving under suspension.
— Dyllan Crowe, 25, Salem, was cited for driving without a license stemming from a traffic stop after his vehicle on Alliance Salem Road was observed with a brake light out, and an expired registration at 7:20 p.m. Monday.
— Officers responded to a business in the 13,000 block of West Middletown Road at 3 p.m. July 16 for a report of two men fighting in the parking lot. The men left before officers arrived.
— Casey Ralph, 20, Girard, was cited for speeding after his northbound vehicle on Youngstown Salem Road traveled at a speed higher than the speed limit around a curve and went off the road, into a ditch before exiting the ditch and overturning at 6:20 a.m. July 16. Ralph was transported to Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital by the Green Township Fire Department for suspected minor injuries.
— Kimberly Lamb, 38, Warren, was cited for speeding after his southbound vehicle on Beaver Creek Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 10:08 a.m. July 15.
— Francisco Lozoya, 20, Salem, was cited for speeding after his eastbound vehicle on West Garfield Road was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 8:21 p.m. July 14.
— Konner Rodriguez, 19, Campbell, was cited for speeding after his northbound vehicle on Main Street was observed traveling in excess of the speed limit at 5:21 p.m. July 14.
— Bryan Kratochvil, 39, Beaver, Pennsylvania, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his westbound vehicle on West South Range Road struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Brenda Ries, 70, Lisbon, at 12:35 p.m. July 14. No injuries were reported.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 600 block of Cedar Street at 3:20 p.m. Saturday to check the well-being of a woman. The woman told officers she wanted to go to the hospital and was transported by medical personnel to the Salem hospital.
— Officers responded to the area of North Lincoln Avenue and East Third Street at 1:08 p.m. Saturday in reference to possible shots fired. Officers checked the area and spoke with a couple residents who said they saw and heard a transformer surge in the area.
— Police responded to the 1400 block of Ridgewood Drive at 9:46 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported being harassed by an ex-girlfriend. He was advised of his options.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 12:22 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported someone attempting to break into her vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to find anyone.
— Two juveniles reported at 12:11 a.m. Saturday an unknown man and woman had followed them across town and to their home and then made an obscene gesture toward them approximately one hour earlier.
— Officers responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 9:19 p.m. Friday where a resident reported a known man had punched him in the face, causing a minor injury, before fleeing the scene on foot. Medical personnel arrived to assess the injury and the matter was forwarded to the county prosecutor’s office for review.
— Officers responded with the fire department to a possible fire in the 2400 block of Southeast Boulevard and found a business had filled with smoke from an oven. The smoke had cleared before the fire department arrived.
— The manager of a business in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue at 5:03 p.m. Friday requested a known man be trespassed from the business. The man was advised not to return to the business.
— Police responded to the 700 block of East Third Street at 4:16 p.m. Friday where a resident reported seeing a known man kick in the door to his home. Officers observed the door to be dented and lock broken. The matter was forwarded to the county prosecutor’s office for possible charges.
— Police responded to the 400 block of South Union Avenue at 12:26 p.m. Friday where a resident reported finding her vehicle had been egged.
— An officer responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 300 block of Continental Drive at 9:50 a.m. Friday in which a westbound vehicle collided with a northbound one at the intersection of Bentley Drive. Both drivers claimed the other one ran the stop sign, so no citation was issued due to conflicting accounts. No injuries were reported.
