Highway Patrol
– Lisa M. Booth, 48, Mansfield, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 10 p.m. Friday and hit a deer.
– Bruce E. Duffield, 48, Dyke Road, Rogers, was eastbound on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township and was struck by Taylor Reese Wolfe, 20, Silliman Street, New Waterford, who was southbound on Fairfield School Road and failed to yield from a stop sign. Wolfe was cited for failure to yield.
Columbiana
– The Lutheran Church on South Main Street reported theft of sound equipment at 5:32 p.m. Sunday.
– A woman reported at 9:15 p.m. Sunday that while going past Camelot Apartments she saw a man carrying a baseball bat leading a small girl in a black dress into the woods. Police checked and found it was father and his son and there were no problems.
– A woman reported at 10 p.m. Sunday a Golden Retriever dog without a harness was running at large on West Park Avenue and was chasing people. Police checked but did not find the dog.
– A man reported at 9:58 p.m. Sunday a white SUV entered the cemetery after dark. Police checked but did not find the vehicle.
East Palestine
– While working the street fair, a carnival worker informed police a boy was acting suspiciously at 10:28 p.m. Saturday. Police spoke to the boy, who behaved thoroughly uncooperative and was found to be armed with nine knives. The boy was cited with carrying concealed weapons and obstructing official business.
– A suspicious vehicle was found on Kemple Road near Exochem at 6:51 p.m. Friday where two children were messing around. Police spoke to the parents of the children and each were told to go home.
– High grass notices were sent for weeds at 1012 and 1014 N. Market; 806 N. Market; 1033 W. Main; 418 E. Taggart; 235 E. Main; 378 E. North; 243 W. North; 297 W. Clark St.; and 101 W. Clark.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported in an alley way off of West Clark Street at 1:32 a.m. Saturday. The car moved on.
– Sheila Guzzetti, who was walking past the high school, reported a man pulling on the doors trying to get inside at 9:46 p.m. Saturday. Police checked and learned it was the custodian making sure all the doors were locked.
– Jeffrey Rhodes, Hisey Road, reported at 12:21 a.m. Sunday someone backed into his vehicle. The other driver was Charles Colwell Jr., Bowden Road. No citations were issued.
– Near the park police found Travis Rhodes, South Market Street, who was nearly passed out, and with Alauna Pavlina, Circleview Drive, at 3:10 a.m. Sunday. They were both told to go home for the night.
Perry Township
– Police responded to the 300 block of East Pidgeon Road for a parking complaint regarding a yard sale at 11:42 a.m. Friday, but found no visible violations.
– Michael Hoops, Salem, was charged with OVI (refused test) and failure to control at 12:27 p.m. Friday. He had driven through a yard on Springdale and came to rest against a basketball pole. He was attempting to turn around his vehicle while towing a boat when officers arrived.
– An Apple Street resident reported Friday he had been contacted by a bill collection agency regarding a television bill over $1,000, the account of which had been opened in Delaware and since been closed.
– A patrolling officer at 10:04 p.m. Friday observed a suspicious vehicle with three individuals parked at the Egypt Road and East Pine Lake Road intersection at the gate of the closed roadway. None had warrants, but they also did not have valid driver’s license. The officer stood by until a valid driver arrived.
– Police responded to an 1100 block West Perry Street home at 7:30 a.m. Saturday where the resident reported finding his bedroom window open and money missing off his dresser when he returned home that morning.
– Police responded to a Countryside Drive home at 9:05 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported 11 fraudulent charges on her debit card.
– Police received a report about a dog chained up outside the humane society on South Lincoln Avenue at 2:29 p.m. Saturday. The caller was worried that it might get loose. The dog warden was contacted.
– Police responded to the Salem Country Club at 4:39 p.m. Saturday where an infant was having trouble breathing and stood by until medical personnel arrived.
– Police responded to the 1700 block of Allen Drive at 6:35 p.m. Saturday in reference to a dirt bike in the roadway and found a juvenile riding on his property. His parents were advised of the complaint.
– Police responded to 1900 block of state Route 344 at 9:39 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported seeing flickering lights in the wooded area north of state Route 344 and Cunningham Road. Officers checked the area and found people who were leaving a lake where they had been with permission from the property caretaker.
– Police responded to the 1500 block of Manor Drive at 11 p.m. Saturday in reference to a raccoon in a garage and stood by while the humane officer attempted to catch the animal.
– Police responded to the area of U.S. Route 62/state Route 45 and Goshen Road at 9:05 p.m. Sunday in reference to criminal damage to vehicle in which the driver was southbound and said that the vehicle was struck by an object thrown from a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction, damaging the windshield. A second motorist reported around the same time reported the driver of the same vehicle had also thrown an object at his vehicle, damaging it, also on the bypass near Goshen Road.
– Police responded to a West State Street home at 9:10 p.m. Sunday where the resident said a woman she knows punched her in the nose following an argument. The resident did not wish for medical treatment.
Salem
– Marian L. Christensen, 88, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance at 11:53 a.m. Sunday. She was northbound on Ellsworth and turned right onto State, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Kirsten K. Kuhns, 26, Lisbon.
– Jeffrey J. Cox, 33, Leetonia, was cited for driving under suspension and a turn signal violation after an officer at 4:26 p.m. Sunday saw him driving in the area of Lincoln and Fourth and knew he was suspended. The vehicle owner, Melanie S. Cox, 33, Leetonia, was cited for wrongful entrustment.
– Police responded to a dispute at a West Wilson Street home at 8:30 p.m. Sunday and found that the resident’s ex-boyfriend had punched her father in the mouth while attempting to gain entry into the home against his wishes. The ex-boyfriend fled the area, reportedly to his own home, but officers were unable to make contact with him there.
– Officers responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of West Fourth Street at 10:50 p.m. Sunday, but found no evidence of physical violence. One person requested an ambulance and was taken to SRMC.
Salem
– Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at a South Madison home at 9:06 a.m. Friday and found the home full of smoke upon arrival. It was a problem with the kitchen stove. The resident was taken to SRMC due to smoke inhalation.
– Firefighters responded to a report of an unattended fire in the 600 block of Cherry Street at 9:30 a.m. Friday. They found the resident and warned him about open burning laws.

County Sheriff
– A dispute was reported in the area of Brookfield Avenue and Center Street, Lisbon, at 3:26 p.m. Saturday. Jay Farrow told deputies a 15-year-old boy had stepped on two kittens and killed them. Farrow said he buried them, but was unable to show where. Deputies spoke to the boy who claimed he did step on one cat inside a burned down house, but believed it was already dead. Both were told to stay away from each other.
-Samantha Crosser, North Street, Salineville, reported at 12:18 p.m. Sunday while she was working at Mark’s Landing she believes she left the phone in the bathroom. She used an app to locate it. Deputies contacted Gregory Morland, Brookfield Avenue, who said he had the phone and was planning to return it once he determined who it belonged to.
– Twila French, Geiselman Road, Minerva, reported at 12:01 p.m. Sunday she is evicting her son, Samuel, and he turned off the water she uses to feed her livestock. He told deputies he turned off the water because he is the one paying for it and it was not in the lease agreement they signed when he rented the property. French said she will find another way to feed the livestock until he is evicted.
Columbiana
– Terry L. Pitzer, 65, Beard Road, New Waterford, was east on West Park Avenue at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday when an unknown object struck the passenger side of the vehicle causing damage.
– Duane Lee Beckley, 24, Salisbury, N.C., was north on Columbiana-Lisbon Road at 6:52 a.m. Friday in a JMC Distribution box truck and attempted to pass under the railroad bridge and damaged the box portion of the truck due to being over the height restriction. No citations were issued.
– Moni Stryffler, Parkview, reported at 12:25 a.m. Saturday four boys were possibly throwing things near her home.
– William Kurl reported at 1:39 a.m. Saturday two people were engaged in sexual activity on South Vine Street and it was waking the neighbors.
– A Farmer’s Bank employee reported at 8:34 a.m. Saturday a suspicious man was sitting by a tree near the employment entrance at the bank and requested police stand by so employees could go into the building. Police spoke with the man who said he had walked there to cash a check and was waiting for the bank to open.
– A man reported at 9:18 a.m. Saturday someone was digging in the woods behind St. Jude Church and hit an unmarked gas line. The fire department was called to stand by until the gas company arrived.
– A man reported at 9 a.m. Saturday two kids at the laundromat were on skate-boards running into carts and other things. Police checked but no one was there.
– A Stanton Avenue woman reported at 10:47 a.m. Saturday a neighbor was burning something the night before and it started up again and the smell was really bad. Police checked on the fire and no one was home. The fire department was called to extinguish the fire. The homeowner, Chris Ward, arrived as the fire department was finishing up and Ward was warned for open burning.
– A woman reported at 6:44 p.m. Saturday someone dropped off an elderly man at the Circle K and he was sitting outside the business. Police found the man lives on Salem Street and frequents the area.
Salem reports
– Police responded to Orchard Bend Drive at 7:32 a.m. Sunday where a newspaper carrier reported being threatened by a subscriber. The carrier had left when an officer arrived.
– At 12:05 a.m. Sunday, police in the 200 block of Woodland saw two men down on the sidewalk. One appeared to have a medical condition and was taken to the hospital.
– Michael Boggs, 2200 Goshen Road, was cited for an expired license and expired registration after a stop at Lincoln and State at 11:06 p.m. Saturday. He had contraband on him and more charges are pending.
– Police on patrol in the area of Lundy and Pershing at 5:33 p.m. Saturday found a complainant and a small unattended child. The parent was located. The child ran off while she was shopping and she was actively looking for the child.
– At 4:31 p.m. Saturday, police responded to North Ellsworth for a possible intoxicated person in the complainant’s backyard. He was highly intoxicated and police advised him to stay inside. A roommate said she would make sure he was looked after.
– At 1:50 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 700 block of West State Street and located two male subjects involved in a verbal dispute that turned into a physical altercation. One had left the scene and the other refused to talk about what happened.
– At 12:07 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street for a report of two dogs in a truck in apparent distress due to the heat. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
– Police responded to the 300 block of Washington Avenue at 11:41 a.m. Saturday regarding an ongoing neighbor complaint involving horn honking, trash in the yard, parking in front of the complainant’s house, speeding up and down the road, driving in his yard and cigarette butts in his yard. An officer spoke to the neighbor across the street who advised it had not been going on for three years as the complainant advised and it just started with the complaints of eggs being thrown. She advised that she tried to speak with the complainant but he said they couldn’t park in front of his residence even though it is a public street. None of the complaints have been called into the police department by the complainant or the neighbor and the officer advised them to all go their separate ways.
POLICE
County Sheriff
– Lisa Smith, Hummelstown, Pa., was arrested for improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle at 4:49 p.m. Friday at the Federal Correction Institute in Elkton. Deputies were called to the prison after prison officers reported finding a handgun and ammunition in the 2015 Toyota van driven by Smith. Deputies recovered the .38 special revolver and five live Federal .38 special hollow point rounds from a senior officer employed with the prison. The officer told deputies that he was conducting a random check of the vehicle when he opened the middle console and found the unloaded revolver. Five bullets were found in the ash tray next to the steering wheel. The officer also said that the passenger, Lizvette Campione of Myrtle Beach, S.C., told him that she came up to visit an inmate and had asked Smith to drive her there since she was not familiar with the area. Campione also told the deputy she and Smith consented to the random search. When officers told Smith the handgun was found inside the vehicle, she reportedly said she had forgotten it was in there. Campione also told officers she was not aware of the gun being inside the vehicle. Smith told the officers the gun was hers and had not put it in storage with her other items because she was worried someone may be able to break into the storage unit. She also told officers the gun was not loaded because she was told not to carry a gun that had bullets. She said she purchased the gun from a family member in the past and had never shot it before. She was then charged and taken to the county jail.
– Jennifer Everhart, Deacon Light Road, Lisbon, reported at 2:47 p.m. Friday her ex who is the father of her child was repeatedly sending her threatening text messages.
– Danise Moore reported at 6:25 p.m. Friday an air conditioning unit was stolen from 44627 Y&O Road. Deputies spoke with Moore’s mother, who lives there, and determined it was a civil matter between Moore and her mother over property still at the home. Moore’s mother told deputies she had allowed her daughter to move several items into the home and now wanted them removed.
– Steve Gray, Industry, Pa., reported at 8:56 p.m. Friday a red SUV backed into his vehicle while he was at Roger’s Food and Fuel in Elkrun Township.
– The manager of the Dunkin Donuts on state Route 45, Lisbon, requested at 1:50 p.m. Friday deputies remove a man from the store who was asking people for money and free food and speaking inappropriately. Deputies learned warned him not to return to the store or he would be charged.
– Brenda Brayshaw, Steubenville Pike, reported at 3:49 p.m. Friday she was being threatened over the phone by her son’s ex-girlfriend. Deputies found no threats had been made but that the woman wanted to get some of her personal property back.
Columbiana
– Police assisted the highway patrol with a rollover crash on Creek Road at 12:36 a.m. Friday.
– A man reported at 6:52 a.m. Friday a box truck went through the Columbiana Lisbon Road underpass and sheared off the top of the truck.
– Kevin Kirby of Columbiana was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on West Park Avenue at noon Friday.
– A South Elm Street landlord requested at 3:35 p.m. Friday police stand by while she checked the home where Austintown Police were on Thursday.
East Palestine
– Diane Kelly, East North Avenue, reported at 4 p.m. Tuesday she paid someone $4,000 to build a porch onto her home in May of 2015 and the porch has never been built and though she tried multiple times to get in contact with the person to get a refund, no refund was ever received. The matter is under investigation.
– Police were called to an East Taggart Street home at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday for a report that two boys living there were being disrespectful. Police spoke with the boys and the matter was handled by the caller.
– Kierstin Miller, Pinetree Circle, reported at 11:53 a.m. Friday she was bitten by her neighbor’s dog while walking yesterday evening.
– John Boley, Park Avenue, reported at 1:37 p.m. Friday there was a strong unpleasant odor in the neighborhood and he believed it was coming from the green building at Jasar Recycling.
Salem
– At 2:57 a.m. Saturday, police observed a man and woman in an argument in a parking in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue. They were identified, and the man, Jeremiah E. Burnette, 460 Columbia St., Leetonia, was taken to the county jail on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. The woman was given a ride home by a friend.
– At 7:55 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of E ast Second Street where the complainant advised a cell phone was taken from his vehicle.
– At 11:27 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to an accident in the 500 block of state Route 9 where the northbound vehicle operated by Megan M. Hoover, 1789 N. Lincoln Ave., went off the road striking a traffic sign, a house and another vehicle owned by James Ray, 571 state Route 9. Hoover, who had reportedly fallen asleep at the wheel, was not injured. She was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.
– Police responded to the North Union Avenue at 12:25 p.m. Friday where the driver said his front wheel fell off while he was driving.

County Sheriff
– Jan Glover, no address listed, reported at 5:51 p.m. Sunday she gave a woman named Holly Reese $15 so she could get a taxi ride from the Y-Inn in Rogers to East Liverpool. However, Reese then went outside, got into a parked vehicle and left.
– Beverly and Gary Kitts, Salem Alliance Road, Salem, reported at 8:42 p.m. Sunday on Friday Mike and Patty Downs came over to their trailer on Friday and during that time Mike Downs pulled down Patty Downs’ shirt exposing her for everyone in the trailer to see including a 12-year-old girl. The Kitts told them their behavior was unacceptable and told them to leave. Then, on Sunday, Downs reportedly told a neighbor if Gary Kitts had something to say, he could come to his house. Deputies spoke to the Downs and warned them to have no contact with the Kitts. The parents of the girl did not want to pursue charges.
– Jackie Sepherd, no address listed, reported there were two cows in the road on McIntosh Road in Madison Township at 9:20 p.m. Sunday. Deputies checked the area, but while they were there, the owner of the cows called dispatchers to report they were his cows and he had already gotten them back inside the fence.
– An employee of Rogers Food and Fuel reported at 6:08 a.m. Saturday she came in at 5 a.m. and found the pop machine was open and damaged. Video surveilance showed a person wearing dark shorts, a dark hoodie and a white shirt under it breaking into the machine while other cars drove past.
-John Kline, Bath, reported at 11:44 p.m. Friday he had been at Rogers Sale earlier and when he arrived home he noticed his license plate was missing. The plate number was EKW-6772.
Lisbon
-Police were called to the corner of South Jefferson Street and East Lincoln Way about a man with a possible broken leg at 3:35 a.m. Sunday. David W. Gilbert was found outside the Steel Trolley Diner and told police he hurt his knee after falling from his motorcycle when a woman pulled out in front of him. An ambulance crew arrived to transport him to a local hospital.
-The following people were cited for speeding over the weekend: Kenny A. Solomon, Ann Von Luhrte, Corey R. Higgins, William M. Owens, Lisa A. Komara, Christopher J. Perry and W.D. Mixon.
-Charles S. Cox was cited Friday for running a stop sign.
-Jeffrey R. Boals was cited Friday for running a red light.
-Dennis J. Edmond and Ralph Allgood Jr. were cited Friday for having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
-Grace M. McClester was cited Sunday for driving with an expired license.
-David W. Palmer, 30, was cited for failure to stop an assured cleared distance, leaving the scene of an accident and driving under suspension on Jackson Street at 4:37 p.m. Saturday.
Highway Patrol
– Eloise V. Traina, 75, East 11th Street, Salem, was southbound on Old Route 558 in Salem Township at 10:25 a.m. Saturday and negotiating a left hand turn and was struck by Daniel S. Moore, 16, who was northbound and went left of center in the curve. Moore was cited for lanes of travel.
– Frank L. Tompkins, 79, state Route 644, Salem, was northbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 11 a.m. Thursday and hit a dog.
– Dusty Michelle Diacontonas, 28, Sebring, was eastbound on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 7:40 a.m. Thursday and hit a deer.
– Richard A. Paxson, 32, Prospect Street, Salem, was southbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 7:52 a.m. May 16 and was struck by Hannah Nicole Deland, 16, Sheely Road, Lisbon, who was southbound on Lisbon Road and pulled from the stop sign. Deland was cited for right of way.
East Palestine
– Police were called to a report of illegal dumping behind 447 E. Clark St. at 5:16 p.m. Thursday.
– James Borelli, East Martin Street, reported at 7:37 p.m. Thursday he was having problems with a man he knows.
– A Brookdale Avenue woman reported at 8 p.m. Thursday she was having problems with her daughter, who was not listening to her.
– A man reported at 8:28 p.m. Thursday a man he knows had been slouched down on a neighbor’s porch on Park Avenue and then got up and started walking and he believed the man was possibly drunk. Police checked on the man and found there were no problems.
– Sandra R. Wilson, 56, West Clark Street, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on Brookdale Avenue at 9:43 a.m. Friday.
– Talina Mayle, 33, Bye Road, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on West Main Street at 11:37 a.m. Friday.
– Lois Guy, West Main Street, reported at 7:20 p.m. Friday her neighbors were doing lawn work on her property and she didn’t want them to be there.
– A Wood Street boy reported at 7:52 p.m. Friday his bicycle was stolen a few days ago. His mother later reported they had found the bike.
– A Park Avenue woman reported at 11:36 a.m. Sunday Jasar Recycling drivers were not following the rules of traffic.
– John Boley, Park Avenue, reported at 3:58 p.m. Sunday there was a beeping sound coming from the green building behind Jasar Recycling. Police found the noise was due to the company working that day.
– Cody Hill, 22, Hanoverton, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on East Taggart Street at 9:55 p.m. Saturday.
– Police noticed high grass zoning violations at the following properties on Saturday: 1062 W. Main; 226 Park; 684 E. Main; 584 E. Main; 418 E. Clark; 520 E. North; 251 E. North; 140 W. North; 212 W. Clark; 371 E. Martin and 540 E. Martin.
Columbiana
– Travis Crawford, 24, Wampum, Pa., was cited for open container following a traffic stop on St. Andrews Drive at 1:27 a.m. Sunday.
– Jane McCusker, Spinnaker Court, reported at 5:17 a.m. Sunday there was a suspicious person at a home on Spinnaker Court. Police found a boy and returned him to his parents.
– A man reported at 11:12 a.m. Sunday there was graffiti on a building on South Main Street.
– A 7&14 restaurant employee reported at 2:37 p.m. Sunday a woman was asking customers for money and had indicated she was possibly in an argument with her boyfriend that was outside. Police spoke with Hollie Reese, 26, East Liverpool, and found there had been no threat of violence. She was then asked to leave the property.
– A Circle K employee reported at 7:37 p.m. Sunday two boys were riding bicycles between traffic in the parking lot.
– A man reported at 7:41 a.m. Friday he was following a vehicle in Leetonia and it hit a telephone pole and then he took off. Police found the vehicle on state Route 344 and waited until Leetonia police arrived.
– Tom Pyatt reported at noon Friday he was behind a reckless driver who was passing on the right side on state Route 7. Police notified the highway patrol.
– A woman reported at noon Friday there was a man staggering on the sidewalk who kept getting close to the road and appeared to be intoxicated. Police warned Ronald Brewer, 55, Columbiana, for disorderly conduct and released him to his wife.
– Police warned a Back Bay resident for open burning at 2:39 p.m. Friday.
– Steve Garasic reported at 2:34 p.m. Friday his vehicle was backed into by a pickup truck in the Napa Auto parts parking lot.
– Shawn Mercer, 45, Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Fairfield Avenue at 8 p.m. Friday.
East Liverpool
– While on patrol at 3:22 a.m. Sunday, an officer reported seeing Travis L. Keener, 29, Bank Street, roll through a stop sign at Lincoln and Ninth. Keener was stopped on Prospect Street, where he was found to be driving under suspension and asked to exit the vehicle. The officer reported Keener began stuffing something between the seat and console and the officer pulled him from the vehicle. At that time, the officer saw a knife with an eight-inch blade lying on the driver’s seat. In between the seat and console was found a baggy containing suspected narcotics, and Keener also had two additional bags containing suspected narcotics stuffed into his waistband. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, driving under suspension and a stop sign violation, with the suspected narcotics sent for testing.
Salem
– A resident from the 400 block of West School Street called police at 2:28 p.m. Monday to report his roommate/landlord had been making threats to allegedly harm him. He wanted to file a report on the incident. Police had been called to the same property at 1:54 p.m. Monday for a domestic dispute. A man said he was having issues with his brother-in-law and wanted him to leave. He said he issued a three-day eviction notice, but was advised by police he must file with the court. He wanted the person removed from the premises.
– A dispute was reported in the 500 block of Cedar Street at 2:27 p.m. Monday. A woman said the next door neighbor had brush laying against the fence to her property and had been asked multiple times to move it. Officers made contact with the neighbor who agreed to move the brush.
– A resident in the 600 block of Olive Street reported lines in the road at 12:37 p.m. Monday. Officers stood by until the fire department arrived. It was determined to be a cable wire that had been ripped off by a delivery truck.
– Officers assisted Children Services in an investigation at a residence in the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 11:42 a.m. Monday. The guardian of the children was present and cooperated with the case worker.
– Police were called at 10:48 a.m. Monday to respond to a verbal dispute in the 1400 block of Oak Street but were unable to find the people in question.
– A woman who came to the police station at 10:42 a.m. Monday reported a male driving around the city on a suspended license.
– Councilman Clyde Brown called police at 10:32 a.m. Monday to report a vehicle parked on the sidewalk in the 500 block of East Pershing Street. An officer made contact with a worker at the business and advised them of the complaint.
– An officer on patrol at 10:30 a.m. Monday located a vehicle parked at the rear of a closed business in the 1800 block of East State Street. The vehicle was unoccupied and had a broken wheel.
– Police were dispatched at 9:11 a.m. Monday to the First Baptist Church, 1290 E. State St., for a theft report. The pastor of the church advised the mailbox was taken sometime between Thursday and Monday.
– An officer on patrol at 6 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Franklin noticed a person having trouble loading an item into her vehicle. The officer stopped and provided assistance.
– An officer at 2:32 a.m. Monday saw a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of South Lundy in a parking lot. The tow vehicle was running and did not appear to have anyone inside. The driver of the vehicle had the seat back and was attempting to sleep.
– Justin Sommers, 26, of 1175 E. Third St., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence after a traffic stop Sunday night at Woodland and State shortly after police were called to a domestic dispute at his residence at 10:44 p.m. Sunday. An officer saw the vehicle and initiated the traffic stop.
– Police were called at 9:17 p.m. Sunday to the 900 block of Arch Street where a known male had been outside a residence attempting to make contact with a resident. He left before police arrived. Police made contact with him later and told him about the complaint and possible trespassing charges.
– A well-being check was requested for a resident in the 1300 block of South Lincoln at 8:11 p.m. Sunday. The resident was fine.
– An officer was flagged down at 4:43 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Lincoln Avenue where a flatbed was preparing to remove a vehicle left abandoned on a property for two months. Attempts had been made to contact the owner, but nobody was reached.
– A resident in the 600 block of Continental Drive reported at 4:15 p.m. Sunday that he and his roommate got into a verbal altercation. The roommate left to avoid a further problem.
Perry Township
– Police responded to the 1300 block of West State Street for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle report at 5:28 p.m. Sunday. A female was purchasing a vehicle off of the woman and violated a contract between the two of them.
– Brian T. Bell, 29, of 7443 Spillway Road, Lisbon, was cited for failure to assure clear distance ahead and leaving the scene of an accident after police were called at 12:23 p.m. Sunday to a hit/skip accident on South Lincoln Avenue between East Pidgeon Road an Snyder Road. A vehicle driven by Aaron May, 19, of Hanoverton, slowed in traffic and was struck in the rear by the Bell vehicle.
– Salem Police asked Perry Township Police to check on a reckless driver in the area of West State Street and North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:35 a.m. Sunday.
– An officer located a suspicious vehicle parked at the intersection of East Pine Lake Road and Egypt Road at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, occupied by two male juveniles and an 18-year-old female. The parties were identified and records checked for runaways or warrants. They were warned about trespassing and sent on their way.
– Police responded at 10:35 p.m. Friday to Old Coach Lane near Plymouth for a report of an ATV in the road, but were unable to locate anything.
– Police were called at 8:13 p.m. Friday to check the well-being of a 9-year-old female at a residence in the 1700 block of Goshen Road. A caller advised the father has visitation with the child and was highly intoxicated. Police spoke with the male who said the child was with another family member.
– While on patrol at 8:12 p.m. Friday, an officer caught two people dumping bags of grass clippings from a pickup at the closed section of Pine Lake Road at Egypt Road. They were identified and advised against illegal dumping.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 7:14 p.m. Friday on Depot Road between a male and female over relationship issues. Both parties said there was no violence, just arguing over possession of a cell phone.
– Police were called at 8:40 a.m. Friday to the intersection of Benton Road and Garfield Road for a report of a person sitting in his vehicle at a stop sign and not moving. An officer arrived and found the vehicle stopped at the stop sign on Garfield Road with the person awake, claiming to have fallen asleep on his way home from work. After further investigation, the driver, Michael Scott Vrabel, 52, of 521 W. Wilson and was found in possession of drug abuse instruments along with a white folded piece of paper with a brown substance believed to be suspected heroin in his possession. He was charged with possessing drug abuse instruments and taken to the county jail. The brown substance will be sent for further testing with further charges pending.
Goshen Police District
– An officer responded to the Colonial Villa trailer court at 7 p.m. May 19 where residents reported a woman had been talking to their children and they did not want her to. The woman was advised to stay off other people’s homes and stop talking to their children.
– Tyler Lee Antoniazzi, 21, Columbiana, was cited for assured clear distance on state Route 14 at Beaver Creek Road at 4:09 p.m. Saturday in which he was eastbound and slid into the rear of a vehicle driven by Larry W. Lippiatt Jr., 54, Salem, who was attempting to turn left. Lippiatt was treated on scene.

County Sheriff
– Deputies responded Saturday afternoon to a trailer park on state Route 45 in Center Township for a report of a private property accident, where they found a vehicle parked between two lots, a woman identified as Destiny Prohl in the passenger seat. She walked around to the driver’s seat and told deputies she was the driver. While speaking with her, the deputy noticed a man identified as David Palmer begin making a scene, raising his voice to a reserve deputy who was speaking to potential witnesses. Palmer kept walking toward the vehicle and arguing with deputies, calling the reserve deputy names. After being advised to stop his behavior several times, Palmer was charged with disorderly conduct.
– Deputies responded Sunday to the Thrashing Floor Chapel on Mattix Road in Center Township where Donna Mineard said she was receiving harassing phone calls and text messages from Dustin Brayshaw. They had been called the previous night to the same location for a domestic dispute between the couple and they had been advised to have no contact with each other or face charges. While deputies spoke with Mineard Sunday, Brayshaw called her twice, according to reports. Deputies went to Brayshaw’s residence on Steubenville Pike Road in Lisbon and arrested him for telecommunications harassment.
– Responding Sunday to Woodsdale Road in Butler Township for a report of a private property accident, deputies were advised by Donald Agnew, Votaw Drive, Lisbon, he was pulling from his driveway when his van brushed against the passenger side door of a vehicle owned by Terrance Kreeps, no address listed. There were minor scratches on both vehicles, which are insured.
– Deputies met Columbiana police officers Saturday morning at the Emily Sheldon residence on Balmoral Drive, which is just outside city limits, after she reported hearing someone at her kitchen door, trying to turn the door knob. She ran into the bedroom and called 911, saying she also thinks the person tried to get into the living room door as well. She reported that, earlier in the day, family members had taken her sister’s child to the Burger King so the father could meet them for visitation but he was angry because his wife had not brought the child. He left without taking the child, who was returned home.
– Keri Isenberg, Main Street, Homeworth, reported Sunday she is being harassed by her ex-boyfriend, who is upset that she now has a new boyfriend. She said he is making threatening Facebook comments to her and said he has assaulted her in the past but she had not reported it.
– Debbie Price, Salem Alliance Road, SAlem, reported she owns the gated path just east of the bridge on Applegate Road in Madison Township and four-wheeler riders are bypassing the gate going onto the property beyond.
– Mike Marston, state Route 558, Leetonia, reported his 15-year-old daughter has been receiving unwanted texts from a 17-year-old East Liverpool boy. He contacted the boy and told him to stop contacting his daughter. Deputies also called the boy, who said Marston’s daughter had contacted him, wanting him to text her and that he has already blocked her from his online accounts. He was advised to have no further contact with her.
– Deputies responded Saturday to the Winona Methodist Church in response to a person sleeping in the doorway and spoke with a man from Scottsdale, Ariz. He was sleeping on the concrete near the door and told deputies he had been in Hagerstown, Md., but learned his girlfriend had returned to Arizona and was trying to get back there himself. After checking with Salem police about getting the man a room for the night, deputies arranged a night’s stay through the Salem Ministerial Association at a local motel.
Highway Patrol
– While eastbound on state Route 558 May 14, Zachary L. Drane, 23, Carter Road, New Waterford, failed to stop for a stop sign, causing his vehicle to be struck by a vehicle driven by Nicholas C. Augostine, 20, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, who was northbound on state Route 164. Drane was transported by KLG ambulance to St. Elizabeth, while Augostine was transported by KLG to SRMC. Drane was cited for no seat belt and a stop sign violation.
– While northbound on state Route 170 at 5:08 a.m. May 16, Clara Sue Gamble, 71, Martin Street, East Palestine, traveled off the right side of the highway, striking a tree and overturning. The Negley Fire Department responded, and firefighters had to cut the roof from her vehicle to extricate Gamble, who told troopers she had no memory of what happened. She was transported to St. Elizabeth by helicopter, according to reports, which noted Gamble suffered two broken legs and two broken arms. No charges were reported.
Salem
– An officer responded to the 400 block of East Seventh Street at 9:57 a.m. Saturday where a resident reported someone overnight had thrown eggs at vehicles along the street. The officer observed approximately six vehicles that had been egged.
– Officers responded to a report of a mentally disturbed woman in the 1000 block of East Fourth at 9:59 a.m. Saturday and found the woman was upset about family issues but of no apparent harm to herself or others.
– An officer responded to an East Third home at 1:04 p.m. Saturday where a woman reported she was there to pick up some belongings and the washer she was renting was gone. The resident said it was a misunderstanding and he had given to a friend down the road. He was told to get it back, but the woman still wanted to press charges. All were told to go the station to fill out statements.
– Officers responded to a West School Street home at 1:54 p.m. Saturday where the resident asked officers to remove someone who had been living at the home since February. The resident was advised of eviction procedures. Officers returned to the home shortly after when the person to be removed claimed the resident has assaulted him by pushing and attempting to punch him in his living space, although there were no other witnesses. They were again advised of the eviction process and warned to stay away from each other until then.
– Police responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 4:17 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported shouting at a neighboring home. The argument was found to be verbal only.
– Edward B. Little, 50, Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash on Jennings Avenue at the bypass at 4:34 p.m. Saturday in which he was northbound and traveled off the roadway into the ditch. No injuries were reported.
– An officer responded to the 600 block of East Fourth Street at 6:30 p.m. Saturday where a resident reported a neighbor had let their dog defecate on the curb lawn and did not clean it up.
– Officers responded to the 1900 block of East State Street at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in reference to a dispute between two individuals and found it to be a verbal argument in which one of those involved was waiting for a ride to prevent it from escalating.
– William D. Cunning, 39, 663 W. Wilson St., Salem, was charged with felony domestic violence after officers responded to his home at 8:04 p.m. Saturday where he had allegedly assaulted his wife, who had visible injuries.
– Police responded to the 600 block of Franklin Avenue at 9:22 p.m. Saturday for a report of a dispute and found a resident who said his girlfriend had locked him out of the house. They were advised that since they both lived there, they could not lock each other out.
– An officer responded to a 600 block Jennings Avenue home at 1:50 p.m. Sunday where the resident reported someone overnight had taken a tow chain from the home.
Salem
– Firefighters responded to an East Fourth Street apartment complex at 8:26 p.m. Saturday where a resident had gotten stuck in an elevator. The resident had gotten out by the time firefighters arrived. Building management was advised to shut down the elevator and contact maintenance.

County Sheriff
– James Argentine, Farr Street, Rogers, reported Friday he observed on his security cameras two uknown males walking up the alley behind his house at about 8 a.m. One of the men had a weedeater and stood in the alley while the other went to Argentine’s back door and appeared to try to open it. The door is secured and not useable, so no entry was gained.
-Deputies responded Friday to the area of Old State Route 558 in Salem Township for a report of a missing 9-year-old, whose bus driver said he did not go home as he usually does. The boy was found safe and said he had taken a short cut through the woods instead of walking down the road to the house as he normally does. He was advised to stay on the secondary road in the future instead of walking along state Route 344.
East Liverpool
– Mary C. Goehring, Oakland Avenue, reported the rear brake line to her vehicle cut, possibly by a person she knows who has been making threats to her.
– Robert D. Jones, West Eighth Street, reported someoen entered his theft and took $200.
Salem
– Police responded to the 1100 block of Maple Street at 11:18 a.m. Thursday advising that $400 was taken from her purse while she was sleeping at home. The incident is under investigation.
– Police responded to the hospital emergency room at 12:45 p.m. Friday where the staff was having a problem with a patient who was not cooperating and police stood by until he calmed down.
– At 1:21 p.m. Friday, police received a report on station from a resident in the the 1900 block of East Pidgeon Road advising that some sort of cannon was shooting up the road and it was shaking their windows. Police said it would be checked.
– At 1:39 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 2900 block of East State Street for a problem regarding window washers at a business who were harassing the complainant.
– At 12:55 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 400 block of South Broadway Avenue for a report of a man with a warrant in the business. He was gone when police arrived.
– At 6:01 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a three-vehicle accident at Franklin Avenue and Maple Street. Steven McKinney, 674 E. Sixth St., Salem, was cited for assured clear distance after the vehicle he was operating hit the back the vehicle operated by William McMillen 6391 Fairfield Road, Columbiana, pushing it into the rear of the vehicle operated by Kenneth Anderson, 2117 state Route 45, Salem. The vehicles were southbound on Maple Street and a passenger in the McMillen vehicle, Julie McMillan, was taken the to hospital with injuries.
– At 10:11 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the Hawley and Cleveland Street area for a gas odor and firefighters responded and informed Columbia Gas.
– Police responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Drive at 7:50 p.m. Thursday for a complaint of a neighbor making threats toward the complainant.
– An officer responded to the 1000 block of East 10th Street at 4:18 p.m. Friday in reference to a juvenile urinating on a vehicle. The officer spoke with the juvenile and sent him home. There was no evidence of urination in the area, however.
– Officers responded to the Reilly Stadium area at 5:16 p.m. Friday in reference to a possible fight, but were unable to find any disturbance.
– An officer responded to a Cleveland Street home at 5:50 p.m. Friday where the resident reported an item had been taken from his yard.
– An officer responded to a Lexington Avenue home at 6:18 p.m. Friday where the resident reported her juvenile daughter had been locking her out of the home and backtalking. The daughter was advised against her actions.
– Officers responded with medical personnel to a Columbia Street home at 8:02 p.m. Friday where a man was found on the ground in his back yard. The man was transported to the hospital.
– Officers responded to Centennial Park for a reported fight at 8:44 p.m. Friday. The individuals involved said they staged the fight in order to get someone’s attention.
– An officer responded to a West Wilson Street home at 9:55 p.m. Friday where the resident reported several cats on the roof and she was afraid they would be injured. The officer advised the resident that the only option was to contact the animal control officer.
– Officers responded to the 600 block of South Union Avenue at 10:56 p.m. Friday in reference to suspicious people who the complainant claimed were talking about driving while intoxicated. The officers spoke with individuals at a nearby party, all of whom were of legal drinking age, but none of whom were driving.
– An officer responded to the East Fifth Street area at 12:41 a.m. Saturday in reference to loud music from a residence, but was unable to find any. The officer returned to the area at 2:37 a.m. for a report of a loud person, but again found no violation.
– A patrolling officer at 5:02 a.m. Saturday was flagged down by an elderly man in the 1100 block of East State Street who said he was lost and could not find a business he owns in downtown. The officer recognized the man as an early dementia victim with whom he had had a previous encounter.

– An officer responded to the 14000 block of U.S. Route 62 at 8:26 a.m. May 9 in reference to an injured deer. The deer was euthanized due to its injuries.
– An officer responded to the 12000 block of Goshen Road at 10:33 p.m. May 9 in reference to an elderly woman unable to get up. Damascus EMS transported the woman to the hospital.
– An officer responded to a burglary report in the 14000 block of West Calla Road at 4:05 p.m. May 10.
– An officer responded to a Goshen Road home at 5:09 p.m. May 10 where the resident reported her ex significant other had been calling and text messaging her.
– An officer responded to an alarm drop in the 10000 block of Lisbon Road at 7:07 a.m. May 11, but found the residence secure.

-Keeli Kosonovich, Echo Dell Road, Middleton Township, reported at 3:24 a.m. Friday two ATVs were taken from in front of her home but were later located just down the road.
– A deputy was called to a residence on Dyke Road, East Palestine, at 5:28 a.m. Friday in regard to an 63-year-old man with health problems who had fallen. The deputy assisted the ambulance crew that transported the man to a local hospital.
– Tracy Possage, Steubenville Pike, Hammondsville, reported Thursday receiving harassing text messages from her soon-to-be ex-husband. She said he also showed up at her home wanting her new phone number. Possage was advised of the process for obtaining a protection order.
– Holly Powl called on Thursday after learning second hand about possible threats against her by someone she knows, and she was advised of the process for obtaining a protection order. Police called the person who supposedly made the threats and there were no indications he was planning on harming Powl.
– Alec Courtney, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, reported Thursday the mother of his child threatened to stab him, and he wanted a report on file. Courtney was also advised of the process for obtaining a protection order.
Highway Patrol
– Gary L. Sanor, 51, Mountz Road, Homeworth, was eastbound on Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday and struck Megan Renae Pazzelli, 18, Knox School Road, who was attempting to pass through the Georgetown and Westville Lake Road intersection. After impact Sanor then struck Monica J. Durley, 46, Fox Avenue, Minerva, who was stopped northbound at the intersection stop sign. Pazzelli was cited for right of way.
– Jeffery A. Flanigan, 47, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, was eastbound on Baker Road in Hanover Township at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday and went off the right side of the road while attempting to turn right onto Depot Road. He was cited for failure to control, OVI and operating a motorcycle without a license.
– Tyler S. Barnes, 21, Creek Road, New Waterford, was westbound on Metz Road in Unity Township at 4:50 a.m. Saturday and swerved to avoid a deer and went off the right side of the road into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.
– Tyler J. Warren, 20, Washington Street, Columbiana, was westbound on Winona Road in Butler Township at 5 a.m. Saturday and swerved to avoid a deer and went off the left side into a ditch and a utility pole and overturned. He was cited for failure to control and OVI.
– Brenda L. Stewart, 41, Steubenville Pike, and Michael A. Tray, 38, County Home Road, Lisbon, were northbound on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday and Tray struck Stewart from behind. He was cited for assured clear distance.
– Richard L. Spellman, 71, Randolph, Ohio, was attempting to turn from Eagleton Road onto St. Jacob Logtown Road in Salem Township at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when the trailer went off the right side and struck the utility pole. He was cited with failure to control.
Columbiana
– Someone reported at 1:17 a.m. Thursday there was a suspicious man at the Circle K. Police found the man, identified as Andrew Wichert, 30, Canfield, had an active warrant through the county sheriff’s office. He was turned over to the county.
– A woman reported at 6:43 p.m. Thursday two vehicles were following her from North Lima and were tailgating her and trying to pass her. Police told the woman to drive to the police station, which she did, and the vehicles stopped following her.
– A man reported at 8 p.m. Thursday he saw and heard a gun being fired on North Bayshore Drive. Police found the noise came from someone using a noise maker to keep geese away.
Lisbon
– The door to Dr. Getzinger’s office on Exchange Street, was found open by a delivery person at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday, but nothing seemed to be amiss. The owner was contacted.
– Payden Chapman reported she was driving on Saltwell Road at 7:07 p.m Thursday and being followed by someone in a pickup truck with a gun. Chapman was located at Greentree Place, and she said she received second-hand information that a man she knows was going to take revenge against everyone involved in a court case. Chapman said she thought the truck driver might be that person, although she never saw the driver or if there was a weapon.
– Police were called to the Children Services agency at 4:20 p.m. Monday, where a 17-year-old boy was acting out because he was unhappy with his current situation. Police arrived and followed the caseworker until she delivered the boy to where he was to spend the night.
– Emma G. Bortmas, Chestnut Lane, Hanoverton, reportedly backed into a vehicle driven by Melody K. Craft, Woodvale Lane, Columbiana, outside the Subway sandwich shop at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday.

– After receiving a 911 hangup call at 6:15 a.m. Monday, deputies went to an address on state Route 558 and found a young child waiting for the bus. The boy told deputies his family was at a grandparent’s house, but deputies were unable to get anyone to come to the door.
– Joseph Messenger, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported three people had been lurking around West Point Trucking’s property in a vehicle at 4:04 a.m. Tuesday. He ran them off, although the driver reportedly was unhappy about it. The vehicle was described as a white Pontiac with a black driver’s side door. Deputies could not find the vehicle.
Columbiana
– A woman reported at 1:11 p.m. Wednesday someone threw out a garbage bag on West Metz Road and it possibly had drugs inside. Police checked and found it did not appear to be drugs and recommended the bag be thrown away.
– A solicitor’s permit was issued to Joseph E. Taorminoa of Aliquippa, Pa., for Comcast Xfinity on all streets in the city at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
– A North Main Street man reported suspected child abuse at 1:47 p.m. Wednesday but it was later determined the child had been playing with makeup which was mistaken for bruising.
East Palestine
– Police were called to the 500 block of East Martin Street at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday for a report that a 2-year-old was chasing a cat in the road and was not supervised by an adult. When police arrived the child’s mother was walking up to bring her back home and told police that she had worked a midnight shift and must have fallen asleep and the girl got out of the house.
– Police were called to an East Highland Avenue home at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a domestic dispute. The man and woman inside denied having an argument and told police they were yelling at their daughter for throwing things out of the window onto the roof. There were no signs of physical violence and the couple were told to quiet down so as not to disturb the neighbors.
– Police were called to the East North Avenue school at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday for a report that three boys may have entered the building. Police found the boys outside the building and there were no signs they had actually entered the building. The boys were told not to be on the property again or they would be charged with criminal trespass.
– Police were called to the area of West Martin Street and Western Avenue for a report that there was an altercation between a groups of kids. Police told the group to walk in different directions from one another or resolve their differences in a manner that doesn’t cause alarm to the neighbors. They were also told that if they continued to act that way they would face charges in juvenile court.
– Shelby A. Walker, East Taggart Street, reported at 1:26 p.m. Wednesday that while cleaning out her vehicle in the front yard someone stole a box of blankets and several newer folding chairs that were in the yard.
– An administration office employee reported at 9:16 a.m. Wednesday a man was acting oddly in the lobby and telling stories to the other office employees that were alarming. Police found the man was a resident of American Home Health Care and told him to return there and share his concerns with the staff.
– An East Taggart woman reported at 3:54 p.m. May 6 her daughter did not return home from school. The girl was found by police at afriend’s house in the 400 block of North Market. The girl saidshe could not send or receive her mother’s messages on her phone because she did not have wireless service there. Police told the girl to have better communication with her mother or she would face unruly charges.
– A West Main Street woman reported at 6:23 p.m. Saturday someone stole $300 from her purse.
– David Clemmer, Mud Bridge Road, reported at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday a man was harassing a woman he knows through Facebook.
– Thomas Terdina, 54, Steubenville Pike, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on West Martin Street at 3:55 p.m. Wednesday.
– Lori Wright, 45, Y&O Road, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on Bacon Avenue at 4:13 p.m. Wednesday.
– Robert Anderson Jr., 23, Enon Valley, Pa. was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on North Pleasant Drive at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday.
– Elizabeth Krebs, 24, Hamilton Road, was cited for speeding following a traffic stop on Bacon Avenue at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
East Liverpool
– Officers responded to a report of a drug transaction in the Rite Aid parking lot between a woman and a man in a pickup truck. They arrived to find a witness pointing out the two people. The woman, Cena Mason, 21, no address listed, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
– A home health agency reported a case of possible elderly abuse at a Lincoln Avenue home, but the resident said she and her daughter had a verbal argument but no one had ever harmed her. Two home health aides said everything was fine.
– Melissa D. Lewis, Wilbert Avenue, reported her juvenile daughter has been coming home from a neighbor’s high and intoxicated. The matter is under investigation.
– Carl Fowler, Jennings Avenue, reported his wallet stolen from his vehicle.

St. Clair Township
– Shanda M. Pipes, 28, no address listed, was charged Wednesday with petty theft and possession of criminal tools after she reportedly took five items from the shelves at Walmart and concealed them in her purse then left the store without paying.
Salem
– Police responded to a report of a child unattended at a home in the 1700 block of East State at 12:41 p.m. Thursday. An officer found the child was not unattended since a woman was sitting by the stroller.
– A caller at 10:19 a.m. Thursday reported a male yelling in the hallways in the 200 block of North Lincoln looking for a female, then he went out into the back parking lot of the facility where he located his wife, who had been next door at the counseling center. She had gone back to the car and they said all was fine.
– Jonathen Abbott, 28, of 184 Jennings Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct after police were called at 7:19 a.m. Thursday to the 200 block of North Lincoln for a report of an intoxicated male walking out into traffic. The male was located and was extremely intoxicated and unsteady. He was given a ride home.
– A woman came to the police station at 7:01 a.m. Thursday saying she wanted her tenant out of the building she owns in the 100 block of Jennings Avenue. She was told she had to go through the eviction process.
– A vehicle was reported stolen at 5:30 a.m. Thursday in the 1400 block of Franklin but when officers arrived, the vehicle was in the driveway. The owner said his girlfriend told him the vehicle was not in the drive when she left for work and he looked out the window and the vehicle was not there so he called police. When he went back to the door, another female who lives there came in and the vehicle was in the drive. He did not give her permission to drive it, but didn’t want anything done. She said she never left the driveway in the vehicle.
– A person was asked to be removed from the 800 block of Barclay at 2:09 a.m. Thursday. Officers spoke to the female and she was advised the homeowner didn’t want her there. She left on foot.
– Lindsay Buckley, 26, of 1265 Cedar Ridge Drive, was charged with domestic violence and taken to the county jail after police were called to her residence for a domestic at 12:17 a.m. Thursday. A man said he had an argument with his girlfriend and mother of his children, saying she was intoxicated and attempting to leave with a friend to continue drinking. He said he was headbutted twice and attempted to keep her there because he didn’t want her driving, then she scratched the left side of his neck and left. Officers made contact with the female and her friend several blocks away. She said nothing physical happened at the residence other than the male throwing her against the wall. There were no marks on the female. Photos were taken of the male’s injuries. The female, Buckley, was taken into custody.
– A man on Ansley Way came to the police station at 9:13 p.m. Wednesday regarding a dispute that took place in the 900 block of West State Street over a driving incident. He only wanted a report on file.
– Mason Jewell, 24, of 284 E. Fourth St., turned himself in at the police station on an outstanding warrant at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday. He was taken into custody and released to a sheriff’s deputy.
– A man on New Garden reported at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday that his soon-to-be ex-wife has been contacting him after he told her not to anymore. An officer was unable to contact her.
– A woman at Circle K East, 1125 E. State St., reported at 6:48 p.m. Wednesday that small items were taken from the store. The person had since left the area, with the theft under investigation.
– Steven McKinney, 24, of 674 E. Sixth St., was charged with assured clear distance ahead after his southbound vehicle on Franklin Avenue struck the rear of a vehicle driven by William McMillan, 61, of Columbiana, causing McMillan’s vehicle to strike the rear of a vehicle driven by Kenneth Anderson, 61, of state Route 45 at 6:01 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicles sustained minor damage. A female passenger in the McMillan vehicle advised of stomach pain and was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by EMT Ambulance. Salem firefighters also responded to the scene.
– A woman reported at 5:41 p.m. Wednesday that two people had been harassing her at her place of employment in the 2900 block of East State Street. She was told her options.
– A caller at 5:23 p.m. Wednesday reported several male juveniles using vulgar language at Memorial Park. An officer spoke with the kids.
– Suspicious activity was reported at 5:04 p.m. Wednesday at the Salem recycling center in the 200 block of South Ellsworth where a caller said two people had been removing items from the recycling dumpsters and putting them in their vehicle. Officers spoke to the male and female about the complaint.
– A suspicious person was reported at 4:31 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of South Union where a male had been walking around a residence for the past few days. Contact was made with the male who said his mother lives next door and he was waiting for her to get home from work.
– A caller at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday reported a female tossing clothes out of a residence yelling the items were free for the taking. Officers arrived and saw the clothing on the ground. No one was around. The items were on the property and no problem to those in the area.
– Police were called to an establishment in the 400 block of South Broadway for one to be removed, finding a male standing outside who was calm. The owner said she wanted him off the property due to actions inside the bar. A ride was located for him.
– A woman reported a theft at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday, saying that her daughter placed her cell phone down in the junior high band room at the school on Sixth Street and someone removed it.
Goshen Police District
– An officer responded to the area of state Route 14 and Egypt Road at 5:15 a.m. May 14 in reference to a man passed out in the roadway. Upon arrival the officer found two Salem units on scene assisting the victim, a diabetic who passed out while walking. Green Township first responders arrived and transported the man to the hospital.
– An officer responded to an alarm drop in the 10000 block of Stratton Road at 5:04 p.m. May 14 and found a keyholder who said the building was secure and one of the workers must have left the door open.
– A patrolling officer at 5:38 p.m. May 15 observed a vehicle parked in a field along the railroad tracks in the area of state Route 14 and Duck Creek Road. The occupants, a father and son, said they were train enthusiasts who were waiting for a specialized train to come through. The officer observed apparent tools for the outing and cleared the scene upon determining they posed no risk to themselves or the trains.
– An officer responded to a Cedarwood Drive, Beloit, home at 10:26 a.m. Monday where the resident reported seven fraudulent charges made to his bank account in Georgia.
– An officer responded to an Oakwood Street, Beloit, home at 6 a.m. Tuesday for a medical assist and stood by until the resident was transported by Beloit and Sebring EMTs to the hospital.
– An officer responded to the area of state Route 165 and Washingtonville Road at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday in reference to a small fire called in by a passer-by. The officer searched the area but was unable to locate any fire.
Wellsville
– Postal Supervisor Johanna Abdalla requested May 3 the back window of one its vans was shattered while parked at the post office.
– Police were called at 12:20 p.m. May 5 to the Huntington Bank. Bank manager Cheryl Sutton sad less than 20 minutes earlier Joshua Revelant, 28, Walnut Street, East Liverpool, called and said the bank withdrew $160 of his, and that the teller that answered the phone told him that the signature on the slip was his but he can dispute it. He then issued a threat and hung up. The bank security guard called Revelant and told him not to return, to which Revelant allegedly said he would kill the guard. Sutton also said Revelant called the bank’s Calcutta branch and cursed them out, so they hung up on him. Employees believed that Revelant was in the bank that morning, so Wellsville fire crews were called to clear the bank, in which the employees were allowed back in shortly after. Revelant was cited with aggravated menacing.
– A search May 7 for a 14-year-old East Liverpool girl took police from a house on Wood Street, to Independence Square and another house on Aten Avenue before the girl was found in front of the middle school. She denied drinking but was stumbling, leaning up against her mother’s car to keep her balance and slurring her words. She was cited for underage consumption.
– Pat Gibson, Wood Street, reported his mower stolen May 7, saying he followed the mower’s tracks through her yard to a residence on Cedar Alley, and saw the mower sitting under the porch. Officers spoke to resident Mike Jackson, who said that Robert Wright brought the mower over and sold it for $15. Gibson got his mower back. Wright was cited with theft.
– Police were called at 9:56 p.m. May 12 to the area of Lisbon and Ninth after a basketball hoop was hit and destroyed by a by a vehicle and also damaged a parked truck owned by Nelson Green’s daughter. Police learned the truck struck another parked vehicle on 12th Street. The driver of the truck, David M. Morris, 36, 10th Street, appeared under the influence by registered .000 on the portable breathalyzer test. He was cited for having physical control of vehicle while under the influence and two counts of failure to control.
– A car parked in front of the home of Minda Bess, Broadway, was struck by another vehicle Saturday morning. An hour later, John J. Milhoan, Staunton Avenue, East Liverpool, arrived with his daughter and said the girl had hit the car.
– Jacob McCartney, Lisbon Street, reported at 9 p.m Monday someone kicked the front door in on his home. He could not tell if anything was missing due to the condition the last tenant left it in.
– Kenneth Boyle, Broad-way, reported Wednesday someone opened a credit card with Amidger Services and charged $737.78 in Michigan. Boyle reported the incident to the company, and they advised that a police report was needed.
– Police were called at 12:03 a.m. Thursday to Fourth and Main where a Ford Escape had been parked and running for over two hours. An officer found the windows fogged up and a man identified as Nick Cataldo, Buzzard Road, Wellsville, passed out in the driver’s seat. Cataldo woke after an officer yelled twice. He admitted drinking earlier in the day. He was cited for physical control and driving under suspension.
– Denise Delilo, Riverside Avenue, reported at 6:52 a.m. Thursday someone walked into the rear unlocked entrance of her home and took a $20 bill and the keys to her Jetta from her purse, and a carton of American Spirit cigarettes from car’s trunk.

County Sheriff
– Brian Slingermand, South Bandy Road, Alliance, reported at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday someone entered his garage through an unlocked side door, stealing a set of Advent speakers and three prescriptions – 25 Cymbalta, 15 Methadone and about 66 Klonopin.
– Alan Jones, Myers Road, Kensington, reported at 11:08 a.m. Tuesday his neighbor drove past him and swerved his vehicle in an attempt to hit him. He confronted his neighbor, Frank DeSantis, about this and his neighbor pushed him. Deputies spoke to DeSantis, who said he is tired of Jones driving fast past his house and went there to give Jones a taste of his own medicine. The two men live back a long lane off Myers Road. They were told to stay away from each other.
Highway Patrol
– Ali Lynn Ammon, 17, Edwin Drive, East Liverpool, and Hunter William McVay, 16, McCormick Run Road, Lisbon, were westbound on Bell School Road in Madison Township at 3:14 p.m. Monday and McVay struck Ammon from behind. McVay was cited for assured clear distance.
– Sandra L. Adkins, 67, Moore Road, East Liverpool, and Donald H. Whitney, 53, Rouletta, Pa., were eastbound on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township at 1:30 p.m. Sunday and Whitney struck Adkins. No citations were issued.
Columbiana
– Police received multiple calls at 4:19 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a man lying in the shoulder of state Route 14 near County Line Road.
– Marcia Denamen, Austintown, reported at 1 p.m. Tuesday she discovered that a ring she took some time ago to Kimpel’s Jewelry to have the prongs fixed had the 2-carat diamonds removed and replaced with glass. Denamen said the glass was discovered when she had the ring reappraised.
– Taylor Jones, Firestone Avenue, reported at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday a bag was either lost or stolen from the car.
– The sheriff’s office requested assistance at 433 Pittsburgh Street at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday to attempt to make contact with someone at the home.
Lisbon
-Police observed a white dog with a collar running around town at 3:55 p.m. Friday, but the officer could not get close enough to see if it had tags. The dog warden was contacted but was unable to get close enough to capture the dog. A resident called later to say they caught the dog and its owner is from outside of town and was coming to retrieve the pet.
– A caller reported hearing an explosion on North Market Street at 8:33 p.m. May 11. Police came across a lot of smoke but were unable to find its source.
– A caller reported being unable to take her child to the Play Town playground at 12:25 p.m. Monday because a dog came at them. Police arrived and spoke to two teachers who had brought some students to the park to perform volunteer work and they had been playing with the dog. Police found the dog and saw that it was a puppy being trained to be a therapy dog.
– Debbie Curtis, North Market Street, reported being involved in a dispute with her neighbor at 12:19 p.m. Monday. Curtis said she shares a garage with the other tenant, who removed her two wooden saw horses and also broke some of her items. Police spoke to Ted Davis, who said the horses belong to the landlord, not Curtis’ boyfriend. Police told Davis to stay out of Curtis’ side of the garage, and Davis said he wanted her to do the same. The officer said she would do that but she wanted Davis to return the horses first.
East Liverpool
– Officers responded Tuesday evening to Dresden Avenue for reports of Bud N. Hull Sr., 36, West Ninth Street, causing problems with people near the BP station. Upon arrival, officers were flagged down by numerous people pointing to Hull, saying he was running around with a knife, threatening people. Michael Leek, no address listed, reported Hull threatened him with a knife after Leek intervened when Hull was threatening several females. Officers located Hull near the Oasis and he reportedly became verbally uncooperative and had to be taken to the ground and handcuffed. He was charged with aggravated menacing, disorderly conduct and two counts of menacing. At this point, his son, Bud N. Hull Jr., 17, same address, began trying to prevent officers from arresting his father. The younger Hull was told to leave but decided to lie in the middle of the street to prevent officers from leaving with his father. The son was also taken into custody for disorderly conduct and taken to the Tobin Center.
St. Clair Township
– An officer with the county drug task force working undercover in the Calcutta Giant Eagle reported Amber S. Adkins, 32, Richardson Street, was expected to make a heroin transaction inside the store and notified township police. Patrolman Scott Mick reported seeing Adkins, whom he knew from “multiple dealings” with her, getting into her vehicle and another woman getting into the passenger side. Adkins drove down three aisles away and let the other woman out of her vehicle, according to reports. Knowing Adkins had no driver’s license, Mick initiated a traffic stop. He called for the K-9 officer and said Adkins told him, “I can save you some trouble, Scott. I’ll show you where it is,” and retrieved a small tin can from the passenger seat that contained brown powder, a used syringe and about $400. She was charged with failure to reinstate. At the police station, Adkins was spoken to by the drug task force officer, who took custody of the powder and money and also disposed of the syringe.
– Officers responded to a Y&O Road home Monday for a drug overdose, where they reported finding Christopher A. Reed, 40, address not listed, in the bathroom, with a spoon, syringe with burnt residue and a lighter nearby. North Star Critical Care paramedics administered several doses of Narcan to revive Reed, who was then transported to the emergency room. He was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.
– Officers responded Friday to Lincoln Street for a welfare check and reported finding Carole I. Birch and Bobbie Jo Birch arguing in the driveway. Carole Birch had a cut on her arm but neither woman could say how she got it, according to reports. She told police she had evicted her daughter several times but allowed her to return because of her children. She was advised to contact Children Services or her daughter’s case manager. On Saturday, police returned to the home for reports of a custody dispute, with no other details reported.
– William Kauffman, Seville Drive, reported possible identity theft.
– Dronda Scott, no address listed, reported her son had stolen checks and cashed several of them at Huntington Bank. She did not want criminal charges filed against her son but wanted her money back from the bank, telling officers her account was flagged and the bank should not have cashed the checks.
– Charles Richards, Cleveland Avenue, reported vandalism, with not other details reported.
– Johnny D. McComas, Birch Road, reported two dirt bikes stolen.
Salineville
– While on patrol around 3:30 p.m. May 11, police conducted a traffic stop for fictitious tags, which later yielded the passenger, Jason Short, having an active warrant through the sheriff’s office. Short was taken into custody.
– While on patrol around 3:45 p.m. May 11, police witnessed a vehicle with loud exhaust and initiated a traffic stop, to which the driver was under a FRA suspension. The driver was cited for driving under suspension, and the vehicle, which belonged to his wife, was towed.
– Cindy McElroy spoke to an officer on patrol around noon Friday and said her missing car was taken for service to Monroe Muffler and Brake Service on state Route 170 in East Liverpool. Officers advised McElroy that if the vehicle indeed went missing from the service provider, she would need to file a report with East Liverpool Police. McElroy was reportedly very upset, to which officers contacted the corporate office, who towed her vehicle back to her residence. Police also learned that, according to McElroy, her car keys were not returned to her.
– Police were called at 5:04 p.m. Friday to the Dollar General on West Main Street regarding a theft in progress. Officers learned upon arrival that Jona N. French had taken several items from the store without paying. French was taken into custody.
– Police appeared with county Children’s Services at 3:34 p.m. Tuesday at a Salineville Road West residence to remove three children per orders of municipal court. The order was left at the door, and the children were taken into custody without incident.
Salem
– An officer on patrol at 5:42 a.m. Wednesday saw that numerous vehicles had been hit with eggs while parked on East Third, Brooklyn, South Union and Fair.
– A woman in the 1000 block of Cleveland Street reported at 5:28 a.m. Wednesday that her juvenile daughter ran away Tuesday night and didn’t come back until early in the morning. Officers told her to file unruly charges with Juvenile Court and call the police if she runs away again.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Cleveland Street. Both parties said they had an argument which turned into a minor altercation, but both had different accounts of what transpired. The domestic violence laws and consequences were explained to them. A family member responded to stay at the residence for the remainder of the evening.
– Officers at 9:58 p.m. Tuesday located multiple deer in the downtown area between Ellsworth and Broadway. They were able to direct the animals out of downtown without incident.
– Officers responded at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of East Third Street to check the well-being of a female who had not been heard from in an extended period. Her vehicle had not moved and additional information had been provided regarding her state of mind when last contacted. Based on the totality of the circumstances, police with assistance from the fire department made entry into the residence and located the female inside. She was heavily intoxicated and transported to SRMC.
– Police responded to Walmart for a dispute between two people at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday. Officers spoke with the people in question. The male advised he was getting a ride from a friend to leave the store and avoid any escalation of violence.
– Police delivered a message at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday to a Cedar Ridge resident from the Tobin Center.
– A resident in the 900 block of East Third Street reported a theft at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday. The suspect was not known to the victim. The investigation was turned over to a detective.
– Jennifer Rodden, of North Howard Avenue, reported at 7:24 p.m. Tuesday that her vehicle broke down the night before and she was given permission from Speedway to leave it there in the 100 block of West State Street. When she returned the next day, the two front tires were stolen off the vehicle.
– Police responded at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday to Kennedy Drive near the cul de sac for a report of ATVs on the road. Police located an ATV and told the person the rules per city ordinance.
– Police were called at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday to Giant Eagle, 2401 E. State St., to speak with a person over a civil matter regarding money and Western Union. The person left the premises before police arrived.
– An anonymous caller at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday reported a vehicle parked on the front lawn of a residence in the 900 block of Adams Avenue. An officer was unable to make contact with anyone, so a note was left on the vehicle advising they can’t park in the front yard.
– A caller at 2:39 p.m. Tuesday reported a white Ford Escape parked in the 900 block of East Fifth Street running all day. Police found the vehicle unattended and running with the keys in the ignition. The vehicle was secured and a note left for the owner to pick up the keys at the police station.
– Police were called at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday to the 600 block of Ohio Avenue for a child custody dispute. The father of a baby had left the property yelling. No threats of violence occurred, only name calling.
– Elizabeth Millikin, of East 10th Street, reported at 1 p.m. Tuesday that her car was parked on the street overnight and the driver’s side door had a scuff mark on the molding near the back of the door. She believed someone may have tried to pry it open. The alarm system did not go off but seemed to be malfunctioning the next day.
Perry Township
– Police responded at 3:08 a.m. Wednesday to the 1700 block of state Route 9 for a reported tree blocking the roadway. ODOT was contacted and removed the tree.
– Police responded to the 1300 block of Elberon Avenue at 2:29 a.m. Wednesday for a noise complaint. The offending party had already gone inside, but was told about the complaint. They agreed to keep the noise down.
– A resident of Depot Road called at 12:29 a.m. Wednesday to request removal of an intoxicated male from the home. Before police arrived, the male left in a vehicle and could not be located. The female said he made threats toward her and her property, but she didn’t want to pursue charges.
– A suspicious vehicle was reported driving around the area of Brookview Drive near Manor Drive. Police made a traffic stop on a known person who said they just happened to be in the area at the same time as the call. No other vehicles were found in the area.
– A theft was reported at 7:32 p.m. Tuesday from Circle K South.
– Police responded to the 200 block of Idaho Avenue for a report at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday of two suspicious males who entered a residence recently sold at auction by opening a sliding glass door. The vehicle with two males left before police arrived. The vehicle was a large black truck and the caller wasn’t sure if they were the new owners.
– An officer was requested to respond to the 1000 block of Liberty Street at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday to assist KLG and county Adult Protective Services with the court-ordered removal of an elderly woman from her home, She was taken to SRMC.
– A burglary was reported at 11:08 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Prospect Street where a resident said she came home and found the front door open and some items missing.
– Police responded to the 1800 block of Hunt Road for a report at 4:27 p.m. Monday of an assault on a school bus on New Garden. A boy hit a girl in the eye.
– Police responded to Old Farm Lane and Brookview Drive at 3:57 p.m. Monday for recovered property after a passerby saw several items in the bushes just off the road. The owner was contacted.
– A possible stolen vehicle was reported at 7:25 p.m. Sunday by a Benton Road resident, but after gathering information, it was determined to be a civil matter.
– Clayton Hoperich, of Georgetown Road, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after his eastbound vehicle on state Route 14 struck the back of a vehicle driven by Jenelle Adams, of Eric Drive, Lisbon, who was slowing to turn onto Ohio Boulevard at 4:54 p.m. Sunday. No injuries were reported.
– Police responded to the 700 block of West Pidgeon Road at 4:29 p.m. Sunday for a report of a raccoon stuck in a garage. Officers left for a two-vehicle accident but contacted the humane officer to try to catch the animal. The animal got free and ran into the woods.
– A runaway juvenile was reported at 9:22 p.m. Saturday in the area of Goshen Road and West Pine Lake Road. Police were unable to locate her. Salem Police were also notified.
– An unsecured door was reported at 1:50 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of West State Street. Police checked the building and found nothing out of place and nothing wrong with the unsecured door. It was determined the building was located in the city, so the Salem Police Department was notified.
– A loose dog was reported in the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue at 11:33 p.m. Friday. The dog had broken free from the chain and was found at a neighbor’s residence. The owner was contacted and retrieved the dog.
– James Marx, of Hampton Place, reported Friday reported someone entered his vehicle during the evening/early hours of April 19 and removed several items.

County Sheriff
– Chris Brown, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 6:03 p.m. Monday a woman was sitting on a bridge in the area of state Route 558 and Fairfield School Road. She was concerned about the woman being at risk of being struck on the roadway. Deputies checked the area, but did not find anyone matching the description given.
– Larry Williams, Freed Road, Minerva, reported at 6:37 p.m. Monday there was a property dispute on Speidel Road in West Township. Deputies spoke with Renee Stewart, who said she has had issues with the homeowner, Larry Williams. She wants to cut the grass on the lot, which she does not own, so it will look nice. Williams told deputies Stewart and her family have been coming onto his property, cutting the grass and ran over the for sale sign. Williams said he does not want them on the property because he plans to cut hay from the lot. Both were told to stay off each other’s property.
– Monte Hoff, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 4:59 p.m. Monday he told Billy Lockhart to leave his home after he recently came home from the hospital and found his car was out of gas.
– Dustin Lewis, Riffle Road, Lisbon, reported at 4:43 p.m. Monday someone littered along the road near state Route 154. Deputies found a garbage bag and dog food bags, all filled with garbage and scattered on the roadway. Several documents linked the trash to an address on St. George Street in East Liverpool. Deputies spoke to Anthony Garver, 20; Devon Athey, 19; and Jacob Ratkovich, 19. They were in the process of cleaning out the home on St. George Street to move in. They admitted to depositing the trash on Riffle Road while they were driving there, and were warned to pick up every piece of it or face charges. Deputies checked at 11 p.m. and they were out with flashlights picking up litter.
Columbiana
– Ryan Russo, Key West, Fla., reported theft or fraud against Kimpel’s Jewelry at 1 p.m. Monday.
– Kelly Schach, North Main Street, reported at 3 p.m. Monday a dog bit someone on the Firestone Park walking trail.
– Chanie Banks, Duquesne Street, reported at 7:20 p.m. Monday a neighbor was allowing a dog to defecate in other yards.
– A woman reported at 8 p.m. Monday a raccoon by the pool in Firestone Park appeared to be sick. Police checked but found nothing abnormal.
East Palestine
– Nicole Hilton, North Liberty Street, reported at 11 a.m. Monday someone stole money from her home. At 11 p.m. she reported someone had taken her bill of sales from a house she sold in Lisbon and a sales receipt. At 6:48 p.m. Sunday she reported a neighbor was using a weed trimmer and it was making a lot of noise and she couldn’t sleep and there were strange people walking around the area. Police checked but did not see anyone using a weed eater or any strange people there.
– Shawn Allen Keller, age and address not listed, was charged with OVI, failure to signal a turn, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on East North Avenue at 10 p.m. Friday.
– Travis R. Gottschalk, 26, address not listed, was charged with OVI and cited for left of center following a traffic stop on West Martin Street at 2:28 a.m. Sunday.
– Brandy D. Hannan, 24, East Liverpool, was charged with OVI following a traffic stop on Carbon Hill Road at 9:23 p.m. She was also cited for driving under suspension, loud exhaust and open container. Her passenger, Lance P. Chamberlain, 32, Irondale, was also cited for open container.
– Victor Nitzel and Haiden Netzel reported at 12:14 p.m. Sunday they were being followed by a man in a white van through town. Police checked but did not find the van.
– Someone reported at 11:38 a.m. Monday a stray dog was at the park.
Salem
– A dispute was reported at 6:09 a.m. Tuesday in the 800 block of Barclay Avenue where the resident said a person who’s not welcome at the property fled prior to police arriving. Police located the person several blocks away and they were advised not to return to the residence.
– An officer responded at 2:51 a.m. Tuesday to the area of Tim Hortons, 2262 E. State St., to speak with a man described as homeless. He said he was just released from SRMC and needed a ride back to Lisbon. Officers and dispatch were able to help him contact the proper agency to get him transportation.
– An intoxicated male was reported lying down in the Walmart lot at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday. Contact was made with the male who said he was ok and was just leaving.
– Police were called at 10:16 p.m. Monday for a medical emergency at Quaker Village, 201 S. Lincoln Ave., where a man told officers he had not slept in four days, had thyroid problems and didn’t have his medicine. He wanted checked out by medical personnel and was taken to the hospital emergency room.
– Police responded to the 800 block of East School Street to Memorial Park for a medical emergency reported at 6:51 p.m. Monday. Officers located the person in question who said he was injured while playing basketball, but said he was fine now and did not need any assistance.
– An audible alarm was reported at 6:33 p.m. Monday at a closed business in the 1100 block of Salem Parkway. The exterior of the business was secure.
– A security alarm was reported at 5:50 p.m. Monday at a business on Elm Avenue. The owner on the scene affirmed that all was fine.
– A person came to the police station at 5:26 p.m. Monday to report a family member took a credit card without his permission and used it to make cash advances at a local store. He also filed a report with Perry Township police. The case is under investigation.
– Police were dispatched at 4:04 p.m. Monday to Memorial Park off of East School Street for a report of juveniles tearing the soffit off the pavilion. A man said there were kids around the pavilion but they had taken off.
Liverpool Township
– While southbound on state Route 7, an officer reported seeing a vehicle crossing over the white line at the side of the highway and initiated a stop. The driver, Ashley E. Fultz, 19, Strader Road, reportedly smelled of alcohol and the vehicle of marijuana. Although Fultz denied drinking or using marijuana, while she taking field sobriety tests, the officer spotted green leafy substance residue on her pants and shirt, although he reported she showed no sign of impairment. She reportedly admitted to drinking a half can of “hard lemonade,” and a search of the vehicle turned up a half can of the alcohol behind the driver’s seat. The officer also reported seeing a clear bag containing a green leafy substance behind the front passenger seat on top of a Walmart bag. Inside the shopping bag were found a glass pipe and grinder with marijuana residue. Fultz was cited for marked lanes, open container and possession of marijuana.

– Police were called to a disturbance on Prospect Street at 6:35 p.m. Sunday, where they met Matt Preston, who said his son was playing at a neighbor’s house when the woman at the residence ordered him to leave and used obscenities in the process. The neighbor denied using obscene language, but admitted telling Preston’s son to leave because he was being a “smart mouth.”
– Police were called to a South Green Street residence at 10 p.m. Sunday in regard to a woman who may have taken too many pills. The man at the residence said the woman had driven away and police were unable to locate her.
– A caller reported there were several dogs on the roof of a West Chestnut Street home at 7:14 p.m. Friday. The resident said that is not possible since the window to the roof was blocked. Another person called with the same complaint at 9:45 a.m. Friday. The county dog warden was aware of the situation and possibly going to retrieve the dogs on Monday.
– A caller reported a woman was being belligerent at the Steel Trolley Diner at 4 a.m. Sunday. The woman was in the process of leaving with her sister when police arrived, and police told her not to return that night.
– Police responded to a report of a man possibly having a heart attack at Shenanigan’s Pub at 12:28 a.m. Sunday. The man was found standing in the parking lot with his daughter, and police remained until an ambulance arrived.
– A caller reported there was a drunken man walking his dog on West Lincoln Way at 12:16 p.m. Saturday. Police searched the area but did not see the man or his dog.
-Police responded to a disturbance on Moore Street at 11:22 a.m. Friday, but Kathryn Mateson, 21, would not provide any information despite having red marks around her neck as if she had been choked.
– Police responded to a report of a man having a seizure at the Valley View convenience store at 9:08 p.m. Thursday. Police arrived to find Robert Vecchio sitting inside the store but he began having a seizure just as the ambulance arrived and he was transported to a local hospital.
– Police were called to the Lepper Library parking lot at 7:22 p.m. Thursday after a vehicle’s rear hatch fell on someone’s head, causing him to bleed profusely. Police remained until an ambulance arrived.
Highway Patrol
– A trooper southbound on state Route 7 reported seeing a northbound pickup truck traveling at 69 mph in the 55 mph zone. He notified at northbound trooper who was able to stop the vehicle, driven by Brittany M. Heffner, 26, Tomahawk Drive, Negley. While Heffner was looking for the requested paperwork, the trooper reported being able to see multiple lighters and aluminum foil in her open purse. Wellsville’s K-9 officers Joe Saraniti and Chief were called to the scene, and the canine indicated inside the vehicle. Heffner reportedly had a marijuana pipe in her purse and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding.
East Liverpool
– Officers were called Sunday to the home of Nina Sattler on St. Clair Avenue by Amanda Eltringham, who said Sattler was being assaulted. Upon arrival, officers spoke initially with Eltringham, who said she was driving past Sattler’s and saw the car of a man she knew had a warrant and she wanted him arrested. She was told to leave and not return since she does not live there. Sattler told officers that Eltringham had broken her back door handle and punched her in the nose. The man she said she saw there was not found by officers. Sattler was advised to contact the law director if she wishes to file charges.
– Bob Bailey, Riverview Street, reported a garage entered through the man door, which was forced. The large garage door was also found knocked off its hinges in an apparent attempt to enter. An inventory of items taken is pending.
– Steven Jividen, Smithfield Street, reported more than $300 charged to his bank account by an unknown person.
– The rear window was cut out of a vehicle owned by Shawn Evans, Harvey Avenue, and wires were cut in an attempt to steal the 1999 Chrysler.
– Timothy L. Jackson, no address listed, reported his truck was stolen from where it was parked in a lot at Seventh Street and Dresden Avenue.
– Ashley R. Thrasher, 29, Burford Street, reported her boyfriend Mike Wellington took her child support card and threatened to spend the $135 remaining on it. Wellington told police he had thrown the card into the basement.
– The owners of Bob & Robins Flower Shop, Walnut Street, reported someone entered through a window and stole a tip jar chained to the counter.
– Terri Collins, Lisbon Street, reported her 14-year-old daughter climbed through a window and left the house, leaving a note behind saying she was running away.
Salem
– A man from the 600 block of East Sixth Street reported at 12:38 p.m. Monday that he returned to his apartment on Friday and found the front door halfway open. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing appeared to be stolen. He couldn’t reach his landlord and asked an officer to try to make contact, but there was no answer when the officer tried.
– A Leetonia woman reported at 12:25 p.m. Monday that she was at a business in the 2700 block of East State Street on Sunday for 15 minutes and forgot her diamond necklace. She called the business and the owner advised nobody reported locating the necklace. An investigation was pending.
– A girl reported at 11:50 a.m. Monday that a boy threatened to kill her and beat up her male friend. The suspect was supposedly next door at the neighbor’s house looking out the window, but he left before police arrived. Police spoke to the suspect and he admitted to being next door but denied making any threats. He was told to stay away from the girl.
– A representative of Donnell Ford, Continental Drive, reported at 9:38 a.m. Monday that the dealer plate was lost from a truck used as a demo. He believed the plate fell off during transit due to the plate not being securely fastened. The plate was entered into the law enforcement data base.
– A man in the 900 block of East Third Street reported at 8:41 a.m. Monday that a Blazer was parked behind his apartment overnight in working and running condition. On Monday morning, he found the vehicle jacked up and resting on cement blocks. All four wheels and tires were stolen. The lug nuts, scissor jack and lug wrench were left at the scene. The theft was under investigation.
– A woman in the 1000 block of West State Street reported at 8:26 a.m. Monday that she attempted to make an ATM withdrawal from her account on Sunday and her bank locked her out of her account. She contacted the bank and was advised a charge of $100.52 was purchased using her account number at a clothing store in Columbus. The card has been canceled.
– John Bridge, of the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue, reported at 6:29 a.m. Monday that sometime over the past weekend, an unknown person entered his apartment and stole several items, including a carpet scrubber, shirts and two lock boxes.
– Police were called at 4:57 a.m. Monday to the 200 block of West 13th Street for a light flashing in a back yard. Officers responded and saw a light flashing on a decorative lighthouse in the back yard of a property. No problem was found.
– A security alarm was reported at 2:59 a.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Southeast Boulevard, but the business was found secure.
– Officers at 9:30 p.m. Sunday checked on Salem fire department first responders and EMT Ambulance at a scene in the 600 block of East Fifth Street, observing contraband in plain view in a common area. The contraband was taken as evidence and officers spoke with the resident.
– Anna Anderson, of New Waterford, reported at 8:54 p.m. Sunday that she believed someone damaged her vehicle’s motor while it was parked at her place of employment in the 200 block of Continental Drive.
– Gregory Harper, 46, of Middletown Road, North Benton, was taken into custody and turned over to a sheriff’s deputy on an active warrant at 7:25 p.m. Sunday after calling police to a property on West 10th Street where he reported a private property accident from earlier in the day in the Walmart parking lot. The accident involved his vehicle, which was driven by woman, and another vehicle driven by another woman. Both vehicles were backing from parking spots and struck each other.
– A natural gas leak was reported at 6:34 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Aetna Street. The fire department was able to shut the gas off at the meter. Columbia Gas was notified to respond.
– A dispute was reported at 1:29 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of East Fourth Street. Police spoke with both parties and one agreed to leave so there would be no further problems.
– A 16-year-old boy from Salem came to the station at 12:46 p.m. Sunday with his father and turned himself in for an outstanding arrest warrant. The teen was taken to the Tobin Attention Center in Lisbon by a sheriff’s deputy.
– An alarm was reported at 12:13 p.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of Jennings Avenue, with the exterior of the property found secure.
– A domestic dispute was reported at 3:43 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of East Third Street where a man said his girlfriend wouldn’t let him inside to get belongings to leave for the night. She said they had an argument and he threatened her. She wanted him to leave for the night. He obtained some clothes and left.

– KLG requested assistance at a home on Beacon Light Road, Lisbon, where there was a man with a head injury who was reportedly being combative at 2:25 a.m. Sunday. Deputies spoke with Evan Wooding, who claimed everyone at the home was fine and he wanted KLG off his property so he could go to sleep. His fiance had reportedly called KLG claiming Wooding had a head injury and needed medical attention. He went inside and both deputies and KLG left.
– A domestic dispute was reported on Shontz Drive, Wellsville, at 3:36 p.m. Saturday. Kallee Powell told deputies she and her boyfriend, Rammel Perry-Tisdale, argued over who could take the co-owned vehicle. He decided to leave with his friends.
– Beth Gasaway, Black Road, Lisbon, reported at 6:34 p.m. Thursday there were two horses at a Black Road address, which are being neglected. She said she already reported it to the humane society. On Saturday a deputy spoke to Meghan Hickman, who said she would do a better job feeding and caring for the horses. She was warned if deputies return to check on them and they are not being better cared for, charges would be filed.
– Renee Stewart, Freed Street, Minerva, reported at 7:40 p.m. Friday someone removed a no trespassing sign from her property and placed it in the ditch nearby.
– Josh Burke, Homeworth Road, Alliance, reported at 10:45 a.m. Sunday his estranged wife changed his bank account and took all the money out. She also reportedly changed his other accounts, such as Facebook and Yahoo. He became upset when deputies explained if he is still married, half of everything is still hers.
– Lisa Pearson, Salem Grange Road, Salem, reported at 12:21 p.m. Sunday someone made two unauthorized charges on her bank debit card at Walmart.com totaling $1,080. She has contacted both Home Savings and Walmart.com.
East Palestine
– Juan Anchondo asked police for advise involving a custody dispute at about 7:46 p.m. Thursday.
– Douglas Scott Haberland, 53, no address listed, was charged with OVI and left of center, after he was pulled over on North Market Street at 3:11 p.m. Friday.
– Shawn Allen Keller, no address listed, was cited with OVI, failure to signal a turn, drug possession and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on East North Avenue at 10:01 p.m. Friday.
– Brian J. Svoboda, no address listed, was cited with OVI following a traffic stop on Bacon at 1:02 a.m. Saturday.

– Police assisted a Leetonia police officer with a traffic stop at 12:34 a.m. Saturday on Route 344 near Ridge Street.
– A boy was found near Columbiana Boiler at 2:48 a.m. Saturday and detained until he was released to his father.
– Jacob Arsuffi, 22, North Lima, was charged with OVI, speeding, failure to control and possession of marijuana at 9:55 a.m. Saturday. He reportedly struck a mailbox while he was being pulled over on Springfield Road.
– The sheriff’s 911 reported receiving several 911 prank calls with children in the background from a home on Fairfield. Police spoke to the parents about the children playing with the phone.
– Amy Gosselin, state Route 14, reported her dogs started barking and she looked outside, seeing a man in a gray hoodie near her vehicle at 7:43 p.m. Saturday. When he saw Gosselin, he walked down the street toward state Routes 7 and 14. Police found Gerrard Jackson of Toledo and warned him about soliciting without a permit.
– Firefighters and EMS responded to assist at a crash at the intersection of state Routes 558 and 164 at 11:21 p.m. Saturday.
– Kristin Stalnaker, West Salem Street, reported at 11:47 p.m. Saturday someone broke their window.
Salem Township
– Dennis Cross, Old Route 344, reported sometime between May 7 and May 12 someone stole two motorcycles – a 50 CC black with brown fenders and a 110 CC blue Wildfire – from behind his home.
Salem
– While assisting another officer at 1:08 a.m. Sunday with a follow-up investigation in the 200 block of East Third Street, an officer heard what appeared to be a domestic situation coming from a residence in the 300 block. A boyfriend and girlfriend who reside together were arguing over an alleged cheating claim the man made against the woman. She said her boyfriend pushed her down on the porch and she hit her head. There was no visible injury and she refused medical treatment. The male denied pushing her down and said she pushed him. A witness in the residence refused to talk with officers about what happened. Neither party wanted to write a statement. During the investigation, officers learned of an active warrant out of Texas for a parole violation for a male in the home. Christopher Plumlee, 35, of 318 E. Third St., was taken into custody on the warrant as a fugitive from justice. He was transported to the county jail.
– An officer en route to work for the midnight shift at 11:50 p.m. Saturday saw a young female juvenile with a blanket wrapped around her walking north on Jennings Avenue. The officer knew the juvenile was from a local group home in the Goshen Township police jurisdiction, contacted dispatch and confirmed there was a missing juvenile reported. The officer stopped the juvenile and marked cruisers from the Salem responded. The 14-year-old girl was taken to the police station and charged with an unruly juvenile offense. She was later turned over to Goshen Township police and transported to the home on Sharon Lynn Drive.
– A domestic in progress was reported at 10:40 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of East Fourth Street. Both people involved said a verbal dispute turned physical and both claimed to be pushed by the other. They were both told their options.
– A resident on Quaker Lane called at 10 p.m. Saturday to report four suspicious juveniles in the area. Officers spoke with the juveniles in question, who all lived in the area, and told them about the complaint. Officers did not see any type of suspicious behavior.
– A verbal dispute was reported at 8:36 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Aetna Street. Both parties were advised to avoid each other for the rest of the night.
– A domestic was reported at 8:20 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Continental Drive. There was a verbal dispute over a vehicle, with no physical violence reported by either party. The female involved was transported to SRMC by ambulance after complaining of stomach pains.
– Officers responded with sheriff’s deputies to several locations in the city on Saturday to check for persons with active arrest warrants.
– An intoxicated man was reported walking in the road on Bank Street at 7:26 p.m. Saturday, but was not found.
– Officers checked two separate locations in the city for a report of stolen property at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, but nothing was located.
– A person was requested removed from the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 7:02 p.m. Saturday. A woman said she asked a man she knows to leave. He left after she called the police. She was told to call back if he returns and was told the process for obtaining a protection order.
– Police were called at 6:22 p.m. Saturday to the 400 block of Aetna for a reported theft. Officers spoke with the people and told them the situation was civil in nature.
– William J. McFarland, 44, of 308 Ohio Ave., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, driving under suspension and speeding after a traffic stop at 6:04 p.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of East Third Street. He was released to a sober ride.
– An ATV was reported in the road on Olive Street at 4:03 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area for several minutes, but were unable to locate an ATV.
– A woman was taken to SRMC after police were called to the Walmart parking lot, 2875 E. State St., at 2:12 p.m. Saturday for a suspicious vehicle. The report said a blue Chevy SUV had reportedly been sitting in the parking lot over 12 hours with the driver still inside. Officers spoke with the female driver who said she had some things to return and was making a list but had not yet exited the vehicle due to the rain. Officers observed the female to have very slow, slurred speech, contracted pupils and noted she looked pale in appearance.
– City police were requested by Perry Township at 2:03 p.m. Saturday to check an open door in the 1000 block of West State Street. The building was found secure.
– A caller at 9:47 a.m. Saturday reported a child from a residence in the 300 block of Fair threw a rock at a relative’s vehicle. Officers found no one home and no vehicles in front or beside the residence. No one answered the door. Officers spoke with the neighbors who knew nothing. The report was unfounded.
Salem
Firefighters were called at 2:27 p.m. Sunday to the 1200 block of Franklin for a residential fire alarm. It showed a smoke alarm activation in the basement, but no problems were found. The resident was advised to have the alarm serviced.
– A citizen called at 9:04 a.m. Saturday to report dropping car keys down into a storm drain in the parking lot at Aldi’s, 2495 E. State St. Firefighters were able to retrieve the keys.

Highway Patrol
– Amy J. Barr, 45, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, followed by Herbert B. Heck, 55, Carlisle Road, Lisbon, were both exiting the northbound ramp from U.S. Route 30 onto state Route 7 in St. Clair Township at 1:05 p.m. May 7. Barr started to pull away from the stop sign, but then stopped and was struck from behind by Heck. Due to the minimal amount of damage, no citations were issued.
– Mabel I. Donnalley, 32, Kensington Road, Kensington, was westbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 11:25 a.m. Friday when she slowed to make a northbound turn into a driveway and was struck from behind by Ryann A. Wells, 36, Dover. The impact pushed Donnalley, who was driving a Chevy Cobalt, off the north side of the road, causing her to strike a ditch. Donnalley was transported to SRMC by Damascus EMS with possible injuries. Wells was cited with assured clear distance.
– Bryan M. Brown, 35, Globe Street, East Liverpool, was stopped southbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 11:45 a.m. Friday in preparation of making a left turn into a parking area when he was struck from behind by Bernard G. Warrick, 84, Warren Avenue, East Liverpool. Warrick was cited with assured clear distance. There were no injuries reported.
– Lorie J. Yarrison, 45, Main Street, North George-town, was northbound on Rochester Road in West Township when she went off the right side of the road, striking a guardrail and a utility pole at 5:24 p.m. Thursday. She was cited with reasonable control.
– Amy L. Shanahan, 38, Metro Street, Northwest, Minerva, was eastbound on Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday when she struck a deer, which ran into the roadway. The deer bounced off Shanahan’s vehicle. Melissa N. Saunders, 28, Canton, also was eastbound on Georgetown Road behind Shanahan and struck the same deer, damaging the undercarriage and engine compartment of her vehicle. The deer was killed.
– Ronald Lee Foster, 71, Beaver Falls, Pa., was westbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 1:20 p.m. Friday and stopped in traffic, when he was struck from behind by Edward Jeffrey Miller, 19, Creek Road, New Waterford. Miller was cited with assured clear distance. No injuries were reported.
– Dennis H. Smith Jr., 69, McDonald Street, East Liverpool, was northeastbound on state Route 267 at 9:55 a.m. Thursday and struck a deer attempting to cross the road. The deer was killed on impact.
– Karen E. Stockman, 48, East Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was westbound on state Route 172 at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday when she crossed the centerline, traveled off the left side of the road and struck a ditch. Stockman was cited with reasonable control.
– Karen S. Lewis, 59, Mountz Road, Salem, was driving a Southern Local bus eastbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 3 p.m. Tuesday when she went by a westbound Magic Enterprises Inc. tow truck driven by Michael D. Himes, 51, Strasburg. A wheel came off the vehicle being towed by Himes and struck Lewis’ vehicle. There were no injuries. Himes was cited with unsafe vehicle.
– Someone driving an unknown, silver Saturn, was northbound on Carey Road at the intersection of Georgetown Road in Butler Township at 4:06 p.m. May 8 when the driver failed to yield at the stop sign. A westbound vehicle driven on Georgetown Road by Lauren Jaylynn Ketterman, 23, state Route 45, Lisbon, swerved to the right to avoid striking the other vehicle. Ketterman went off the roadway and spun out back onto the roadway striking a guardrail. The driver of the Saturn continued across Georgetown Road onto Valley Road. No injuries were reported.
– Yvonna M. Parsons, 31, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 2:43 p.m. May 6 when she attempted to turn left onto McCormick Run Road without yielding to a westbound vehicle driven by Edward D. Ludwig, 62, state Route 39, Salineville. Parsons struck Ludwig and the impact caused Ludwig to strike a vehicle, stopped at the stop sign for McCormick Run Road, driven by Lisa Kay Bloor, 49, McCormick Run, Salineville.
County Sheriff
– Ed Leonard, Main Street, Beloit, attempted to contact deputies on April 27 about someone trespassing on his property with ATVs, but when deputies tried to call him back, he could not be reached. On Saturday, Leonard spoke with a deputy stating he believes people are trespassing on his property on Hazel Run Road in Washington Township, conducting hill climbs.
– Samantha Larkins, Leetonia Road, Leetonia, reported at 12:46 p.m. Saturday her ex-boyfriend, Darrell Wolfe, has been harassing her via social media. She blocked him and then began receiving messages from his new girlfriend. Deputies explained how to obtain a protection order.
– Shirley Katstenhuber, Slater Road, Salem, reported at 8:40 a.m. Saturday her mailbox was destroyed overnight.
– Robin Woodburn, no address listed, reported at 11:06 a.m. Saturday she was concerned about her brother, who she believes is bipolar and has been taking things from his parents’ house to sell. When he gets to the home, he often becomes angry and Woodburn was concerned he will harm himself or someone else. Someone from the parents’ home also called deputies, stating Robert Jordan had come to the house and was being combative. Deputies and a trooper with the highway patrol arrived and one of the troopers was speaking with him. He agreed to go with North Star Ambulance to have his hand checked, which he had used to strike the floor, and be evaluated at the SRMC.
– Katelin Hurst, state Route 154, New Waterford, reported at 1:10 p.m. Saturday someone used the numbers from her credit card to make purchases at Champs sports store and Crazy Eights children’s store at the Boardman Southern Park Mall.
Columbiana
– An employee of the Methodist Church reported at 8:23 a.m. Thursday a Jeep was parked in the lot for three days and it appeared someone was sleeping in it. Police checked and told Casey and Heather Huffman to leave.
– An aggressive dog was reported in the area of Union and West Park at 2:17 p.m. Thursday. Police checked the area, but did not find the dog.
– Police noted high grass at 133 W. Park Ave. at 2:34 p.m. Thursday.
– Someone on Stanton Avenue reported at 5:18 p.m. Thursday a man was going door-to-door soliciting to make roof repairs. Police found Brett Prest, 44, Youngs-town, and warned him about soliciting without a permit.
– At 6:39 p.m. Thursday police attempted to assist Boardman police searching for a woman from a West Salem Street home, who was reportedly involved in a hit skip in Boardman Township. They were unable to find her.
– A woman on Firestone Avenue reported at 6:56 p.m. Thursday her neighbors’ cats are coming over to her property and being destructive. Police spoke to the cats’ owner, who agreed to take care of the problem.
– A woman reported at 7:57 a.m. Friday the door at Family Video was unlocked, but the store was not supposed to be open until noon.
– Crystal Boggs, Fairfield Avenue, Columbiana, reported at 9:39 a.m. Friday she found a needle in her yard and wanted police to come pick it up.
– Kim Gamble, Columbiana, reported at 11:40 a.m. Friday the door was open at Family Video and she had walked right in, but no one was there.
– Philip Mastronardi, Columbiana, reported at 12:19 p.m. Friday he had previously left items on consignment at Kimpel’s and they were not returned.
– The manager of Family Video reported at 12:21 p.m. Friday she arrived at work and the cash was missing from the cash box.
– A fire alarm at Universal Percussion at 1:30 p.m. Friday was determined to be someone testing the sprinkler system.
– Michelle Moraski, Columbiana, reported at 2:54 p.m. Friday her grandson was injured by another child while outside playing on Thursday and she was not certain of what to do about it.
– A possible crash was reported near the McDonald’s entrance on Main at 3:57 p.m. Friday, but both drivers left before police arrived.
– James E. Miller, North Vine Street, reported at 4:28 p.m. Friday he was being harassed by someone he knows. He was asked to leave the home, where he has been staying, by Kurt Jennings.
– Police were called to an argument on Fitzpatrick Street at 7:03 p.m. Friday.
-A man reported six to eight children playing baseball in the street on West Salem Street near Main Street at 7:51 p.m. Friday. Police checked the area, but found no children in the street.
East Palestine
– A man was reported walking on West Main Street in the middle of the roadway at 11:13 p.m. Thursday. Police offered to give him a ride, but he insisted he wanted to walk, so they followed behind him so he would not be struck by traffic. He was near home.
-Shelby Walker, East Taggart Street, reported at 1:26 p.m. Wednesday she had been cleaning out her vehicle in the front yard and had placed a box of blankets and several newer folding chairs in the yard while she cleaned the interior. She then went inside for a few minutes and the items were gone when she returned.
– Police were asked to check on a North Liberty Street woman at 6:16 p.m. Thursday, because she reportedly wanted to harm herself. The woman adamantly denied making any threats about harming herself or having any such intentions.
– Tim Griffith reported at 11:43 a.m. Tuesday his father, James Griffith, received a call from someone with an accent posing as being from the IRS and accusing him of owing more than $9,000. Police told Griffith it is a scam and to hang up on them.
-Patricia Madden, no address listed, reported at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday she has been receiving calls from someone claiming to be from the IRS.
– A small brown dog was reported running loose in City Park at 3:04 p.m. Tuesday, but it was gone when police arrived.
– Austin Huffman, West North Avenue, reported at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday there was a vehicle parked in the alley way. He also claimed it was the fourth time he has called in two days. The dispatcher attempted to inform him a police officer had already gone out and the car is parked in a yard.
– Ron Crown, West Martin Street, reported at 6:08 p.m. Tuesday he received a call from the IRS claiming he owes about $11,000 in back taxes. He figured it was a scam, but just wanted to report it.
– Nathan Sugar, Carbon Hill Road, reported at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday he received an IRS call claiming he owed $2,00 in back taxes.
– Danielle Simons, state Route 267, reported at 7:14 p.m. Tuesday child support is being taken out of her check, but her employer did not pay it to the courts.
– James Grappo, West Grant Street, reported at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday he received a scam IRS call.
– Carl Hunter, West Main Street, reported a pit bull or boxer dog he found in the area at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday. Police picked the dog up and when they were unable to locate the owner the next day, the dog was picked up by Jessica Gordon of the dog pound.
– Frances Ross, Richardson Avenue, reported at 9:34 a.m. Thursday someone damaged her front yard from a PAM semi truck Wednesday night. Jasar claims they did not have a PAM truck that night.
– Mary Bingham, East Martin Street, reported at 11:01 a.m. Thursday she received a scam IRS call and hung up on them like she does all scam calls.
– A suspicious vehicle was found in the park near the Girl Scout cabin at 1:48 p.m. Thursday. It was found to be someone working on the Haunted Trail.
-Joshua Perkins, a truck driver, reported at 1:58 p.m. Thursday he missed the detour signs and was at the construction site on state Route 170. Police helped the truck find a way to turn around and got them headed out of town on another route.
– Lois Kale, Howell Road, reported at 5:16 p.m. Thursday her purse was stolen. She had been at Styles by Kenneth and believed she left it there, but when she went back it was gone. She had $200 and both her bank and union cards in the purse. Police checked Styles by Kenneth, with the permission of the owner, but were unable to find the purse. Kale called police at 6:34 p.m. to report she found it.
-Tiera Ibel, North Market Street, reported at 8:21 p.m. Thursday Juan Anchondo was harassing her by texting and stopping at her house. He left when she told him she was calling police.
-A suspicious man was reported in the park acting strange in the area of the tennis courts at 11:18 a.m. Friday. He left shortly after police were notified.
Salem
– An officer in the parking lot of Home Depot at 4:52 a.m. Saturday was advised of a man lying on the edge of the road just east of the city on state Route 14. The officer began checking the area and the Goshen Township Police Department was contacted to respond. A man was found lying on the edge of the road near Egypt Road and state Route 14 and began moving as the officer approached, saying he needed an ambulance for a medical condition. The Green Township Fire Department was contacted to respond and Goshen Township Police arrived to handle the call.
– A possible intoxicated driver was reported at 1:58 a.m. Saturday in the area of State Street traveling east. Police located the vehicle traveling at a low rate of speed and weaving within its lane on East State Street at Park Avenue and also striking a curb at Southeast Boulevard. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle pulled over top of the curb in front of Bob Evans and into the curb lawn. The driver was an elderly male who was not from the area. He was not intoxicated. An officer escorted the driver and his wife to the Salem Holiday Inn and contacted family members to make them aware of the incident and their location.
– A officer at 1:44 a.m. Saturday saw a suspicious red Chrysler sedan parked on the east end of the business plaza in the 2900 block of East State. The vehicle was secure and nobody was around.
– A dog was reported running in the road in the 1800 block of North Ellsworth at 1:20 a.m. Saturday. Police saw the dog in the front yard of a residence bark a few times and a male opened the door to let the dog inside. The officer did not see the dog on the road.
– An officer on patrol at 12:26 a.m. Saturday on East State Street near Lincoln Avenue noticed an illegally parked vehicle in front of a business. The owner of the vehicle said he was loading equipment and would be moving shortly. He was told he would need to park in the back parking lot for loading and unloading and was not permitted to park in front of the business.
– An intoxicated person was reported near the 1100 block of East State Street at 10:49 p.m. Friday, but was not found.
– A barking dog was reported at 10:19 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Arch Street. Contact could not be made with the owner, but a tag was left on the door and a citation may be issued.
– A caller late Friday reported two dogs roaming free attacked a neighbor’s dog. Contact was made with the owner of the dog which was attacked. The dogs at large could not be found.
– Seth Guy, 24, of 296 E. Wisconsin Ave., Sebring, was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth after a one-vehicle accident in the 2100 block of Bentley reported at 9:32 p.m. Friday. The driver, Guy, lost control and the vehicle went left of center, over the curb and struck a utility pole. Charges are pending.
– A male at East Fourth and Vine spoke to police at 7:28 p.m. Friday, saying he was riding his skateboard down the street when a male stopped his vehicle and began making threats towards him.
– A missing person was reported on North Ellsworth at 7:01 p.m. Friday by a female who said she had not seen her son for a few hours and that was not like him. Iit was found the boy had been sleeping in his bedroom.
– A man from the 500 block of West Pershing Street came to the police station at 6:38 p.m. Friday to file a menacing complaint. He said he had gone into a local business and one of the workers there made threats towards him.
– An officer was called to State Street and South Ellsworth Avenue at 6:31 p.m. Friday to clear debris from the roadway.
– A dispute was reported at 2:01 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of West Fourth Street. Both said it was just verbal over personal matters. There was no sign of violence.
POLICE
County Sheriff
– Dave Spencer, Kibler Road, New Waterford, reported at 6:18 p.m. Thursday items from his truck and shed were stolen. He also told deputies he has noticed other items missing from the property over the last few weeks.
East Liverpool
– Officers were asked Tuesday to accompany Kacey N. Kraft to the Dresden Avenue home of Christopher Craft, 22, so she could retrieve her vehicle keys from him. Officers reported being able to see Craft inside the home through a door window but that he refused to answer the door for some time. When Craft did answer the door, he was swinging his arms, cursing and yelling at officers, they reported. Told numerous times to calm down, Craft continued his behavior, at one point wrestling with his brother before coming back outside and again yelling at officers and beating his head against the door window. Craft was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication.
– Kayla L. Nelson, 24, Ambrose Avenue, was charged Wednesday evening with theft after employees of Giant Eagle reported seeing her conceal two steaks valued at $11.30 in her purse then leave the store without paying.
– Amber A. Faulk, aka Cox, 34, was charged with theft after reportedly concealing two bottles of vodka, valued at $8.56, in her purse at Giant Eagle.
– A vehicle was spotted by officers Thursday turning from Ninth Street onto Green Lane without using a turn signal and was stopped. The driver, Gary T. McElroy Carter, 24, Youngstown, was asked where he was going and said his girlfriend’s, but officers reported he could not give an address or her name. His passenger, Darrell Strowder, was from Cleveland. Officers said the vehicle smelled like marijuana and both men admitted they had recently smoked a marijuana cigarette. The vehicle was searched by K-9 officer Ivo, after which burned marijuana and a bottle of pills without a label were discovered inside. Strowder told officers the pills were his because he was “burned,” which they defined as slang for having an infection. An open Suboxone was also found inside the vehicle, according to reports. McElroy Carter was charged with possession of marijuana and the turn signal violation. Strowder was not charged. Items were sent for testing with other charges possibly forthcoming, according to K-9 officer Chad Tatgenhorst.
St. Clair Township
– Police had reported responding to a Cannons Mill Road home in reference to a runaway juvenile, whose family then reported the 15-year-old Beaver Local student missing. Her father reported via social media Friday that she was found safe and was en route home.
– Willis D. Hammon, address not listed, reported the theft of a trimmer from his back porch.
Salem
– Police responded to the 200 block of East Fourth Street at 5:37 p.m. Thursday where a resident reported someone had entered her vehicle and removed several items. She said another vehicle had also been entered, but nothing taken.
– Officers responded to a Lexington Avenue home at 7:27 p.m. Thursday in reference to a woman who may have taken too much medication, but found that she had already left upon arrival.
– An officer responded to the 1000 block of East Fourth Street at 7:42 p.m. Thursday for a report of neighbors arguing in the roadway. They were separated and sent their own ways.
– Officers responded to an 800 block East Third Street home at 8:31 p.m. Thursday where the resident reported someone had entered his unlocked vehicle, although nothing appeared to be missing.
– Michael A.J. Boggs, 25, 2200 Goshen Road, Salem, was charged with theft allegedly attempting to steal $4.25 worth of merchandise from a 200 block West State Street business.
– Police responded to the 700 block of West Wilson Street at 8:35 p.m. Thursday in reference to a 2-year-old boy suffering seizures and not breathing. Medical personnel were able to get him breathing again, and transported him to the hospital.
– Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Fourth Street at 2:36 a.m. Friday where a resident reported a prowler banging on her doors and asking to be let in due to the rain. The officers were unable to find anyone in the area.
– Police responded to the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 9:08 a.m. Friday in reference to an uncooperative man suffering a medical issue. Medical personnel arrived and ultimately transported him to the hospital.
– A Leetonia resident reported at 9:49 a.m. Friday that the mother of her son’s child had repeatedly violated her protection order.
– A California resident reported at 12:30 p.m. Friday that his mother had called upset that a circus was being set up at the Salem Community Center next to her residence and she was afraid someone was going to break into her home. An officer contacted the woman who said she was not afraid, but angry. She was assured that an officer would be in the area during the circus’ duration.
– A Stewart Road resident reported at 12:33 p.m. Friday that his daughter’s mother had shown up at her preschool graduation ceremony in Centennial Park that day and caused a scene. The mother arrived at station and claimed that the father was the one making a scene. The matter was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.
Perry Township
– Police performed a welfare check of an elderly man that had just been released from the hospital after a relative reported she could not get hold of him at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday. The man was found mowing his grass.
– Brian Bloor, 41, East Liverpool, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop at 6:29 p.m. Wednesday.
– Police responded to a Prospect Street apartment at 4:24 p.m. Thursday in reference to a loud verbal argument. Those involved said no violence had occurred and one of them gathered his belongings to leave.
– Police responded to a Prospect Street apartment complex at 7:40 p.m. Thursday in reference to a possible assault between two juveniles. The officer found the juveniles had been playing football and one of them had been accidentally struck in face by the ball.
Goshen Police District
– An officer responded to the area of Beaver Creek and Pine Lake roads at 2:03 p.m. Thursday in reference to a lost horse.
– An officer responded to the area of Beaver Creek and Roller roads at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was found to be okay and the incident was turned over to the highway patrol.
– An officer responded to the Beloit Ruritan Park at 7:01 p.m. Thursday in reference to a domestic dispute.

County Sheriff
– Rachel Blackwood, North Street, Salineville, reported at 12:59 a.m. Thursday she was in bed and heard people outside. She looked out and saw two people running toward the alley. She got dressed and went outside, but they had left the area. She noticed the rear end of a car missing.
– Someone called 911 in the area of Steubenville Pike near Endley Road at 3:35 a.m. Thursday, but deputies could not find anything happening or signs of anyone awake in that area.
Highway Patrol
– Joe Fredrick Jackson, 52, Ogden Street, East Liverpool, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in St. Clair Township at 2:57 p.m. April 4 and reportedly swerved to avoid another vehicle and went off the left side into a median wall. He was cited for failure to control.
– Sherry E. Scarabino, 56, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 10 p.m. Monday and pulled onto a private drive and struck a ditch while attempting to back onto the road. She was cited for seat belt.
Lisbon
– Diana L. Thompson, 55, Eagleton Road, Lisbon, was westbound on East Chestnut Street at 8:44 a.m. Wednesday and struck Christina M. Howells-McGath, 45, Woodville Road, Leetonia, who was southbound on North Jefferson Street. Thompson was cited for right of way and Howells-McGath was taken by ambulance to the SRMC with possible injuries.
– Stevie Halverstadt, South Vine Street, reported at 12:26 p.m. Wednesday someone called her claiming to be from the IRS and saying she owed $11,000 and that she would be arrested if they did not cooperate. Halverstadt told police she gave them her birth date and Social Security number. Police told her that IRS does not call people or threaten arrest and that she should keep an eye on her credit card activity.
– Brenda Austin of the county dog warden’s office requested at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday police accompany her to 518 E. Chestnut St. in reference to a dog locked in an abandoned house. Austin told police that a neighbor reported a puppy was running around inside and a dog was locked in the upstairs bathroom, and that no one had been around the house since last week when the grass was mowed. Austin also told police that she was able to get the puppy once it escaped the house and that she was also able to get inside after knocking on the door and finding it open and that once inside she found garbage and dog feces everywhere and a dog in the upstairs bathroom with no food or water.
– At 3:14 p.m. Tuesday police warned the owners of two vehicles parked in a no parking area on Chestnut Street to move the vehicles or they would be cited.
Columbiana
– Rachel Krosky, North Elm Street, reported at 8:21 a.m. Wednesday someone set live traps on a vacant lot and a possum and its baby have been inside the trap for two days and she doesn’t know who set the traps since the property owner said he didn’t set the traps. Police contacted a Firestone Avenue resident and learned the traps were placed by a hired pest control company to catch, relocate and release a ground hog. The resident was advised to notify the company and place traps only on their property and release the captured animal.
– Dean Bowman of Columbiana, address not listed, reported at 11:47 a.m. Wednesday he received a call from a man who identified himself as John Watts and claimed to be a public defender and was saying that Bowman’s daughter had been involved in a crash and was found to be intoxicated and the man claimed to need $2,900 wired so she could be released. Bowman told police the man later called back asking about the status of the wire transfer and when he told the man he had contacted police, the man hung up.
– The Dollar General manager reported at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday an elderly male customer said he was told by someone over the phone to buy $500 in credit cards, which the store refused to do, believing the man was being scammed.
– Kari Forney of Leetonia was stopped in traffic facing westbound on state Route 14 at the Dunkin Donuts parking lot entrance at 12:38 p.m. Wednesday and Terry Hoffman of East Palestine struck her vehicle from behind. No injuries were reported and no citations were issued.
– Police received a high grass complaint for 257 Brenda Lane at 1:59 p.m. Wednesday. High grass was also reported on Fitzpatrick Avenue along the Youngstown and Southern Railroad tracks.
– At 4:57 p.m. Wednesday police checked on a report of items that were pawned at Cash Land that had possibly been stolen.
– A Dairy Queen employee reported at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday ketchup bottles were exploding at random the last few days and believed they had been tampered with.
– Emily K. Guarnieri, 43, Boardman, was southbound on state Route 7 at 7:19 a.m. Tuesday and Elizabeth A. Conkle, 58, Clarkson Road, Rogers, was northbound and made a left turn into the path of Guarnieri’s vehicle. Conkle was cited for failure to yield.
– Jessie L. Wallace, 28, Columbus, was preparing to turn east on West Salem Street at 10:58 a.m. Monday and was struck by Paul E. Wilson Jr., 53, Girard, who was attempting to turn south on North Pearl Street. Wilson was cited for improper turning.
Salem
– A woman in the 200 block of East Sixth Street reported at 2:48 p.m. Thursday that her car was parked on the street overnight and illegally entered. Someone went through the center console and glove box. Nothing appeared to be missing.
– A woman from the 400 block of East Euclid came to the police station at 2:39 p.m. Thursday to report that a man who used to live at the residence moved out three days ago and she had not seen him, then on Thursday, but believed he entered the residence and removed her dog from the cage inside while she was gone. The male called the department and said he knew nothing about the dog. She was very upset and irate over the situation. She was advised to call her landlord and she didn’t want the man staying there anymore.
– A caller at 1:13 p.m. Thursday reported an ongoing problem with vehicles parking on the road blocking driveways on Bank Street. A ticket was issued for a black SUV parked less than 5 feet from a driveway. The vehicle was later moved.
– A woman reported at 1:02 p.m. Thursday that she and her boyfriend were involved in an argument in the city when he pushed her. Another female on the scene said the same and that he also pushed her when she confronted him. No visible injuries were observed.
– A caller in the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 9:44 a.m. Thursday reported two dogs running at large. She was concerned over her own smaller outdoor pet and the dogs getting hit by a car. An officer located the owner a few doors down and explained the complaint and the city ordinance related to dogs at large.
– Officers responded at 4:23 a.m. Thursday to a parking lot in the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue for a report of a male and female arguing. They were not found.
– Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of East State Street at 11:41 p.m. Wednesday to check the well-being of a person who resides there. Contact was attempted, but no one answered the door.
– Police responded at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday to recover property found in a residence in the 400 block of Aetna Street. Items included two mini water speakers, various tools and drug paraphernalia. All the items were logged into evidence, with officers disposing of the drug paraphernalia.
– A caller at 9:06 p.m. Wednesday reported a possible juvenile sitting near the road wearing dark clothes in the area of Summit Street and Cedar Ridge, with the caller noting he nearly struck the person with his vehicle. Officers checked the area and found the person walking on Franklin Avenue. He said he was fine and had been taking a short break from walking. He said he would stay away from the curb area.
– Police returned at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday to a West Wilson Street residence in the 600 block for an intoxicated female in a verbal dispute with her sister. Officers had already been to the residence earlier and warned the intoxicated female to cease being disorderly or she would be arrested. She had been using profane language outside in the presence of two adults and several children which could be heard by neighbors. She fled the area and police were unable to find her. Police had been there at 8:23 p.m. for a domestic dispute when the intoxicated sister was warned about her disorderly conduct.
– An unruly juvenile was reported at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Aetna Street where a man reported his son and his friend had run away with intentions of going to Virginia. He filled out a missing person/runaway report.
– A bank card and grocery store card found in a parking lot of a local business were turned over to police at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday. The owner was contacted and picked them up.
– Police were called at 7:14 p.m. Wednesday to Faith Chapel church off of Pershing Street for a reckless operator. A woman said the vehicle was being driven erratically in the parking lot and almost hit her. The person driving the vehicle said he wasn’t intentionally trying to hit her.
– A juvenile at 6:59 p.m. Wednesday reported seeing smoke in the 400 block of Ash Street and thought there was a fire at a neighbor’s house. Officers checked the area and found the neighbor had a legal bon fire.
– A dispute involving several people was reported at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue. A resident was yelling at his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend who was picking up his child for visitation. He left after taking the child and the male resident continued to express his displeasure with the girlfriend allowing the child’s father to take the child. He told her she could take her things and leave but police told him he would have to evict her since she had been living there. They were told to stay away from each other if they couldn’t get along. He intended to go elsewhere for the night.
– Police were asked at 6:03 p.m. Wednesday to check the well-being of a male resident in the 800 block of New Garden Avenue. The woman said they had children and he was keeping the children from her and was threatening to set himself on fire. Officers spoke with the male who advised he was not going to harm himself and that the female made up the information.
– Excessive smoke was reported at 5:56 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Ohio Avenue where a man was found burning freshly cut brush with green leaves. The fire department also responded and the man was advised of the ordinance prohibiting the burning of brush and unseasoned wood. He put out the fire.
– A possible scam was reported at 4:43 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Fair Avenue where a woman said a person with a foreign accent claiming to be an IRS agent called her saying she must make a payment in the form of iTunes gift cards or she would be arrested. The male suspect called back numerous times and the victim purchased numerous iTunes cards and provided the card numbers to the caller. Officers documented the information. Police advised that anyone dealing with a suspicious tax fraud activity should visit the IRS website and click on the link for Tax Fraud and Abuse, then follow the on-screen instructions.
– A theft was reported from a vehicle at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of East State Street. The victim said two cameras were stolen from his vehicle which was parked behind the business where he works. There was no sign of forced entry. The equipment stolen was valued at $5,000.
– Police at 1:43 p.m. Wednesday were dispatched to a neighbor dispute on Rose Avenue. Residents in one apartment said someone told them not to park where they were and not to litter. They denied the littering and were legally parked. The officer was unable to find the person who called.
Perry Township
– Police were asked at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday to check on a report of a downed tree on Egypt Road north of state Route 14, but found none after checking Egypt from Route 14 to Pine Lake Road.
– A gold Grand Am was reported being driven erratically through the neighborhood multiple times in the area of Old Coach Lane and Hearthside Drive at 4:47 p.m. Tuesday, but the vehicle was not found.
– Thomas Macolino, of state Route 164, Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at 4 p.m. Tuesday on South Lincoln Avenue south of the township line. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was picked up by family member.
– A Duck Creek Road resident reported at 9:29 a.m. Tuesday that he was assaulted while at a business on North Ellsworth Avenue while checking on the status of his vehicle that was being worked on. He said all he wants is his vehicle back and that the owner of the body shop refuses to release the vehicle. He was advised to contact a lawyer and seek a civil course against the business. He didn’t want to file charges at this time.
– Tara Hamilton, of West South Range Road, reported at 7:31 a.m. Tuesday that she struck a deer while northbound on U.S. Route 62/state Route 45. The crash caused moderate damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
St. Clair Township
– Officials of Walmart reported a female shoplifter ran out of the store with a purseful of unpaid-for merchandise. She jumped into a blue Cavalier and fled the parking lot.
– Michael S. Harvey, 63, no address listed, reported receiving a letter from PayPal, notifying him that someone opened an account in his name, which he canceled.
– Greg J. Roof, 48, no address listed, reported being threatened by a person he knows in the Walmart lot.
POLICE
County Sheriff
– Northstar Ambulance reported at 5:14 a.m. Tuesday they had responded to a home on Y&O Road, Lisbon, where the resident had been found dead by her husband. She had recently been taking medication for hypertension and had also recently had an ovary removed. He had been sleeping on the couch and found her lying on the floor beside the bed shortly after 5 a.m. Her doctor agreed to sign a death certificate.
– Hugh Lasater, Dillonvale, reported at 4:37 p.m. Monday his three children were supposed to be returned on Sunday by 6 p.m., but were not returned. The deputies spoke to the children’s grandmother, Sandra Messenger, who said court paperwork stated Lasater was responsible for picking the children up. She agreed to give him the children if he came to get them. Deputies spoke again with Lasater, who said it was Messenger’s responsibility to return the children. He was told to notify his attorney if he believed there was a violation of court orders.
– Richard Brown, Cream Ridge Road, Lisbon, reported at 11:47 a.m. Monday during the past week, someone entered his unlocked garage and removed a handcart holding an Oxy-Acetylene torch outfit. He believes it was a Victor and had 50 feet of red and green hose.
– Larry Taylor, Washington, had reported on April 23 he had been told people were riding ATVs on his property on St. Jacobs-Logtown Road. On Monday he called to report damage he found on his property, including more paths through the property.
Lisbon
– Richard R. Vecchio, 53, state Route 164, was charged with public intoxication and having an open container of alcohol in public while walking on Maple Street at 12:29 a.m. Tuesday.
Columbiana
– A C. Tucker Cope employee reported at noon Monday kids were trespassing in the fenced in area of the property on Pittsburgh Street over the weekend.
– A Lakeview Drive woman reported at 1:49 p.m. Monday she was harassed through the mail and believed it was her soon to be ex-husband’s girlfriend.
Salem
– At 2:44 a.m. Friday, police made a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Pershing Street and charged Chad D. Raymond, 110 W. Pershing St., with OVI and a marked lane violation.
– Rory Leider, of the 1200 block of East Third Street, reported at 4:48 p.m. Monday that his 2002 Ford Escape was legally parked on the street when it was struck by another vehicle which fled the area. The left rear bumper was damaged.
– Dennis Kleinman, 55, of West Fifth Street, Beloit, was cited for assured clear distance after allegedly causing a four-car chain reaction accident in the 1400 block of East State Street at 3:09 p.m. Friday. According to the report, Kleinman’s westbound vehicle failed to stop and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Cristine Adams, 50, of Franklin Avenue, who was stopped for traffic and ended up hitting the rear of a vehicle driven by Jennifer Starcher, 29, of Andrew Avenue, also stopped for traffic, who then struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Tonya Rupert, 42, of Liberty Street. Starcher and a passenger in the Adams vehicle, 76-year-old Patricia Crowl, of Franklin Avenue, were each taken by ambulance to Salem Regional Medical Center for possible injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Perry Township
– A resident in the 1800 block of Countryside Drive reported a case of fraud at 4:53 p.m. Saturday, saying she was made aware of a government grant to receive $85,000 and gave out her credit card information, but then had the card canceled after realizing it was a fraud.
– Wildie Hillman, 27, of Alliance, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and passing in a no passing zone after a traffic stop at 12:46 a.m. Saturday on West State Street at the township limits.
– Police were advised at 8:53 p.m. Friday about a juvenile female walking towards Salem on Goshen Road crossing the bypass wearing all dark clothing and no shoes. Another person said they asked the female if she was alright and she said she did not know where she was and continued walking into Salem. Officers from both Salem and Perry Township checked the area, with the juvenile located in the city limits. She refused to cooperate with officers’ requests and attempted to run away. Sharon Lynn Group Home reported a female juvenile missing and was responding to identify her at the Salem Police Department.
Wellsville
– Ivan Chase reported at 8:55 p.m. May 4 his 2009 Ford F-150 was backed into. Chase said he was in contact with another man that stated he saw the accident occur.
– Caleb Kountz reported at 5:30 p.m. Friday that Abby Willis had just beat him up. Both were cited for assault.
– Police were called at 2:45 p.m. Saturday to a Wood Street residence regarding a theft. Officers spoke with Pat Gibson, who reported her lawn mower stolen. An investigation is pending.
– Jessica Conger, state Route 213, Irondale, reported around 5 p.m. Saturday that her son’s father violated a protection order.
Goshen Police District
– Derek Paul Martin, 22, League City, Texas, was cited for right of way at stop signs following a two-vehicle crash in Goshen Township at 11:05 a.m. Saturday in which he was eastbound on state Route 165 and pulled from the stop sign at state Route 14, striking a southbound vehicle driven by Dale Richard Gorby, 73, Columbiana. No injuries were reported.
– Elizabeth Anne Makin, 16, Alliance, was cited for driving under suspension and left of center following a traffic stop on state Route 165 near Stratton Road at 7:31 p.m. Saturday.
– Thomas F. Hiznay Jr., 26, Columbiana, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in the 5000 block of state Route 165 in Green Township at 7 a.m. Tuesday in which he was westbound and traveled across the center line, into a yard, back onto the roadway and finally spinning into a ditch on the opposite side of the road. No injuries were reported.
– Brianne Lynn Black, 33, Beloit, was cited for improper starting and backing following a two-vehicle crash in the 14000 block of South Main Street in Beloit at 8:11 a.m. Tuesday in which she attempted to back out of her drive and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Stephen L. Jones, 60, Salem. No injuries were reported.
East Liverpool
– Latasha Herron, Canton Street, reported Sunday her father was tearing up the apartment, where water was flooding the house and he had barricaded himself in the bedroom. Officers arrived and looked through a window, where they saw the range overturned and possibly leaking gas with the fireplace lit. The fire department was called and arrived to help assist officers in gaining entrance. The man was taken to the hospital.
– Mary Haught, Oak Street, reported someone marked “KKK” on the side of her vehicle while it was parked at her home or at the Moose Lodge downtown.
– Officers responded to a report of possible child abuse at a Lincoln Avenue home, with an investigation begun.
– Christopher Thompson, East Fifth Street, reported receiving threatening text messages from a person he knows who is related to his girlfriend.
Liverpool Township
– An officer reported seeing a vehicle on state Route 7 with no license plate light, traveling over the white line. When he stopped the vehicle, the officer reported smelling marijuana coming from inside and asked the driver, Alec J. Jones, 21, Richmond, for consent to search, and Jones told him he had a little marijuana in his book bag. He handed the officer a plastic container from the bag which contained a green leafy substance. The officer also reported finding a Mason jar inside the book bag filled with the same green leafy substance. Wellsville’s K-9 officer Chief was called to the scene and reportedly alerted on the book bag. Jones was charged with the plate light violation and possession of marijuana.

County Sheriff
– Dan Chamberlin, Perry Grange Road, Salem, reported at 1:43 p.m. Thursday he has been having problems with his neighbor, trespassing on his property while hunting and trapping. On Thursday morning, Chamberlin said he saw the neighbor, Karl Wollet, on an ATV setting traps on his property. He had yelled at Wollet and they had words. Wollet was reportedly carrying a machete and a handgun. Chamberlin had gone back to his house and got a shotgun. He returned to the area, heard a gunshot fired and a branch fell out of a tree nearby. Wollet told deputies and a wildlife officer he was out on his ATV earlier and Chamberlin yelled at him. He denied firing any shots or hearing any shots fired while he was out. The wildlife officer went out with Chamberlin to see the traps, but they could not find them.
– Kevin McBride, North Howard Avenue, Salem, reported at 4:58 a.m. Sunday he and another man he did not wish to name got into a fight at a location on state Route 45, Salem. He did not want to pursue criminal charges.
– Dave Jett, Lynchburg Road, East Rochester, reported at 3:46 a.m. Sunday he came home to find his girlfriend’s son had a party at his house and there was a car left on his property he wanted removed. Deputies explained he can have the vehicle towed.
– Curt Samlo, Parkview, Lisbon, reported at 2:48 a.m. Sunday there was a suspicious truck in the area of Parkview and Teegarden. An ATV was unloaded from the truck onto the roadway. Deputies checked the area, but did not locate anyone.
– Paula Barnhart, Bell Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:37 p.m. Sunday, William Styen had been living with her, but he had moved out. On Sunday they argued about money and he said he was going to get a gun. She did not want him to return to her property. Deputies spoke to Styen and told him her request.
– Linda Cassidy, Hartley Road, Alliance, reported at 4:56 p.m. Sunday the house is ready to be auctioned off this week and the auction listing stated there would be guns sold. Someone broke into the house, but all the operable firearms had been removed from the house for safekeeping. A 32-inch TV, ammo cans and a brief case containing receipts were taken. A window had been broken out of the back door.
– Patricia Chaffin, state Route 154, Negley, reported at 4:09 p.m. Sunday someone broke out a window to her 1985 Coachman RV and set fire in the back bedroom. The fire damage was minor. She asked deputies to keep an extra watch at her home due to ongoing problems with family.
– A New Waterford woman reported a horse and a donkey are living at a location on state Route 14 before the Snack N Tack in Unity Township. She was concerned the animals were being kept within a chain link fence standing in mud and feces.
– Darlene Kotas, state Route 558, New Waterford, reported at 5:23 p.m. Saturday someone stole a 9 mm Smith and Wesson Shield from her house.
– Larry Stokes was reportedly out of control at a Westville Lake Road, Beloit, residence at 5:05 p.m. Saturday. Stokes had been left at the home by his son and was not taking his medication. He was transported to a hospital.
– Fallan Marker, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 3:22 p.m. Saturday her landlord, Mike Copeland, shut off her power and water to her home. Copeland told deputies he has had problems with the electric box getting wet and had shut it off to fix the problem. Deputies did not find a problem at that time and Copeland turned the services back on.
– Richard Miller, Buck Road, Beloit, reported at 8:53 p.m. Thursday, threats were made with a gun. Cindy Masters told deputies her son, Jacob Carter, came home wanting his belongings and money. Carter allegedly started to hit her in the face and the arm, when his friend, Logan Stancato came, allegedly cocked a handgun and pointed it at her. Miller then shut the door in his face. Miller told deputies Carter is upset because Masters refused to give him $20 and he began to hit her in the doorway. Miller said he got between them and Stancato pointed a handgun at Masters, but left after Miller shut the door in his face. A neighbor, Jason Klans, reported he was grilling in the backyard, heard yelling and came around to trailer to see a man holding a handgun and getting into a tan sedan. Deputies went to speak with Stancato, who said he was there with Carter and he saw Carter come out of the front door, holding up his hands in defense as Masters was pulling his hair and hitting him. Stancato claimed he actually had a lighter in his hand, but used a technique he learned from the movie “Mall Cop” to make it appear he had a gun. He told Masters to calm down and they left. The matter was sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
– Allison Carter, Buck Road, Beloit, reported a domestic dispute at 11:27 p.m. Thursday. Carter claimed her mother, Cindy Masters, woke her up and told her to get her cat out of her room. Carter was half asleep and Masters pushed her to get her moving, but caused her trip and hit her face. She believed it was an accident.
– Rita Timmerman, Buck Road, Beloit, reported at 11:33 p.m. Friday someone was riding an ATV on the road and in yards, but deputies did not find anyone.
– Cynthia Burton, Chippewa Trail, Negley, reported a possible prowler near a garage at 12:32 a.m. Saturday. Deputies did not find anyone about.
– Brooke Brantingham, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 4:12 a.m. May 3, she heard noises coming from the area of the front porch. Deputies did not find anyone around and there were unbroken spider webs across the door.
– Nancy Stoffer, Rochester Road, Homeworth, reported at 7:52 p.m. Thursday her son’s former work partner, Jackie Jones, was fired from Paradise Lakes. He had been taken home twice, but continued to return and she wanted him removed. Deputies took Jones back to his son’s home on Mounts Road. His son told deputies his father came from Oklahoma to get sober, but had failed on several occasions and they also did not want him there because he has been causing problems. Deputies saw Jones taken to a bus station in Canton so he could return home.
Highway Patrol
– Gary Dwight Chick, 38, Canfield, was stopped at a red light facing west on U.S. 30 in Hanover Township at 4:40 p.m. Saturday and was struck from behind by Diane Reedy Marie, 56, New Philadelphia. Marie was cited for assured clear distance.
– Robert Lee Stotler, 73, Aliquippa, Pa., and Miroslav M. Simic, Chicago, were northwestbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 12:40 p.m. Saturday and Stotler slowed to turn left onto Waterford Road and was struck from behind by Simic. Simic was cited for assured clear distance.
– Laura V. Randolph, 83, Clarks Mill Road, Hammondsville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 11 am. Thursday and went off the right side into three road signs, then re-entered the road and went off the left side through a lawn and into a large rock and then overturned onto a parked car owned by Angela Criner, Carrollton. After impact, Criner’s car moved forward and struck Criner, who was standing next to the car. She was taken by ambulance to the SRMC with serious injuries while Randolph was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian with serious injuries. No citations have been issued as it appears Randolph was experiencing a medical issue at the time of the crash.
Columbiana
– Police assisted Leetonia with a traffic stop on State Street near Madison Street at 12:53 a.m. Sunday.
– Rebekah Perry, no address listed, reported at 3 p.m. Sunday people were using marijuana on Union Street. Police cited Christian Gillespie, 18, Columbiana, Logan Stilson, 19, Columbiana, and Alec Dingler, 18, Sherrodsville, for possession of marijuana.
– Someone anonymously reported at 7:18 p.m. Sunday kids were playing on the railroad tracks on Metz Road near the ballfield. Police checked and found no one on the tracks and also spoke with someone mowing there, who said they didn’t see anyone on the tracks either.
– A Rite Aid employee reported theft at 7:18 p.m. Sunday. No other details were available.
– Police attempted to find the owner of a dog running loose in the area of Pershing and Quincy streets at 8:45 p.m. Sunday. The owner could not be found and the dog ran away.
– A woman reported at 9 p.m. Sunday four kids, two on bicycles and two walking, were running across South Main Street in front of traffic. Police checked but did not see the children.
– Ryan Bevington, 39, Columbiana, was arrested on an active warrant through the county sheriff’s office at 11:35 p.m. Sunday at the police station.
East Palestine
– Steven M. Pinciaro, state Route 14, reported at 8:14 p.m. Sunday there was possible foul play at the grocery store at 368 N. Market St. and requested the store owner review the video tape of the transaction.
– Police charged Alan J. Madrid II, 21, Enon Valley, Pa., with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on East Taggart Street early Sunday morning. During the stop Raymond Crute III, address not listed, was cited for failure to dim headlights.
– Brianna Ross, 22, Commerce Street, was cited for driving under suspension and warned for no license plate following a traffic stop on West Main and Market streets at 12:33 a.m. Saturday.
– Bob Kotis, address not listed, reported at 12:44 a.m. Saturday a kid was walking through the alley on Alice Street and knocking over trash cans.
– A man reported at 9:22 a.m. Saturday there were pieces of glass on the streets around Leake Street. Police checked and found the very small pieces of glass appeared to have been ground into the pavement.
– The McDonald’s manager reported at 7:17 p.m. Saturday someone that went through the drive-through was harassing her employees and made threats that they would be back at closing time. Police said they would visit the restaurant at closing time.
– Candice L. Desanzo, 36, East Martin Street, was cited for driving under suspension, unsafe vehicle and no tail lights following a traffic stop on James Street at 9:58 p.m. Saturday.
– Gladdie Moore, Park Avenue, reported at 10:12 p.m. Saturday a man who is a resident of the American Health Center was walking down the middle of Park Avenue in the rain and she was concerned he would get hit by a car. Police found the man and escorted him home.
– Police checked on a car in the park at 11:37 p.m. Saturday and found that the battery had died and the car owner planned to have it removed from the park on Sunday.
– High grass zoning violation notices were sent to the following on Saturday: 806 N. Market St.; 280 W. Martin St.; 475 W. Martin St.; 493 W. Martin St.; 709 E. Main St.; 110 Alice St.; 57 N. Liberty St.; 152 W. Main St.; 540 Bacon Ave.; 560 Bacon Ave.; 265 South St.; 142 N. Sumner St.; 42 N. Liberty St.; 292 E. Highland Ave. and 48 McClure Ave.
East Liverpool
– Called to First Avenue for a family fighting in the middle of the street, officers arrived to find several people yelling at each other. Thomas J. Klink Jr., of that address, admitted throwing a hammer into the windshield of his sister’s car. Thomas J. Klink Sr., same address, told officers his daughter, Nicholle D. Klink, Chester Avenue, had knocked him to the ground and he grabbed her by the throat. They were both charged with domestic violence, and the younger Thomas Klink was charged with criminal damaging.
St. Clair Township
– Doug Blaner, Moore Road, reported he and his neighbor, Charles Bramel, have been having property disputes and when he went to place no trespassing signs along a fence line he found a 200-foot section of fence and poles ripped from the ground. Officers reported finding Bramel on a tractor, mowing his grass, and said tire tracks near the damaged fence matched his tractor’s. Bramel handed officers paperwork regarding fencing laws and said he was not giving a statement because they were already being hostile. He got back on his tractor and continued mowing, according to reports. Officers tried to get Bramel to complete a statement, but he refused. He was charged with criminal mischief and criminal damaging.
– Employees of Good Wheels, state Route 170, reported multiple vehicles damaged.
– Ashley Hill, 31, address not listed, reported she was driving on Echo Dell Road when someone in a silver Grand Am shot her vehicle with a paint ball.
– Douglas R. Manley, Grimm’s Bridge Road, reported having a problem with his neighbor over the property line. He was advised it was a civil matter.
– A woman at Echo Dell Trailer Park not identified in reports told officers all four of her vehicle tires were flat and she found slash marks on them. She said it is possible a family member did it, saying the person accused her boyfriend of stealing her drugs.
– Lori D. Pittenger, no address listed, reported a woman at Wood Forest Bank in Walmart threatened her, also saying she had a gun.
– Paul C. Blevins, Melbourne Avenue, reported a burglary at his home, with no other details reported.
Lisbon
-A janitor at the high school called at 7:27 p.m. Sunday to report there was a broken cafeteria window facing West High Street. Superintendent Joe Siefke and police searched the building and then drove around the school but there was no other damage.
-A caller reported someone was riding an ATV on East Lincoln Way at 5:37 p.m. Sunday. Police caught up with the rider, who said he was just testing out the SUV and would not be riding it.
-A shed at the Church of Nazarene was found broken into at 10 a.m. Saturday by Greg Rugado, who was there to mow. He said a number of items were missing.
– Don Wolf, who is in charge of the group home for male youths on East Washington Street, reported at 9:22 p.m. Friday that a female friend of a male resident Jake Terry had thrown a skateboard through a window. Police were unable to locate the girl, who is believed to be from East Rochester, Pa. Wolf said he would not pursue charges if she paid for the damage.
-Police received a call at 4:24 p.m. Friday that a man was threatening to jump from a bridge in town, so the officer went to the Canton Hill bridge but no one was there. Then he determined and the man was the at the bridge next to Pondi’s restaurant. The man said he no longer wanted to jump but wanted help. He had been thrown out of his mother’s home in East Liverpool and walked to Lisbon searching for his uncle only to discover his uncle had moved. The man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
POLICE
County Sheriff
– Jim Sturgeon, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, reported at 2:22 p.m. Sunday his daughter was in yard when a small black vehicle pulled into the driveway and the occupants – a white male and black male – started yelling and screaming at her and giving her the middle finger. Sturgeon said when he stepped outside the car sped away.
– Jeff Calhoun, state Route 45, Madison Township, reported Saturday some drove through his yard, leaving ruts and some garbage. He said it occurred overnight and his neighbors did not hear or see anything.
-Deputies were called to Highland Memorial Park in Beloit at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, where manager Deann Remenaric reported an Alliance woman had showed up and became upset when she was unable to locate her son’s grave, slamming the office door into the wall and damaging the plaster. Remenaric helped the woman find her son’s grave but she just wanted a report on file.
-Justine M. Cowatch, state Route 170, Rogers, reportedly struck the corner of Gorby’s Market in Negley at 1:56 p.m. Sunday while pulling into a parking space. Cowatch, who was believed to be having a medical episode at the time, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Highway Patrol
– Lt. Allan Young of the county sheriff’s department struck a deer while driving on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 5:50 p.m. Thursday. The 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe, which is used to transport the department’s canine deputy, was disabled and had to be towed from the scene. Neither Young or Jesy – the canine riding with him in the SUV -were injured.
Lisbon
– Kathryn K. Scarbino, 38, of Wattsburg, Pa., was cited for speeding -55 mph in 35 mph zone – on state Route 153 at Bluff Street at 1:08 p.m. Sunday.
-Clayton W. Elliott, 18, Torma Road, Lisbon, was cited for speeding – 50 mph in a 35 mph zone – on Route 154 at Bluff Street at 11:35 a.m. Sunday.
-Derrick V. Martin, 37, Aetna Street, Salem, was cited for speeding -40 mph in a 25 mph zone – on West Lincoln Way at 7:41 a.m. Sunday.
-Drake M. Walton, 23, of Sebring, was cited for speeding – 40 mph in a 25 mph zone -on West Lincoln Way at 7:38 a.m. Saturday.
-Gary T. Frampton, 53, Leslie Road, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after he struck a parked vehicle while driving on East Chestnut Street at 3:39 p.m. Saturday.

Columbiana
-A caller reported there was a dog locked in a vehicle with no windows down in the Dollar General parking lot at 10:48 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was gone by the time police arrived.
-Austin Bolen, 21, of New Waterford, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 46 at 11:52 a.m. Saturday.

-Valerie Dattilio, North Vine Street, reported Saturday someone dropped off keys and a note in her mail box, and Dattilio believes the person responsible was someone against whom she has a protection order.
-Shirley Donnalley of Salem was cited for failure to control after she struck a house while driving on West Salem Street at 5:34 p.m. Saturday.
– A caller reported hearing gunshots in the area of Royal Birkdale at 10:08 p.m. Saturday. Police checked the area and think the sound of thunder.
Salem
– Police responded to the 300 block of New Garden Avenue at 9:14 p.m. where the complainant advised her car muffler was stolen.
– At 7:40 p.m. Saturday police responded to the 900 block of South Union Avenue when a caller was concerned about an adult man operating a toy pocket bike with a 9-year-old child on the sidewalk. The rider was advised this was permissible on the sidewalk other than in downtown but not to ride halfway across town. He was advised to keep the bike around where he resides and it was recommended the passengers be equipped with a helmet.
– At 6:35 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1100 block of East 3rd Street where a parent advised a suspicious person was harassing others. Information was gathered and the complainant was advised to call the next time it occurs.
– Jennifer L. Seachrist, 575 W. 5th Street, Salem, was arrested for theft at 6:12 p.m. Saturday for stealing $216 in items from Walmart. She fled from the store and was found on Cunningham Road.
– A caller reported a motorist ran several stop signs on East Pershing Street Extension at 5:13 p.m. Saturday. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
– Police responded to the 500 block of East Pershing Street at 4:49 p.m. Saturday for a medical call for a person said to be falling asleep at the Fun Factory.
– Police responded to the Carbon Street and South Lincoln Avenue area at 3:25 p.m. Saturday to check on a possible sick raccoon but were unable to locate the animal.
-Constance Freeman, 1360 state Route 14, Salem, was cited for failure to yield and driving under suspension for pulling into the path of a vehicle driven by Robert Predergast, 18598 Courtney Road, Beloit, resulting in an accident on West State Street at 3:51 p.m. Friday. A passenger in Predergast’s vehicle, Carol Predergast, was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
– At 5:56 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 1000 block of North Ellsworth Avenue where the complainant advised the driver’s side window was broken out.
-At 4:56 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 100 block of West 4th Street where a person was making threats and found a durnken man bleeding from the face. First responders and an ambulance responded to assess the injuries, and man was placed in handcuffs for his own safety because he continued striking his head and face, which continued on the ambulance ride to the hospital.
-Police responded to the 200 block of West 14th Street at 4:27 p.m. Friday where the caller advised of a violation of a protective order. Police spoke to the other person who said she was there to pick up a child for a court-ordered visitation. Police obtained a copy of the order and explained it to the complainant.
– Police made a traffic stop in the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 8:19 p.m. Friday, resulting in Chad Pahanish, 5056 Whinnery Road, being charged with failure to reinstate his driver’s license, possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. Additional contraband was located.
-Police responded to the 1300 block of Jennings Avenue at 9:02 p.m. Friday for a report of a female juvenile walking in the area with no shoes and acting suspiciously. She was located and while police attempted to identify her she became combative and took off running. She was stopped but continued to fight with police. It turned out she was a runaway from the Village Network Home in Mahoning County. A person from that location responded and she was released to them.
-Police responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Drive at 10:24 p.m. Friday after a male pizza delivery driver said he was confronted by a man who was upset that he parked in the person’s space. He advised that the man got in front of his vehicle and tried getting in the locked driver’s side door, yelling obscenities and wanting to fight. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
– At 11:49 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 200 block of East 3rd Street for a possible breaking and entering sometime in the afternoon after someone broke the complainant’s front door.. The complainant said nothing appeared to be missing.
– Police responded to a barking dog complaint in the 800 block of Summit Street at 6:23 a.m. Saturday. The owner agreed to bring it inside.
– At 6:13 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Drive for a loud noise complaint. The resident said he fell asleep with the television on but agreed to turn it down.
-Police responded to the 200 block of East Third Street at 2:12 a.m. Saturday where a man advised his female roommate would not let him in. Another call from the female advised the male kicked a window in at the residence. An officer spoke with the female advising her he didn’t do anything wrong since he resided there. They were advised to stay away from each other for the night.
-At 1:09 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the U.S. Route 62 and Salem Country Club to assist Perry Township police with an alcohol-related traffic stop and with running a breath test on an OVI suspect.
-Police responded to the 1100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 2:34 p.m. Saturday where the complainant advised an unwanted family member refused to leave her residence. Police spoke to the person and she agreed to leave.
-Police responded to the 500 block of Columbia Street for a medical call where the person was having trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital.
-Police responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 3 p.m. Friday where a female caller was suicidal, confused and having emotional problems. She was taken to the hospital.
Salineville
-Police were called at 5:24 p.m. April 27 to a Jefferson Street home for damaged vehicles with cracked windshields.
-Police and first responders were called about 4 p.m. April 29 to an East Main Street residence regarding a toddler with a high fever. The mother attempted to get the baby’s temperature lowered upon officer’s arrival, and ultimately the toddler was taken to a local hospital.
– Police were called around 5 p.m. April 29 to a Mill Street residence regarding an unresponsive male, but police managed to wake him from a deep sleep. The squad was not cancelled because the man had a history of medical problems, but the man refused to go the hospital and get checked out.
-Police and Columbiana County Sheriff’s deputies went at 8:45 p.m. April 29 to a Monroeville Heights residence to serve a warrant. Officers made contact with Jessica Hill, the wife of the suspect, and saw drug paraphernalia and a suspicious white powder in plain view. Hill allowed officers to search the home for her husband who has an active warrant. Officers confiscated money, scales and drugs/paraphernalia, and took the items for evidence. Hill was taken into custody without incident with felony charges pending the results of a lab analysis of the suspected drugs.
– Dave Smith, Water Street, reported at 11:24 a.m. May 1 that a neighbor boy passed him walking on the road and asked if Smith liked porn or “young girls for sex”, to which Smith became angry and went home. Officers spoke to the boy who admitted to asking Smith about foot porn, but denied saying anything about a girl. The boy’s parent was notified, and he was advised never to speak to Smith again.
-While on patrol around 1:10 p.m. May 1, Samantha Crawford was cited for driving under suspension and with an expired registration following a traffic stop on East Main Street.

County Sheriff
– Michelle McCuean, state Route 344, Fairfield Township, reported Friday Lynette Reynolds told her she and Connie Datilio were going to come to the house to retrieve some of Datilio’s belongings, and McCuean was worried there was going to be a confrontation.
-Raymond Tohm, Mattix Road, Lisbon, reported Friday he noticed both license plates were missing from his 1970 one-ton dump truck.
Lisbon
– Amy Beery, Rose Drive apartments, reported Friday her phone may have fallen from her purse while at the county Department of Job and Family Services, but no one there said a phone had been returned. Beery then called her phone and someone pick up before hanging up quickly. She was told to check if the JFS had security cameras that had could be reviewed to determine if someone picked up her phone.
-A woman who lives on North Market Street reported her 17-year-old son had run away at 9:36 a.m. Friday.
-A caller from Apple Grove apartments reported there was an unwanted man in the bedroom at 9 p.m. Thursday. Police arrived but man was not there.
-Village parks manager Dana Blackburn reported Thursday the inside wall of the park pavilion on Cedar Street was covered in mud, the light bulbs were broken out of the sockets, the electric lines were pulled from the ceiling, and stones were strewn about the tables and pads. Police discussed the matter with a juvenile reported playing in the pavilion, and Blackburn will speak to the boy’s father.
-While parked at the car wash on North Market Street at 12:43 a.m. Thursday, police were approached by two people who said a man was walking by the Valley View convenience store and he appeared to be intoxicated and was yelling obscenities and threatening to them. Police located Eli J. Ruffner, 34, Union Ridge Road, Negley, and charged him with disorderly conduct/public intoxication.
-A vehicle driven by Kathy Spooner, Prichard Avenue struck a vehicle belonging to Arden Montgomery, Kingsridge Road, East Liverpool, in the Valley View parking lot at 12:36 p.m. Wednesday.
– A school bus driver asked police to check on the welfare of a Saltwell Road resident at 4:52 p.m. Wednesday after a 7-year-old child was going to be dropped off but no one appeared to be home. By the time police arrived, the child’s grandmother was there and said she found the father sleeping inside. The father told police the mother was supposed to be there.
East Palestine
-A caller reported there were two men lurking about at 155 Garfield Ave. at 3:51 p.m. Thursday. Police saw two men acting suspicious near the garage and found Brian Buckley and William Tondo in the garage. They claimed to be trying to get out of the rain and were warned about not entering private property without consent.
-A West Taggart Street resident came to the police station with a possible child custody issue.
-A resident of Hillside Drive called police on Friday about the Crestview school bus as it relates to possible parking problems at Leslie Run Estates, along with trash being left by people.
-George Libert, East Martin Street, reported Friday receiving a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS and that they were going to call local police to have him arrested.
-Ryan Williams, 36, of New Castle, Pa., was cited for speeding on Bacon Avenue at 8:07 a.m. Friday.
-Police responded to a disturbance at 460 E. North Ave. at 11:14 p.m. Wednesday and found Stepanie C. Gackenbach, 49, had been severely injured and the man involved had left the scene. The investigation is continuing.
– Gordon Clifford, East Main Street, reported Tuesday being harassed by someone who knocks on his door just to get his dogs to bark.
– Travis Dowd, Rauch Road, reportedly struck a vehicle in the rear driven by Patricia Alan at the intersection of Market Street and North Avenue at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
-Cheryl Davis, East Street, reported Tuesday her CSI trash container was stolen.
-Carl Buhn Jr., East Main Street, reported Wednesday receiving a scam letter saying he had won $250,000.
-Glenn M. Mussey, Kenmar Drive, reportedly backed into a vehicle belonging to Terry J. Hoffman, state Route 14, in the Sparkle supermarket parking lot at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday.
-Haley R. Huff, 18, Hamilton Road, was cited for speeding on West Martin Street at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday.
-A caller reported there were two golf carts being driven on Wood Street and the back alley at 7 p.m. Thursday. Police arrived and spoke with the youths’ father, Jerrold L. Gurney, and told him the next time he will be cited and the golf carts will be towed away.
-An employee at American Health Care reported there appeared to be an intoxicated man walking on the side of the road on West Main Street at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday. Police knew the person and said he was on his way home.
Columbiana
-Briann Stein, state Route 14, reported at noon Thursday some people were cutting up a tree they had taken down in their yard and were taking the wood without permission. Police advised this is a civil dispute.
-Police were called to the Sunoco station at 5:26 p.m. Thursday to supervise a child custody exchange because there had been problems before, but there were no problems this time.
– Police responded to a domestic dispute on Fairfield Avenue at 9:46 p.m., where Terry Kitchen and Sam Fleeson were reportedly fighting in the street over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that Kitchen made and threw away. Kitchen left for the night, but Fleeson called at 6 a.m. Friday to say he believes Kitchen was trying to break into the house after he heard a loud noise. Jenny Fleeson then called at 10:09 a.m. Friday to say Kitchen, who is her son, was coming to gather his belongings, so police stood by until he was finished.
-Delores Thompson of Masury called police Friday about filing fraud/theft charges over expensive jewelry she had taken to Kimpel’s for consignment.
-Margaret I. Stett of Hubbard called police Friday about fraud and theft over jewelry she had taken to Kimpel’s for consignment.
-Bryce Turney of Leetonia was stopped in traffic on state Route 14 at 2:38 p.m. Friday when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Grant McCauley of Youngstown. McCauley was behind Turney and ended up sideswiping Turney to avoid striking his vehicle in the rear.

County Sheriff
– Dennis Dotson, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 1:12 a.m. Friday there was a domestic dispute and Renee Snyder broke his glasses. Snyder claimed Dotson slapped her in the head and his glasses were broken while she was defending herself. She left for the evening and decided not to prosecute.
– Matt Doershcuck, Freeman Road, Lisbon, reported a prowler at 3:17 a.m. Friday. His wife went to the garage to feed the chickens and saw someone in the backyard, who ran off into the woods. Deputies checked the area, but did not see anyone.
– Aaran Smith, Winona Road, Salem, reported at 5:13 p.m. Thursday her ex-husband’s girlfriend called her and threatened to kill her and take her children. Smith’s 11-year-old daughter reportedly heard the threat and was worried about it.
– John Swanson, Churchill Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:25 p.m. Thursday his 15-year-old daughter was talking to a man, who is 18, and who has been told to leave his daughter alone in the past. Swanson said when he talked to the man on the phone, he claimed not to be the same man.
– Billie Cain, Cunningham Road, Salem, reported at 5:35 p.m. Thursday she purchased a muffler, an exhaust repair kit and a muffler clamp on April 8 and placed them in the back of her 2004 Jeep Liberty. Her daughters took the vehicle to their father’s so he could fix it, but he took the parts without making the repairs. Deputies contacted Wade Cain, who agreed to return the parts that night.
Highway Patrol
– Laurie J. Ronshak, 50, Elkton-West Point Road, Lisbon, and Jonathan T. McDaniel, 28, Bradshaw Avenue, East Liverpool, were both northbound on Steubenville Pike in Wayne Township at 3:11 p.m. Thursday when McDaniel struck Ronshak while he was attempting to make a left turn. The driver’s statements were conflicting and no citation was issued concerning the turn. McDaniel was cited with driving under a non-compliance suspension.
– Dennis R. Roberts, 35, Black Road, Lisbon, was southbound on Depot Road in Center Township at noon Thursday when he struck a deer.
– Donald E. White, 59, state Route 164, Salineville, was southbound on state Route 164 in Wayne Township at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday when he drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole and guy wire. White claimed he fell asleep while driving home. He was cited with failure to control and expired license. He walked home following the crash.
– James S. Buckley, 59, Manor Lane, East Liverpool, was westbound on U.S. Route 30 in Madison Township at 7 a.m. Tuesday when he struck and killed a deer.
– Timothy D. Crowl, 27, Morris Avenue, Salem, was westbound on state Route 344 in Salem Township at 6:40 a.m. April 30, when he reportedly fell asleep. He went off the left side of the road, striking a traffic sign. He then left and later filed a crash report. Crowl was cited with failure to control.
– Kristie M. Jackson, 41, Butcher Road, Salem, and Stormy G. Emge, 49, Danbury Drive, Salem, were eastbound on U.S. Route 62 in Butler Township at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday when Emge stopped in the roadway waiting to make a left turn on state Route 534. Jackson, who was traveling behind Emge struck her from behind. Jackson was cited with assured clear distance.
– Thomas Kliem, 72, New Middletown, was westbound in a semi truck on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday when he attempted to turn into a driveway, but turned too early striking a ditch and overturning.
– Samuel Baumgarner, 40, Y&O Road, Wellsville, was cited with failure to yield turning left and OVI first offense after he was traveling southwest on Y&O Road in Madison Township at 3 p.m. Monday and attempted to make a left turn onto Hammond School Road into the path of Darcie M. Zellers, 19, Lones Road, Lisbon. Baumgarner and an 8-year-old passenger in Zellers’ vehicle were each transported to East Liverpool City Hospital with minor injuries.
– Linda L. Jones, 68, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, was westbound on state Route 644 in Hanover Township at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when she struck a deer.
– Michael S. Burich, 38, Struthers, was northbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday when he struck a deer.
– Elizabeth A. Deniro, 46, Black Road, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 3:30 p.m. April 29 while another vehicle was westbound on state Route 558. The other vehicle pulled into Deniro’s path causing her to travel off the right side of the roadway striking both the ditch and the enbankment. The other vehicle failed to stop.
– Lloyd P. Wilson, 43, Senior Street, Washingtonville, was westbound on Butcher Road at 6:10 a.m. Monday when he met an eastbound vehicle driven by Cody W. Farnsworth, 28, Cedar Ridge Road, Salem, on a one-lane bridge. Farnsworth was unable to stop due to a mechanical problem and the two collided on the bridge. Both were taken to Salem Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Farnsworth was cited with unsafe vehicle.
– Robert L. Herold, 85, Knox School Road, Alliance, was southbound on a tractor on state Route 9 in Hanover Township at 10:45 a.m. Monday when Theresa M. Burnside, 43, Berry Road NE, Kensington, attempted to pass him. Herold was making a turn onto Schneider Road and struck Burnside, whose vehicle went off the east side of the road, overturned and struck an embankment. Herold continued on.
– Brandon L. Hersberger, 24, Apple Creek, was northbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 9:28 a.m. Friday when he drove off the right edge of the roadway, struck a mailbox, a culvert pipe and a parked vehicle owned by Donald Jones, state Route 164, Lisbon. Following the impact, Jones’ vehicle was pushed into another of his vehicles. Hershberger was transported by KLG to Aultman Hospital with minor injuries.
Salem
– Police responded to the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue at 11:23 a.m. Friday where an emotionally distressed woman was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
– At 9:53 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 600 block of Ohio Avenue where the complainant’s vehicle was entered and eight dollars and change, one prescription with 80 pills and other non-prescription bottle were taken. The complainant advised he may have accidentally unlocked his vehicle.
– At 11:04 a.m. Friday, a wallet was found in the 1800 block of Monroe Street and brought to the station and the owner was located and said he would retrieve it.
– A drivers license was found in the McDonald’s parking lot and dropped off at the police station at 12:15 p.m. Friday. Police were unable to contact the owner by phone and it was placed in the lost and found room.
– At 2:44 a.m. Friday, police made a traffic stop in the 100 block of West Pershing Street and charged Chad D. Raymond, 110 W. Pershing St., with OVI and a marked lane violation.
– Police responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and Fourth Street at 9:17 p.m. Thursday for a fight. Police located two people who said they were horsing around.
– At 4:43 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of Franklin Avenue for a report of criminal trespassing and checked the area and no one was located.
POLICE
County Sheriff
– An East Palestine dispatcher reported suspicious people on Waterford Road near Hisey Road at 1:26 a.m. Thursday. They were found by a New Waterford patrolman. The four were identified as Morgan Cline, George Feezle III, Christopher Killen and Brittany Cox and claimed they were walking to Feezle’s Junkyard to check on a friend. They were given a ride back to their homes in New Waterford.
– Leslie Warner, Jersey Ridge Road, Salem, reported at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday she was selling items online and a man said he was interested in purchasing a piece of old furniture. The check appeared odd to her because it came from a company from New York. She contacted the company, who said the man did not work for them and the check was fake. The company also told her the same thing happened a few months back. She did not try to deposit the check and decided to mail the check to the company. She had not mailed out the furniture item either.
– James Middleton, West Fourth Street, Salem, reported at 1:38 p.m. Tuesday he allowed someone he knows to use his Ford Fusion on Monday and then they had a disagreement. She told him she left the vehicle at the Dairy Queen in Salem early in the morning. However, when he went there, the vehicle was gone. He told Perry Township police he last saw his vehicle at Barnett’s Motel. While deputies were speaking with Middlton about filing a stolen vehicle report Middleton received information from his GPS provider showing the vehicle parked in a field off Woodsdale Avenue near Burtview. Deputies checked the area and found it stuck in the mud. The vehicle’s key was missing.
East Liverpool
– Melanie J. Dillard, Wilbert Avenue, reported someone gained entry to her apartment and took items from a safe, damaging a sliding glass door with a cup in the process.
Columbiana
– A woman reported at 11:13 a.m. Wednesday there was a dog in a truck in the Dollar General parking lot that was parking for 15 minutes and the windows of the vehicle were up. Police checked on the vehicle, but it was leaving the parking lot by the time they arrived.
– Christopher Barnes, 28, Youngstown, was cited for driving under suspension following a traffic stop on state Route 7 near state Route 14.
– At 6:39 p.m. Wednesday a man dropped off a dog he found running loose in the area of Lisbon and West streets. Police warned the dog’s owner, Brian Weaver, for dog running at large.
– Carmen Stilson, 42, Columbiana was cited for driving under suspension and arrested on a warrant through the county sheriff’s office following a traffic stop on state Route 46 at 6:52 p.m. Wednesday.
Leetonia
– An officer responded to a domestic dispute at a Main Street home after one of the residents of the home reported the issue at 11:33 p.m. April 25.
– An officer responded to the 200 block of High Street at 3:45 p.m. April 26 where someone reported juveniles climbing on cement catch basins stacked approximately 18 feet high. The complainant said he told them to stop, but they ran away. The officer spoke with the juveniles and their parents and warned them against their actions.
– A Chestnut Street homeowner reported at 7:27 p.m. April 26 finding two windows broken after the tenants moved out.
– A Columbia Street woman reported at 6:19 p.m. April 27 that a man she knows has been threatening people at her residence and threw a brick at her grandmother’s vehicle, damaging it.
– A Main Street couple reported at 4 p.m. April 28 that their 15-year-old son had runaway. The son was later found with another male juvenile at a home on Wood Alley in Washingtonville where someone reported vandalism. The teen was found in possession of a knife and marijuana. Charges were to follow.
– An Oak Street couple reported at 6:14 p.m. April 28 that their daughter was being harassed via Facebook and text by a 19-year-old female regarding personal relationships.
– An officer responded with emergency medical personnel to a Ridge Street home at 12:30 a.m. April 30 in reference to a man with a medical issue. The man was transported to a hospital for evaluation.
Goshen Police District
– An officer responded to an alarm drop in the 9000 block of Knauf Road at 2 a.m. April 25 where the homeowner confirmed all was okay.
– An officer responded to a medical call at an Oakwood Drive, Beloit, home at 11:47 a.m. April 25.
– A 15000 block state Route 165 resident filed a notice of restriction against her sister at 12:20 p.m. April 25.
– An officer responded to an Oak Street, Beloit, home at 1:25 p.m. April 25 for a welfare check, finding everything okay.
– An officer responded to a South Main Street, Beloit, home at 7:51 p.m. April 25 in reference to someone walking in and out of the home who was not supposed to be there.
– An officer responded to the former Ponderosa Park area at 8:17 a.m. April 26 in reference to a suspicious vehicle and found that the driver had been on his way to school when the front left tire ruptured.
– An officer responded to the area of state Route 165 and Seacrist Road at 8:28 a.m. April 26 in reference to a disabled vehicle and found that the vehicle had been crashed into the ditch. The driver, Natalie C. Preas, 40, Alliance, was cited for failure to control and driving under suspension.
– An officer responded to the 18000 block of Fifth Street, Beloit, at 11:06 a.m. April 26 in reference to two dogs roaming the area. A resident showed the officer which house they belonged at and the officer was able to secure the dogs there after getting no answer at the door.
– An officer responded to a 7000 block Garfield Road home at 12:30 p.m. April 26 where the resident reported someone had obtained his personal identifying information and was opening credit cards in his name.
– An officer responded to a Country Club Lane home at 8:13 p.m. April 26 to address a child custody issue.
– An officer responded to the Colonial Motel east of Damascus at 11:51 a.m. April 27 to assist Damascus first responders on a drug overdose. While on scene, the officer recovered drug matter.
– Codee Jacob Vanpelt, 22, Salem, was cited for right of way at stop signs following a two-vehicle crash in Green Township at 7:20 a.m. April 28 in which he was northbound on Lisbon Road and attempted to make a left turn onto state Route 165, pulling into the path of an eastbound vehicle driven by Charles L. Bostwick, 66, Salem. No injuries were reported.
– An officer responded to a 11000 block Middletown Road home at 6:52 p.m. April 28 in reference to a vehicle being towed off the property and found it to be a civil matter.

– An officer responded to the area of state routes 165 and 534 at 8:32 p.m. April 29 to assist Smith Township police locate an individual for a welfare check.

– An officer responded to a report of an uncooperative man at an Apple Blossom Drive home at 7:17 a.m. May 1, but found everything to be okay.
Salem
– A complainant was on station at at 10:49 a.m. Thursday advising she received harassing text messages at work from a man she didn’t know who wanted to become friends with her. An officer called the number and left a message for the man to call back but he didn’t. The complainant was advised to block the number from her phone.
– At 12:09 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the area of Cedar Drive for a vehicle that was operating in a reckless manner, but were unable to locate it.
– At 12:21 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 200 block of East Sixth Street for a suspicious vehicle that was occupied and parked for nearly two hours. An officer spoke with a man in the driver’s seat and advised him of the complaint and he said they were just talking.
– At 12:40 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1200 block of Cedar Ridge Drive where the complainant said she had a temporary protection order against her ex-boyfriend who was threatening to meet her at her residence when she got home. Police checked the area and were unable to locate him and the complainant provided a copy of the TPO.
– Police responded to to the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 4:15 a.m. Thursday for an assault report and arrested Jeffrey A. Mullins Jr., 840 W. Pershing St., #1, for obstructing official business. Upon arrival, police observed a man walk out the front door at Vine Avenue. He was detained to assure he wasn’t involved in the reported assault. He wasn’t involved but he refused multiple requests to identify himself and was arrested for obstructing official business. The complainant advised he was not the assailant and a second man threw a beer can at him striking him in the head. The complainant reported injury to his toe and first responders and an ambulance arrived and he was transported to the hospital. Police attempted to contact the second man at an apartment in the 200 block of Vine Avenue but were unable to. Mullins was transported to the county jail and additional charges are pending.
– Police responded to the 200 block of East Third Street at 6:43 a.m. Thursday where an abandoned vehicle without a registration and a flat tire was issued a junk vehicle notice to be towed if a registration was not displayed.
– At 11:17 p.m. Wednesday, police took Gary A. White, 348 W. 4th St., into custody in the 500 block of Walnut Street after police affirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Columbiana County. He was taken to the county jail.
– Police responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday where the complainant advised children were trespassing in the backyard. The complainant was concerned they might get hurt climbing a tree. An officer spoke with the children and a parent who said she told them to stay out of the yard.
– At 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street where a man purchased a 40-inch television set and tried to leave with a 55-inch television. He said he was picking it up for his brother when confronted by management. Management had him wait to confirm his story. The incident is under investigation.
– At 4:09 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to West Wilson Street for a report of pills on the ground and located approximately 42 capsules of medication scattered on the ground at an intersection. The pills were collected and discarded at the police station.
– Police responded to the 100 block of North Madison Avenue at 3:03 a.m. Wednesday where a woman heard someone try to enter her residence. The suspect was gone when police arrived. The complainant said she didn’t see anyone and an officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone. The complainant was advised to keep the doors locked.
Police responded to the 200 block of West Fourth Street at 2:02 a.m. Wednesday and found a man sitting on the front porch waiting for a ride. The complainant said he was yelling obscenities on his cell phone while outside. A neighbor complained and wanted the complainant wanted him off her property and to not return. The man was picked up by a family member and advised not to return.
– Police responded to the 2200 block of East State Street at 10:26 p.m. Friday where the complainant advised a cement-filled parking barrier from the lot was removed and an attempt was made to remove a second one. The cost was unknown and the complainant was advised of the options.
– Police responded to the 900 block of Liberty Street at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a verbal dispute. Residents turned out the lights, television and didn’t answer the door after police knocked on it several times.
– At 7:33 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 2800 block of East State Street and charged Michelle D. McCarthy, 79305 Freeport, Tippecanoe Road, Tippecanoe, for attempting to walk from the store without paying for merchandise. She was taken to the county jail.
– At 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 400 block of Aetna Street for a man knocking on the complainant’s door. Due to a prior incident involving an alleged assault officers had instructed to complainant to call police if anyone showed up. An officer spoke with a person who left the complainant’s residence and advised that all involved in the incident were under investigation regarding the alleged assault reported at 6:20 p.m.
– Police responded to the 800 block of East Sixth Street at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday where the complainant’s son was unruly and spoke to the juvenile and the complainant. They were advised to stay away from each other until they calmed down.
Perry Township
– Police responded to the 1600 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:32 p.m. Tuesday for a report of suspicious persons in the area and were unable to find anyone after a check.
– At 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1300 block of Benton Road for a theft report. The complainant advised that he believes his son stole his televisions and a generator from the residence and wanted to make a report and was advised of the eviction process.
– Police responded to the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 2:06 p.m. Tuesday for a report of people yelling at each other. Both parties were arguing over keys and a battery for a car. Police spoke to both and explained the consequences if police had to be called back.
– At 11:44 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 1300 block of West State Street after learning a woman with an outstanding warrant from Columbiana County was residing there. Tiffany N. Hoover, 1358 W. State St., was arrested for failure to appear on a charge of unauthorized use of property and was transferred to sheriff deputies.

County Sheriff
– Justin Messenger, an employee at West Point Truck Center, reported a prowler at 2:59 a.m. Wednesday. About 20 minutes before deputies arrived, Messenger said he saw a man on the property. Deputies checked the area, but did not locate anyone.
– Deborah Watson, Buck Road, Beloit, reported at 2:24 p.m. Tuesday she was in the process of moving her belongings into a U-haul truck when her landlord’s son came across the drive and took three wooden kitchen chairs from the truck. Deputies spoke to the landlord, Cindy Masters, who at first said the chairs belonged to her mother and should stay in the house, but then decided it was a “petty thing” and agreed to let Watson take the chairs. Masters indicated she will make a list of anything missing from the house after Watson moves out and may pursue it in small claims court. A deputy waited another few minutes until the truck was loaded and Watson gave the deputy the key to give to Masters’ daughter.
– Randy Stitch, West Pidgeon Road, Salem, reported at 8:26 p.m. Tuesday his girlfriend was lost in the wildlife area around Zeppernick Lake. A deputy responded and met with a park ranger. Members of the North Georgetown Fire Department found the lost girlfriend, Chelsey Hostetter, walking along Rochester Road.
– Elizabeth Maendel, U.S. Route 62, Homeworth, reported at 4:41 p.m. Tuesday there was a raccoon around her home and it bit her child. She wanted someone to find the raccoon, but was uncertain where it went. It was determined the family would put out a live trap and try to catch the raccoon.
– Joey-Lynn Corfee, Rose Drive, Lisbon, reported at 4:26 p.m. Tuesday another vehicle struck hers while she was parked in the lot at Roseland Commons, damaging the rear passenger side door of her vehicle.
Lisbon
– EMTs requested police respond to a possible drug overdose on Thomas Road at 8:39 a.m. Friday. EMTs told police that Jeremy R. Hulick, 40, had overdosed on heroin but was now awake and his family wanted the house searched for any drugs. An EMT found a hypodermic needle still containing some liquid and turned it over to police. Hulick was charged with possessing a drug abuse instrument.
East Liverpool
– Mercedes L. Jones, no address listed, reported a person known to her misused her credit card, making several purchases.
– Erin Porter, Vine Street, called to say she was going to use a Taser on a man she knows who assaulted her. Officers went to her home and advised her to contact the law director about filing charges.
– Laura Shreves, no address listed, reported her sister forged her name at a local bank to remove $240 from her account.
– Norma J. Linville, Wilbert Avenue, reported a person possibly known to her scratched a derogatory name into her vehicle.
– An object was reported thrown at the door of a unit on Columbiana-Metropolitan Housing Authority property on Wilbert Avenue, breaking a window.
– The neighborhood basketball hoop and backboard on Harker Avenue was reported stolen.
– While carrying groceries into the house, Crystal L. Brazee, First Avenue, placed her wallet I between a pair of jeans on her porch and then found it missing. Two people in the residence at the time denied taking the wallet.
– Responding to a report of a possible assault on Burford Street, officers spoke with Ashley Thrasher, who said her child’s father, James Dyke was there to exchange the child and if she opened the door, she believed he would assault her. Dyke told officers a school principal was at the house, trying to get Thrasher to come to the door to speak with her but left when Thrasher failed to respond. When she also wouldn’t answer his knocks on the door, Dyke opened a window and placed the child inside to find her. Thrasher told officers she was in the shower and heard none of this and complained that Dyke broke her window by forcing it. She was told to contact the law director if she wanted to file charges. The child was exchanged between the pair without incident.
– Patricia Willis, Wilbert Avenue, reported a bicycle was inside her home but she could not enter due to a broken lock. The juvenile owner said he wanted the bike, and when she returned home, Willis found the window open, curtains broken and the bike missing. She told police she wanted burglary charges filed against the juvenile.
East Palestine
– William Grubbs, Kensington, reported at 5:41 p.m. Sunday that Krista Sapp of Hilliard, a former employee of his, is no longer welcome at his business on Park Drive. Sapp told police that Grubbs took her things without her permission and wished to file charges against him. Police briefed Sapp on the laws.
– Vernon Elwonger, no address listed, reported at 9 p.m. Monday someone took a wedding ring, Shriner’s ring and watch from his father who is a resident at Covington Nursing Home.
– James McGinnis, Park Avenue, reported at 10 a.m. Sunday he was having problems with his wife and daughter.
– Police conducted a traffic stop on East North Avenue at 10 p.m. Sunday on suspicious of drug activity. The K9 unit indicated drugs on the passenger side front door and police found “shake” and rolling papers inside the vehicle. Trent Kunselman was cited for lighted lights required and released.
– Rhonda Narehood, Alice Street, reported at 1:34 p.m. Monday a woman she knows was at her home and took some of her clothes and has been wearing them.
– An Educational Services employee reported at 4 p.m. Monday a student was pounding on the windows and refusing to sit down in a van in the parking lot.
Columbiana
– Cathi Carney, Parkview Drive, reported at 2:56 p.m. Tuesday their vehicles were egged during the night.
Wellsville
– Billy Bess reported at 5 p.m. Monday that while he was at the Rite Aid on Third Street, someone hit the rear driver’s side of his 2015 Jeep. An officer spoke to a man who witnessed either a Chevrolet Blazer or a GMC Jimmy hit the Jeep and then travel north on Lisbon Street. A partial plate number was retrieved but nothing turned up on file.
Salem
– Police responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 1:57 p.m. Wednesday at the request of the fire department for a medical incident when a woman advised she took a handful of unknown pills because her dispenser jammed. She was transported to the hospital.
– At 3:26 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to the East State Street and Cunningham Road intersection after an anonymous call for endangered children and followed the vehicle to the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue. No violations were observed and the driver said the children were jumping around when the vehicle was in the parking lot but were seated when it was moving.
– At 3:35 p.m. Wednesday, police received a report of a drive-off from the station in the 900 block of East State Street where an older man drove off without paying for $31.62 in gas heading west on East State Street.
– At 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 500 block of East Fourth Street where the complainant advised that approximately a week ago she found a prescription missing and adult services advised her to file police report so he doctor would write a new prescription.
– At 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 300 block of West Eighth Street for a dog on the loose and found several people attempting to catch a dog that got out by accident.
– At 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 400 block of East School Street where the complainant’s ex-boyfriend was harassing her over her daughter and visiting her. The problem was now in Alliance since the complainant lives there and the ex-boyfriend lives in Atwater. They were advised to get the proper paper work.
– At 7:54 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1500 block of Merle Road where a northbound vehicle apparently struck and killed a cat. The complainant was advised the humane officer was on the way.
– At 8:11 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 1100 block of North Ellsworth Avenue where the complainant was having a problem with her juvenile son threatening her 7-year-old son. The juvenile was in school and the complainant called his diversion officer who advised that she call the police.
– At 8:21 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to the 2300 block of Kennedy Drive after a hit-skip accident in Perry Township. An officer located the truck in question with fresh damage to the rear and spoke to the resident/alleged driver who admitted to driving but also appeared to be under the influence and reluctant to cooperate with the investigation. A Perry Township officer had the vehicle towed pending the investigation after communicating with the county prosecutor’s office.
– Police responded to the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 7:38 a.m. Wednesday where the complainant said that while leaving work he was threatened by a co-worker with physical harm. There was no physical violence and an incident report was taken.
– Police responded to Salem Acres in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 4:33 p.m. Tuesday where a woman resident advised a male resident took a cell phone charger from her. Police explained it was a civil matter.

County Sheriff
– While driving on state Route 14 near State Line Road, Brenda Morales reported a man sitting in the field at 8:19 p.m. Monday. Deputies checked the area, but did not locate anyone.
– Richard Brown, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, reported at 7:37 p.m. Monday there was a problem with his ex-girlfriend getting her property out of a camper trailer he did not own. The camper’s owner, Harry Anderson, wanted his camper returned to his property in Unity on Tuesday. Anderson asked Tina Grimwood to get the rest of her property out before he towed it to Anderson’s property, but Grimwood was reportedly making a big fuss over removing her belongings. Brown said he would leave with friends for the evening so Grimwood could get the belongings. Grimwood claimed she was struck by Brown while they were driving in the middle of Lisbon and she was told to report it to Lisbon police.
– Debra Watson, Buck Road, Beloit, reported at 3:24 p.m. Monday someone entered her house and took items. At 4 p.m. Sunday her landlord, Cynthia Masters, reportedly gave her 24 hours notice she was coming to the house. Watson was there before 4 p.m. Monday and found someone had gone through all of her belongings, removed an antique hutch, apple cookie jars, tools and hoodies from her home. Masters told deputies she spoke to Watson, who had told her she was moving out on Tuesday. Masters said she was not at the house that day and intended to wait until Wednesday to clean the house.
– Kathy Shasteen, Harvard Avenue, East LIverpool, reported a property dispute on Dutchtown School Road at 12:52 p.m. Saturday. Deputies assisted Shasteen in speaking to adjoining property owners of her property about them selling the property and some issues she had with neighbors in the past.
– Chris Wilke, Ansley Street, Alliance, reported at 4:43 a.m. Sunday someone stole his iPhone from his workplace at the Duke and Duchess in Alliance. His phone notified him it was in the park area at Guilford Lake. Deputies told him to call if he has an address and they would assist him in getting it back, but he may just find it laying in the grass or woods at the lake.
– A possibly suicidal man was reported at the Frola Motel, state Route 45, Lisbon, at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Deputies spoke to a man, who was highly upset about a recent death in his family and said he wanted to end it all. He took some pills. He was transported to a hospital for an evaluation.
Highway Patrol
– Christina R. Masters, 38, Freeman Road, Lisbon, was southbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 3:10 p.m. Thursday and struck Courtney L. Logan, 33, Pleasant View Drive, Lisbon, from behind. Logan then struck the vehicle in front of her, which continued on. Masters was cited for assured clear distance.
– Andrew J. Watson, 29, Foster Drive, Louisville, was westbound Georgetown Road in Knox Township at 4:15 p.m. Saturday and struck a bridge. He was cited for assured clear distance.
Columbiana
– City police reported at 10:40 a.m. Monday finding vandalism in Firestone Park over the weekend.
– Lyndsay Blakeman, North Lima, reported a school incident at South Side Middle School at 1 p.m. Monday. The incident is being handled by the school and no further information was provided.
– Stephanie Vogel, North Main Street, reported telephone harassment at 12:48 p.m. Monday.
– Jeff Arsuffi, owner of J&J Car Wash, reported at 4:28 p.m. Monday he saw a man in a dark blue car steal a saw out of the yard of the business.
Lisbon
– Rick Eells, East Washington Street, reported Friday two lawnmowers were stolen from his property.
– Police were called to the community swimming pool at 10:14 p.m. Friday about a group of youths congregated in the picnic area. Police arrived and came across four youths riding away on bicycles and they said they had been sitting around the picnic area talking. There was no evidence of suspicious activity, so police left.
– Police assisted the sheriff’s office in responding to the Frola Motel in regard to a suicidal man at 2:44 p.m. Saturday. The man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
– A caller reported rocks were being fired into traffic by someone mowing the lawn on East Lincoln Way on the east side of town at 3:35 p.m. Saturday. The mower told police she purposely waits until traffic passes before she cuts the section near the street.
– Amy Mushweck, Apple Grove apartments, called at 8:48 p.m. Sunday because Terry Mullins showed up even though the person has been told to stay away by the resident manager. Mullins told police he was there to retrieve his credit card and she was upset he was taking it back. Mushweck did confirm that is why Mullins was there. Police told the parties to have no further contact with each other.
East Liverpool
– Britney Gamble, Ambrose Avenue, and Chelsea Lacey, no address listed, each reported receiving threatening messages from the same person.
– Tessa Wellington, Vine Street, reported having a disagreement with her boyfriend and his mother. Officers stood by while they left Wellington’s home.
St. Clair Township
– A woman walked into the North Star Critical Care ambulance garage and reported witnessing a suicide, saying a woman was lying in the middle of state Route 267. Officers arrived to find the woman walking south, smelling of alcohol and saying she wanted to die and be left alone. Her mother and grandmother arrived and told officers this was not the first time this had happened. The woman was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital by North Star.
– Shawn Muscari, Keil Street, reported his 40-foot camper struck with a pellet.
– A former Beaver Local High School student who hasn’t attended classes there since December refuses to return a school-issued iPad, according to assistant Principal Jordan Williams. The iPad was reportedly sold to a Salem company by the former student, who Williams said cannot be reached.
– While northbound on state Route 11, Andrew M. Martinez, 19, LaGrange, said the front wheel locked up on his vehicle. The vehicle struck the median wall, then a guardrail. He was taken to East Liverpool City Hospital.
– Reagan N. Leake, 19, West North Avenue, East Palestine, was southbound on state Route 170 when she lost control of her vehicle on a bend, causing it to strike a guardrail. No injuries or charges were reported.
Wellsville
– Cindy Mobley reported at 9:55 p.m. April 26 that a woman was being assaulted by a male at his Clark Avenue residence. Officers arrived and found the woman walking in the alley behind the residence, and observed her with a bloody bottom lip. She said the man threw her down, punched and kicked her. The woman was brought to the station to fill out a statement and for officers to take pictures of the injury. She said she did not wish to fill the statement out at the time, but said she’d take a statement home with her and consider the option of filing charges.
– Alison S. Dobbs, Florence Street, East Liverpool, reported at 1:44 p.m. Saturday that sometime between April 19 and the time of the call, her rental property on Broadway Avenue, Wellsville, was broken into with items damaged. The garage under the Broadway Avenue apartment was entered by an unknown person by destroying the wooden door leading into the garage area. Some drain pipes and a water pipe were also damaged along with damage to the south kitchen window and the south bathroom window. Damage to the windows were done by marbles being used as projectiles from the rental property.
– Nicole Horner, Ninth Street, reported at 10:10 a.m. Sunday that she went to buy groceries and the card for her child read a zero balance. She said she called SSI and said that on April 30 in Kansas City, Mo., someone charged $103 at a Shell gas station, $97 at a BP station, $54 at a McDonald’s, another $23, and then $13 at a Sam’s Club on May 1. Horner said she did not authorize these transactions and didn’t know how the perpetrator did this.
Salem
– An officer responded to a 1200 block Cedar Ridge Drive at 2:28 p.m. Monday where the resident reported the rear door had been forced open, damaging the frame, but that nothing appeared to be missing.
– Officers responded to a 400 block North Ellsworth Avenue home at 5:32 p.m. Monday where the resident reported seeing her neighbor in her yard taking a cat without permission. The neighbor was warned to stay off the woman’s property.
– A man at 5:57 p.m. Monday reported a road rage incident on East State Street in which the driver of the vehicle in front of him eventually exited his vehicle, then climbed back in, at which time the driver’s female passenger got out and kicked the front of his truck, causing damage.
– An officer responded to a 900 block New Garden Avenue at 6:21 p.m. Monday where the resident reported a man she knows had been told to stay off her property, but had been there that day to retrieve a belonging. The officer found that officers failed to contact the man previously to tell him to stay off the property, and an officer on a later shift eventually contacted the man.
– Police arrested two juvenile girls, 16 and 12, for delinquency and theft after they allegedly attempted to steal $40.80 worth of merchandise from a 2800 block East State Street business at 8:35 p.m. Monday.
– A woman at 9:15 p.m. Monday reported a road rage incident on East State Street in which a motorcycle rider had punched the side mirror of her vehicle, damaging the mirror housing, after both drivers had passed one another multiple times.
– Officers responded to a Prospect Street apartment at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday where the resident reported finding drug paraphernalia belonging to his roommate in the home. The paraphernalia was confiscated.
– Officers attempted to talk with a distraught juvenile at an East Seventh Street at 8:02 a.m. Tuesday, but the mother said she had taken the juvenile to the Salem hospital for help after he made suicidal comments via text message and that now he did not wish to talk to officers.
– Amy S. Arcuri, 44, Salem, was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign following a two-vehicle crash at East State Street and South Madison Avenue at 11:52 a.m. Tuesday in which she attempted a westbound turn off South Madison, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Amy L. Bourne, 54, Gnadenhutten. Arcuri was transported by ambulance to the Salem Regional Medical Center emergency room for incapacitating injuries.
– A North Madison Avenue resident reported at 11:57 a.m. Tuesday that a former neighbor had stopped in the roadway and called her profane names that day, and had driven down the road at an excessive speed prior.
– An East Third Street resident reported at 1:12 p.m. Tuesday that money had been taken from her home again.
– An officer responded to the 400 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday to speak with a distraught man, but found that he no longer lived at the home.
Perry Township
– Police responded with Perry Township first responders and an ambulance to a 1300 block South Lincoln Avenue home at 4:53 p.m. Monday in reference to a drug overdose and found a woman unconscious on the floor. Drug paraphernalia was recovered from the scene and sent for testing. The woman was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.
– Police responded to the area of Egypt and East Pine Lake Road at 10:39 p.m. Monday in reference to a suspicious vehicle and found two women, who were checked for warrants and warned that they were on private property.
Lisbon
– Firefighters responded to a complaint of a basement needing pumped on East Lincoln Way at 2:14 p.m. Monday.
Police
County Sheriff
– Justice Dixon and Nicholas Engler reported shots fired at them on Jersey Ridge Road at 12:06 a.m. Sunday. The two claimed they were riding down the road in a vehicle when someone shined a spotlight on them. They stopped to ask why and two men about 200 feet away fired two shots at them. They said they saw dirt puff up where the shots hit and they took off. Deputies went to the area. First they went to the house, where a woman who appeared nervous talked to them through a glass door and claimed there were no guys there. Then she told deputies just her boyfriend and he was outside. Deputies saw a light go on in one of the barns, drew their guns and told the person to come out with hands up. A man then yelled from a field near the side of the house and began to walk toward them. One deputy, Brandon Brown, tripped over a black trailer hitch in the yard, flipped over, but was uninjured. Deputies eventually spoke with both Jeremy and Anthony Garzoni, who claimed the black car had gone up and down the road slowly revving its engine about six times and their father, Joseph Garzoni, had fired a single shot from his .38 special into the ground to scare them away. The gun was secured. Joseph Garzoni was charged with using weapons while intoxicated.
– Judy Burkey, Lisbon-Dungannon Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:15 p.m. Sunday her daughter saw someone with a green Jeep on their property without permission.
– A domestic was reported at 7:14 p.m. Sunday. A 17-year-old boy had reportedly shoved his mother down onto the couch and caused her to strike the back of her head on his knee. Statements were taken. The boy had left the house. The matter is under investigation.
– Kristen Kalis of XL Sand and Gravel, Negley, reported someone trespassing. Deputies and someone from Ohio Department of Natural Resources found the person fishing in a lake on the property. He was told to leave.
Highway Patrol
– David A. Warren, 55, Petersburg, was turning right at the Heck Road and Waterford Road intersection in Unity Township at 1 a.m. Wednesday and went off the right side of the road and into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.
Lisbon
-Gregory Mason Jr., 32, of Aliquippa, Pa., was charged with driving without a valid license and possessing instruments used to commit drug abuse following a traffic stop on Rose Drive at 3:37 a.m. Thursday. Police were already aware Mason did not have a license when they saw him driving a vehicle belonging to Megan Tomlin, Rose Drive, and initiated a traffic stop.
Columbiana
– James T. Gorman, Canfield, reported at 10 a.m. Sunday he backed into a yellow Ford Mustang while leaving the Columbiana Ford dealership. No citations were issued due to being on private property.
– A South Main Street man reported at 11 a.m. Sunday the door to his neighbor’s home was open and he didn’t believe they were home.
– A man reported at 4:49 p.m. Sunday four kids on the visitor bleachers in the park were yelling obscenities. Police found a group of girls in the bleachers but they denied using any foul language.
– A man reported at 4:19 a.m. Sunday he saw a train coming on the Pittsburgh Street railroad tracks and then it stopped and he believed it had derailed. Police checked the area and found no problems.
East Palestine
– Ashley Hill, address not listed, reported at 4:48 p.m. Friday she was being harassed by and threatened at an East Grant Street home by someone she knows.
– Police were called to the 300 block of Columbia Street for a report of a suspicious man on the property at 9:35 p.m. Friday. No other problems were reported.
– Amanda Ogle, South Street, reported at 7:36 a.m. Saturday she was receiving harassing and threatening phone calls from an ex-boyfriend. Police left a message with the man warning him to stop communicating with Ogle or he would be charged.
– Someone anonymously reported at 11:40 p.m. Saturday a man in a vehicle on South Street with a woman was acting erratic. Police checked and found the female driver was sober but the man was intoxicated and she was taking him home.
– Connie Fortner, East North Avenue, reported at 12:13 p.m. Saturday that neighbors down the block from hers were allowing their dog to run free in the neighborhood and it defecates along her fence.
– Zoning violation notices for high grass were sent to the following on Saturday: 402 W. Martin St.; 456 W. Martin St.; 1027 W. Martin St.; 213 and 215 W. Clark St.; 392 E. Martin St.; 780 E. Taggart St.; 203 S. Market St.; 86 Wood St.; 364 South St.; 200 Carbon Hill Road and 254 Carbon Hill Road.
East Liverpool
– During an altercation over toilet paper, Charlene Peace, 27, North Shadylane, reported her son’s father, Gary Yarosz, 30, pushed her repeatedly, choked her, pulled her hair and punched her in the stomach before throwing her onto the floor. Yarosz reportedly knocked over their 2-year-old son as he stormed out of the house and took $150 from Peace. He was charged with domestic violence.
– Brian K. Gerren, 53, East Main Street, Salineville, was charged Sunday afternoon with theft after a Giant Eagle employee reported seeing him place two packages of meat into his pants then leave the store without paying.
– Officers took Katlyn Myrick, 25 and Christopher A. Reed, 40, into custody on outstanding warrants at the YMCA on Fourth Street after observing drug activity. Reports had no addresses for them.
– Brandon McClurg, Fawcett Street, reported someone has been getting into his car and taking items, breaking the window tracks in the process.
– Officers assisted Children’s Services at a Etruria Street residence in removing a 10-month-old child from the residence after custody was awarded to the agency.
– Officers assisted Lifeteam paramedics at an Allison Avenue home with a 38-year-old man who had overdosed. He was found lying unconscious on the bathroom floor. After paramedics administered Narcan and revived him, the man was transported to the hospital.
– Cindy Lynn, Wilbert Avenue, reported she believes a person she knows placed something into her gas tank.
– Charles L. Davis, whose apartment at Fawcett Apartments burned last week, reported that, since the fire, someone has broken into his home and taken items not damaged by the fire.
– An officer reported seeing Joshua Morris-Revelant, no age or address listed, driving on Walnut Street and initiated a traffic stop, knowing that he had a suspended license. The officer reported seeing an open can of alcohol in the vehicle and charged Morris-Revelant with driving under suspension and open container in a motor vehicle.
– Craig and Gregg Stowers, no addresses listed, reported their brother had come into a home they are remodeling on Seventh Street and began breaking items because he was upset with them. They wanted the incident documented.
– Hayley Reed, Etruria Street, reported the father of her child became enraged when she would not allow the child go with him. The man reportedly grabbed Reed and was verbally abusive while she was holding the 17-month-old child.
– Jada Pack, Erie Street, reported her home entered while locked and a large television stolen.
St. Clair Township
– Tonyea Roberts reported her brother, Phillip M. Roberts, 25, Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, was outside her mother’s house and refusing to leave. Police reported having responded to the residence on Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road several times over the last month in regard to Roberts refusing to leave, also arresting him for possession of drugs. At the home, Roberts told officers the court ordered him to go to his mother’s home and stay and, although his mother, Charlotte, told him to leave, he had no place to go. Officers reported that Roberts began crying and pleading with his mother not to do this to him. She told officers that, even though she would do anything for her son, she can no longer give him money, also saying she is scared because drug dealers are calling and threatening harm to her and her residence if she doesn’t pay his drug debt.
Goshen Police District
– Nicholas Bradley Stanyard, 28, Beaver Falls, Pa., was cited for driving under the influence and marked lanes following a traffic stop on state Route 165 at Lisbon Road at 12:03 a.m. Saturday.
Salem
– Police responded to possible gun shots in the 1100 block of East Third at 4:13 p.m. Sunday, but were unable to find any disturbance.
– Gregory Hoffman, 38, Salem, was cited for assured clear distance on South Ellsworth at 10:43 p.m. Sunday in which he rear-ended the rear of a tow truck with its lights activated driven by James M. Good, 49, Cuyahoga Falls.
– Officers responded to a dispute in the 500 block of Bank Street at 11:48 p.m. Sunday and found no physical violence, but that all involved were intoxicated.
– An officer responded to an East Third apartment at 12:06 a.m. Monday where a resident reported someone had entered the home some-time within the past hour and removed several items.
– Reagan M. Duck, 19, Wellsville, was cited for driving under suspension after a traffic stop at Highland and State at 12:40 a.m. Monday. His passenger, Michael S. Heverly, 31, Homeworth, was cited for disorderly conduct after becoming irate when a driver arrived to pick them up.
– An officer responded to a 2000 block Oak Street home at 12:41 a.m. Monday where the resident reported the sound of someone trying to enter an enclosed porch at the home, but the officer was unable to find anyone outside.
– Megan A. McClaskey, 23, 232 W. 10th St., Salem, was charged with domestic violence after officers responded to her home where her boyfriend claimed she pushed him down two flights of stairs during an argument. Officers observed injuries.
Perry Township
– Guy Paul Blancato III, 22, no listed address, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at 3:03 p.m. Friday in which he was westbound on East Pidgeon Road and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Dorothy L. Sniezek, 65, Salem. No injuries were reported.
– A patrolling officer at 8:09 p.m. Friday observed an unsecured door with the key in the lock at a South Lincoln Avenue building. It appeared to be employee neglect and a keyholder was advised of the situation.
– An officer responded to a Prospect Street apartment at 8:35 p.m. Friday where a woman requested stand by while a piece of furniture mistakenly removed was returned.
– Michael E. McCain, 44, Salem, was arrested on a secret indictment warrant out of the sheriff’s office at 12:22 a.m. Saturday.
– Police were advised of a possible crash near the intersection of state Route 344 and Cunningham Road at 6:52 a.m. Saturday, but instead found a disabled vehicle on state Route 344 near Leetonia limits.
– Police responded to the 1900 block of state Route 344 where a resident reported two men were in his backyard near his barn, one of whom slit his jacket with a knife when he confronted them. He said they ran off into the woods behind the property.
– Police responded to the Salem Hunting Club area for a report of a drunk person walking around at 12:02 a.m. Sunday but were unable to find anyone.
– A Goshen Road resident reported at 2:21 p.m. Sunday receiving harassing calls from ex-girlfriend regarding a dog they purchased while dating for which he has taken care of since the fall and for which she now wants custody settled in court. He was advised that it is a civil matter.
– An officer responded to a Prospect Street apartment at 8:37 p.m. Sunday where a West Perry resident reported their son’s bicycle stolen after he left it at the apartment.
– Stephanie J. Godfrey, 35, Salem, was arrested for suspected OVI, failure to control and child endange-rment after officers responded to the dead end of interchange of the bypass at 10:45 p.m. Sunday. She drove off the roadway, striking a mound of asphalt. Officers found medical personnel attending to a child inside the vehicle, who was eventually taken to St. Elizabeth’s in Youngstown for evaluation.
Wellsville
– Police were called at 3:14 p.m. April 23 on a traffic stop at Lisbon and First streets by another officer to advise that Susan Joy ran the stop sign, nearly causing an accident. An officer advised he had to slam on the brakes due to the vehicle’s driver in front of him slamming on the brakes as well. An officer advised the reporting officer to issue a citation due to the nature of the stop. The reporting officer also advised Joy’s husband, Fred Joy, was following him and seemed to be irate. It was later reported that officers had talked with Mr. Joy at his residence about his actions, and that Mr. Joy later drove to the station and apologized to the officers.
– William Curtis, Danbury Avenue, reported around 1:08 p.m. April 25 he was walking along Clark Avenue around 18th Street when he was attacked by a gray-colored pit bull, bit in the right upper thigh and groin area. No blood was visible but officers were able to see a puncture mark on his upper thigh. After filling out a statement, an officer advised Curtis to go to the hospital for treatment. An officer searched the area for the dog in question, but was unable to make contact. The case was turned over to the village animal control officer.
– Police received a call around 2:20 a.m. April 26 from dispatch in regard to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and was asked to meet the parties involved at CIMBAR. Officers met with Matthew Lawrence of Commerce Street, Brandon Savin of Oak Glenn Avenue, East Liverpool, and Kylee Zoellers of state Route 45, Lisbon, at the employee lot. Savin said he and Zoellers were driving down at Yellow Creek Pits around the “forbidden zone” in Saline Township when they saw Lawrence’s camouflage-colored Jeep, and were going to approach the vehicle to speak to him, only to learn that it wasn’t Lawrence behind the wheel. Savin said when he asked, the driver provided a name and an East Liverpool address. As to why he had Lawrence’s vehicle, the man reportedly didn’t reply. Savin said he then pulled the man out of the Jeep and the two got in a physical altercation, to which the man ran away toward the railroad tracks. Lawrence then drove the Jeep to the CIMBAR parking lot. An officer rode to the pits with a Saline Township police officer to search for the man without contact. A citation for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was written for the man and a warrant will be filed for his arrest.
– Police were called at 12:02 p.m. Saturday to a Clark Avenue residence in reference to someone unknown to the resident who had entered an unlocked garage and removed a 25-foot wooden ladder and a 15-foot aluminum ladder, along with a picnic table, from the backyard. The incident happened sometime between Wednesday and the time of the call.
– Police were called a 2:45 p.m. Thursday to Clark Avenue regarding a hit/skip. Officers met with Carol L. Blaschak, Riverview Street, East Liverpool, who said that sometime between 10:30 p.m. the day before and 2:30 p.m. the day of the call, a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze owned by her sister, Kathy Lawrence of Wintersville, was struck. Blaschak reported the only damage was to the driver side mirror.
Lisbon
-The fire department responded to a report of smoking power lines on Hunter Camp Road at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Salem
– Firefighters responded to the 100 block of West Fifth Street at 8:32 p.m. Sunday at the request of Salem police officers in reference to a large amount of smoke from a recreational fire and found the resident was burning pine limbs and brush. The fire was extinguished and the resident advised of open burning laws.

County Sheriff
– Deputies were called to a Taylor Road home at noon Sunday for a report of a domestic there. Deputies spoke with a man who said his 12-year-old son was threatening to run away after threatening his brother. The boy told deputies he was upset that his parents showed attention to his younger brother due to his illness. The boy’s father said he would pursue unruly charges through juvenile court.
– A deputy was called to 23236 Main St., Minerva, at 12:25 a.m. Sunday for a report of a prowler. No one was found on the property.
– A deputies was called to 3167 Padgett Road at 2:24 p.m. Friday for a report of animal neglect. It was discovered that the horse in question was very old and getting ready to pass away and no neglect was found. The other animals on the property were well taken care of and had access to food, water and shelter.
– Janet Muntean, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, reported at 7:59 a.m. Thursday her 82-year-old mother, also of Fairfield School Road, was a victim of a lottery scam. Muntean told deputies a man called her mother and talked her into sending him a check to Whitesville, W.Va. Muntean said she was able to intercept the check at the post office before it could be mailed out and also believed the man may have her mother’s bank account and Social Security information.
– David Merriman, Hillcrest Road, Wellsville, reported at 6:47 p.m. Friday he let a man he knows use his rototiller two years ago and the man still has not returned the equipment.
– David McVay, Trinity Church Road, Lisbon, reported at 10 a.m. Friday he was being harassed by his sister-in-law. McVay told deputies that he lives in a trailer on his grandmother’s property and his sister-in-law put a three-day eviction notice on his door. He said his grandmother, who owns the trailer and the property, told him not to worry about the eviction notice.
– Rhonda Condes, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, reported at 8:14 a.m. Friday her 17-year-old son left the home and was refusing to return after being gone three days. A deputy advised her to file a missing persons report through the sheriff’s office and file unruly charges through juvenile court.
– Dan Roscoe, McCloskey Road, New Waterford, reported at 12:49 a.m. Saturday he made a man leave Marshall’s Bar in East Palestine due to the man acting up and the man and a woman later followed him home and began yelling at him to come out and fight with them. The man and woman were gone when deputies arrived.
– Deputies were called to an East Liverpool area home at 5:21 p.m. Thursday for a complaint that a 14-year-old girl ran away from the home crying and afraid. Deputies caught up with the girl, who claimed that her grandparents found her phone and demanded it and when she refused, they held her down and her grandfather began to hit her in the neck and shoulder area. The girl did not have any marks on her. Deputies then spoke with the girl’s grandparents and her sister, who said the girl was caught sending nude photos on the internet and engaging in sexual activity on a school bus and her grandparents did not want her on social media. They also said that when they discovered the phone the girl became combative and was held down to prevent injury to herself or others. The girl also told deputies and St. Clair Township police her grandfather has been inappropriately touching her the last seven years. Police looked into the complaint but found it to be unfounded. The girl also denied sending photos on social media and sexual activity on the school bus.
– Richard Brown, Sprucevale Road, Rogers, reported at 11:57 a.m. Saturday someone took his goat during the night.
– Deputies told people on Bayview Drive in Knox Township to keep their noise down at 10 p.m. Saturday.
– Joseph Robb, Richardson Street, Negley, reported at 7:56 p.m. Saturday his neighbors have had people over at their house for the last three weeks and they have been parking in his grass on his property. Robb also told deputies he has spoken with the neighbor about the problem.
– Deputies were called to a home on St. Jacob-Logtown Road in Lisbon at 8:17 p.m. Saturday for a report that a 6-year-old boy cut off two fingers when he put them between the belt and drive wheel an older Craftsman air compressor that was running. The boy was taken to a hospital by EMS.
– Robert Hall reported at 8:13 p.m. Saturday someone stole two ATVs from his property.
Highway Patrol
– Robert Brandon Leasure, 21, South Avenue, Colum-biana, was southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 12:15 p.m. Friday and had brake failure while attempting a left turn and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for unsafe vehicle.
– Jose Miguel Rodriguez Jr., 42, Youngstown, and Michael J. Cappitte Jr., 36, Struthers, were southbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 7:30 a.m. Friday and Rodriquez stopped for traffic and was struck from behind by Cappitte. Cappitte was cited for assured clear distance.
– John H. Hochmann, 83, Lisbon Road, Leetonia, was southbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 12:40 p.m. Sunday and was struck by Hannah Marie Elizabeth Davis, 15, North Beaver Street, Lisbon, who was pulling from a private drive. She was cited for marked lanes.
– Alexis Marie Gross, 17, Seigler Road, Salineville, and Nicole Grim, 34, East Main Street, Salineville, were westbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 2:39 p.m. Thursday and Grim stopped for a school bus and was struck from behind by Gross. Gross was cited for assured clear distance.
– James B. Beswick, 59, Toronto, was southbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 6:49 p.m. Thursday and hit a deer.
– Theresa M. Dallies, 40, Creek Road, New Waterford, was northbound on Creek Road in Fairfield Township at 6:10 a.m. Thursday and hit a deer.
– Kimberly D. Smith, 50, Warrensville Heights, was northbound on Hunters Camp Road in Center Township at 1 p.m. Wednesday when the undercarriage of the commercial bus owned by Precious Cargo Transportation she was driving got stuck on the road while she was attempting to make a left turn. Smith reportedly exited the vehicle to examine the problem, at which point the bus traveled forward into a tree. She was cited for leaving a motor vehicle unattended. She and 12 of the passengers were not injured. Passenger Derek J. Randolph, 15, North Main Street, Columbiana, was taken to the SRMC for possible injuries.
East Palestine
– Someone reported at 4:49 a.m. April 23 a young girl was walking on state Route 14. Police found the girl near Bojangles restaurant and she told them she was walking home from her boyfriend’s home in the village. Police worked with the Columbiana department and sheriff’s office to get the girl home to her parents.
– Someone reported at 3:43 a.m. Friday someone put graffiti on the front window of the Youngstown Vindicator newspaper box.
– Mike Sisco, West North Avenue, reported at 4:46 p.m. Thursday two dogs were running loose at his home and they belonged to Courtney Newman, East North Avenue. Police contacted Newman, who was able to get the dogs back home.
– A Riffle Road man reported at 2 a.m. Friday a friend of his who lives on East Highland Avenue was threatening to commit suicide by walking in front of a train. Police found the man and he said he had no plans of harming himself.
– Margaret Randolph, Bacon Avenue, reported at 1:50 p.m. Saturday she received a scam email from a program for poverty and retired people and they were requesting large sums of money.
– Harold Enterline, West Martin Street, reported at 2 p.m. Saturday a vehicle was parked on his sidewalk in front of his house. Police told the man to move his van.
Columbiana
– A man reported at 8 a.m. Saturday there was a reckless driver on state Route 14. Police found the vehicle and spoke with the driver and found there were no problems.
– Collin Perkins, Fairfield School Road, reported at 10 a.m. Saturday his brother Justin Perkins assaulted him. Police arrested Perkins, 28, Fairfield School Road, for domestic violence and he was taken to the county jail.
– Jenny Heldreth, East Park Avenue, reported at 10:18 a.m. Saturday her house was broken into.
– Emily Hubbard reported at 2:11 p.m. Saturday she was trying to get her property out of a Court Street home and her mother and sister were causing problems. Police stood by to keep the peace. Troy and Tylor Thompson of New Waterford were warned for criminal trespassing.
Salem
– Police responded to SRMC at 7:35 p.m. Saturday where a patient reported someone was on their way to beat them up and would have a gun. Officers found that the threat originated from a third party via a social media message that had been deleted.
– Officers responded to a 900 block West State Street business at 9:02 p.m. Saturday where someone reported lights on at an unusual time, but found the building secure and no cars in the parking lot.
– Police responded to a 1200 block East Third Street home at 9:37 p.m. Saturday where the resident reported someone possibly attempting to enter the residence, but found no evidence of such.
– A South Howard Avenue resident requested officers on station at 10:05 p.m. Saturday look at her hand after she cut it with a knife while slicing fruit. She was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.
– An officer responded to a Cleveland Street home at 10:20 p.m. Saturday where a woman reported her ex-boyfriend had been contacting her and would not stop.
– Officers responded to the 100 block of West State Street at 11:23 p.m. Saturday for a report of a suspicious man with blood on him. They found him to be intoxicated with a laceration on his left arm bleeding considerably. He said he had fallen and injured himself, and was transported by ambulance to the Salem hospital.
– A patrolling officer observed two people walking near a 300 block West State Street business at 4:03 a.m. Sunday and found one to be a juvenile. Andrew Raymond Irwin, 17, Salem, was charged with unruly juvenile and curfew violations and turned over to his mother.
– Officers responded to an 1100 block South Lincoln Avenue apartment for a report of a fight and found a physical altercation between three men who would not comply with officers commands. One man grabbed and officer and wouldn’t let go until he was tasered, at which time the men separated. Manuel A. Jimon, 24, 491 Perry St., Salem, was charged with assault and resisting arrest; Gabriel F. DeJesus, 29, 323 Rose Ave., Salem, was charged with assault; and Jorge J. Castro, 22, 1164 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem, was charged with assault. A fourth man was found intoxicated and sleeping in a bathtub with and injured arm not related to the incident. He was transported by ambulance to SRMC.
– Officers checked the West Second area for a suspicious man, but found everything OK at 2:22 p.m. Sunday.
Salem
– Firefighters responded to a 1500 block North Ellsworth Avenue home at 8:31 p.m. Saturday for a possible fire in which a neighbor reported smoke at the rear of the building. It turned out to be steam from the dryer vent.

Salem
– A 1200 Cedar Ridge Drive resident reported at 2:59 p.m. Friday that someone had entered her home that day and taken a gaming system console with controller and four games that she was leasing from an area business.
– Logan P. Stewart, 20, Salem, was cited for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop for a moving violation in the area of Woodland Avenue and Maple Street at 8:36 p.m. Friday.
– Police responded to the high school parking lot at 1:12 a.m. Saturday in reference to two suspicious vehicles and found that the drivers had been working late at the musical and were talking before leaving.
– A West Perry Street resident reported at 2:11 a.m. Saturday that her ex-boyfriend had damaged her vehicle while she was picking up belongings at a Vine Avenue residence just prior to the report. The ex-boyfriend denied the action.
– Nickolas Opalick, 64, Canfield, was arrested on a felony fraud warrant out of Boardman while at his place of business in the 800 block of West State Street at 10:38 a.m. Saturday.
– Officers responded to the 500 block of Columbia Street at 12:19 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man having seizures. The man was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
– Police responded to the 200 block of Rose Avenue at 12:56 p.m. Saturday in reference to a toddler outside alone screaming for his mother. The child was found inside with his mother and everything was okay.
– An Olive Street resident reported at 1:30 p.m. Saturday going with his wife to North Carolina to pick up their great-granddaughter due to an issue with the child’s mother. He said they all came back to Salem and now the mother was threatening to take the child and leave. The mother was advised to speak with children services before leaving.
– An officer responded to the area behind the fire department at 1:56 p.m. Saturday where a woman had struck the stop sign with her vehicle then left the area. The officer was able to contact the woman and obtain photos of the damage
