POLICE

County Sheriff

– Jack Henderson of Chesapeake Security reported Thursday someone shot up one of their signs at a company site off Watson Road in West Township. The sign provided emergency contact numbers and also advises there is no trespassing.

– Deputies were called to a home on Parkview Road, Lisbon, at 12:52 a.m. Friday in regard to a man considering harming himself. The man reported taking some extra pills for anxiety and blood pressure, so an ambulance was summoned to transport him to a hospital to be examined.

– Marc Ballinger, Georgetown-Damascus Road, Beloit, reported Thursday he prepared his taxes online through Turbotax, and when he went to send his taxes he was informed his taxes had already been filed by someone. He was advised to contact the IRS.

– Sharon Snyder, Eagleton Road, Lisbon, reported Thursday receiving a harassing call from an unknown person who knew her by name. The caller said his friend told him Snyder was on Facebook, and when she asked him what this was about he called her a name and hung up. Snyder tried calling him back but he hung up and turned off his phone. The sheriff’s office called the number and found out it is a pre-paid cellphone.

-Deputies were called to a residence on Hunters Camp Road, Lisbon, at 9:41 p.m. Thursday, where a man said his 17-year-old daughter was angry with him because they were arguing over her sneaking out to be with an older man. The daughter said everything was fine and no assaults or threats occurred.

Highway Patrol

– Christopher D. McCord, 30, Alliance, was westbound on Myers Road in West Township at 12:30 a.m. Thursday and went off the road into a tree.

– Austin J. Sullivan, 17, Fink Road, Kensington, was eastbound on Alderlick Road in Wayne Township at 9:50 a.m. Thursday and went off the left side into a fence line and a tree and overturned. He was cited for failure to control and taken to the Salem hospital with possible injuries.

– Randall E. Catlett, 60, West Main Street, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 1:10 p.m. Thursday and went off the left edge over an embankment and into a log. He was cited for failure to control.

– Brigitte D. Osborn, 49, West Main Street, New Waterford, was eastbound on state Route 165 in Unity Township at 1:20 p.m. Thursday and slid off the right side into a ditch and came to rest in the eastbound lane.

– Joshua Wayne Bandy, 27, Baker Road, Lisbon, was northbound on Depot Road in Butler Township at 10:30 p.m. Thursday and lost control and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Richard J. Wyant, 39, North Bayshore Drive, Columbiana, was eastbound on state Route 14 in Salem Township at 3:53 a.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a gas line marker and then struck a large rock.

– Ronald E. Hale, 36, Laughlin Road, Lisbon, was westbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 9:14 p.m. Sunday and attempted to avoid a deer and slid into a ditch.

– Lillian D. Blevins, 65, Kirk Road, Columbiana, was southbound on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 11 p.m. Monday and went off the right side into a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control.

– John P. Planchock, 59, Benton Road, Salem, was westbound on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Albert B. Carioti, 75, North Canton, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday and was struck by debris from a load being carried by Earl J. Neuenschwander, Bane Road, Kensington. Neuenschwander was cited for securing loads.

East Palestine

– An East Main Street resident reported at 4:19 p.m. Tuesday a juvenile was throwing rocks and tearing up the house.

– A Kenmar Drive woman reported at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday people were loitering at Test Mark after hours.

Columbiana

– Danny L. Benedict, 71, West Southern Avenue, was westbound on Southern Avenue at 11:41 a.m. Thursday and was attempting to pull alongside his mailbox and lost control on ice and struck the mailbox causing damage.

– The owner of Shellabellas on South Main Street reported at 7:11 p.m. Thursday a man had been in the restaurant causing problems and asking for drugs.

– Andrew Nutt, 26, Columbiana, was cited for driving under suspension and lighted lights required following a traffic stop.

Lisbon

– A caller reported there was a white Trail Blazer possible leaking a large amount of gasoline on Greentree Place at 4:25 p.m. Thursday. Police found the SUV but did not smell any gas, and a maintenance worker crawled underneath the veahicle and did not see see anything leaking.

– A caller complained Thursday about a dog owner who lets his pet defecate in the alley and parking lot off North Park Avenue by Geronimo’s Hardware Store. Police arrived and spoke with Michael Grim, who was told he needed to clean up after his dog or he could be charged. Grim said he would not let it happen again, and police also spoke with a female who lives nearby who also owns a dog.

– Police were asked to check on the welfare of a woman who lives on North Beaver Street at 8:12 a.m. Thursday. Police went to the residence but no one was home.

– Police were called to outside Mary’s Pizza in regard to a runaway boy at 6:29 p.m. Wednesday. Police found the youth, who lives outside of town on Steubenville Pike. He said he left home after getting into an altercation with his father’s girlfriend. Arrangements were made for his grandmother to pick him up.

– A caller reported there were juveniles fighting in the vicinity of West Lincoln Way and North Beaver Street at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Police arrived but there were no juveniles to be found.

Salem

– Audrey Treleven, 58, of 741 Main St., was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence after police were called at 8:24 p.m. Thursday to the 900 block of West Wilson Street for a report of an intoxicated person. A woman said a person known to her was on her way to the residence to pick up her child and was intoxicated. Officers saw the person in question drive around a patrol car and into the driveway. Officers made contact with the female driver and spoke with her about the complaint, detecting an odor of alcoholic beverage when she spoke. She was asked to perform a field sobriety test and was then taken into custody. Treleven was released to a family member.

– Sheila Cruz, 56, of Columbia Street, Leetonia, was charged with a marked lanes violation after her westbound vehicle in the right turn only lane on West State Street tried to change lanes into the straight ahead lane and struck a westbound vehicle driven by Nicholas Bryan, 25, of state Route 7, New Waterford, who was in the straight ahead lane at 8:15 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.

– Darrin Dustman, 20, of Rose Avenue, was charged with failure to yield after his southbound vehicle on Rose failed to stop for the stop sign and went through the intersection on East Third Street, striking a westbound vehicle driven by Mia Conn, 17, of Stewart Avenue. No injuries were reported.

– During a followup investigation regarding a juvenile, police responded to the 500 block of East Third Street at 5:47 p.m. Thursday and spoke with a juvenile who lived there. Police were able to locate a missing juvenile who was then transported to the police station to await a parent.

– Dustin Hutter, of the 600 block of North Ellsworth Avenue, reported at 5:36 p.m. Thursday that his bicycle was stolen from the property.

– At the request of the Salem schools, officers responded at 5:11 p.m. Thursday to the 500 block of East Fifth Street to make contact with a family member of a Buckeye student who had been kept on the bus. According to a district policy as explained to police, bus drivers don’t drop off students in grades K-2 if no one is at the bus stop to pick them up. Apparently there was a mixup over who was supposed to be there for the student and no one was there. School officials attempted to make contact by phone with family members of the student, but were unsuccessful in reaching anyone. The girl was taken to the bus garage until the police located an aunt who then responded to the bus garage on Pennsylvania Avenue to pick her up.

– A juvenile was reported missing from the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 4:17 p.m. Thursday. The juvenile was supposed to be there after school and did not show up. The juvenile was entered in the law enforcement data base while officers checked a known residence where the juvenile goes.

– A mother and son on South Lincoln Avenue got into an argument over the son’s girlfriend at 3:01 p.m. Thursday. No physical violence was involved. The son agreed to leave for awhile to calm down.

Perry Township

– Township police were requested at 9:11 p.m. Thursday by Mahoning County to check on several disabled vehicles on U.S. Route 62 just south of state Route 165 while their units were on another call. Police checked, but were unable to find any disabled vehicles.

– Mahala Al Wallace Jr. of Austintown was cited for driving under suspension after police were called to Chestnut Grove Road at 3:55 p.m. Thursday for two vehicles stuck in a yard. Wallace’s vehicle traveled off of the slippery road and became stuck, then the driver of a 4-wheel drive pickup attempted to pull the vehicle out and became stuck, too, when the drive train became disabled. Both vehicles were towed out of the yard and both drivers were told they were responsible for the property damage. The Wallace vehicle was impounded.

– No citation was issued due to road and weather conditions after a pickup driven by Laura Clunen, of Oak Street, Leetonia, traveled off of the road and into a yard in the 1800 block of state Route 344 at 12:42 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle sustained no damage and was driven from the scene. It was unknown if there was any damage to the yard.

– The owner of Little Red Hen on West State Street reported at 12:40 p.m. Thursday that a man walked out of the store without paying for several items. The matter is under investigation.

– An officer on patrol Thursday located a suspect vehicle from a hit/skip the day before parked in the 1000 block of West Perry Street. A refuse truck owned by Kimble Refuse had been struck when a car drove around it on West Perry Street at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday. The car was damaged, but the elderly female driver kept going. No damage was reported to the truck. Police spoke to the driver of the suspect vehicle and she didn’t realize she had struck the refuse truck. No citation was issued.

County Sheriff

– Anita Cope, Osbourne Road, Salineville, reported at 2 p.m. Monday she received a message from someone she thought was her sister, telling her she could make some money logging onto a website, United Nations. She did so and gave them some information. She then later learned her sister’s Facebook account had been hacked and several others were contacted in the same manner.

– Richelle Edwards, Frontier Communications, reported at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday copper cable was stolen from poles on King Road in Butler Township. About 1,200 feet of cable was taken. She found the casing to the cables laying near a pole.

– Mike Tuttle, owner of Wise Trucking, state Route 45, Lisbon, reported at 12:07 p.m. Tuesday one of his employees refused to take the random drug test and was terminated. An argument ensued and during the argument, the former employee reached inside his vehicle. Other employees became concerned he was reaching for a weapon and pulled him away from the vehicle. When this happened, they saw drug paraphernalia fall from the former employee’s person. David Taylor was cited with drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

– Tom Jones, Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, reported at 3:12 p.m. Wednesday snow is being plowed onto the property on Pilgrim Holiness Church by SD Nold. Debris is reportedly always left behind when the snow melts. Deputies spoke to the owner of SD Nold and he said he told his employees not to plow snow onto the church property.

– Warren Wells, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday his 12-year-old son ran away from home, arguing with Wells’ fiance and then walking away carrying an X-box. When he arrived home, Wells called the boys’ friends, but could not locate him. He was later found at Mary’s Pizza in Lisbon.

Columbiana

– The burglar alarm went off at Columbiana Boiler at 12:58 a.m. Wednesday, but the building was found to be secure. A company official was contacted.

– A 911 hang-up call was received from 901 Timberline Road at 8:04 a.m. Wednesday. Police went to the residence and the officer was told everything was fine.

– Callers reported there were people selling Kirby Sweepers on Parkview Drive at 12:35 p.m. After receiving a fourth call, police located the salesmen – Antwan Woodbridge, Tammy Brosius, Victoria Hyde, Glen Barrett and Joseph Jenkins Jr. – on North Middle Street. They were told to leave town or they would be arrested.

– Rebecca May reported a school bus dropped off a small boy at the wrong bus stop at the corner of Seventh Street and Firestone Avenue at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday. May said her two children were trying to help the boy find out where he needed to be. The situation was later resolved by police, although the report did not say how.

– Police were reported there was a traffic accident in the Columbiana Plaza parking lot at 2:47 p.m. Wednesday. No other information was provided by police.

East Palestine

– Someone who lives at 133 W. Martin St. reported Wednesday he was planning to return a TV to the Rent-A-Center when he discovered it was stolen from his garage.

Salem

– A North Lincoln man reported at 1:06 p.m. Thursday he thought he heard gunshots just west of his home near Hope Cemetery. An officer discovered a military funeral was being held at the chapel with the honor guard present.

– A woman slipped and fell 11:07 a.m. Thursday on East State in front of Kid Zone. She just wanted the incident documented. A witness who saw her had also fallen. He just wanted helped up. Additional salt was added to the walk.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Bank Street at 1:14 a.m. Thursday for a dispute. A man said he went to pick up his friend who had just been involved in a dispute with his girlfriend. Officers spoke to the male who said he wanted his apartment keys so he could leave. No physical violence took place. The female said she did not have the keys and had an argument with her boyfriend. The keys were found outside on the ground and the male left.

– A woman came to the staation at 12:31 a.m. Thursday regarding an altercation that took place in the 800 block of South Lundy Avenue. Her female friend and her boyfriend got into an altercation and wanted a report made.

– An officer responded at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday to an establishmenton South Broadway where employees said a known male entered and began using an electronic tablet. He became disorderly and began telling employees and patrons they were all going to go to prison and called them vulgar names. A warrant will be prepared for violating a protection order.

– A property owner in the 1000 block of Cleveland reported Wednesday that copper piping was taken from the home.

– A West State Street woman reported she noticed last week someone had taken a magnetic sign from the side of a vehicle for their business. She said she saw the sign on a vehicle Wednesday.

– Police responded to Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., for a report at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday of an irate person to be removed. The person was leaving the building and officers were aware of him from several prior incidents. He was told to leave and then requested an ambulance because he was not feeling well. KLG responded and took him to the hospital.

– A Walmart customer came to the station Wednesday and reported a theft matter involving the store from a transaction in November.

– A man in the 500 block of Franklin Street reported at 10:43 a.m. Wednesday that he put an ad on Craigslist for a roommate and a person contacted him via email and text saying she would move in but she needed help getting her car delivered here. She sent a check for $2,980 which he cashed, then sent the money to her via Western Union. He was told the check was no good. The incident is under investigation.

– Diana Wallce, 67, of West Perry Street, was cited for failure to yield after her northbound vehicle on Sharp stopped and went through the intersection, striking an eastbound vehicle driven by Aaron Strebel, 41, of Home-worth, on West Pershing, at 8:55 a.m. Wednesday.

– An officer on patrol at 8:52 a.m. Wednesday on South Lincoln Avenue saw an elderly man hitchhiking and made contact with him, noting the man appeared confused. The officer was familiar with him and knew where he lived, giving him a ride home and making contact with his wife. She said he suffers from dementia and she was unaware he had left.

– Steven Bosel, 51, of Newgarden Avenue, was cited for assured clear distance after his southbound vehicle was unable to stop and struck the rear of a southbound vehicle driven by Diane Hinkle, 68, of West Sixth Street, pushing her vehicle into the rear of a southbound vehicle driven by Roger Nock Jr., 25, of Youngstown, at 8:48 a.m. Wednesday. Hinkle and Nock both said they were stopped when hit from behind. Bosel said they stopped abruptly and he slid before striking the Hinkle vehicle. A passenger from the Hinkle vehicle, Dawn Hinkle, 39, of Aetna Street, claimed neck and back injuries.

– Kaileigh Olmsted, 28, of East Fifth Street, was cited for failure to yield after her eastbound vehicle attempted to turn right on red and struck a southbound vehicle driven by Sheila Hull, 53, of North Lincoln Avenue, who had the green light on Lincoln Avenue at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

– An officer responded to an alarm drop at the library at 4:04 p.m. Jan. 16.

– An officer took a harassment complaint from a Main Street woman at 9:26 p.m. Jan. 16.

– Police responded to an Elm Street home at 12:55 a.m. Jan. 18 for a report of man who needed transport to the hospital after not taking his medications and then began drinking.

– Police responded to a Chestnut Street home at 3:15 a.m. Jan. 18 in reference to a woman fighting with her parents regarding car keys.

– An officer responded to a 300 block Columbia Street home Jan. 18 in reference to a possible burglary.

– An officer responded to a Chestnut Street home at 6:58 p.m. Jan. 19 in reference to an assault.

– An officer responded with the fire department first responders to a medical issue in the 400 block of Somer Street at 4:18 p.m. Jan. 23.

Wellsville

– On Jan. 17 Patricia Witson, 15th Street, said Chris Joy came to her home and was yelling at her to come fight his wife, Heather Joy. The Joys said Witson had been calling their home making threats.

– On Jan. 22 Cory Gooch, East Liverpool, and Jason Long, Toronto, said they were playing a GPS based game when Michael Butler, Wellsville, aggressively pulled his car in front of theirs in the parking lot Jehovah’s Witness Church on 14th Street. They said Butler came up to the vehicle and began to swear and point his finger in Long’s face.

On Jan. 23 a Center Street man said someone broke into the entertainment garage at the rear of his property and ransacked the place. His brother saw four men walking through the side yard of the property toward a green mini van.

– George “Randy” Mackall, of Broadway, reported all four hubcaps being stolen from his vehicle.

– On Jan. 24 police were called about a white four-door vehicle circling the block near the Emerald Motel, which police know to be a location for drug activity. Police found the vehicle parked at Gibby’s Mini Mart. The driver, Mcdean Shreve, was cited for driving under suspension and failure to display a valid registration sticker. The vehicle was towed.

– On Jan. 24 Sherry Scarabino advised that something loud hit the front window of her home on Commerce Street. Someone had shot her front window with a yellow paintball.

– Postmaster Wendy Daugherty reported tires were slashed on two vehicles overnight Friday. Tire slashings also were reported by Joseph Bernardi, Center Street, Grace Gulace, Center Street, Edward Munoz, Commerce, and Ray Piatt, Commerce.

– On Jan. 26 John Lawrence reported David Wright and his brother came to his house on Broadway to get Wright’s 4-year-old son. Lawrence told the men to leave as the child’ mother had left him in Lawrence’s care. Lawrence said he heard Wright’s brother make a comment about assaulting him as they left.

– On Jan. 28 officers were called to My Bar to remove an intoxicated male, Terry Call. Call was extremely intoxicated and acted belligerently toward officers. He was charged with persistent disorderly conduct.

County Sheriff

– A vehicle was reported in the roadway by Cindy Lintz, a newspaper carrier, at 5:06 a.m. Wednesday on Metz Road near state Route 164. Deputies attempted to locate the owner, Alicia Wells, New Waterford, but all the phone numbers found for the registered owner have been turned off. The vehicle was towed.

– Barbara Beverly, Canal Street, Hanoverton, reported at 8:16 p.m. Tuesday she was assaulted by Paul Kelly Mays, who lives with her. They were arguing when he reportedly began spitting in her face and poking her in the chest. She reportedly pushed him away and he punched her in the left side of her face. Mays claims they were arguing about him letting the dog in the house and she became physical, poking him in the chest and face, slapping him in the face and scratching him on the arm. Beverly was taken to SRMC for treatment. Mays was charged with domestic violence. Beverly will also be charged with domestic violence.

– Eric Adam Pagani, 33, state Route 7, New Waterford, was transported to East Liverpool City Hospital from a Cummings Road address in Madison Township with what deputies described as an apparent heroin overdose at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday.

Highway Patrol

– Matthew C. Norton, 28, Millrock Road, Rogers, was westbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 9 a.m. Monday and an eastbound vehicle slid left of center and struck Norton and then continued on.

– Wayne E. Phillips, 45, North Lincoln, Salem, was southbound on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 1:10 p.m. Monday and failed to stop at the Route 344 intersection and struck Joseph A. McKim, 67, Franklin Avenue, Salem, who was eastbound on state Route 344. After impact McKim went off the right side of the road. He was taken to the Salem hospital with possible injuries and Phillips was cited for right of way.

– Kenneth C. Grimm, 51, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was northbound on U.S. 30 in St. Clair Township at 4 p.m. Monday and went off the left side into a cement barrier. He was cited for failure to control.

– Shaun Suralie, 40, Wheathill Road, East Palestine, was northbound on state Route 170 in Middleton Township at 6 p.m. Sunday and lost control and struck Curtis F. Hunt, 45, Grimms Bridge Road, East Liverpool, who was southbound. After impact Suralie then struck a guardrail and then struck Hunt’s vehicle again and fled the scene. Suralie was later cited for failure to control and Hunt and a passenger, Lynn Hunt, 43, Grimms Bridge Road, East Liverpool, were taken to the East Liverpool Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lisbon

– Police responded to a domestic situation on North Vine Street at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday and were met by Cathy Schuler, who said her boyfriend believed he was having a seizure while they were arguing over the heat in the bedroom. The boyfriend, Joshua Hancock, said he was fine now and declined treatment from an ambulance called to the scene.

– A CARTS driver reported seeing a young person running past the Lisbon Veterinary Clinic on Race Road wearing a T-shirt and shorts at 3 p.m Tuesday. Police responded but did not find anyone matching that description or activity.

Columbiana

– At 5 p.m. Tuesday, police checked on a report of a vehicle that had been parked on Juniper Drive for three days. The vehicle was found in front of a home on Juniper Drive and police spoke with the residents who said it would be moved by evening.

East Palestine

– Police went to the East Palestine High School office on West Grant Street at 1:37 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an unruly parent.

– Police warned James Quigley, 151 W. Martin St., and Amanda R. Ogle, 205 W. Martin St. of a noise complaint at Quigley’s home at midnight Thursday.

Salem

– Bethany Devine, 23, of 218 Fair Ave., and Carmen Andric, 23, of 4764 Whinnery Road, were each charged with theft after an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart at 11:52 p.m. Tuesday. Devine allegedly had $47.79 worth of goods and Andric $16.47 worth of stuff.

– Police responded to a report of possible cruelty to animals at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 400 block of West School Street. The animals had dog houses and plenty of straw and seemed fine.

– A woman in the lot of Circle K East reported at 7:56 p.m. Tuesday another vehicle struck the rear of her van and fled. Surveillance footage showed a blue Chevy Cruze with numerous occupants.

– Police were called at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday to East State Street for a fight in progress. A woman was having lunch with a friend and the friend had her car keys and refused to give them back. After talking with police, the name returned the keys.

– Police assisted the sheriff’s office in serving a warrant at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday on Rebecca Masterson, of 162 W. Pershing St.

Perry Township

– No citation was issued after a Waste Management truck driven by Michael J. Perry Jr., 61, of Youngstown, turned left onto Garfield Road from Benton Road and the tires hit the soft shoulder of the road, pulling the truck into a ditch at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday. A tow truck was needed.

– Linda L. Laughlin, 37, of North Union Avenue, was transported to SRMC after wrecking on state Route 9 at 1:23 p.m. Tuesday. She went off the road and hit a pole.

– A PT Cruiser driven by Kandy Ann Johnson, 41, of Leetonia, slid off Route 344 and down an embankment Monday morning.

St. Clair Township

– Billie J. Smith, no address listed, told police she had moved out of her home in August due to a pending divorce and terminated the cable service in her name. When moving back into the house recently, Smith reported finding the cable service had been restored in her name just shortly after she moved out, leaving her with a $500 bill. She needed a report for a fraud complaint.

– Residents at 16172 Annesley Road reported someone drove over their mailboxes.

– Officers responded to 14101 Old Fredericktown Road for a person who had shown up and tried to harm himself. After officers spoke with him, the man agreed to go to the hospital for evaluation and was transported by North Star Critical Care ambulance.

Jefferson County

– The highway patrol in Wintersville on Tuesday arrested Amanda McKinnon, 27, Ferry Road, Chester, W.Va., for driving under suspension, reckless operation, receiving stolen property.

Weirton

– City police cited Toni Seilkop, East Liverpool, for no insurance.

Kathryn Marie Hoberek, 21, of East Liverpool: Robbery, nighttime burglary, assault during commission of a felony, malicious assault; Jan. 27.

County Sheriff

– Claudia Mercer, Autumn Road, Wellsville, reported at 3:45 p.m. Monday the neighbor’s child was sledding down a hill and going into her yard. She notified the child’s father, who also has warned the child.

– Marie Shinn, Brookfield Avenue, Lisbon, reported at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday someone entered her locked car overnight, ransacking the glovebox and a cardboard box in the back seat. A small amount of change was missing.

– Pamela Foster, state Route 7, Lisbon, reported Tuesday that on Saturday she was checking her online bank account and found Western Union deducted $34 from it. She had already contacted the bank about the deduction and closed her account.

– Susan Robbie, state Route 517, Columbiana, reported at 8:48 a.m. Friday that when she walked her daughter out to the bus stop that morning she found footprints around her house and barns.

– Robert Baxter, Wallace Road, Lisbon, reported at 9:54 a.m. Monday someone called Discover attempting to get a new card for his account. Discover notified him a person named Stephen DeLancy with a Kansas phone number had called attempting to get a card sent to an address in Van Nuys, Calif.

– George Sosack, Metz Road, New Waterford, reported at 2:13 p.m. Friday he noticed some footprints in the snow on his property, which traveled through the wooded area to the north of his house and then to a neighbor’s house to the east. Deputies spoke to the neighbor, who denied being on Sosack’s property recently. Deputies also followed the footprints, which seemed to continue east past the neighbor’s house. On Monday, the deputy received a handwritten note, which read, “this will be subjects clearing trees for powerline.”

– Tasha McCluskey, Main Street, Kensington, reported at 1:03 p.m. Friday her pickup had been broken down and parked on the east side of Trinity Church Road for a week. On Friday, she found someone had burned a plastic bottle of some type on the hood, burning the paint off in about a 12-inch circle directly in front of the driver’s seat. The windshield was also cracked.

Highway Patrol

– Donald S. Burns, 42, Lindimore Street, Minerva, was northbound on Mahoning Avenue in Knox Township at 7:50 p.m. Monday and Dustin L. Greenawalt, 18, Alliance, was southbound and both vehicles struck mirrors.

– Corrie E. David, 38, North Avenue, Lisbon, and Ray E. Beckner, 29, Unity Line Road, New Waterford, were northbound on state Route 7 in Fairfield Township at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday and David stopped at the traffic light at the Crestview Road intersection and was struck from behind by Beckner, who was cited for assured clear distance.

– Tammy L. Rammage, 47, Dyke Road, Rogers, was southbound on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 9:30 p.m. Thursday and went off the left side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

– Madison A. Brown, 23, Toronto, was southbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 2:35 p.m. Monday and went off the right side into a guardrail face. She was cited for failure to control.

– Jennifer L. Huff, 47, state Route 45, Lisbon, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in Elkrun Township at 8:40 a.m. Monday and lost control on snow and went off the left side into a guardrail. She was cited for failure to control.

– Michael J. Penrod, 42, Mick Road, Wellsville, was northbound on McIntosh Road in Madison Township at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and went off the left side into a cluster of small trees and brush. He was cited for failure to control.

– Noah F. Thornton, 25, Warren, was eastbound on Middle Beaver Road in Elkrun Township at 7:15 a.m. Thursday and went off the right side into a guardrail and a tree. He was cited for failure to control.

– Daphney A. House, 42, Hilltop Drive, Lisbon, and Gregory R. Carver, 58, Homeworth Road, Homeworth, were eastbound on state Route 172 in Center Township at 10 a.m. Wednesday and House stopped for traffic ahead and Carver failed to stop and slid on ice and snow and struck House from behind and then went off the right side of the road.

– Joseph Piscitani, 63, Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road, East Liverpool, was southbound on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 11:22 p.m. Sunday and went left of center off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control and his passenger, Hellen Reynolds, 46, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, was taken to East Liverpool Hospital with serious injuries.

Columbiana

– Ben Washburn, Brenda Lane, reported at 5 p.m. Monday there was a suspicious man wearing jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt in the area taking pictures of trees. Police checked the area but did not find the man.

– A Fairfield School Road woman reported theft from her home at 6:22 p.m. Monday.

Lisbon

– Frank Shagnot reported there was a man walking in traffic on North Market Street at 7 p.m. Monday. Police searched but did not find anyone walking in the street.

Police were called to the downtown laundromat at 2:24 p.m. Friday to find Justin Wallace sleeping on the bench. Wallace was advised he could not sleep there, nor could he use the outlet to recharge his phone. Wallace said he was homeless but turned down the officer’s offer of assistance.

– A caller reported an elderly person had fallen and could not get up at a home on Garfield Avenue at 4:48 a.m. Jan. 3. An ambulance was summoned to transport the person to the hospital.

– The security alarm went off at the Hamilton Building at 6:31 a.m. Jan. 3. Police found the building to be secure.

Center Township

– Police assisted an ODNR game warden on Thursday at Centennial Park on Eagleton Road after two people were found to be engaging in a sex act. Police contacted the county sheriff’s office, which told the couple to leave.

– Police responded on Friday to a burglary alarm going off on Trinity Church Road. The homeowner reported the alarm had been set off by mistake.

– Police responded Saturday to Turtle Beach Tanning for a suspicious odor. Police were told that every time a certain client leaves the business, this odor remains. Police searched the room the client was in and found a tissue with brown residue hidden in a palm tree in the room. Police advised the owner to call police the next time the person comes into the business.

– Police assisted a county sheriff’s deputy on Sunday in serving an arrest warrant following a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Route 30 and Wayne Bridge Road. While there, the deputy had to leave for an emergency call. Taken into custody was John P. Harris, 27, of Canton, on an outstanding warrant out of Mansfield. Jessica R. Gallagher, 27, of Canton, was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing marijuana.

East Liverpool

– An officer reported seeing Chachi Peddicord, no age or address listed, and Kayla M. Tullis, 21, no address listed, walking on Dresden Avenue and found that Peddicord had an active indictment against him. He was taken into custody and turned over to the sheriff’s department. Officers reported Tullis had a heroin syringe in her purse and she was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

– Justin D. Temple, 27, no age listed, was cited for open container in a motor vehicle after an officer reported seeing a vehicle enter the parking lot at Woodland Hills and found Temple with an open can of alcoholic beverage inside.

– Dollar General employees reported seeing a man stealing underwear and T-shirts. Charges are pending if he can be identified via surveillance video.

– Franklin J. Conrad, Moore Street, reported he left his apartment briefly and returned to find his cell phone missing.

– Tammy S. Jackson, no address listed, reported she left her keys on her lifting bag outside the restroom at the YMCA downtown and when she returned, the keys were gone.

– Kenneth Keeder, West Summit Street, reported a snow blower stolen. It had been chained to a gas meter, he told police.

– A Tri-State Cab driver reported taking two men to a Duke Vodrey Road residence where they picked up a Playstation3 game then had him drive them to a pawn shop in Chester, W.Va. There, they fled without paying the fare owed. The driver was able to obtain one of the men’s names from a pawn slip, according to reports.

– Karl Meeks, Hancock County, W.Va., reported four bags of horse shoes stolen from his property and sold for scrap at Six Recycling on Maple Street. Six officials were able to identify the person who sold the horseshoes.

– Adam L. Hutcheson, Grant Street, reported hearing his kitchen cabinets opening and going downstairs to find a man, who ran from the house. Nothing appeared to be missing.

– Emily L. Smith, Lisbon Street, reported her dog was shot in the leg with a BB, and she believes it was done by one of the neighborhood juveniles.

– Michael K. Mackey, Fisher Avenue, reported his keys and change stolen from his home.

– David L. Kidder, Reynolds Street, reported a family member threatened him with a gun. He was advised the process for obtaining a restraining order.

– Alexandria V. McKinnon, North Shadylane, reported she picked up her children at her ex-husband’s and he then began following her around.

– A caller reported seeing a hand-to-hand drug deal on West. Ninth Street, and an officer was able to stop the vehicle described. He reported the rear seat passenger was frantically putting something into his mouth, but the passenger told the officer he was biting off the end of a cigar.

– Dewayne L. Toothman, Trentvale Street, reported he arrived home to find footprints in the snow leading from his house to the neighbor’s and back, and found items had been taken.

– Terry W. Birkhimer, Smithfield Street, reported the rear window broken out of his vehicle and the front windshield damaged.

– Dennis L. Long, West Fourth Street, reported his windshield chipped by a BB, for the second time, and he believes he knows who is doing it.

– Lisa M. Stillwell reported going to her brother’s house on West Eighth Street to retrieve her phone from her ex-boyfriend. She said the ex-boyfriend chest-bumped her and slammed her $600 phone into the window of her brother’s car, breaking it. The former boyfriend reportedly admitted breaking the phone and offered to buy a new one, officers said.

Salineville

– Nicol Richter, East Main Street, was taken into custody without incident at her home Friday on a county warrant for failure to appear.

– Several residents reported at 3:10 p.m. Friday trash and other refuse found at a Market Street residence, which according to them has been an ongoing issue. A police order to clean the premises was issued, and the department is attempting to contact the owner to ensure a successful conclusion to the problem.

– An officer spoke with Saundra Newhouse, High Street, on Sunday regarding a complaint from a neighbor of excessive refuse around Newhouse’s front yard. Newhouse agreed to clean up the yard within the next 10 days.

Salem

– Marci Mancuso-Kirkpatrick, 29, of Youngstown, was cited for driving under suspension after police were called at 12:49 p.m. Tuesday to assist the county Drug Task Force with a traffic stop at South Ellsworth and East Wilson. The license plates came back from the state with orders to confiscate them and the operator was suspended. The plates were taken and the vehicle was towed.

– An anonymous caller at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday reported a main door open on a house on Third Street, east of Highland Avenue. Police found all doors shut on the house in question.

– Police responded to a domestic in the 2000 block of Monroe at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday where two male residents were arguing. Nothing physical occurred. They were arguing over an incident that occurred the night before when one of them had been drinking and tried cutting himself several times in the bathtub. Officers called KLG and the male in question was voluntarily transported to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

– A man in the 200 block of Woodland Avenue reported at 7:42 a.m. Tuesday that he and his wife are getting divorced and one of her family members keeps getting involved. An officer will try to make contact with all parties.

– An officer on patrol a 4:40 a.m. Tuesday saw a person walking near the railroad crossing on South Ellsworth Avenue. The person was told to stay off of Norfolk Southern property and was advised of the consequences if it happens in the future.

– Officers responded at 11:19 p.m. Monday to the 2000 block of Monroe for a missing adult. A person had left the residence within the hour and was heavily intoxicated and not properly clothed for the elements. The person was not found after a search of the area.

– Police were called at 10:24 p.m. Monday to the 800 block of East Third Street for a noise disturbance. When officers arrived, the woman who called said someone was knocking on her door and yelling. An officer checked around, but didn’t find anyone.

– A suspicious odor was reported in the 500 block of East State Street at 10:19 p.m. Monday, but officers didn’t detect anything.

– A man in the 1000 block of North Lincoln reported at 9:39 p.m. Monday that he and his significant other were arguing and he told officers he wanted to harm himself. Police called for fire department first responders and EMS and he was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG.

– A case of animal neglect was alleged at 8:43 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of South Lincoln. Officers checked the animal and found him to have proper shelter. The humane officer will be contacted to check on the animal.

– An employee of Gene’s Drive Thru, 1750 E. State St., called at 7:38 p.m. Monday about a possible theft. A man entered the store and was walking around, then opened two bottles of alcohol and it appeared he drank from one of the bottles. Then he picked up an unopened bottle and purchased it. When asked, he denied opening and drinking from a bottle. When the employee was able, he checked the security video footage which showed the person opening the bottles. He said he’ll speak to the owner to see if charges will be filed.

– Officers responded to a business in the 500 block of East State Street for an alarm and learned an employee found the rear door unlocked and when he looked inside, the alarm sounded. The owner verified the identification of the employee. The interior was checked and nothing was amiss.

– Police responded at 5:19 p.m. Monday to the employee parking lot of a business near the area of Newgarden Avenue and the railroad crossing due to alleged threats toward an employee leaving from work. Officers stood by and there were no problems.

– A resident on Granite Street reported at 5:18 p.m. Monday that a person plowing at a nearby residence plowed along the street in front of his home and a substantial amount into his front lawn, causing damage to the lawn. Officers will attempt to contact the person. The resident said it has happened several times previously.

– Officers responded at 4:50 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of Jennings Avenue to check a residence where a neighbor noticed a garage door ajar. The resident was contacted and said the wind blew the door open.

– Officers were called at 4:08 p.m. Monday to Sparkle Market on South Lundy Avenue for a confused older man who could not remember where he lived. Officers obtained information for the man and were able to locate his address. They had him secure his vehicle and took him home and released him to his significant other.

– Austin Sudol, 19, of Homewood Avenue, was cited for failure to yield and driving under suspension after pulling the vehicle he was driving from the Wendy’s parking lot and striking a westbound vehicle driven by Jodie Mathey, 29, of Newgarden Avenue, at 3:37 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of East State Street. Mathey was taken by KLG to Salem Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.

– A woman at a Cleveland Street residence at 2:46 p.m. Monday reported someone took her guitar.

– A well-being check was requested at 2:44 p.m. Monday on Cleveland Street where a female resident said the male left before officers arrived. She tried to call him by phone but was unable to make contact.

– An ATV was reported in the road on West Fifth Street at 2:03 p.m. Monday. An officer found the ATV parked in a front yard and told the owner to keep it off the road.

County Sheriff

– David Tudor, Dutchtown School Road, Rogers, reported at 6:55 p.m. Friday his 12-year-old daughter was acting up and slamming doors at the house. When deputies arrived they found the bedroom door had been removed. The father and daughter were speaking before deputies left.

– Linda Naczas-Erhard, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, reported at 4:15 p.m. Saturday she believed Scott Best threw eggs at Lucinda Best’s vehicle. She told deputies she had recovered egg shells and she wanted deputies to fingerprint them. Deputies explained they were not in the position to fingerprint egg shells.

– Jona Snyder, Mountz Road, Minerva, reported at 7:03 p.m. Friday Angela French continually drives past her home screaming and calling her names in front of her children. Snyder claims it has been going on for the past couple years. On Thursday French was reportedly driving toward her on Mountz Road and swerved into her lane head-on.

– Josh Pence, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 1:25 a.m. Saturday a prowler fled from the area. Deputies searched the area, but found no one.

– Robert Weber, state Route 164, Salineville, reported at 8:13 a.m. Saturday someone broke into his shed sometime between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Missing items included 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch new and used copper tubing and 60-100 feet of three-strand No. 2 copper wire.

– A possible home invasion was reported at a Homeworth Road address in Knox Township at 2:06 a.m. Sunday. Deputies found Erica Rhome and her two friends outside in their socks and scared. They told deputies they heard a male voice and then the family cat began making noises and rustling around. They climbed out the window for fear of their own safety. Deputies checked the house thoroughly. A large cat jumped out of a closet when they opened it. Nothing else was found.

– David Kelley, Old Route 558, Salem, reported at 4:45 a.m. Sunday a tractor-trailer was stuck in the yard. Deputies found a Western Express semi truck driven by Ron K. Phillip of Nashville, Tenn., deep in the mud in front of the house. Phillp said he was following his GPS when he somehow got stuck.

Lisbon

– Stanley Cusick reported there was a strange-looking group of people hanging about the Playtown playground at 5:17 p.m. Saturday. He said there were five people wearing funny costumes who seemed to be taking photographs, and there also may be a knife involved. Police arrived but did not see anyone about.

– Sherry Pierson, West Lincoln Way, reported she was being threatened by the person who lives upstairs at 2 p.m. Friday.

– Police were asked to check on 426 N. Jefferson St. at 12:28 p.m. Thursday. No one was found at the home or in the garage.

– Police responded to a report of a fight outside the Days Inn at 2 a.m. Wednesday. Police arrived and were approached by two black males, one of whom had a large cut above his left eye. Isiah M. Bell, 18, of Cleveland, said he left his room and was walking toward the BP station to get something to eat when he was jumped by two white males dressed in black, one of whom hit him in the face with a pipe, while the other stole $10 from him. The other person with Bell, identified as Taurean Holt, said he was in his room at the time. An ambulance was summoned to transport Bell to the hospital to be stitched up.

– Police accompanied Greg Ebert to a residence on Harrison Street at 10:12 a.m. Friday to retrieve his personal belongings.

Columbiana

– Codie Scheffert, 23, Columbiana, was arrested for OVI following a traffic stop for driving left of center on Pittsburgh Street near Elm Street at 1:33 a.m. Sunday.

– John W. Smith, 60, Youngstown, was cited for driving under suspension and expired plates following a traffic stop on Salem Street near Elm at 2:58 a.m. Sunday.

– Howard Stoufer of Columbiana reported at 1:40 p.m. Sunday someone threw a cup of ice out of the window of a vehicle and it hit his vehicle while he was driving on Main Street.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called to 504 East Sixth Street Friday by Christian Byers, who reported that Jacob Lowther, 21, West Fourth Street, and Thomas E. Powell, 18, Duke Vodrey Road, had come into his apartment, beat him up and took DVDs, X-box and controllers. As officers were taking this report, another officer radioed that he was out with the two suspects by Rayl’s Market and Lowther had items reported stolen by Byers. According to reports, both men admitted going into Byers’ apartment, with Powell admitting holding Byers in a chokehold while Lowther robbed him. Both men were charged with robbery and obstructing official business.

– Called Sunday to check on a man sitting in a running truck in the former Thrifty City parking lot, officers reported finding Glenn G. Davis, 57, Darlington, Pa., apparently sleeping. When awakened, Davis was unsure why he was in the parking lot, then said it was perhaps due to seeing the MMA stickers in the window of Team Impact, because he is interested in MMA. He also told officers he had been in the area because he was at the racetrack where he collects used scratch-off tickets. He denied being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but said he did have a gun and tried to reach for it, according to reports. An officer removed a Nike bag from the passenger seat in which he found a loaded 9-mm pistol and a second loaded magazine as well as several knives. Davis advised he had a permit to carry a concealed weapon in Pennsylvania. He was charged with carrying a concealed weapon.

– Officers were called to Scotty’s Bar Saturday night for an intoxicated man causing problems and refusing to leave. They arrived to find Quayne D. Watkins, 40, East Ninth Street, arguing with the bartenders. Officers told Watkins several times to answer their questions and gather his belongings to leave but he reportedly swore at them and said he was going to “do what I want.” Asked if he had anything illegal in his possession, Watkins reportedly told the officers he had a little weed in his pocket, and they did, in fact, report finding suspected marijuana in his jeans pocket. Watkins was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication and possession of marijuana.

Chester arrest

Salem

– Officers were dispatched at 11:59 a.m. Monday for a missing girl near Centennial Park. She was found.

– Throughout the evening Sunday and during the early morning and late morning hours Monday, police helped enforce the city’s snow emergency parking ban, either having vehicles moved or having multiple vehicles towed.

– Police checked the 2800 block of East State Street at 10:29 p.m. Sunday for a single vehicle accident. The vehicle was found outside the city limits.

– Elton Elliott, 19, of 418 Columbia St., was cited for reasonable control after sliding off Prospect Street at 5:54 p.m. Sunday.

Perry Township

– Police were advised at 7:29 p.m. Sunday of a multiple-vehicle accident on the Cunningham Road hill between state Route 344 and Shining Tree Lane. There was no accident. Two vehicles had become stuck trying to get up the icy hill. They were able to continue after a township truck spread salt on the incline.

– A resident in the 900 block of Jones Drive reported loud music at 5:02 p.m. Sunday. An officer spoke to a homeowner and the volume was decreased. The music was barely audible from outside the garage, but the proximity of residences would make it noticeable to neighbors, the report said.

-Jeffrey Anderson, 51, of Warren, was cited for reasonable control after he failed to make the turn on U.S. 62 at state Route 14 and hit a tree at 1:45 a.m. Sunday.

– Zachary Markovich, 21, of Poland, was cited for reasonable control after wrecking at 10:44 p.m. Saturday on North Lincoln.

– Scott Bender Jr., 28, of Lisbon, was taken into custody for felony fleeing and eluding and multiple driving infractions after a high-speed chase at 2:05 a.m. Saturday. Police tried to stop the vehicle which was traveling northbound on South Lincoln, then the vehicle accelerated and turned onto Snyder Road, then south on Depot, failing to stop at the stop sign, then failing to stop at the red light at Depot and the bypass, traveling through the intersection at 70 mph. At Depot and state Route 172, the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and traveled through the intersection at 85 mph, then failed to stop at the stop sign at U.S. 30, crossed the intersection and drove into the yard of a church, becoming stuck as it tried to get back on the road.

– Police responded to Quaker Mfg. at 3:28 p.m. Friday for a disgruntled employee who had just been advised of a layoff and refused to leave the premises. The person allegedly threatened other employees prior to leaving the building and was gone upon police arrival.

Goshen Police District

– Erik D. O’Brien, 36, 2410 Brayton Ave., Alliance, was cited for right of way at stop signs at 6:06 a.m. Friday. She failed to yield at the state Routes 534 and 14 intersection and hit a vehicle driven by Samuel R. Taylor, 28, Salem.

– Domingo Vega, 32, Youngstown, was cited for driving under suspension and traveling left of center after a traffic stop on U.S. 62 near Calla at 1:10 a.m. Saturday.

– Kevin E. Kirby, 40, 39060 Forrest St., Lisbon, was cited for driving under suspension after an officer responded to a suspicious driver in the area of U.S. 62 and Calla Road at 12:40 p.m. Sunday in which the driver was slumped over the wheel. Kirby told the officer that the car had broken down and that he was fine, the caller probably having seen him bent over texting the owner of the car.

– Emily Richards, 17, Sue Drive, Lisbon, was northbound on Steubenville Pike in Center Township at 7 p.m. Wednesday when she went off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch, came back across going off the right side of the roadway and struck a fence. She went to Salem Regional Medical Center with minor injuries and was cited reasonable control.

East Palestine

– Alicia Biser, West Martin Street, reported at 9 a.m. Saturday a woman in gray sweatpants and a blue coat was in front of Dollar General begging for money. Police found the woman, Amy Mathey, West Main Street, coming out of McDonald’s. She was warned not to beg for money again.

Columbiana

– A man reported a reckless driver at 5:35 a.m. Saturday driving into town from the North Lima direction on state Route 164.

– A Village Court woman reported at 8:26 a.m. Saturday she just put batteries into her carbon monoxide alarms and they keep going off. She asked for someone from the fire department to come check them.

– Sandra Byers, Stonehaven Drive, reportedly was backing from her driveway at 9:33 a.m. Saturday and struck a parked vehicle owned by Terry George of Salem.

– A Windrose Court woman reported at 9:34 a.m. Saturday her power was out, but she then hung up before any additional information could be obtained. Police found a tripped breaker and was able to get her power restored.

– Someone from Comp Co. Industries reported at 10:07 a.m. Saturday a theft had occurred sometime overnight. The matter is under investigation.

– James Carns, North Main Street, reported at 2:42 p.m. Saturday he was having a problem with his girlfriend and wanted police to stand by while she got some items from the apartment.

– A woman reported at 4:11 p.m. Saturday a stop sign was down at the intersection of West Salem Avenue and North Vine Street. The street department was contacted to replace the sign.

– Beaver Township police reported at 6:18 p.m. Saturday someone called them about a recklessly driven dark pickup southbound on state Route 46 from state Route 165. Police checked the area, but did not find the pickup.

– A Fairfield School Road woman reported at 6:34 p.m. Saturday she heard what sounded like gunshots in the 900 block. Police both sat stationary in the area and checked around, but did not find anyone shooting.

– A reckless driver was reported going northbound on state Route 164 at 7:09 p.m. Saturday in a green Ford Taurus. Police checked the area, but had no contact with the vehicle.

Salem Township

– The township road superintendent reported at 1:56 p.m. Wednesday someone had crashed on Eagleton Road, damaging several sections of guardrail and posts. An investigation revealed Ryan Roppolo of Rootstown, driving for Republic Services, was southbound on Eagleton Road just south of Teegarden Road earlier that morning when he slid on snow and ice while attempting to get a garbage truck up the hill. The truck slid backwards into the guardrail. There was no damage to the truck.

Salem

– Officers responded to the Salem Regional Medical Center at 7:43 a.m. Saturday for a report of an irate patient. When officers arrived, hospital staff told them the patient had calmed down and was pacing in his room waiting for his discharge papers. The officers stood by to make sure there were no further problems.

– Police responded to a 400 block North Lincoln Avenue home at 2:59 p.m. Saturday where a man said someone overnight had stolen multiple battery operated tools, four unopened rolls of copper wire and two tool pouches with miscellaneous tools, all totaling $3,400.

– Police responded to an East Perry Street home at 12:10 a.m. Sunday where a resident reported her step-son had kicked and punched holes in a wall. The juvenile told officers that he had become upset and was wrestling with his younger brother regarding video games. The younger brother confirmed the story and they were told to stay away from each other for the night.

– Officers responded to domestic dispute in the 600 block of Prospect Street at 12:27 a.m. Sunday and found a verbal dispute. The individuals involved were told to stay away from each other for the night.

– Clint H. Gaskill, 36, 4383 Hawkins Road, New Waterford, was charged with fictitious plates after a traffic stop at North Ellsworth and Fifth at 1:34 a.m. Sunday.

– Police responded to a report of possible juveniles pushing a snowmobile in the roadway in the area of New Garden Avenue and Arch Street at 3:20 a.m. Sunday. The juveniles said they were working on the vehicle and needed to wash it down. They were arrested on an unruly offense and released to a parent.

– An officer responded to the 1000 block of Cleveland Street at 10:19 a.m. Sunday where a resident reported someone had pulled a vehicle into a driveway across the street then placed something in the mailbox. The officer discovered a hand written letter in the mailbox but was unable to find the vehicle.

– Diana L. Andre, 35, 294 Brooklyn Ave., Salem, was arrested at her home at 11:36 a.m. Sunday on a warrant out of the sheriff’s office for failure to appear.

– Myrna J. Crawford, 75, 16084 Cannons Mill Road, East Liverpool, was cited for assured clear distance following a two-vehicle crash in which she was northbound on South Lincoln Avenue and failed to stop for traffic at the Franklin Avenue light, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Mary A. Manning, 65, Salem. No injuries were reported.

Salem

– Firefighters responded to 800 Pennsylvania Ave. for a fire alarm activation at 8:55 p.m. Friday, but found not smoke or sign of fire. An investigation determined a fork lift had struck a pull station which caused the alarm to activate.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– David Tudor, Dutchtown School Road, Rogers, reported at 6:55 p.m. Friday his 12-year-old daughter was acting up and slamming doors in his residence. A deputy noticed the daughter’s bedroom door was removed, and Tudor said he removed it so that she would stop slamming the door. Both father and daughter resolved their issues with a deputy present.

– Jona Snyder, Mountz Road, Minerva, reported at 7:03 p.m. Friday that a woman, Angela French, keeps driving past her house and yells Snyder’s name in front of her children. Snyder said the harassment has been happening for years, and that a day before, as Snyder was driving on Mountz Road, French swerved into Snyder’s lane head on.

– Josh Pence, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, reported at 1:25 a.m. Saturday a prowler fleeing from the address. Deputies searched at the address, but found no one.

– Robert Weber, state Route 164, Salineville, reported at 8:13 a.m. Saturday someone broke into the man door of his shed sometime between 9:30 p.m. Friday and 1:30 a.m. Saturday, and stole copper tubing and well was 60-100 foot of copper wire.

– Linda Naczas-Erhard, Tomahawk Drive, Negley, reported at 4:15 p.m. Saturday she believed that someone she knows threw eggs at Lucinda Best’s vehicle. Erhard said nobody saw him, but she thought it was him. She recovered the egg shells from the vehicle, but a deputy advised her the office was not in the position to fingerprint egg shells. Lake Tomahawk security was also advised of the matter.

Highway Patrol

– Kenneth A. Burbick, 47, Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, was initially traveling north on Smith Road in St. Clair Township at 4:02 p.m. Tuesday before he stopped and backed up, hitting John D. Hall, 46, Smith Road, Negley, who was traveling north. Burbick was cited for improper starting and backing.

– Shelbie N. McCoy, 21, Bell School Road, East Liverpool, was traveling west on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when she struck a deer.

– Noah F. Thornton, 25, Warren, was traveling east on Middle Beaver Road in Elkrun Township at 7:15 p.m. Thursday when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail and tree. Thornton was cited for failure to control.

– Danielle L. Grodhaus, 37, Toronto, was traveling west on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 12:19 a.m. Thursday and missed a curve to the right, causing her to drive off the left side of the road, and strike a street sign, guardrail and fence. Grodhaus then reportedly fled the scene, but was found and cited for failure to control and an expired license.

– Courtney Lynn Madison, 21 Grafton Road, Leetonia, was traveling north on state Route 164 in Fairfield Township at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday when she lost control on the snow/slush covered road and slid left of center, striking Ralph A. Ammon, 37, Steubenville Pike, Lisbon, who was traveling south. Madison was cited for failure to control. Ammon, meanwhile, was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center for possible injuries.

– Kyle D. Widlicka, 21, Yates Road, Salem, was traveling west on state Route 172 in West Township at 9 a.m. Wednesday when he slid off the right side of the road and overturned before coming to rest on its left side. Widlicka was cited for failure to control. The patrol noted that road conditions were poor at the time with snow covering up tracks throughout the morning.

– Tammy J. Hively, 39, Georgetown Road, North Georgetown, was traveling north on Westville Lake Road in Knox Township at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday when she drove off the right side of the road and hit a guard rail. She was cited for failure to control.

– Jason A. Jenkins, 32, Canton, was traveling west on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a sign and several trees. Jenkins was cited for failure to control.

– Brandon Michael Kupka, 18, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was traveling north on state Route 164 in Center Township at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday when he went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole. Kupka, who was treated at the scene for a minor injury, was cited for failure to control.

– Dewey J. May, 49, Burtview Place, Salem, was traveling north on state Route 45 in Center Township at 6:30 p.m. Monday when he hit a deer.

Columbiana

– Donna Duckworth, 56, Lower Elkton Road, Leetonia, reported she was traveling east on East Park Avenue around 9:29 a.m. Friday and stopped at the stop sign when her rear bumper was scraped by Derick Myer, who veered off left as Duckworth waited at the stop sign, to turn left onto state Route 14. After speaking with her husband, Duckworth then contacted police about the accident.

– Joseph D. Mong, 64, state Route 344, Salem, was traveling west on state Route 14 in the area of Timberline Drive at 6:35 p.m. Friday when he hit a deer.

Salem

– Officers responded to the 100 block of South Union Avenue at 12:11 p.m. Friday in reference to a green colored vehicle with possible drugs inside, but were unable to find the vehicle.

– An officer responded to a suspicious vehicle in an East State Street parking lot at 1:34 p.m. Friday and found two occupants who said they were just talking while waiting for a tanning appointment.

– A Washington Street man reported on station at 4:21 p.m. Friday being harassed via cell phone by a man whom he had already told to stop contacting him.

– Officers responded to the 2500 block of Lexington Avenue at 6:59 p.m. Friday in reference to a missing juvenile and found the child in a parking lot. The child was returned home and evaluated by first responders.

– Police responded to a suspicious sound outside a 200 block Ohio Avenue home at 7:32 p.m. Friday, but were unable to find anything wrong.

– Rafael Marcos Sanchez, 27, 112 E. Fourth St., was cited for no operator’s license and speed following a traffic stop on West State Street near Georgetown Road at 2:48 a.m. Saturday.

– A West Seventh Street resident reported at 10:59 a.m. Saturday that he received a call from someone stating his granddaughter had been in accident and was in jail, and requesting $4,500 on nine Reloadit cards. The resident said he did what the person advised, then realized it was a scam when the person called back requesting more money.

– A woman reported on station at 11:53 a.m. Saturday that two people were at her business the previous night causing problems and making threats and that she did not want them to return. Officers found the two individuals were from out of state and already on their way home.

– Rande Miller, Stookesberry Road, Lisbon, reported at 8 a.m. Friday her three- and four-year-old daughters were threatened by their 11-year-old stepbrother while visiting at their father’s home on state Route 45 in Madison Township on Thursday.

– Etta Lilly, Scott Drive, Alliance, reported at 2 p.m. Thursday her 14-year-old grandson received threatening and racist Instagram messages.

Lisbon

– Police responded to a disturbance outside a house on West Lincoln Way at 9:32 p.m. Thursday and found Matt Holland, who was waiting on his son after his son reported having problems with his mother. The mother, Candy Kibler, was charged with public intoxication/disorderly conduct.

Columbiana

– A Wine Connection employee reported at 8:37 a.m. Thursday they received a $50 counterfeit bill on Monday.

– Robert Gener, North Cross Court, reported fraud on his bank account at 4:26 p.m. Thursday.

– Eugene Beaver, Spruce Street, reqported at 11:33 p.m. Thursday he needed Brenda Carder removed from his home as she was not wanted there and was refusing to leave. Police warned Carder for criminal trespassing and the left.

East Liverpool

– A warrant for the arrest of a Lynn Street woman is pending after police reported she purchased prescriptions at the Giant Eagle pharmacy with a counterfeit $20 bill. According to reports, several police agencies have reported the same person having passed fake bills to merchants, and Wellsville police are filing charges against her. Until the warrant is served, she is not being identified.

– While trying to make a right-hand turn from Peach Alley onto Summit Alley, John H. Smith, 67, Youngstown, reportedly struck a guard pole, backed up and struck the pole again, backed again, striking a parked car owned by Walter Gatrell, West Sixth Street. Smith was driving a vehicle owned by Second Harvest Food Bank, according to reports. No charges were reported.

Wellsville

– Lee Wyant reported Friday someone entered a trailer Wednesday which is owned by Superior Beverage, Cleveland that was parked at Save-A-Lot, taking $400 worth of beer. Twelve cases were recovered that day. On Friday, the trailers were broken into again, with an unknown amount taken.

– Julie Coleman, Mick Road, Wellsville, reported a zippered wallet was taken out of her vehicle while it was parked at 7th and Main streets. The wallet was located between the front seats, but its missing contents will be inventoried by the owner.

– Heather Joy, 15th Street, called Thursday asking to have her husband, Chris, removed from the home, saying he had been calling her names. Officers responded and told Mrs. Joy they could not make her husband leave the home. There was no evidence of physical violence, and Mrs. Joy said there was none. Mr. Joy agreed to leave on his own.

– Rodger Miller, no address listed, reported he was turning from state Route 45 onto the state Route 7 southbound on-ramp when his vehicle struck the guardrail.

– Justin Crabtree, Lincoln Avenue, reported his Mustang struck by a hit-skip vehicle in front of his home Jan. 16.

– Called Jan. 14 to the Busy Bee Lounge for a disturbance, officers found a man slumped over the steering wheel of a truck at the rear of the establishment, trying to insert the key into the ignition. He smelled of alcohol and had blood on his face and was asked the whereabouts of the other man involved with him in a reported fight, but he said he didn’t know. He was charged with suspicion of physical control.

– Diana Mayfield, Ridge Avenue, called Jan. 16 to have a man she knows removed from her residence because he was intoxicated and argumentative. Officers did not find him in the residence and advised Mayfield to keep her doors locked.

– Patricia Witson, 15th Street, reported Jan. 17 that Chris Joy came to her home, yelling at her to come out and fight his wife, Heather and also yelling racial slurs at her. Officers spoke with the Joys, who said Witson had been calling their home, threatening Mrs. Joy. All parties were advised to have no contact with each other.

– A delivery driver for Wolf’s Den Pizza reported Jan. 16 a woman used two $20 bills to purchase pizza, which she asked to have delivered to Gibby’s Mini Mart. At the store, the woman was outside and handed him the two bills, which he swiped with his counterfeit detection pen. In the poor lighting, the driver, Harold Fike Jr., was unable to see the indicator mark and didn’t realize they were fake until he returned to the interior of the market. Officers attempted to contact the residents of the home the woman had gone toward, to no avail. They showed Fike a photo lineup and he was able to positively identify a woman as the one who gave him the bills. He advised he will be responsible for the $40 in lost revenue and asked that the woman be made to reimburse him when prosecuted.

– Allen Jakes Jr., no age or address listed, reported he was in My Bar, Main Street when a man began harassing people then came over and asked if Jakes knew who he was and poked him in the face. The bartender told Jakes to handle the man himself. Reports did not indicate if Jakes did so, just that officers responded to the bar and that Jakes said he did nothing wrong.

– Officers were advised by a passing motorist Jan. 17 that a man and woman were arguing in front of the Busy Bee. Tammy Kent told them her boyfriend Ralph Allgood was arguing with her and calling her names, took her keys and went back inside the bar to prevent the argument from escalating. Allgood told officers that Kent slapped him in the face but he didn’t want to file charges. Kent then changed her story, according to officers, telling them Allgood slapped her first. Officers advised Kent she needs to stay away from Allgood, and she agreed to stay with her aunt for the night.

– Gary Lutton, Papa Johns manager, reported he delivered a pizza to 417 18th Street and a woman met him on the sidewalk, handing him two counterfeit $20 bills. When he told her they were fake, the woman said she would be right back then took off into the alley.

Salem

– At 3:18 a.m. Friday, police responded to the 500 block of Bank Street where an intoxicated female wanted a person removed and after speaking to both sides, the man left for the night.

– Police responded to the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 4:12 p.m. Thursday for a possible domestic dispute. The complainant advised he observed a woman yelling from a vehicle to a man walking in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street. The complainant advised they both left the area and the man went into a business on North Lincoln Avenue and police were unable to locate him.

– At 6:58 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the hospital regarding an irate patient and found the man had become aggressive and assaulted a staff member. Security restrained him and he was calming down. Charges are pending.

– At 10:25 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 600 block of East 6th Street for a report of a fight and determined it was among friends and verbal only.

– A complainant was on station at 1:54 p.m. Thursday with her daughter reporting that two others females were harassing her on a social media webpage. It was ongoing between the three and police spoke to one female and advised her to delete them from her account so she won’t receive their messages.

– Police responded to the hospital at 3:10 p.m. Thursday where a staff member advised a man who was brought in earlier had a spoon and clear plastic wrap with an unknown substance in it that was forwarded the the BCI&I.

– At 9:35 a.m Thursday, police responded to the 900 block of East 5th Street where a motorist in a red Dodge truck drove off without paying for $19 in gas. A vehicle registration was obtained and an officer checked the area and the residence where the owner lived but was unable to locate the person.

Goshen Police District

– Ronald Lee Roepke III, 24, 1080 N. Lincoln Ave., Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in Goshen Township at 9:01 a.m. Wednesday in which he was westbound on state Route 165 just past state Route 45 when he lost control of his vehicle, began to spin and struck the ditch on the south side of the roadway facing oncoming traffic. No injuries were reported.

– Sharon L. Daley, 67, 8800 Cook Road, Berlin Center, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in Goshen Township at 10:19 a.m. Wednesday in which she was eastbound on state Route 14 just past Duck Creek Road when she lost control of her vehicle, struck a guardrail and slid into a ditch. No injuries were reported.

– Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:46 a.m. Wednesday on state Route 165 east of state Route 14 in which a westbound vehicle driven by Michael J. Pokego, 38, East Palestine, lost traction on the slick roadway, causing it to spin and strick a ditch. No injuries were reported and no citation issued.

County Sheriff

– Leslie Pitts, Knox School Road, Minerva, reported Dec. 26 someone stole several power tools from his garage sometime Dec. 23, and that he believed it was his grandson Joe Green and ex-son-in-law Joe Green Sr., and their friend Branson Poole. A deputy visited Joe Green at the Stark County jail on Jan. 7 and Green said the stolen items were located on U.S. 30 in Minerva, which was where he was staying until his incarceration. The items were turned over to a deputy by the resident.

Highway Patrol

– Joel M. Cohn, 37, Youngstown, was southbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 7:25 a.m. Monday and spun clockwise off the right side into a ditch and a tree. He was cited for failure to control.

– Josie L. Murray, 34, Bye Road, East Palestine, was westbound on Crestview Road in Fairfield Township at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday and hit a deer.

– Carolyn S. Walter, 49, Emerick Road, Kensington, was eastbound on state Route 518 in Franklin Township at 1 p.m. Tuesday and slid off the right side into a guardrail and overturned. She was cited for failure to control.

– Sandra Lee Daugherty, 52, Yeager Drive, Wellsville, was southbound on state Route 7 in Middleton Township at 11:34 a.m. Wednesday and lost control on ice and slid off the east side into a ditch.

– Karen L. Sprouse, 53, Scotts Mill Road, Rogers, was westbound on Pancake-Clarkson Road in Middleton Township at 11 a.m. Wednesday and attempted to turn right onto Union Ridge Road and went off the west side of Union Ridge Road into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

– Lawrence Thomas Andrew, 67, Chester, W.Va., was southbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 10:15 p.m. Jan. 16 and hit a deer.

– Richard L. Bell III, 40, Morris Road, Lisbon, was northeastbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday and a southwestbound vehicle went left of center into his vehicle causing him to go off the west side of the road into a guardrail. The other vehicle continued on.

Lisbon

– Michelle Smith reported seeing a female stumbling down the road on South Lincoln at 8:18 p.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area but did not find the person.

– An officer assisted a sheriff’s deputy in serving a protection order on Greg Ebert, Harrison Street, at 8 p.m. Jan. 16. Ebert gathered his belongings and left the property without incident.

– A caller reported a teenager without any coat sitting on the hillside across from Pondi’s at 8:33 p.m. Jan. 18. Police and a sheriff’s deputy checked the area but did not find anyone.

– Renee Ebert asked for a police escort to her home on Harrison Street at 11 a.m. Jan. 18, which the officer did without incident.

– Police responded to a home burglary alarm at 901 N. Market St. at 11:08 a.m. Jan. 18. The home was found secure but no one was home, and someone with a key was contacted.

– Jerry Holden, Pendleton Street, called with a question about a parked vehicle at 1 p.m. Jan. 19. Police deter-mined the vehicle had valid plates and was legally parked.

– Police accompanied Mike Malone to a home North Jefferson while he retrieved paperwork at 5:11 p.m. Jan. 19.

– A home security alarm went off at the Jerry Toot residence on Pendleton Street at 2:28 p.m. Jan. 7. Police found the home to be secure.

– Jordan Alicea, West Pine Street, reported Jan. 18 being assaulted by her roommate, Zachery Strub, after she slapped him for allegedly picking up her puppy by its ears. She said Strub struck her several times in the face, leaving her with a swollen eye and inflamed lips. Strub was gone by the time police arrived, and Alicea was told to return to the police department to make a full statement after obtaining medical treatment at a local hospital.

-Jordan Alicea, West Pine, reported on Tuesday finding the lock on a window was broken. Nothing was missing.

– Janice Exline, West High Street, reported Tuesday someone stole items she kept stored in her garage. The stolen items included two saws and a weed eater, but one of the saws was later returned covered in ice.

– Police found five vehicles parked illegally on East Chest-nut on Tuesday afternoon, and the owners were told to move them, which they did.

– A caller reported there was a possible fire near the high school at 11:53 a.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area and found smoke coming from a house chimney.

Columbiana

– Ralph Spotleson, Leetonia, was northbound on South Main at 7:13 a.m. Wednesday and Jason Leigh, Columbiana, was westbound on Duquesne and failed to control his vehicle on ice and ran through the stop sign into Spotleson. Leigh was cited for failure to control.

– Marathon reported at 9:28 a.m. Wednesday receiving a counterfeit $50.

Kelly Wells reported at 10:26 a.m. Wednesday a refrigerator was stolen from a house on Duquesne owned by the bank she works for.

– Police checked on a report of a crash at the Y on West Park at 10:58 a.m. Wednesday but the vehicle was already gone.

– Beau Graham, West Park Avenue, reported at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday his girlfriend was flipping out and throwing things all over the place. Police found the two were involved in a verbal dispute only and the girl left the home to stay at a friend’s house.

Salineville

– Charles C. Earich, 36, was arrested on Jan. 16 at a Wood Street house after a county warrant for failure to appear for OVI second offense. Earich also faces charges of obstructing official business for running and hiding from officers.

Salem

– An officer of Homeland Security requested an officer assist him at 11:49 a.m. Thursday in interviewing a victim of fraud at a North Union Avenue address.

– Mark Conroy, 45, 1207 E. Third St., was charged with disorderly conduct after an officer at 2:05 a.m. Thursday saw a man stagger across the lot of Speedway and nearly fall into traffic on West State before catching himself by bear-hugging a light pole. He was intoxicated .

– Amanda Jones, East Sixth Street, reported at 6:44 p.m. Wednesday her silver Dodge 4×4 was parked on East State when its mirror was hit by another vehicle mirror.

– Jason Sorrentino, 30, of 637 Woodland Ave., was charged with domestic violence, a fifth-degree felony, and taken to jail after a fight with his wife and another man at a home on East Third Street at 4:27 p.m. Wednesday.

– Ryan Lujan, 21, of West Fourth Street, was cited for failure to yield after he collided with a vehicle driven by Randolph Strader, 71, of McCracken Road, at the intersection of the George Wallace Parkway and Pennsylvania Avenue at 12:09 p.m. Wednesday.

– Smith Oil, East State, reported at 10:29 a.m. Wednesday a woman driving a blue Range Rover prepaid for $13 worth of gas but pumped $25.21 and left.

– Police were called at 8:31 a.m. Wednesday to Woodland Avenue where the homeowner said her brother’s son has been staying with her and a Buckeye Online School computer was taken. They think man who lives on state Route 644 pawned it.

Perry Township

– A West Pidgeon resident who was not named reported a stolen firearm Tuesday.

East Liverpool

– Officers responded to a call on Trentvale Street where Anthony Terrell, no age listed, said he was talking to his baby mama in Cleveland when his girlfriend smacked him in the face. The girlfriend denied hitting Terrell but admitted knocking the phone out of his hand. Terrell was advised how to file charges with the law director if he so desired and was given a ride to his apartment on Lincoln Avenue.

– Thomas D. Picklesimer, address not listed, reported seeing a woman he knows throwing a shovel through one of his windows when he denied her access to his home. The woman denied this, telling officers she had not even been at the house.

– Joseph Armstrong, Pennsylvania Avenue, reported a Gravely tractor with a 54-inch mower and professional snowblade stolen.

– Officers responded to Heights Manor for a report of a possible domestic, where Maroda Dobritz said the male with whom she had been arguing had already left.

– Dollar General employees reported a man wearing all black was seen shoving items into his shoes and clothing and leaving without paying.

– A Wolf’s Den employee reported a woman paid for a pizza with two counterfeit $20 bills. Officers were unable to locate the woman.

Lisbon

– The fire department was called to provide lift assistance at a home on North Market at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– Bob Nolder, Woodsdale Road, Hanoverton, reported a shooting incident at 10:35 a.m. Friday. A deputy and Sheriff Ray Stone arrived and sat in the driveway for a few minutes, but heard no gunshots in the immediate area. One deputy heard one gunshot far off to the north and no livestock in the area seemed fazed by the noise.

– K-9 Jesy assisted the patrol searching for a man who fled following a traffic stop on state Route 154 on Jan. 15. He fled through a wooded area, in the area around homes, through an additional wooded area, a creek, along a railroad track and about three-fourths of a mile later eventually came out on state Route 170, where it is believed the man may have gotten a ride. The man has been identified as Ben Goins.

– Shirley Hackney, Hazel Run Road, Salineville, reported at 8:54 a.m. Friday her son has not come home or gone to school since Jan. 13. He has contacted her and she believed he was safe and in East Liverpool somewhere.

– Jerrod Butts, Campbell Road, Kensington, reported at 11:33 a.m. Jan. 15 someone stole rims and tires from his car. He was gone for two days and found the items missing when he came back. The rims were Summit Legend Five, five-spoke polished aluminum.

– Virginia Gerner, Bye Road, East Palestine, reported at 4:06 p.m. Tuesday she had placed mail in her box the night before and was contacted by the mail carrier, who said her flag was up but the mail was gone.

– Harry Stewart, Cleveland, reported at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday someone may be trespassing at his deceased mother’s home on Lisa Lane. He received an electric bill for more than $200 and believes someone was living there. Deputies checked the home and found the breaker is off at the utility pole. They turned the breaker back on and found water running from a broken pipe under the home. They turned the breaker back off and made certain the home was secured.

– Tammy Mason, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, reported her daughter’s husband stole $100 from her purse, but her daughter stuck up for him and a fight began. Both the daughter and her husband left before deputies arrived. The son-in-law, Thomas Ripley, was found to have a warrant for failure to appear on an underage consumption charge. He was walking with his wife on County Home Road and taken into custody. Deputies found no money on him.

– Christina Schubert, South 12th Street, Beloit, reported at 7:53 p.m. Tuesday, she could hear yelling next door at an abandoned trailer. Deputies checked the vacant trailer, but found no one.

Lisbon

– A man was reported riding a child’s toy on the road at 6:03 p.m. Monday. He was found on a sidewalk with a child’s electric car. He agreed not to go on the roadway.

– Derek Steven Green, 24, Bricker Farm Lane, Salem, and Rebecca S. Dickson, 35, Malone Road, Salineville, were southbound on North Market Street at 4:10 p.m. Monday when Green stopped to turn left into Valley View. He was struck from behind by Dickson, who was cited for assured clear distance.

Columbiana

– The owner of Elegant Nails on West Friend Street reported at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday someone was possibly scamming areas businesses by taking a payment for advertisements that were never produced.

– Elizabeth Terry reported at noon Tuesday she was being stalked by someone at her place of employment on South Main Street.

– Rebecca Baker, Parkview Drive, reported at 2:18 p.m. Tuesday that sometime during the past couple of days someone turned on her outdoor faucet and left the water running.

– A Mr. Higbee, address not listed, reported at 3 p.m. Tuesday he found a torn envelope in his mailbox with a bill and a check in it from an unknown person. Higbee provided the envelope to police, who contacted Arrow Disposal, the business the envelope was addressed to.

– A woman reported at 5:12 p.m. Tuesday a kid was riding a bicycle on the pond at Firestone Park. Police checked and did not see anyone riding on or near the pond.

– Matthew Charles Fay, 16, Garfield Road, was turning south onto South Avenue at 7 p.m. Tuesday from the Duke and Duchess and was struck by Kyle D. Maendel, 19, Garfield Avenue, Alliance, who was passing cars on the double yellow line while heading northbound on South Avenue. Maendel was cited for improper passing in hazardous zones.

– Joseph P. Ginocchi, Signal Road, reported at 7 p.m. Tuesday items were taken from his vehicle while it was parked in front of the Chinese restaurant on South Main Street.

– Police assisted a sheriff’s deputy with a call at 242 Brenda Lane at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday.

– A woman reported at 10 p.m. Tuesday a suspicious man was walking on Beechwood Avenue. The woman described the man as being in his 20s, 6 feet tall and wearing a black and blue hoodie. Police checked the area and surrounding areas but did not find anyone matching that description.

Salem

– A woman on West State Street at 5:58 a.m. Wednesday requested assistance in locating her adult daughter, reporting she received a call from her that she was having a possible medical issue while driving. She was on U.S. Route 62 traveling toward Damascus from Salem and she told her to pull to the side of the road. A Perry Township officer found her pulled into the parking lot of a car dealer. She was OK.

– Steve E. Wells Jr., 28, last known address 1240 Southeast Blvd., was charged with domestic violence after police were called at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of Southeast Boulevard for a fight/disturbance.

– Brittany Mitcham, 18, of Beloit, was cited for failure to yield after she struck a vehicle driven by Susan Yoho, 46, of Alliance, at the intersection of Aetna and Lincoln at 5:18 p.m. Tuesday.

– A phone found on South Broadway Tuesday was placed in the lost and found.

– An officer was called to a business in the 200 block of East State at 3 p.m. Tuesday to recover 10 movies that had been stolen from the library.

East Liverpool

– Mike Freeman, Jefferson Street, reported he and his girlfriend entered the living room to find a man going through their clothing on the floor. When Freeman pushed the man toward the door, he pulled out a knife, swiping it across Freeman’s stomach, causing a slight scratch. He fled on foot.

– Peggy L. Craig, Oakwood Street, reported that, for a couple of weeks, someone has been throwing things at her house and beating on the window. An officer found footprints around the house.

– Joseph Piscitani, owner, and Misty Bidwell, tenant, reported an electric meter vandalized at a home on East Ninth Street.

– Gloe Hull, Edgewood Street, reported a seven-inch RCA tablet taken from her home.

– Michele Kirbaugh, Blakeley Street, reported a man shot her dog with a BB gun, but the man told officers the dog was on his property. The gun was confiscated and information was forwarded to the law director for possible charges.

– Heather Potts, West Ninth Street, reported a man known to her had done a number of burn-outs in front of her home, then got out of his truck and was yelling into his phone.

– Officers responded to East Liverpool City Hospital where Douglas Barnes, 56, no address listed, was being treated for injuries he said were suffered when assaulted on Devon’s Diamond. Barnes told officers he was walking through the Diamond when three unknown men knocked him to the ground and kicked him several times.

– John P. Densmore, no address listed, reported he is overseeing the home of a deceased relative on Henry Avenue and it appeared the basement door was forced open. Nothing was missing.

– Patricia A. Flaherty, 45, Trentvale Street, was northbound on Dresden Avenue attempting a right turn onto Trentvale Street when she crossed the center line to the left, causing her vehicle to be struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Patricia P. Rothenberg, 83, Vine Street, East Palestine, who told officers she thought Rothenberg was turning left. Flaherty was cited for driving under suspension and was transported to the hospital by Lifeteam ambulance. Officers reported both drivers were advised they were at fault for the accident.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded to Walmart for a report of two shoplifters being apprehended and were told by loss prevention officers that Kenneth A. Bragg, 21, and Brad T. Dearth, 19, no addresses listed, had taken a car speaker without paying for it, returned it at the service desk for a store credit card then used the credit card to purchase several items. Both were charged with petty theft and served with no trespassing notices.

– Responding to a report of a suspicious car driving up and down Hickman Drive, an officer determined it was driven by a woman he knows. She was looking for her dog which was sick and had run off. The officer located the dog in a ditch and placed it in the owner’s car to be transported home.

– Virginia Conkle, Bell School Road, reported hearing someone around her house, but officers found no one after searching.

– Ronald Aughinbaugh, Rodaman Drive, reported purchasing a vehicle from a man and, when he tried to get license plates for it, learned a private loan company had placed a lien on the vehicle.

– Officers were called to the Carriage Hill Apartments by a repo man for Source One Repo, who said he had found a small baggie of suspected marijuana in the Jeep he was repossessing. The baggie was taken to the police station.

– A suspicious vehicle was reported driving slowly up and down Carroll Road, stopping twice in front of the caller’s home. The vehicle was not located by officers, who performed extra checks in the area throughout the night.

– A garage at 15859 Annesley Road was reported broken into and items stolen. A property owner was not identified in reports.

– David Young, Grimm’s Bridge Road, reported a suspicious box thrown over the hillside on his property. No other details were reported.

– Tracey L. Shields, Echo Dell Road, told officers she is receiving harassing texts and calls from a woman she knows regarding a 2013 incident when a heroin needle was shared with a man. She was advised to contact the law director and block the woman’s phone number.

– Christina Byers, Samuel Street, called officers to her home regarding a verbal argument with her son. Both agreed there would be no further problems after officers spoke with them.

– Cynthia Hooker, Irish Ridge Road, reported she believes an older man in a white van is stalking her.

– Cindy Davis, Creek Road, New Waterford, reported at 5:48 p.m. Sunday she lost her wallet while at a Carbon Hill Road address with her bank card, her Social Security card and the Social Security card of another person in the wallet.

– An assault was reported at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, which allegedly happened at the State Line Tavern in East Palestine. The matter is under investigation.

– Tiffany Styen, no address listed, reported at 12:44 p.m. Monday Rick Styen, state Route 558, New Waterford, will not give her visitation with her children. She was told to contact her attorney. Rick Styen called deputies to say he invited her to the house to see the children, but when she arrived she began screaming in front of them so he asked her to leave. His attorney then reportedly told him he did not have to allow her to see the children at all.

– Charlotte French, Virginia Avenue, Minerva, reported at 2:16 p.m. Monday she and her husband were having a domestic issue with her son, Phillip Ruiz, 41. He told deputies he was not afraid of them and threatened to kill his mother and her husband several times while deputies were present. He initially attempted to pull away from deputies, but eventually allowed himself to be cuffed after deputies prepared to use the taser. Ruiz was charged with domestic violence, aggravated menacing and resisting arrest.

– Michelle Weikart, Georgetown Road, Salem, reported at 4:08 p.m. Monday she left her house at Wayne McCasslin’s house and when she got it back it was missing her driver’s license, Social Security card, several other cards and her prescription for percocet.

– Mike Zehentbauer of Gause Equipment, state Route 172, Lisbon, reported at 8:11 a.m. Monday someone stole a 2011 Case Skid Steer from the lot during the weekend.

– Ken Bandy, Buck Road, Beloit, reported that sometime overnight Saturday someone blew up his mailbox. It is the second time it has happened in the last two months.

– Joseph Ray, the owner of Joe Ray’s Automotive, Campbell Road, Hanoverton, reported at 4:46 p.m. Monday someone claiming to be from American Electric Power contacted him and said he was behind on the electric bill and AEP was going to disconnect his power if the bill was not paid in 45 minutes. Ray told deputies he does not have AEP. Deputies are aware of a scam using the power company’s name.

– Susan Robbie, state Route 517, Lisbon, reported at 3:17 p.m. Monday a man in a black pickup stopped at her home asking where another address was on Route 517. He claimed he was there to pick up a door. She thought something sounded wrong and called deputies. Deputies checked with the registered owner of the pickup and he told them his brother-in-law borrowed the pickup to pick up a door. The story seemed to match and deputies called Robbie back to explain what they learned.

– Jason Blinkiewicz, Enon Valley, Pa., reported at 12:39 p.m. Monday five tarps were stolen overnight from his trucks, which were parked off Jimtown Road, East Palestine. The tarps were valued at about $1,000.

– Samuel French, state Route 172, Minerva, reported at 2:45 p.m. Monday Janette Goebbler, who lives across the field, came to his house asking for a blanket which belongs to their child. French would not let her in and she reportedly began beating on the door and popped out the door’s plexiglas window. French then left by another door and went across to his mother’s house nearby.

– Dorena McVay, state Route 164, Lisbon, reported at 7:32 p.m. Sunday her 16-year-old was being unruly. Deputies spoke to the teen, who said she and her mother had been arguing. Deputies talked to both of them about discussing their problems.

– Rachel Boley, South Market Street, East Palestine, reported at 4:40 p.m. Sunday she wanted deputies to check on two children at a state Route 14 house. Deputies spoke to the mother, who was being accused of using marijuana in front of her children and storing it in one of her children’s dressers. She believed the allegations were being made after her ex-husband was arrested earlier in the day and saw the allegations on Facebook. She allowed deputies to check her house and speak to her children. Nothing was found.

Highway Patrol

– Matthew R. Scott, 28, New Brighton, Pa., was northbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 7:50 a.m. Monday and went off the right side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Anthony K. Rice, 49, Moore Road, East Liverpool, was eastbound on East Liverpool Road in Madison Township at noon Tuesday and slowed to make a right turn into a private drive and was struck from behind by Jonathan L. Williams, 26, McIntosh Road, Wellsville. Williams was cited for assured clear distance.

– Ian W. McInnes, 31, East Main Street, Salineville, was southbound on state Route 164 in Washington Township at 10:56 p.m. Monday and hit a deer.

– Dylan J. Utt-Royer, 18, West Lincoln Way, Lisbon, was eastbound on state Route 517 in Fairfield Township at 8:15 a.m. Monday and went off the left side into a mailbox and a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Samantha Ann Miller, 22, state route 170, East Palestine, was eastbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 10:44 p.m. Sunday and went off the right side into a ditch and a stone well. She was cited for failure to control.

– Kevin C. Dettmer, 41, East Taggart Street, East Palestine, was westbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 5:24 a.m. Monday and went left of center off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Marie K. Samios, 38, Canfield, was westbound on U.S. 62 in Butler Township at 6:47 a.m. Monday and was struck by Laurie K. Suderman, 49, Sebring, who was eastbound and went left of center. After impact, Suderman then went off the road into a mailbox. Suderman was cited for failure to control and taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Frank David Williams, 60, Newell, W.Va., was northbound on state Route 45 in Center Township at 5:46 a.m. Monday and slid off the right side into a ditch.

– Benjamin G. Mercer, 29, state Route 46, New Waterford, was northbound on Hawkins Road in Unity Township at 9:55 p.m. Sunday and went off the left side into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

Center Township

– Chief Adam Little responded Jan. 8 after a truck broke down on U.S. 30 on the Canton Hill. While waiting on a tow, the driver got the truck running again and left.

– Sara Eason, Grant Street, reported Jan. 9 she was moving out and her mother would not give her her belongings. She was told it was civil matter.

– Matthew A. Leach, of Sidney, was turning into the Assembly of God on state Route 517 Jan. 9 and missed the driveway. A tow truck was needed.

– Brian Nestori, Glasgow Road, Salineville, reported Jan. 15 his girfriend assaulted him while they were in his vehicle parked at the pull-off a mile south of Lisbon. He did not want to file charges, just have a report made.

– Zakart J. Smith, West Washington Street, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on Mattix Road Satruday. Smith swerved to miss and deer, went off the south side of the road, over-corrected and then went off the north side, coming to rest in driveway.

– A South Washington Street man requested at 4:49 a.m. Saturday he be pink slipped because he was afraid he was going to hurt himself.

Columbiana

– Police went to a West Salem Street home at 4 a.m. Monday for a report of a domestic dispute. One of the residents agreed to leave for the night and no charges were filed.

– Timothy Skeates, West Salem Street, requested at 12:48 p.m. Monday police stand by while he retrieved some belongings from the West Salem Street home.

– Gillian Filaccio, Salem, was westbound on West Park at 3:13 p.m. Monday and struck Vera Bortmas, Washingtonville, who crossing Park onto North Pearl and failed to yield from a stop sign. Bortmas was cited for stop sign.

– Charles Miller, South Main Street, reported at 5:33 p.m. Monday scooters were stolen from his front porch.

Salem

– Linda DiRienzo, 62, of East Fourth Street, was cited for a stop sign violation after she hit a vehicle driven by Ronda Young, 46, of Oak Street, at the intersection of Peach Alley and South Lundy at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday.

– Police picked up a syringe that was found in the 800 block of East Third Tuesday morning.

– Scott Mingus, of J. Herbert Construction, 1350 Pennsylvania Ave., reported a breaking and entering at 7:27 a.m. Tuesday. The incident was under investigation.

– An employee of Turner Machine, 1433 Salem Parkway, reported at 7:14 a.m. Tuesday that someone broke into the business and stole several items.

– An girl was taken into custody on a curfew violation after found in a vehicle in Memorial Park at 1:14 a.m. Tuesday. She was released to her mother.

– A man reported at 8:07 p.m. Monday he was struck in the face while at a South Broadway bar.

– Cynthia Morrison, 46, East Fourth Street, was cited for improper backing on East State at North Madison at 6:18 p.m. Monday. She was stopped at the left and backed into a vehicle driven by Darlene Ramsey, 50, Monroe Avenue.

– A small metal pipe commonly used to smoke crack was found on New Garden Monday and turned over to police.

– An alleged rape reported at 12:41 p.m. Monday on Continental Drive is under investigation, with evidence gathered.

Perry Township

– A boy was charged with domestic violence and taken to the Tobin Center after police were called at 9:41 p.m. Monday to the 1500 block of North Lincoln. He had made physical threatening gestures toward a parent.

– Jonathan Fish, 35, of Salem, was cited for reasonable control at 9 a.m. Monday. He turned south onto the bypass from state Route 14, slid on the ice and hit a vehicle driven by Thomas Crawford, 67, of Salem, which was stopped in traffic.

– Ronald Husem II, 27, of Youngstown, was cited for assured clear distance on U.S. 62 at 7:11 a.m. Monday. He could not stop in time and hit the rear of a vehicle driven by Josiah Petkus, 22, of Poland, which was stopped in traffic.

Jefferson County

– Sheriff’s deputies Sunday arrested Gerald Rexroad, 36, Wellsville on a fugitive from justice warrant from Hancock County, W.Va.

County Sheriff

– Kristopher Cibula, Hazel Run Road, Hammondsville, reported at 10:47 a.m. Sunday he was assaulted by Luke Nixon while dropping his children off at his ex-girlfriend’s home on state Route 154 in Elkrun Township. Nixon reportedly came from behind him, pulled his sweatshirt up over his head, tacked, punched and kicked him. Cibula refused to fight in front of his children, but was able to throw Nixon to the ground in order to get away. Cibula had visible injuries and charges will be filed against Nixon, 23, Raley Road, New Waterford.

Highway Patrol

– Kevin L. Caldwell Sr., 36, Dyke Road, Rogers, was southbound on Union Ridge Road in Middleton Township at 4:55 p.m. Sunday and struck Jonathan Reinhart, 15, Carmel Achor Road, Rogers, who was walking and attempted to cross Union Ridge Road. Reinhart was found to be at fault and no citations were issued. Reinhart was taken to East Liverpool Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Thomas F. Combs, 16, state Route 30, Lisbon, was westbound on Winona Road in Butler Township at 9:15 p.m. Thursday and went off the right side of the road into an embankment and overturned. He was cited for failure to control. He and his passengers, Sean Fox, 18, Winona Road, Salem, and Anthony Martin, 17, Holmeswood Drive, Winona, were all treated at the scene by Damascus EMS for minor and possible injuries.

– Frederic C. Springer, 81, West Martin Street, East Palestine, was northbound on Peace Valley Road in Unity Township at 10:10 a.m. Thursday and went off the right side into a utility pole. He was cited for failure to control.

– Katherine L. Williams, 40, Hartley Road, Beloit, was eastbound on Hartley Road in Butler Township at 9 a.m. Jan. 13 and was struck by Emilee E. Strong, 20, Hookstown, Pa., who was northbound on Slater Road and failed to stop at a stop sign. The impact caused Williams to go off the road into a house and Strong went off the road into a steel rod and a basketball post. Williams was taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and Strong was taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries. Her passenger, Dennis W. Strong, Hartley Road, Beloit, was also taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No citations have been issued as the crash remains under investigation.

– Jeffrey R. Sterling, 25, Glenn Road, Lisbon, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 6:10 a.m. Jan. 12 and slid off the right side into a guardrail and down an embankment into a tree. He was cited for failure to control.

Lisbon

– Police were called to the post office parking lot at 9:11 p.m. Jan. 15 because of two vehicles reportedly sitting there with people in them. The officer spoke to an elderly woman who was sitting in one vehicle, and she said she was afraid to get out to mail a letter because of the person in the other car facing her with the headlights on. The officer told her to mail her letter, and then he approached the other vehicle, where the driver reported she, too, wanted to mail her letter but was afraid to do so because of the person in the other vehicle. It was the woman in the second car who had called police.

– Police were asked on Jan. 17 to check on the welfare of Brent A. Delmont, 52, who lived in apartments on North Market Street because the landlord said neither he nor Delmont’s mother had been able to contact him. No one answered the door, and with landlord’s permission, police entered the apartment to find Delmont sleeping. Delmont was awakened and taken into custody after it was discovered there was an arrest warrant for him for domestic violence out of the county sheriff’s office.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at the Columbiana West Right parking lot at 1 a.m. Sunday and found it belonged to a man who was using the weight room and had permission to be there.

– Steve Reed, Fairfield School Road, reported at 1:34 a.m. Sunday he was involved in a verbal dispute with Christina Oleary at his home.

East Liverpool

– Responding Friday afternoon to Bradshaw Avenue for a report of an intoxicated man wanting to fight a neighbor, officers reported finding David R. Crowe III, 30, Wilbert Avenue, with alcohol on his breath. Crowe told officers he had been watching the neighbor for the past five years beating his children and was now drunk enough to do something about it. Crowe was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication, and officers said he admitted having been on a two-day drunk, having taken 25 Ativan pills and drunk two quarts of moonshine. He had a half-empty quart of moonshine in his pocket, according to reports.

– Officers responded Friday to Orchard Grove for a report of a female crying and found a 17-year-old girl crying hysterically with a bloody lower lip. The girl told officers she was having an argument with her mother about her cell phone and her mother’s boyfriend struck her in the face. Officers spoke with the girl’s mother, who said that during the argument her daughter attacked and scratched her. The mother had visible scratches on her arm, officers reported. The girl was turned over to her father, and information was forwarded to the law director for review.

Perry Township

– Maverick E. Sanders, 20, of 400 E. Main St., Washingtonville, and a girl were each charged with underage consumption after police were called to the 1500 block of Manor Drive for a trespassing complaint at 10:49 p.m. Sunday. Police found several people near the road, including Sanders and the girl. Others called for a ride and one person fell and was taken to SRMC.

– Police were called at 6:56 p.m. Sunday to check on three suspicious vehicles at Grandview Cemetery. Officers found people looking for a family member’s grave but were unable to find it in the dark. They were told they would have better luck during daylight hours with assistance from the caretaker.

– Lucille Hudak, 31, of Austintown, was cited for assured clear distance after she rear-ended a vehicle driven by Lisa Vallia, 51, of Austintown, who had slowed for traffic turning into a drive on North Lincoln at 5:21 p.m. Friday.

Salem

– James Monteleone, 47, of state Route 45, Lisbon, was cited for failure to yield at 7:58 a.m. Monday. He pulled onto State from Highland and hit a vehicle driven by Lydia Morrow, 21, of Jennings Avenue.

– Three juveniles found in a parked vehicle in the Buckeye School lot at 1:59 a.m. Monday were taken into custody for curfew violations and released to their parents.

– Mariah Blower, 20, of 912 New Garden Ave., was charged with domestic violence after police were called to her residence at 11:11 p.m. Saturday. She and her husband had an argument and she wanted him to leave. The husband said she grabbed and scratched him, with several scratch marks visible on his neck. Blower was taken to the county jail.

– An 8000 block state Route 165 resident reported Jan. her mailbox had been destroyed.

– A Colonial Villa resident kept dialing 911 at 12:48 p.m. Jan. 9 to speak with the Alliance police chief regarding the U.S. Postal Service.

– Rebekah A. McIntosh, 22, 8875 W. South Range Road, Salem, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on state Route 165 near Route 14 at 7:08 a.m. Jan. 12. She was taken by Damascus EMS to SRMC.

– Josiah B. Petkus, 22, Poland, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on state Router 165 at 7:44 a.m. Jan. 12.

– Justin D. Wolfe, 24, 1721 Carriage Lane, Alliance, was cited for failure to control after wrecking on state Route 14 near Route 534 at 10:40 p.m. Jan. 12.

– An officer on patrol came upon what he believed to be a suspicious vehicle parked at Fairfield Commons at 1:05 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied and logged in at the parking lot.

– Another office came across a suspicious vehicle in the Missing Sock Laundromat parking lot at 3:16 a.m. Saturday. An unidentified man was found in the truck and he was given a warning.

-A vehicle belonging to Roxanne Tomidajewicz was parked in the Dutch Village Inn parking on Saturday afternoon when it was struck by another vehicle, operated by Michele Painter of Washingtonville.

– A resident of Spinnaker Drive reported Saturday her husband stole her credit cards.

East Palestine

– Tammy Allen called Saturday from her home in Virginia to report her niece had been threatened with a gun at a home on West Main Street but no one bothered to file a report. Police checked with the niece, who denied being threatened.

– Melanie Gorby reported Saturday her three children were in the custody of their father for the weekend but she had been unable to reach them. An officer went to the residence of Justin W. Foley on East Adams Street, and he confirmed that everything was fine and would instruct the children to call their mother.

– Joyce C. McConnell, Grandview Avenue, reported Saturday someone stole her debit card and withdrew $400 from her checking account.

Salem

– A woman from North Lincoln Avenue reported at 9:31 a.m. Sunday that she’s been having some problems with a newspaper carrier who delivered papers to her home. The carrier contacted her via Facebook and made some unwanted comments towards her. If the problem continues with him, she will contact the police again and an officer will speak with him. Documentation was all that was requested at this time.

– A man on West Eighth Street reported at 8:58 a.m. Sunday that he received three phone calls in the morning and also received a voice mail that was a threat. The incidents are under investigation.

– An anonymous caller at 8:04 a.m. Sunday reported a suspicious person on Park Avenue. The person in question was found and checked for warrants, then told to leave the area and not return.

– Police were called at 3:36 a.m. Sunday to West State Street for a suspicious person who was described as a male wearing a tan jacket with an orange hoodie observed behind a business. He wasn’t found. Police were also called at 3:15 a.m. to West State Street and the Cranmer bridge for the same suspicious person who was seen attempting to get into vehicles, but was not found.

– Jonathan Weis, 25, East Third Street, and Sarah Young, 31, state Route 9, were each arrested for domestic violence, a misdemeanor, after police were called to East Third Street for a fight. A man said he had an argument with his girlfriend and she bit his ear, slapped him and wrestled with him. She also said the argument turned physical and said he attempted to choke her and grabbed her, scratching on her right arm and chest. Both had visible injuries. The report said they were not married, but had a child together.

– City police assisted Perry Township Police at 3:12 a.m. Sunday at state Route 9 and the bypass. Two adult males were transported to the township police headquarters.

– Police were called at 2:03 a.m. Sunday to North Howard Avenue for a domestic dispute. relative picked her up.

– Jesse Rhodes, of Salem-Alliance Road, reported at 11:34 p.m. Saturday that he was northbound on South Cunningham Road when his vehicle struck metal. He removed the metal from the road and reported any damage would be underneath his vehicle.

– A man from North Ellsworth Avenue reported at 9:20 p.m. Saturday that several of his online accounts were accessed and he was missing money from his bank account. He contacted his bank and was told to file a police report.

– An officer on patrol at 8:45 p.m. Saturday on West Pershing Street saw a man near some unoccupied parked cars who appeared to be looking in the vehicles. The man told the officer he lived in the area and was just on his way home.

– Mark Fleming, of U.S. Route 62, reported at 7:14 p.m. Saturday that his wallet was taken after it was left on the counter at Auto Zone.

– Officers at 6:36 p.m. Saturday noticed an illegally parked vehicle on Summit Street. The owner was contacted and moved the vehicle.

– Officers on patrol at 5:34 p.m. Saturday saw a small tan dog walking in the road on Aetna Street. They attempted to catch the dog, but the dog continued to run from them.

– Officers were called to Cherry Street at 3:11 p.m. Saturday to check the well-being of a female but learned she didn’t live there anymore. She was located in another state and was okay.

– A man on East Fifth Street reported at 2:43 p.m. Saturday that he received a letter he thought was suspicious. The officer looked at the letter and determined it was over a civil issue and not suspicious at all.

– A Columbiana man came to the police station at 1:37 p.m. Saturday to file an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle report by a man who said his father let a family member borrow his car for doctor’s appointments, but that was a month ago and the relative has yet to return the father’s vehicle. The relative has stopped answering phone calls from the vehicle owner and has not returned the vehicle.

– An anonymous man spoke with an officer at 1:33 p.m. Saturday regarding concerns for his adult son who has been drinking and driving all the time. There’s a court order for him to go to rehab.

– James Miller, of South Lincoln Avenue, reported at 10:18 a.m. Saturday that his vehicle was egged several times.

– Justin Everett, 36, West Ninth Street, was cited for a temporary permit violation after a traffic stop at 7:26 a.m. Saturday on East State Street at Park Drive.

County Sheriff

– Christina Minger, state Route 14, East Palestine, reported at 12:03 p.m. Saturday her ex-husband, Jason Minger, 36, threatened to punch her in the mouth after the two argued over the dog. She also said he told her that she better be moved out by the time he gets back home from work. Christina said Jason assaulted and threatened her before and believed he would follow through on his threats, and has chosen to file charges.

Columbiana

– Wendy Greschaw reported at 9:38 a.m. Friday her daughter, Sarah Sines, was showing up at Harmony Village on South Main Street, where Greschaw works, and is not allowed to be there. Sines was warned about going to her workplace.

– A reckless driver was reported at 3:19 p.m. Friday traveling east on state Route 14. An officer was able to get behind the vehicle and followed them from a distance, but didn’t see anything wrong.

– Police were called to a house on North Middle Street at 4:18 p.m. where two children were playing with toy guns and a passerby took the guns off of them. This upset Rachael Smith, the mother of the children. Both sides were warned about the repercussions of their actions.

East Palestine

– Federic C. Springer Sr. requested a welfare check at 10:52 a.m. Thursday at his West Martin Street residence on his wife, Martha.

– Robert Stellar, North Market Street, reported at 3:26 a.m. Friday his girlfriend, Jill R. Fulton, struck him in the face.

Salem

– Patrick Phillips, 41, of Cherry Street, was cited for assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Danny Hrovatich, 58, of Sterling Heights, Mich., in the 1700 block of East State at 3 a.m. Saturday.

– An officer saw a suspicious vehicle in the northeast lot at Butech at 1:08 a.m. Saturday. Two people inside said they were arguing over a place to stay and had just pulled into the lot to talk. They were told to leave.

– A clerk at Smith Oil, East State Street, reported an $8 drive-off at 10:58 p.m. Friday.

– Police were called to the 300 block of West Eighth at 9:09 p.m. Friday. A vehicle had driven through a yard and caused damage, then become stuck in the snow. No driver was present. The vehicle was towed.

– John L. Weaver, 35, and Sabre J. Nelson, 39, both of 1184 Cleveland St., were each charged with domestic violence after police were called to the residence at 3:43 p.m. Friday. Nelson said her ex-boyfriend was moving out and breaking her things in the process. She was told it is a civil matter since they both still lived there. Police also discovered a physical fight occurred between them. Both had visible injuries and both were taken to jail.

– No citation was issued after Danielle Hartley, 32, of New Waterford, pulled into GetGo at 3:01 p.m. Friday with a van owned by Essex and turned the steering wheel too sharp, striking the metal pump protector on one of the gas pumps.

– Graffiti was reported at 11:45 a.m. Friday on several no parking signs at Sharp Avenue and Prospect.

– No citation was issued after a vehicle driven by Edward Berresford, of Woodale Drive, Hanoverton, pulled out of a parking space on Penn Avenue at 11:42 a.m. Friday and struck the left rear bumper of a parked vehicle owned by Jessie Countryman, Youngstown.

– A crew with a moving van was told to move after a parking complaint was filed by someone at Manhattan Cleaners, 763 E. State St., at 11:24 a.m. Friday The crew was moving items from the Salem Memorial Building. The vehicle was moved.

County Sheriff

– Johnny Hill, Beaver Falls, Pa., reported at 4:15 p.m. Thursday he lost his RBS Citizen Bank debit card at Circle K in East Palestine and then someone used it at the Vittle Village in Unity to buy four packs of cigarettes and $25 in gas for a $49 total charge.

Lisbon

– A person by the name of Chamberlin reported her vehicle slid onto a rock while driving down an alley off North Market Street at 4:13 p.m. Thursday. The rock became lodged under her frame and a tow truck had to be called.

– Mason McCall, North Market Street, reported he believes the two people he had removed ffrom his residence were responsible for entering his home while he was at work on Tuesday because the only things missing were items belonging to them. There was no sign of forced entry.

– An AT&T representative reported 2,500 feet of copper wire valued at $8,000 was stolen from two poles near the park-and-ride pull off on state Route 154. The theft was discovered on Tuesday.

Columbiana

– A caller reported there was a vehicle sitting on Fifth Street with its flashing lights on at 7:26 a.m. Thursday. It turned out to be a newspaper delivery person.

– Police assisted in serving an arrest warrant on Andrew Nutt, West Park Avenue, at 10:26 a.m. Thursday. The warrant was out of Smith Township in Mahoning County

East Liverpool

– Two men were arrested Thursday morning after the county Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on a residence at 777 Fenton St., the home of Jerry E. Riley, 50. According to reports, once members of the Special Response Team (SRT) reached the door, they encountered Deandre “Mouse” Dozier, 24, same address, who was ordered to the floor, but he failed to comply, instead fleeing into the basement where he tried to hide in debris. Dozier was charged with obstructing official business. Riley reportedly told officers there were no needles in the residence, but agents found needles in the kitchen. Riley was also charged with obstructing official business.

Liverpool Township

– In a report released Thursday regarding a Jan. 7 incidence at LaCroft Elementary during which students were moved from classrooms and the cafeteria into the rear wings of the building due to a domestic situation between a mother and her boyfriend, Chief Jayson Jackson reported that Rachelle R. Greathouse, Edgewood Street, had arrived at the school with her children and had been hidden in a closet by school personnel due to having visible injuries she said had been caused by being beaten with a belt by her boyfriend, who was in a vehicle in the parking lot. Greathouse told police he had beaten her violently before bringing the children to school because he did not want her driving to LaCroft from Midland, Pa. Jackson reported she had bleeding cuts and welts on her face and head the width of a belt. With assistance from St. Clair Township Patrolman Scott Mick, Jackson went to the vehicle in the parking lot, where they found Greathouse’s boyfriend, Matthew Goatley, no age or address reported, passed out, slumped down in the seat. He was placed into custody for an outstanding felony warrant for drug possession, and Greathouse was advised to go to Midland police to file charges for the alleged beating incident that occurred in that jurisdiction. Goatley was transported to the Columbiana County Jail. When contacted, Midland police declined to provide information on whether or not Goatley had been charged by that department, saying it was an open case.

Salem

– A patrolling officer observed a man hitchhiking in the area of Brooklyn Avenue and East Third Street at 12:08 p.m. Thursday. The officer informed the man that hitchhiking is illegal and told him to stop.

– Marvin Hampton III, 26, Euclid, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash at West State Street and North Ellsworth Avenue at 1:25 p.m. Thursday in which he was eastbound in a commercial truck and failed to stop for traffic, striking the rear of the vehicle in front of him.

– Officers responded to a gas station in the 900 block of East State Street at 4:36 p.m. Thursday where a clerk reported a man had purchased drinks with a $50 bill, then attempted to pay for the items of the woman behind him with another $50 bill. He then asked to change the two $50 bills for a $100 bill and then asked for $20 bills when the clerk said she couldn’t. She said he then left with all the money totaling $140.84.

– Police responded at 6:27 p.m. Thursday to a report of a man who had stolen items from a business in the 2800 block of East State Street and fled in a vehicle southbound on Cunningham Road, but were unable to find him. Officers spoke with store security and discovered two men had stolen items at the same time and fled in two separate vehicles.

– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at North Lincoln Avenue and East Third Street at 8:09 p.m. Thursday in which Makenzie Mckee, 18, Friendens, Pa., was stopped northbound and coasted backward into a northbound vehicle driven by Celina M. Gaudio, 19, North Lima. No injuries were reported nor citations issued.

– An officer responded with first responders to a medical emergency in the 100 block of Woodland Avenue at 8:22 p.m. Thursday. The man was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

– An officer responded with first responders to a medical emergency in the 200 block of Continental Drive at 9:18 p.m. Thursday. The woman was transported by ambulance to the hospital.

– Officers responded to a Woodland Avenue residence at 11:58 p.m. for a report of the rear door open and dining room light on, but found the home empty.

– Police responded to an East Third Street home at 12:47 a.m. Friday where a woman reported her ex-boyfriend had been trying to remove her vehicle’s battery and now it wouldn’t start.

– Karen Emerick, Jackson Street, Kensington, reported at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday a man has been harassing her for years hoping to date her, but she was not interested. Her husband of 37 years recently died and now the man has been showing up and calling her home. On Jan. 8, two days after her husband died, he reportedly showed up drunk, was grabbing her and hugging her. She pushed him away and told him to leave. She also told him she does not believe his wife would appreciate what he is doing.

– Linda Scyoc, Lusk Lock Road, Lisbon, reported at 5:34 p.m. Wednesday her neighbor’s fence was vandalized. The gate had been cut away from the post and taken. The gate is an industrial grade steel tube, which was taken from the property leading to the old fly ash dump on Lusk Lock Road.

Highway Patrol

– Ronald O. Baker, 42, Wood Street, Wellsville, was northbound on state Route 45 in Madison Township at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday and went off the left side into a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control.

– Kimberly Marie Brister, 30, Prospect Street, Struthers, was southbound on state Route 170 in Middleton Township at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday and hit a deer.

Lisbon

– Police responded to the security alarm going off at Consumers Bank at 6:09 a.m. Thursday, but the building was found secure.

– Jim Pezzano, North Jefferson Street, reported Wednesday there was a possible break-in at his garage, but the garage was found to be secure.

– Dale L. Humphreys, 50, Smithfield Street, East Liverpool, reportedly struck a vehicle operated by Bruce A. Carman, 52, South Beaver Street, while both were driving through the intersection of East Chestnut and North Jefferson streets at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbiana

– Police checked on a report of two suspicious vehicles at the McDonald’s parking lot at 2:19 a.m. Wednesday and discovered the drivers were there to fix the restaurant’s grills.

– Christopher Bouchillon, 27, Canfield, was stopped at the stop sign facing east on Lisbon Street at 11:52 a.m. Wednesday near West Park Avenue and was struck from behind by Jennifer Beyer, 36, Lisbon, who was then cited for assured clear distance.

– Jessica Hall, 25, Lisbon, was southbound on South Main Street at noon Wednesday and entered the Union Street intersection, disregarding the red traffic signal and collided with Lorie Gfeller, 36, Berlin Center, who was eastbound on Union Street and traveling through the green light. Hall was cited for red light.

– A Cashland employee reported at 5:19 p.m. Wednesday someone stole an item from the store.

– Police checked on a report of an odor coming from a home on South Vine Street, but no problems were found.

Salem Township

– Shirley Osterling, Old Route 344, reported Wednesday that sometime since last October someone entered her garage and took numerous car parts to a 1965 Ford Mustang that was to be rebuilt: two 289 engines, one valued at $1,500 and one at $500, a 302 engine valued at $500, a transmission, head, rear end and other parts. Also taken were drills, a grinder, gray Craftsman tool box containing numerous tools, 20-inch Stihl chainsaw model 041, Raven Arms .25 caliber chrome handgun with ivory grips, a 12-foot ladder and a scrap pile containing several steel beams 8-12 feet in length.

East Palestine

– Police went to 582 W. Clark St. at 4:31 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a disturbance. It was found that a cab driver was waiting to be paid by Jaqueline Ann Kather, West Clark Street, after dropping off Justin Victor Ciarocco of Boardman. Kather told police she was going to get the money from Floyd Sorrel, West Clark Street, but he refused. Police told Kather to make arrangements with the cab to pay later in the day.

– Police went to the 300 block of Alice Street at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a woman going door to door asking for money. Police found her in the area and warned her of the complaints.

– Katherine Joseph, North Market Street, reported at noon Wednesday someone took a decanter from a table in the home.

St. Clair Township

– After receiving numerous panic alarms from Central Federal Bank Wednesday, an officer spoke with an employee at the drive-through who said everything was fine. He opted to go inside the bank and check to make sure.

– Officers responded to Walmart Tuesday after employees reported Morgan Chestnut, 32, no address listed, was in the store after being banned from all Walmart stores due to a theft at the Austintown store. She had an outstanding warrant, and officers took her into custody.

– Ronald F. Everhart, 47, 30808 Carey Road, Salem, was cited for driving under OVI suspension and a headlight violation after a traffic stop at state Routes 45 and 165 at 10:36 p.m. Wednesday.

– Alan Jakes Jr. reportedly hit another patron at the My Bar on Tuesday. The alleged victim did not want to press charges. The owner, Roy Larkins, told police Jakes was not longer welcome there.

– A Main Street man reported Monday he believes someone is stealing his mail. He said he has said he still receives junk mail but not his other mail. The man’s name was not provided.

– Penny Stanley, Anderson Avenue, back out of her driveway Sunday and struck the rear bumper of another vehicle stopped at a stop sign. Stanley was was cited for improper backing.

Perry Township

– Brian K. Southridge, 35, of Alliance, was cited for loud exhaust, but further charges are pending after a suspected narcotics pipe was found under the driver’s seat during a traffic stop at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday on Goshen Road at Salem Parkway. After stopping the vehicle, an officer gained consent to search and found the pipe, which will be sent to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation & Identification for testing.

– Police and KLG Ambulance responded to a medical alert activated at a residence on Andrew Avenue at 12:07 a.m. Thursday. Entry was made into the residence and an elderly female was having chest pains but refused transport to a hospital emergency room. Family members arrived and said they would stay with her.

Salem

– William Javens, 22, of East Third Street, Salem, was cited for fictitious plates after a traffic stop at 6:22 a.m. Thursday on West Second between Ellsworth and Howard. The vehicle was a red Ford Mustang, but the license plates belonged to a turquoise Hyundai. Javenssaid he just purchased the vehicle two days ago and put his plates on the Mustang. The title had not been signed over to him yet. The vehicle was towed from the scene and he was given a courtesy ride to his place of employment in the Industrial Park.

– Heather Downs, of the 400 block of East Euclid Street, reported at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday that her dog was taken from its cage in the back yard. An officer saw pieces of food on the ground that appeared to have been used to lure the dog from the cage. The theft is under investigation.

– A caller at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday reported a suspicious white van shining a light in the 1800 block of Pearce Circle. An officer located the vehicle, which belonged to Columbia Gas, with a driver speaking to a resident.

– Jerry P. Jackson, 32, whose addresses were listed as East Third Street, Salem, and Echo Dell Road, East Liverpool, was taken into custody Wednesday on a warrant for failure to appear on an assault charge. Police had been called to the 500 block of East Third Street at 6:48 p.m. for an intoxicated person. He was identified and police found the outstanding warrant for his arrest.

– Courtney Bouchillon, 30, of 219 E. High St., Lisbon, was charged with theft and released on a recognizance bond after police were called to Walmart on East State Street at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday for a shoplifter. An asset protection employee reported the woman attempted to conceal merchandise and leave without paying.

– A Hammondsville woman spoke with an officer at 6:06 p.m. Wednesday regarding a theft of money from her wallet at Walmart. She lost her wallet at the local business and when she retrieved it from the business, cash was missing. An officer will follow up with the business to check surveillance footage.

– A man from Monroe Street reported at 4:47 p.m. Wednesday he was looking for his roommate at a Bank Street property and got into an argument with the roommate’s ex-girlfriend. He said she pushed him and called him a name, so he pushed her and called her a name. He said she threatened to call police. No calls had come from the female. He wanted the incident documented and was told to have no contact with her. No names were provided.

– An abandoned vehicle was reported at 3:38 p.m. Wednesday on East Euclid. A South Lincoln Avenue resident said the vehicle had been sitting there more than two weeks and doesn’t belong to anyone on that street. A warning tag was left on the windshield.

– Police were called at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday to the 200 block of Washington Avenue where a male was reportedly waiting outside a residence where his wife was staying. Officers made it clear to him that she does not want to deal with him at this time and he is on the verge of criminal charges. He left to go elsewhere for the night. Police had already been to the home after the resident reported at 2:09 p.m. that he was threatened over the phone by a known male. The pickup was described as a maroon Ford F-150. While the officer was present, the male called and made comments and threats towards the resident. The resident was told to tell the male to stay off the property and not call him back.

Salem

– Firefighters were called at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday to Ventra Salem, 800 Pennsylvania Ave., for a fire alarm in the paint booth. Upon arrival, the fire was out. Maintenance personnel reported there was a short in the robotic arm that ignited the paint from the spray gun causing a fireball. The system was shut down and a dry chemical extinguisher was used by shop employees to extinguish the fire. There was minimal damage, the report said.

Lisbon

– The fire department was called to the electric substation near West High Street after a transformer blew about 6 a.m. Thursday. The explosion knocked power out to portions of the village and surrounding areas for about four hours.

– Steve Bender, Chain School Road, East Palestine, reported at 4 p.m. Tuesday he noticed the rear license plate was missing from a pickup he was borrowing from Nathan Whalen, Signal Road, Columbiana. He called Whalen, who asked him to file a report. It is unknown if the plate was lost or stolen.

Highway Patrol

– Shane M. Kreefer, 28, Dunn Road, East Liverpool, was northbound on state Route 7 in Madison Township at 6:48 a.m. Monday and went left of center off the left side into a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control.

– Hollie M. Breletich, 29, state Route 518, Lisbon, was southeastbound on Sixteen School Road in Yellow Creek Township at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday and went left of center, over-corrected and then went off the right side into an embankment and overturned. She was cited for failure to control.

– Thomas G. Rhodes, 52, Salineville Road West, Salineville, was southbound on Lisbon Road in Center Township at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday and Holly L. Dicicco, 43, Aliquppa, Pa., was westbound on Sell Road and failed to yield from a stop sign and struck Rhodes, causing Rhodes’ vehicle to roll over several times before going off the right side into a ditch and overturning on its wheels. Dicicco was cited for stop sign.

– David R. Herbert, 65, Allison Park, Pa., was westbound on state Route 344 and hit a deer.

– Susan Christina Heacock, 21, New Garden Road, Salem, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 9:18 a.m. Monday and went off the right side into a ditch, a culvert and an embankment. She was cited for failure to control.

– Erin E. Morrow, 21, East Fifth Street, Salem, was westbound on Teegarden Road in Hanover Township at 8:44 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control and taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Todd A. Brammer, 53, West Washington Street, Lisbon, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 4:40 a.m. Monday and went left of center off the left side into a ditch and a utility marker. He was cited for failure to control.

Lisbon

-A caller reported there was a problem with icy roadways at the intersection of East Chestnut and Harrison at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, and a street department crew was contacted.

– Vickie Waite, 942 N. Market St., reported Tuesday that Tracey Ketchum had choked her, but police did not see any marks on her indicating she had been assaulted. Ketchum told police Waite had punched him in the side in a dispute over how Ketchum was stacking dishes in the cupboard.

Salineville

– Police were called at 12:45 p.m. Jan. 2 to a house on Mill Street regarding a domestic disturbance between Scott Wallen and Rhonda Jones. Officers obtained white pills found near the man, who was taken to another house in town and dropped off. Criminal charges may be pending as the investigation continues.

– Two juveniles and an adult were arrested at a home on West Main Street on Jan. 3, and charged with assault and burglary after the juveniles broke into the home and attacked the home owner.

Columbiana

– An Edgewood Drive woman reported at 11:41 a.m. Tuesday people were selling meat from a black Nissan and she wasn’t sure if they had permits. Police checked the area but did not find anyone matching the description.

– A man reported at 3:21 p.m. Tuesday he was upset about a disabled vehicle that was on South West Avenue near Union Street. Police checked and found the truck was not illegally parked or causing any problems for other traffic.

– James Cairns reported at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday he was breaking up with his girlfriend and requested an officer stand by while she retrieved her belongings from his North Main Street home.

– Someone reported at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday there was trash all over the road on West Woodland Avenue near Camelot Drive. A note was left with the Street Department to have the trash cleaned.

– Dave Perkins reported at 5:36 p.m. Tuesday a large truck was blocking the lane on North Main Street north of Stanton Avenue. Police checked but the vehicle was already gone.

– Shawn A. Hamilton, 44, West Pidgeon Road, Salem, was stopped at Heck Road at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday near state Route 14 and was struck by Jerry D. Schwartz, 35, South Avenue, North Lima, who was turning east onto Heck Road from state Route 14. Schwartz’s vehicle was being towed by a vehicle driven by David M. Schwartz, 57, South Avenue, North Lima. Jerry Schwartz was cited for turning at an intersection.

Perry Township

– An Andrew Avenue resident reported Tuesday she received a letter from the Ohio Department of Taxation regarding possible identity theft dating back to 2013. Police will contacting the ODT.

– A resident on Buckeye Circle reported a missing firearm.

– Randy W. Bowman, 53, of East 10th Street, was cited for assured clear distance after he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Steven Tennis, 45, of Smith-Goshen Road, Beloit, who was stopped for a light on West State at 5:24 p.m. Monday.

– Stephanie Lambert, of Southeast Boulevard, was cited for reasonable control after she wrecked on a slushy state Route 9 at 7:46 a.m. Monday. Her vehicle struck a mailbox and a utility pole, breaking it in half.

Salem

– Joshua Board, South Lincoln Avenue, reported at 12:17 p.m. Wednesday his maroon 1998 Ford F-150 pickup was missing.

– Police dealt with a domestic situation both Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, finally telling the ex-boyfriend to cease contract. No names were provided.

– Lisa Winwood, 34, of 371 Columbia St., Leetonia, was charged with theft for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart at 7:39 p.m. Tuesday.

-A woman reported that on Monday between 5 and 5:30 p.m., someone possibly stole her phone out of her purse while she was waiting in line at Walmart. The woman who had been behind her was described as 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7 tall, medium build (stocky) with brown shoulder length hair, 55 to 60 years old and very tan looking. She said the woman had looked weird at one point.

East Liverpool

– Officers were called to a Lisbon Street residence where Julie Carl, no age or address listed, was reportedly highly intoxicated and breaking things. The person called back to say Carl had gotten into a truck with a man, and officers encountered the truck and stopped it. Carl was charged with disorderly conduct. When the driver, Daner Adkins, exited the vehicle, he left the door open, and officers reported seeing a crack pipe containing Chore Boy inside. They also reported finding a second crack pipe in the glove compartment. Both will be sent for testing with additional charges pending.

– Christine Dourassa, no address listed, reported her mother was placed in a nursing home and several items were taken from her apartment at Riverview Towers, including an iPad, cell phone, money, parrot and its cage.

– Employees at the Dollar General on Walnut Street reported a woman took items and left the store, and they provided police with a description of her vehicle and its license plate. Officers arrived at the residence as the woman pulled in, but she denied taking anything from the store. Nothing from Dollar General was found inside her purse.

– An employee of Bill Tice & Sons arrived at work to find the glass in the front door smashed and entry made, but nothing apparently missing.

– Jody Petros, McKee Street, reported a man she knows changed the locks on the house and took her property and now wants $400 to return them.

– Julie Underwood, Maine Boulevard, reported she noticed her purse missing after a house guest left her home.

– Employees of the Dollar General on Pennsylvania Avenue reported a woman they were able to identify came to return numerous items for cash and, while she was waiting in line, took a couple of items. Officers were advised neither the woman nor her boyfriend is welcome in the store from now on.

– Kimberly S. Fields, St. Clair Avenue, reported she had her cashed check in her jacket pocket and believes it was stolen while she was at her doctor’s appointment.

– Officers responded to a fight call at the New Dimension Lounge where the owner said a man was sitting at the bar and another man walked up and punched him in the nose. The victim was advised how to file charges with the law director.

– John K. Anderson, no address listed, reported he went to empty out a residence on Alpha Street his soon-to-be-ex-wife had abandoned and found the back door kicked in. He also reported the house was in deplorable condition.

– While northbound on Parkway, Afton S. Parsons, no address listed, reported a person she knows blocked her vehicle in at Armstrong Lane and pulled a gun on her, threatening her.

– Officers received a tip that Bristen Lavant, no age or address listed, was inside a building at Heights Manor where he is on the no trespass list. They arrived and reported hearing Lavant’s voice in an apartment and told the occupant, Ashley Durbin, they wanted to see him. They reported hearing her tell Lavant the police wanted him and said he and another man fled out a window. The wooded area was searched but the men were not located, but officers reported charges of obstructing official business and criminal trespassing were to be filed against Lavant. After they cleared the scene, Durbin came to the police department and asked that her apartment be cleared of all drugs and drug paraphernalia that they said may have belonged to Lavant, and officers reported removing two scales, a box of hookah equipment, a smoking pipe and 12 individually-wrapped packets suspected of being heroin.

– Julie A. Carl, Lincoln Avenue, reported receiving threatening texts from Daner Adkins, then a few hours later, officers stopped a vehicle and found Adkins driving with Carl as a passenger, according to reports.

– Tracy L. Rockey, Denver Street, reported the back window of her minivan shattered.

– Cezar Almalel, Parkway, reported finding a window shattered and lying on the ground, thinking it was damaged by the wind. Then, he found pry marks on the window and a door and a pry bar from his garage lying in the shattered glass. Nothing was reported missing.

– Julie Waggoner, Dresden Avenue, reported her home entered through a rear window and two Playstation systems taken. She told police a man and his girlfriend had been living in the basement until being evicted and he still has a key to the basement entry way.

Liverpool Township

– Ralph Turner, Annesley Road, reported Friday he was in a building across his yard and when he returned to the house to eat lunch noticed the garage door opened which had been closed. Televisions were taken from the kitchen, living room and bedroom.

– Janet Dudgeon, Myler Park Road, reported she arrived home from work to find a man trying to open her front door. She asked why and the man said he was seeing if someone was home, he was lost and trying to find the LaCroft area. She told him to leave, and officers said road crew workers reported seeing a man matching the same description getting into a white Pontiac Grand Am with another man and head south on Lisbon Street. The Caucasian man was described as being about 6-feet tall, with a goatee, wearing a Cleveland Browns hoodie and blue jeans. Officers searched the area but did not locate him.

– Bernie Stewart, Kountz Avenue, Wellsville, reported neighbors had been dumping trash over the guardrail into the wooded area near state Route 7. Stewart told officers he spoke to a young woman at the residence about the trash and she said they could not afford to hire a refuse company but she worked at a business in Wellsville and would throw it in the Dumpster there. He said she stopped throwing it over the hill for awhile and now is doing it again, with diapers scattered everywhere and clothes hanging from the tree. Officers found a small amount of garbage but nothing with a name or address to determine who may have dumped it. No one was home at the residence in question, he reported.

– David Fusco, 7th Avenue, reported hearing a sound outside his home and was told by a neighbor a green SUV had struck his and Fusco’s mailboxes.

– Michael Hall, Lisbon Street, reported he returned home from the hospital and noticed a window broken out of his truck.

St. Clair Township

– A man was observed concealing items at the Dollar General store and, when confronted by a manager as he left, the man shoved her to the side. He ran down the sidewalk without being identified.

– While northbound on state Route 170 Tuesday morning, Jennifer Headley, 34, Belmont Avenue, lost control of her vehicle on the snow- and ice-covered roadway. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, into a ditch and then came out of the ditch, coming to a stop about 150 feet from the roadway. No charges were reported.

Lisbon

– The fire department responded to what turned out to be a false alarm at Huntington National Bank location in downtown Lisbon at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday.

– The fire department directed traffic at the scene of a traffic accident at the intersection of Lisbon and Adams roads at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday. The accident was handled by the Ohio Highway Patrol.

– The fire alarm went off at the county jail at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, which was activated when someone overcooked cheese in a microwave.

County Sheriff

– Dan Stiffler, Butler Grange, Salem, reported at 3:10 a.m. Monday when he arrived home he found his mailbox missing and several shoe prints in the snow around it. Deputies found the mailbox with minimal damage on Winona Road and returned it to him.

– Michael Hicks, Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, reported at 2:44 p.m. Monday he is divorced and shares custody of his teenage daughter with his ex-wife. She reportedly would not allow Hicks to take his daughter for his two-week visit on Sunday. Deputies told him to speak to his attorney.

– Susan Gregg, Randel Road, Hanoverton, reported at 11:23 a.m. Monday someone damaged her mailbox overnight. It appeared someone smashed it.

– Dale Reed, Mountz Road, Salem, reported at 11:06 a.m. Monday overnight someone stole his metal mailbox and the wooden four by four post it had been sitting on. There may also have been mail in the mailbox when it was taken.

Lisbon

– Mason McCall, 962 N. Market St., called for an officer at 5 p.m. Sunday to say he wanted two people removed from his apartment. McCall said Peter Joseph, 20, of Midland, Pa., and Robert Whispell, 23, of Accord, N.Y., were homeless, so he let them stay with him, but now they were making a mess and refusing to leave. When an officer arrived and told them they had to leave, both began yelling at the officer and Joseph began punching a gallon tea jug, saying they had nowhere else to go. The pair were told to calm down, and at this point Whispell lifted his hands toward Joseph’s throat to get him to shut up. The officer pushed Whispell away from Joseph, pulled his Taser gun and ordered them to go to opposite sides of the room while he called for back up. Joseph continued to yell, and an ambulance was summoned after both indicated they might attempt to harm themselves. Joseph and Whispell agreed to be transported to a local hospital and were told upon their release to remove their items from the house.

– An officer responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Thomas Road at 4:43 p.m. Sunday, finding Jessie E. Mattix, 78, sitting in the driver’s seat. Mattix was helped from the vehicle and a tow truck was called. Mattix was then given a ride to her home on Sunset Drive.

– A 911 hang-up call from a cell phone was received from a home at 345 E. Chestnut St. at 3:24 a.m. Sunday. Police arrived and spoke with Howard Smith, who said he only has a land line.

– The security alarm went off at the VFW at 12:28 a.m. Sunday. A door was found open but the building appeared to be secure.

– A caller reported there were two males walking on North Market Street and talking loudly near the Circle K at 2:36 a.m. Monday. Police found Adam and Kevin Dopp walking to their home on East Chestnut Street after purchasing some cigarettes from the Circle K. They were told lower their voices as they walked home and to watch out for snow plows.

– Debbie Curtis, 845 N. Market St., reported hearing noises coming from the laundry room in the apartment house at 1:47 a.m. Monday. Police did not find anyone in there but they could hear the water heater making a knocking sound.

– Police accompanied Mike Malone to a residence on North Jefferson Street to collect items that belonged to him. This was at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Highway Patrol

– Trevor M. Floyd, 18, Richardson Avenue, Negley, was westbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday and went off the right edge into two trees. He was cited for failure to control.

– Michael S. Schneider, 31, Hermitage, Pa., was northbound on state Route 164 in Center Township at 8:37 a.m. Monday and went off the right side into two trees. He was cited for failure to control.

– Joshua Adam Beery, 36, Lisbon-Canfield Road, Leetonia, was southbound on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 7:40 a.m. Monday and failed to negotiate a curve to the left and went off the west side of the road into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Samuel Tirabassi, 58, West Friend Street, Columbiana, was westbound on state Route 14 in Unity Township at 6:20 a.m. Friday and went off the right side into a vehicle that was already off the right side of the road and not moving. No citations were issued and the owner of the other vehicle was not known.

– Michael A. Fast, 34, West Pershing Street, Salem, and Jacklyn S. Solomon, 31, Yates Road, Salem, were southbound on Depot Road in Butler Township at 2 p.m. Friday and Fast stopped for traffic ahead and was struck from behind by Solomon, who was cited for assured clear distance.

– Cynthia D. Graffius, 55, Fairfield School Road, Columbiana, was westbound on East Park Avenue in Fairfield Township at 8:10 p.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

– Dawn M. Croft, 38, Bacon Avenue, East Palestine, was westbound on state Route 172 in Center Township at 7:58 a.m. Monday and lost control and went off the right side into a ditch. No citations were issued.

– Joseph A. Jones, 45, McKaig Road, Hanoverton, was westbound on state Route 644 in Hanover Township at 6 a.m. Monday and went off the right side into a car parked owned by Trina Coenett that was in a private drive, and then stuck a utility pole and a fence. He was cited for failure to control.

– Betty L. Ostick, 63, West North Avenue, East Palestine, was southbound on state Route 170 in Unity Township at 8:10 a.m. Monday and lost control on snow and went off the right side into a guardrail face. She was cited for failure to control.

East Palestine

– Nicholas Conway, East North Avenue, reported at 3:43 p.m. Monday his neighbor, William Felger, 68, was intoxicated and came out of his house with a shotgun while arguing with him about a property dispute. Felger was arrested and taken to the county jail.

Columbiana

– At midnight Monday, police requested the street crew salt the roads due to the weather.

– Police issued a 10-day junk vehicle notice to Christopher Harman, 149 S. Main St. at 7:44 a.m. Monday.

– Ron Wehr, address not listed, reported at 6:33 p.m. Monday his two juvenile daughters were causing problems with him and were out in the car in front of the police station screaming and hollering. Police spoke to everyone involved and they were referred to the Mahoning County Juvenile Court.

– A North Elm Street woman reported at 10:39 p.m. Monday someone was pounding on her door and trying to get inside. Police checked the area but did not find anyone.

Salem Township

– While investigating a theft from last week, Constable Dan Valentine arrested Kenneth Smith, Grafton Road, was arrested and charged with five counts of theft.

– Rachel George was arrested Monday at an East Main Street address on a warrant from Mahoning County for failure to appear on a drug charge.

Salem

– Jonathan Maines, 26, of 513 Cherry St., was charged with theft for an alleged shoplifting attempt Tuesday afternoon at Walmart. The value of items stolen was $120.

– A woman in the 100 block of East Fifth Street reported at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday that she received what appeared to be a genuine letter from the Ohio Department of Taxation regarding someone filing a 2013 tax return in her name with her social security number. In the letter, she was provided with directions to follow and told to file a police report.

– Police responded at 8:02 p.m. Monday to Southeast Boulevard where staff advised a resident tried to strike one of them and obtained several knives from the kitchen drawer to try harming herself. The resident reportedly came toward a staff member with a knife which they were able to take away from her. The resident sat down in a chair and was calm, then became agitated and broke a light bulb by squeezing it. Staff members thought they had all the glass, but she still had a glass shard and attempted to cut herself before they were able to get it off of her. She was taken to SRMC.

– A West Eighth man reported Monday a 20-pound propane tank was removed from his grill in the back yard.

– A Leetonia man reported Monday he got into an argument with someone for being rude to the employees at the BMV. The man said after he left the business, the person followed him throughout the city in his vehicle. Police obtained information on the person.

-A worker at Cashland, East State Street, reported at 1:20 p.m. Monday she came out for lunch and noticed someone had hit her vehicle.

Salem

– Mark Conroy, 45, of 1207 E. Third St., was charged with disorderly conduct/public intoxication at 11:46 p.m. Sunday. He was in a restroom at Walmart and refused to leave. Conroy was given a ride home.

– Police and sheriff’s deputies arrested two people Sunday night at a Woodland Avenue home. Timothy E. Culler Jr., 36, last known address was East Garfield Road, Petersburg, was wanted on warrants for illegal conveyance into a detention facility and falsification. Stacey L. Butcher, 40, of Tampa, Fla., was wanted on a warrant for trafficking in drugs.

– Troy Hughes, 42, of 649 Prospect St., was cited for passing in a no passing zone, hit skip/leaving the scene and OVI after an accident Sunday afternoon on East State ended with Hughes’ being caught in Washingtonville. Catherine Davidson-Chuck, 47, of Harrison Avenue, was eastbound on State when the other vehicle tried to pass and hit her vehicle, then fled. She followed the vehicle as she called police. She saw a Washingtonville cruiser as she entered the village, stopped and advised him of the situation. That officer mad the traffic stop. Hughes told police he had consumed six tall boy beers.

Perry Township

– Lora Herbert, 70, Beechwood Road, was cited for failure to yield after she struck a vehicle driven by Frank Wolford,59, North Lincoln Avenue, while crossing U.S. 62 while eastbound on Goshen Road at 6:34 p.m. Sunday.

– Four-wheelers were riding in the Friends cemetery behind the former Hickory Rib at 5 p.m. Sunday. They were identified and told they would be responsible for any damages. Their names were not provided.

– No citation was issued after Korey Herron, 27, Woodsdale Road, slid off Route 9 and hit a mailbox. Road conditions were blamed.

Goshen Police District

– Christopher Michael Benson, 39, 408 Fair Ave., Salem was cited for failure to control after wrecking on U.S. 62 near Calla Road at 6:57 p.m. Friday.

St. Clair Township

– Officers responded to Walmart Saturday to remove Alvin S. Pugh, 34, no address listed, who security personnel reported had been seen taking a RangeFinder on Dec. 20. According to reports, a customer told employees on that date the person using the restroom before him had left packaging behind. Video reportedly showed Pugh taking the RangeFinder, cutting off the security device and placing the item in his coveralls before leaving the store without paying. Officers found Pugh in the store Saturday in the electronics department and took him into custody, charging him with petty theft.

– Mary T. Todd, no address listed, reported someone used her Giant Eagle Advantage Card number to purchase gas, using all the fuel perks she had accumulated on her account.

– A neighbor reported the garage door opened on a Purinton Avenue residence where the home owner was away. Officers checked, found no problems and secured the garage.

– Andre M. Coles, 19, Smithfield Street, was southbound on Bell School Road when he lost control of his vehicle, which went off the right side of the road into a ditch.

Salem

– Firefighters were called at 1:19 p.m. Tuesday to Amvets Post 45, 750 S. Broadway, for an odor of natural gas inside an outbuilding. Nothing was detected by a meter, although there was an odor of natural gas. Columbia Gas was contacted to respond. The problem was found to be a flex line feeding the hot water tank.

County Sheriff

– Courtney Davis, Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, reported at 12:05 a.m. Saturday she received multiple text messages from a woman claiming to be named Amy Saunders. Deputies attempted to find the woman. When the number she is texting from is called it goes to an internet site voicemail.

– A garage door was found open at a Fairfield School Road home at 1:35 a.m. Sunday. The home is for sale and the house is empty, but deputies saw lights on in the basement and tracks along the side of the house. The home was checked for intruders, but no one was found inside.

– Tammy Sentz, Gorby Road, Negley, reported at 8:34 p.m. Sunday she grounded her 15-year-old daughter for not doing her chores. She caught her daughter on the house phone telling her friend all parents should be dead. Then there was a battle over a cell phone and Sentz’ daughter kicked her several times in the stomach before she ran out the front door. The child was taken to the Tobin Center and will be charged with domestic violence.

– Jenny Freestone, Smith Road, Kensington, reported at 1:48 p.m. Saturday an unknown vehicle struck her vehicle while she was inside the Spread Eagle Tavern. There was no damage to Freestone’s vehicle, but there were parts of the other vehicle on the ground near her front bumper. Jason Bridge, Wisner Road, Hanoverton, later called deputies to report he heard something while backing up to leave work and thought he had struck ice, but when he got home he found the passenger side rear tail light was broken on his vehicle. Deputies also found the Bureau of Motor Vehicles wanted Bridge’s license plates confiscated and went to his home to do so.

– Starlyne Reed, Scott Mill Road, Rogers, reported at 3:15 p.m. Thursday her neighbors, who live behind her trailer, have been attracting stray cats and feeding them. There are probably 15 to 20 cats roaming the neighborhood. Reed claims the cats tore the skirting loose from her trailer, are tearing the insulation out under her trailer and caused a propane tank to fall to the ground.

Highway Patrol

– Emily N. Steves, 17, Rollercoaster Road, Lisbon, was southbound on Rollercoaster Road in Elkrun Township at 1:20 p.m. Sunday and slid off the left side into two trees. She was cited for failure to control.

– George R. Maskaluk, 20, state Route 39, Salineville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday and went left of center into Amy L. Earich, 46, Jefferson Street, Salineville, who was westbound.

– Christopher J. Sabatino, 21, Third Street, Summitville, was northbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 11 a.m. Friday and lost control in a curve and slid off the left side into a mailbox. He was cited for failure to control.

– Tina M. Lippiat, 45, Carey Road, Salem, was westbound on North Price Road in Butler Township at noon Friday and reportedly slid through the stop sign at the state Route 9 intersection and was struck in the right side by Earl T. Hutter, 71, state Route 9, Salem, who was southbound on state Route 9. Hutter was taken to the Salem hospital with serious injuries and Lippiat was cited for stop sign.

– Cole A. Courtney, 16, Salem, was westbound on Teegarden Road in Hanover Township at 7:11 p.m. Friday and went off the right side over an embankment and into a tree. She was cited for failure to control.

– Ryan Parke, 29, South Cross Street, Columbiana, was northbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 12:48 p.m. Saturday and the vehicle caught fire.

Columbiana

– Mario Parish, South Middle Street, reported at 3:17 p.m. Sunday his neighbor’s dogs keep coming into his yard.

– A woman reported at 5 p.m. Sunday she saw someone with a gun on West Salem Street near Cherry Fork Road. Police found the suspect who did not have a gun.

– A woman reported at 7:26 p.m. Sunday a dark colored Jeep Liberty vehicle was parked in the Save-A-Lot parking lot for about a half hour. Police found the vehicle who then moved on.

East Liverpool

– Officers on Webber Way reported seeing a known drug user being dropped off at the house from a pickup truck, which then circled the block several times. The truck was stopped and officers found the passenger, Edward J. Bailey, 30, Vine Street, had an indictment against him out of West Virginia for delivery of controlled substance. While officers were patting down Bailey, they reported he was found to be wearing three pairs of jeans, two of which had security tags attached. He was taken into custody on the outstanding indictment and charged as a fugitive from justice. St. Clair Township Police were advised about the stolen jeans.

St. Clair Township

– Officers were called to remove Kenneth R. Jordan and Hope Phillips from the Walmart store due to Jordan being suspected of stealing a sweeper on Dec. 30 and Phillips being on the no trespass list. Jordan was charged with petty theft and Phillips was again served with a no trespass notice. Reports had no addresses for Jordan and Phillips.

– Yvonne L. Whitmer, 57, Navarre, was taken by Lifeteam Ambulance to East Liverpool City Hospital after she lost control of her northbound vehicle on state Route 170. The vehicle went off the right side, striking a utility pole.

– Kevin J. Young, 50, Mingo Junction, was stopped in the turning lane on state Route 170, preparing to turn into a private drive when a vehicle driven east by Mark E. Spencer, 58, Steubenville, struck the snowplow on Young’s vehicle.

County Sheriff

– Jenny Freestone, Smith Road, Kensington, reported at 1:48 p.m. Saturday someone struck her vehicle while she was inside the Spread Eagle Tavern. Freestone said the vehicle did not cause any damage to her vehicle, although it did leave parts of their vehicle on the ground. Jason Bridge, Wisner Road, Hanoverton, later reported he struck a vehicle while leaving work. Bridge told deputies he heard something while backing up and thought he had run over some ice and when he returned home he noticed the damage on to his passenger side rear tail light.

Columbiana

– Gwenda Leadbitter, reported at 11:45 a.m. Sat-urday she was concerned because a man had left his kids sitting in a car in the parking lot of the Valero gas station and he had been inside for about 10 minutes. Police found the man and he said he had only been in the store for a short time and the kids were fine.

– Phyllis Johnson of Lowellville consulted with police at 4:57 p.m. Saturday about parking in front of the Mercantile on the square. Police said it was legal to park in the designated parking spaces on East Park Avenue.

Salem

– Kenneth G. Kleinknecht, 1694 Lisbon Road, Leetonia, was cited for OVI, driving under suspension and a red light violation after a traffic stop t Howard and State at 1:07 a.m. Sunday.

– Francine L. Pimentel, 568 East School Street, was charged with OVI, driving under suspension and speeding after a traffic stop on North Lincoln at 10:53 p.m. Saturday.

– Police responded to the 2800 block of East State at 4:26 p.m. Saturday and saw a woman matching the description of a shoplifter and gave pursuit. They found her in a restroom of a business. Brenda M. Tomlin, 3072 state Route 517, Lisbon, was charged with theft. She also was wanted on a Mahoning Counnty warrant for heroin possession.

– Cheyne J. White, 391 Somer Street, Leetonia, was charged with driving under suspension after a traffic stop on Jennings.

– A Fifth Street woman said someone threw a piece of concrete through her front window.

– Firefighters were called to provide traffic control for a vehicle crash on state Route 11 at 10:17 a.m. Saturday.

– Douglas P. Carpenter, 44, Dover, and Jarrod R. Becker, 23, Minerva, were southbound on Knox School Road in West Township at 8:30 a.m. Saturday and Carpenter slowed and was struck from behind by Becker. Becker was cited for failure to control.

– Antwon Levon Harris, 40, Youngstown, was northbound on state Route 11 in Fairfield Township at 10:10 a.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a guardrail and then slid across the road and off the left side into a concrete bridge rail. He was cited for failure to control.

– John W. Taylor, 90, state Route 267, East Liverpool, was eastbound on state Route 172 in Center Township at 2:10 p.m. Friday and went off the right side into a guardrail and then overturned off the guardrail and rolled down an embankment. He was taken to East Liverpool hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No citations were issued.

– Vicki Diane Geissler, 56, Canton, was eastbound on state Route 172 in Center Township at 11:50 a.m. Friday and lost control and slid off the right side into a ditch and overturned. She was cited for failure to control.

– Richard A. Applegarth, 65, Gurlea Street, Hanoverton, was westbound on state Route 172 in Center Township at 10:50 a.m. Friday and slid left of center into the westbound and then off the right side of the road into a ditch. He was cited for failure to control.

– Keith E. Wilson, 66, Chestnut Lane, Hanoverton, was northbound on state Route 9 in Butler Township at 2:43 p.m. Tuesday and went off the left side into a ditch. No citations were issued due to road conditions.

– Sherez Liquita Deveria Kay Martin, 19, Georgetown Road, Georgetown, was northbound on Westville Lake Road in Knox Township at 10:30 p.m. Thursday and lost control and went off the right side into a ditch. She was cited for failure to control.

– Derrick G. Forney, 20, Atwater, was southbound on Cunningham Road in Salem Township at 12:35 p.m. Thursday and lost control and went left of center into David D. Fowler, 56, Salem Grange Road, Salem, who was northbound. Forney was cited for left of center and Fowler’s passenger, Benjamin T. Fowler, 22, Salem Grange Road, Salem, was taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Walter Allen Martin, 22, Salem Church Road, Salem, was eastbound on Salem Church Road in Knox Township at 5:59 a.m. Thursday and failed to stop at a posted stop sign and went through the intersection into a tree on the east edge of Mahoning Avenue. He was cited for stop sign.

– Lindsay Jo Frass, 24, Laughlin Mill Road, Lisbon, was southbound on Meister Road in Hanover Township at 1:35 a.m. Thursday and went off the right side into a tree. She was cited for failure to control.

– Timothy N. Huff, 24, Canton, was westbound on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 4:35 p.m. Wednesday and slid off the right side of the road. He was cited for failure to control.

– Jean Zion, 70, Georgetown Road, Salem, was eastbound on U.S. 62 in Knox Township at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday and struck Charleen Crowder, 44, Alliance, who was also eastbound and stopped for traffic. Crowder then struck John C. Hoskins, 54, Alliance, who was in front of her, and the impact caused Crowder to go off the right side of the road into a sign. Zion was cited for assured clear distance and Crowder and her passenger, Cody Crowder, Alliance, were taken to the Alliance hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Erin M. Faust, 29, West Pershing Street, Salem, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and slid off the left side into a ditch and a utility pole. She was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

– The Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office reported at 7:20 p.m. Friday police should be on the lookout for two suspicious people possibly walking to Columbiana on Fairfield School Road from Rogers.

East Palestine

– Timothy Hooley, North Avenue, reported at 12:31 p.m. Friday he was in a verbal argument with a man who was soliciting for a gas company. Hooley told police he asked the salesman to leave because he was not interested in his company’s services and the man replied that he would be back the next day, at which point Hooley told him not to bother coming back and the man began to argue with him, and said, “You won’t talk to me because I’m black.” Hooley said at that point he shut the door and the man left. Police later found the salesman, who admitted to having an argument with Hooley, and that Hooley had become upset and began using racial slurs and yelling at him. Police told the man not to return to the home.

– Rae Ann Bankston, South Walnut Street, reported at 10:52 a.m. Friday she was contacted by a man who claimed to be Mike Robin of the Federal Bureau of Investigations and told her there was a warrant and a civil suit pending against her for a loan of $300 she failed to repay. Police called the number Bankston provided to the department and the man answered and identified himself at Robin, but hung up after the officer identified himself. Police then told Bankston the call was a scam attempting to defraud her of her money.

– William Hungar, East Taggart Street, reported at 11:35 a.m. Friday he received a call from a man who said he would be arrested if he did not send payment for a loan he was issued several years ago. Police assured Hungar the call was a common scam.

– A North Avenue woman reported at 12:21 p.m. Friday her juvenile daughter received a sexually explicit text message from a phone number no one recognized. Police called the number back but the call went straight to voicemail.

Lisbon

– A man reported at 3 a.m. Friday the mother of his five-month-old daughter who lives on Moore Street was threatening to commit suicide by cutting herself. The man provided police with pictures on his cell phone that the woman sent him showing her wounds. Officers went to the home and the woman and her infant were taken to a medical facility.

– Police went to a South Beaver Street home at 7:39 p.m. Wednesday for a report that KLG Ambulance was responding to a call of an unstable woman there. The woman was transported with no problems.

Perry Township

– Police responded at 10:04 a.m. Thursday to the 1800 block of Depot Road for a one-vehicle accident called in by a passerby. Officers found a 16-year-old Lisbon boy was driving a pickup northbound on Depot and failed to maintain reasonable control, with the vehicle traveling off of the right side of the road and coming to rest in a ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was cited for reasonable control as a juvenile offender. He was picked up by his mother, who was also advised of the citation.

Salem

– On Friday morning, police responded to two different private property accidents in the city, both involving snow plow drivers working on the lots and striking a parked vehicle. No injuries were reported.

– Police responded to Aaron’s Rental in the 2900 block of East State Street for alarm activations at 6:59 a.m. Friday and 3:14 a.m. Friday. In both cases, the exterior was checked and found secure. Officers also heard an alarm going off at another location and found the building secure at 2:41 a.m. Friday.

– Police were called at 2:29 a.m. Friday to the 800 block of South Lincoln Avenue for an alleged fight. Contact was made with a man who appeared intoxicated and said he became upset when his friends left him at Centennial Park and he had to walk home. He reported no physical violence between anybody. He had a visible injury to his right arm and said he punched a wall. Other persons also said there was no physical altercation.

– No citation was issued due to road conditions after a northbound vehicle driven by Timothy Allison, 27, of Petersburg, could not get stopped for the red light on South Lincoln Avenue and slid through the intersection, striking a northbound vehicle driven by Barry Baddeley, 56, of Salem, at 9:38 p.m. Thursday. No injuries were reported.

– An officer on patrol at 9:27 p.m. Thursday saw a vehicle parked partially in the road in the 500 block of North Ellsworth Avenue. The owner moved it.

– A phone was found on a sidewalk at 3:49 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of East State Street and placed in the police lost and found.

– A woman on East Fifth Street reported at 3:14 p.m. Thursday that she left her wallet on the counter of a local store and when she returned to the store within five minutes, the wallet was gone.

– A person acting at risk to herself in the 1500 block of Southeast Boulevard at 2:51 p.m. Thursday was transported to Salem Regional Medical Center by KLG.

– A civil issue was reported at 1:58 p.m. Thursday in the 600 block of North Howard Avenue. The civil nature of the complaint and issues of child custody were explained.

– Police were called at 1:51 p.m. Thursday to the 1400 block of Buckeye Circle for neglect to an animal after a caller reported a dog outside for over an hour. The officers located the dog in the back yard tied up to a tree. They made contact with a juvenile who said his parents were at work and the dog was sick and he did not know what to do. He was told to take the dog inside and contact his parents about the dog’s health.

– Dominic Linder, of Arch Street, reported at 1:25 p.m. Thursday that he was jogging in the 600 block of Prospect Street on Tuesday when four dogs ran after him from a residence and one bit him on the leg around the knee area. An officer attempted to make contact at the residence, but no one was home.

– Police in the 900 block of Benton Road at 1:49 a.m. Saturday detected an odor of natural gas in front of a building and stood by until Columbia Gas arrived.

– Police responded to the 1000 block of Jennings Avenue at 10:23 p.m. Friday for a report of reckless operation and located multiple vehicles in a parking lot and all the drivers were advised to leave the area.

-At 7:33 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 600 block of East Euclid Street for a report of domestic violence. The complainant advised there was a verbal dispute with her adult son that turned physical and he threw her to the ground causing injury to her knee. He fled the residence, and police checked the area and were unable to locate him. Charges are pending.

-Police served an outstanding warrant on Laura C. Blake, 140 Woodland Ave. at 5:31 p.m. Friday from Columbiana County for failure to appear on a possession of drug abuse instruments charge. She was turned over to sheriff deputies.

– A Kurtz Road, Minerva, man was reported dead at his home at 4:35 a.m. Wednesday. Family members reported the 62-year-old man had knee surgery on Monday and was released from the hospital on Tuesday.

– A traffic crash was reported in the Lake Tomahawk community at 4:35 a.m. Thursday. Eric Rayl, Molala Cove, Negley, reported he was traveling on Chippewa Trail and when he crested the hill, the brakes were hard. He was able to control the vehicle, a 1998 Subaru Legacy, until he came to a curve on Pontiac Trail. He struck a pole and a deck, destroying the deck.

– Terry Gott, Georgetown -Damascus Road, Beloit, reported at 11:51 a.m. Thursday she allowed Jacob Shewell to stay at her home around Christmas because he was homeless. Now she realizes he has issues and has been returning to the house despite being told he needs to leave. She reported he threatened her. Shewell called deputies claiming he paid her $400 per month for two months rent around Thanksgiving, but he had no receipt. Deputies grave him other options in the Alliance area to seek shelter.

– Dipak Patel of Barnett’s Motel, U.S. Route 62, Salem, reported at 11:57 a.m. Thursday a man signed into a room using the name Mike Hines, Grange Road, East Fairfield, and when Patel went to clean the room on Thursday the 32-inch TV was missing. Patel called the phone number the man gave, but there was no answer and the address was false.

– Deputies found a front door open to a home owned by Roy McIntosh, Bentwood Road, New Waterford, at 3:38 p.m. Thursday. Deputies checked the house, but did not find anyone inside. McIntosh was contacted.

– Michelle Fisher, state Route 45, Wellsville, reported at 9:44 p.m. Thursday she has been accused by family of punching an 8-year-old, which she said she did not do, and now is being harassed on Facebook by her brother-in-law’s sister.

– Teresa Kress, Westville Lake Road, Beloit, reported at 7:34 p.m. Thursday her children told her someone was at the back door and she found a dirty man with a knit cap walking to the door. He began mumbling words to her while she was on the phone with dispatchers and then got into his van driving up the neighbor’s driveway into their yard. Kress’ husband asked the man, who identified himself as Justin Klimp, what he was there for and he reportedly became slightly irritated and left. Then the van went up and down the street multiple times. Deputies checked the area, but did not locate the van.

– Deputies assisted the Ohio Highway Patrol after a man was reportedly found sleeping on a bottle of Carlo Rossi sweet red grape wine in his vehicle in the area of state Route 14 in Unity at 6:28 p.m. Thursday. An opened bottle of Christian Brothers Brandy was also confiscated from the vehicle. Raymond B. Frank, 72, state Route 14, New Waterford, was tested at the East Palestine police department where he reportedly had a BAC reading of .243.

Highway Patrol

– Travis R. Gray, 22, Schneider Road, Hanoverton, went off the road and overturned while driving a pickup truck on Teegarden Road in Hanover Township at 2:20 p.m. Thursday. Gray was cited for failure to control.

– James M. Bowersock, 27, Clarkson Road, Rogers, went off the road into a ditch and overturned while driving a Jeep Wrangler on state Route 7 in Elkrun Township at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday. Bowersock was cited for failure to control.

– Frank L. Lichtenwainer, 62, Neeld Road, East Palestine, went off the road and into a ditch while driving a pickup truck on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. He was cited for failure to control.

Center Township

– Police were called Jan. 1 a medical emergency at 7632 Rose Drive Apt. 41. Upon arrival, police found that KLG was advised by Life Alert that there was a medical emergency at the residence. KLG had already attempted to contact the resident by knocking on the door and received no answer. The county sheriff’s office reported they attempted to contact the apartment complex manager but with no success. Police opened the door and located the resident, who said she must have accidentally pushed her Life Alert button.

– A caller reported Jan. 3. there was suspected drug activity near the bridge on on Grant Street. Upon arrival, police located two people sitting in the vehicle, and upon further investigation drug paraphernalia was found. Charges are pending.

Columbiana

– Eric Davidson, 29, of Columbiana, reported ran a stop sign, with his vehicle striking a vehicle operated by Amy Logan, 37, of Columbiana. The accident occurred on Parkview Drive at 8:21 a.m. Thursday, and Davidson was cited for failure to control.

– Ron Fraser came to the police station on Thursday to talk with an officer about phone harassment.

– A woman reported there were four cars parked behind the residence at 268 S. Elm St. at 10:46 p.m. Thursday, and three men had gotten out. Police arrived and determined the men worked at Col-Pump.

East Liverpool

– Driving a van owned by W.C. Bunting Co., Robert C. Jackson, 35, West Fifth Street, was eastbound on state Route 39 Tuesday when he lost control of the vehicle on the Broadway overpass due to icy conditions. The van struck the guardrail separating state Route 39 from the 2nd Street ramp, causing significant damage to the front of the vehicle. It was towed by First Class Towing. No injuries or charges were reported.

Perry Township

– Police responded to a report at 4:30 a.m. Friday of a semi tractor trailer being stuck on the hill on state Route 344 west of Cunningham Road. Police spoke with the driver who said the trailer was empty and he couldn’t make it up the hill.

– A woman on Canterbury Lane called police at 8:30 p.m. Thursday regarding harassment. The woman who said she heard police knocking but she refused to answer or give any information about the harassment.

– A woman in the 1900 block of South Lincoln Avenue called at 8:10 p.m. Thursday to request police check around her apartment after her dog alerted to suspicious noises outside, possibly from a prowler. Officers checked the area, but didn’t find anyone and didn’t see any footprints in the snow.

– Ericka Cash, Clewell Drive, Lisbon, reported Thursday that sometime overnight someone broke out the back window of her 2011 Ford Escape. She found a large block of ice laying by the rear bumper.

– John A. McIntosh, 42, Mechanicstown, Hanoverton, was northbound on Gavers Road in Hanover Township at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday. William R. Pitts, 57, McKaig Road, Hanoverton, was turning right onto Gavers Road from R&R Road and failed to yield from a stop sign and struck McIntosh. Pitts was cited for failure to yield.

– Sadie Regan Martin, 18, Holmeswood Drive, Winona, was southbound on Cunningham Road in Salem Township at 12:58 p.m. Tuesday and Nicholas A. Blower, 20, Waterford Road, East Palestine, was northbound and they sideswiped vehicles.

– Frank L. McKibben, 56, Aliquippa, Pa., was northbound on state Route 644 in Franklin Township at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday and was struck by Lisa M. Higgins, 20, Fink Road, Kensington, who was southbound and went left of center. Higgins was cited for failure to control and taken to the Salem hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

– Dean W. Pahanish, 22, Pine Street, Leetonia, was backing into a private drive on the east edge of Depot Road in Butler Township at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday. James A. Utt, 28, Salem-Alliance Road, Salem, was northbound on Depot Road and swerved to avoid Pahanish and went off the right side of the road into two bushes.

Columbiana

– Police notified Norfolk and Southern at 1:16 a.m. Wednesday the crossing gates at Pittsburgh and East Railroad streets were malfunctioning.

– Police assisted the driver of a vehicle that went into a ditch on Columbiana-Waterford Road until the highway patrol arrived at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

– Beaver Township police reported at 11:16 a.m. Thursday a reckless driver was headed toward the city from their township. Police checked but did not see the vehicle.

– A woman reported at 11:26 a.m. Thursday a child had been absent from the school and the parents were not returning calls or e-mails. Police spoke with the child’s mother who denied having received any communications from the school.

– A man reported at 4:17 p.m. Thursday there was a man inside Kevin’s Barber Shop who appeared to be drunk and then left in a vehicle. Police checked the area but did not find the vehicle.

– Breanne Little, 27, Columbiana, was arrested on a warrant through the sheriff’s office for failure to appear at 7:39 p.m. Thursday near James Street and Brenda Lane.

East Palestine

– Christopher P. Foerster, address not listed, reported at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday he left a bluetooth speaker at the laundromat on West Taggart Street after doing some laundry and when he returned to get it someone had already taken it.

– Police went to American Health Care on West Main Street at 4:53 p.m. Wednesday Supervisor Kathy Coil reported the resident had been a problem the last two days and couldn’t get along with anyone. The woman told police a staff member started causing problems with her as soon as she returned home which caused her to be upset. Coil said the resident was involved in a verbal confrontation with another client and also would not listen to supervisors, and that she had contacted the woman’s case worker, who said to have her jailed if she would not listen. Police told Coil that the woman could not be arrested because she had no committed any crimes.

– John Winters, age and address not listed, was arrested on an outstanding warrant through Mahoning County Common Pleas court at 12:17 p.m. Tuesday on West Martin Street.

Salem Township

– Sandy and Oren Smith, Grafton Road, reported Wednesday a person they know stole the following from their home: 33-gallon Craftsman Red Air compressor, Phillips 32-inch flat screen HD, 4,000 watt Champion generator and a Craftsman 2,200 PSI pressure washer.

– Stephanie Humphrey, 21, of 672 N. Howard Ave., was charged with domestic violence after police were called to her residence at 6:01 a.m. Thursday for a domestic in progress.

– A city housing inspector requested assistance from police at 9:35 a.m. Thursday to check 922 W. Pershing St., the site of at least two meth lab drug raids last year. Huntington Bank now owns the property and had contractors there to winterize and secure the property. The property had previously been posted for all persons to stay out, but it was believed people had been there. The home had space heaters running with some lights on and there was cat poop all over the floors with clutter and personal items all over the house on all floors.

– Police responded to a report of kids on the roof of a residence in the 200 block of North Madison at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday. The mother who said she would take care of the problem.

– Lines were reported sparking in the area of Aetna and Homewood at 6:54 p.m. Wednesday. Ohio Edison was called.

– Tara Brown, 50, of 1294 Carole Drive, was cited for an excessive barking dog violation after police were contacted at 6:21 p.m. Wednesday for a barking dog on Carole Drive. The caller said the dog had been outside in the cold weather for an extended period and no one was home.

– Nickole Hoschar, 22, of 3012 Middleton Road, Columbiana, was charged with theft after police were called to Walmart on East State Street for an alleged shoplifter at 5:13 p.m. Wednesday. A store loss prevention officer had the female detained.

– Police were called to the 300 block of West Eighth at 3:50 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a recovered stolen vehicle. The owner was contacted and responded to retrieve it.

– Police responded to the 800 block of East State Street at 2:49 p.m. Wednesday to speak with a woman who said she was approached by a female at a different location in town and now the same female was at her current location. She was concerned that the female was following her. An officer escorted the woman to her vehicle so she could leave. The female in question was an apparent mistake and had not been following the woman.

– City streets supervisor Jim Phillis called police at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday about two vehicles causing parking problems at Lincoln and Fourth. No violations were found.

– Police responded at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday for a complaint about a parked Jeep blocking an alley in the 900 block of East Third Street. The owner was contacted and said he would move it.

Goshen Police District

– Police responded to a possible domestic dispute on French Street in Damascus at 12:25 a.m. Dec. 14 and found it to be verbal only.

– Police responded to a theft report at Brunk’s RV on state Route 45 at 2:16 p.m. Dec. 15.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn girls home at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 where a juvenile resident reported another juvenile resident had punched and choked her.

– Police responded to the Sharon Lynn girls home at 8:28 p.m. Dec. 18 where a man reported a juvenile resident assaulted him while he was attempting to remove her from the home.

– Jessica Susan McComas, 22, Boardman, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in Green Township at 11:50 p.m. Dec. 18 in which she was eastbound in the 9000 block of Western Reserve Road and lost control of the vehicle, spinning into a mailbox and guardrail before coming to rest. No injuries were reported.

– Jennifer Anne Hepfner, 21, Salem, was cited for failure to control following a one-vehicle crash in Goshen Township at 12:50 a.m. Dec. 19 in which she was northbound on Goshen Road north of Kent Road and traveled off the roadway, striking a ditch and overturning. No injuries were reported.

– Police responded to a theft report in the 6200 block of Green Valley Road at 2:05 a.m. Dec. 20.

– Police responded to a burglary report in the 9800 block of state Route 165 at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 23.

– Police responded to a criminal damaging report in the 12000 block of Goshen Road at 7:09 p.m. Dec. 23.

– Kristy Lyn Courtwright, 16, North Benton, was cited for assured clear distance ahead following a two-vehicle crash in Green Township at 1:40 p.m. Dec. 25 in which she was eastbound on state Route 165 and failed to slow for traffic stopped at state Route 45, striking the rear of a vehicle driven by Austen L. Hutton, 25, Salem. No injuries were reported.

– Police responded to a 5000 block Middletown home at 7:37 p.m. Jan. 2 where a resident reported her son was refusing to the leave. An officer stood by while the man collected his belongings and left.

St. Clair Township

– Charges are pending after officers were called to Grimm’s Bridge Road where a property owner reported finding several bags of trash and two newspaper boxes dumped. He said this has been an ongoing problem and he wants charges filed. Officers determined from the county auditor’s website that a piece of mail in the trash belonged to an Oakmont Avenue address owned by Riverview Property Management, Kinds Ridge Road. They went to the property and spoke with the tenant to determine why the trash and other items were dumped. They reported charges are pending.

– Called to Harding Avenue for a welfare check, officers determined the resident was fine.

– Robert L. Adams, 39, no address listed, flagged down an officer and reported a man he knows tried to run him off the road on state Route 170 near Sheetz.

– Officers responded to Walmart for a shoplifter and found the suspect was a juvenile. Store management decided to let her pay for the items, and officers transported the girl home and released her to her mother.

– Responding to Walmart for a possible theft, officers were told by loss prevention officers about several incidents in the last few weeks. Information was turned over to the detectives’ bureau for further investigation.

– Bridgette Coburn, Waterford Road, East Palestine, reported at 6 p.m. Tuesday her live-in boyfriend Mark Milnes was drunk and calling her names. Deputies spoke to Milnes, who said he locked himself in his bedroom trying to stay away from her. Both told deputies there was no physical violence and Milnes decided to leave for the evening. He was given a ride to Gorby’s in East Palestine.

– Tara Kincaid, calling on behalf of Tom Green, U.S. Route 30, Minerva, reported at 2:41 p.m. Tuesday Green came home from the hospital after being away for sometime to find someone stole his 32-inch Vizio TV.

Highway Patrol

– Trevor M. Floyd, 18, Richardson Avenue, Negley, was westbound on state Route 154 in Middleton Township at 9:44 a.m. Tuesday and went off the right side into two trees. He was cited for failure to control.

– Matthew Charles Fay, 16, West Garfield Avenue, Columbiana,was westbound on Metz Road in Fairfield Township at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday and attempted to stop for traffic ahead and went off the right side into a mailbox. No citations were issued.

– Jason S. Singer, 34, Lisbon Road, Salem, was southbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday and lost control going off the right side and struck a guardrail twice then went off into the median. He was cited for failure to control.

– Michael D. Joy, 40, West Main Street, Salineville, was eastbound on state Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday and lost control and went off the right side into a guardrail. He was cited for failure to control.

– Nathan Josey Blakely, 18, Seigler Road, Lisbon, was northeastbound on state Route 517 in Elkrun Township at 10 a.m. Monday and went off the north side into a garbage can and a tree. He was cited for failure to control.

Lisbon

– A caller reported there was a suspicious man leaving the Circle K parking lot at 2:18 a.m. Tuesday. Police caught up with the driver in a driveway on Beaver Street, and the man said he stopped at the convenience store to purchase cigarettes. There was nothing suspicious about the man, and the store clerk on duty said he acted fine when in the store.

Columbiana

– John Dailey, South Main Street, reported at 6:41 a.m. Tuesday two bikes were laying between cars in the parking lot on South Main Street.

– Police assisted the driver of a tractor-trailer on East Park Avenue at 4 p.m. Tuesday who was attempting to find Oaks Welding. Police stood by until the driver made it into the parking lot and the roadway was clear. At 4:23 p.m. police assisted the driver of another tractor-trailer who was attempting to enter the parking lot of a business on state Route 14 near Red Path Road.

– Becky McMurry, Stanton Avenue, reported at 7:44 p.m. Tuesday she was receiving harassing phone calls from someone she knows.

Salem Township

– Gretchen Hull, Leetonia Road, reported Monday that sometime in November someone charged over $600 from Amazon on her Chase account. Hull also reported receiving a letter from a loan center informing her someone has tried to open an account and take out a loan twice using her personal information, but they denied the request.

St. Clair Township

– Walmart security called to have two women removed from the store and charged with trespassing, telling officers they had been told on more than one occasion to stop soliciting store customers to purchase cosmetics from them. They were carrying the cosmetics in cases throughout the store. The women could not be located in the store by officers, who were given a license plate number from the vehicle they occupied.

– Carol L. Shamp, no address listed, reported her bank card stolen from her car at her East Liverpool home and used at Walmart.

– Cheryl Bredeck, address not listed, reported three unauthorized withdrawals from her bank account within 30 days.

– A newspaper carrier reported paper boxes removed from in front of Hoge’s Restaurant on East Liverpool Road overnight Sunday.

Salem

– No citations were issued after a collision at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Howard and West State Street. A southbound vehicle driven by Travis Sorrells, 30, of New Garden Avenue, had the green light and traveled through the intersection when a westbound vehicle driven by Brittney Hobbs, 20, of Salineville, tried to stop but couldn’t due to slick road conditions, striking the driver side front area of Sorrells’ vehicle. No injuries were reported.

– A resident on Homewood Avenue reported at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday that a male from a residence on Franklin has been walking through his property and riding a bike through it even though he has asked him not to trespass. An officer was attempting contact with the male.

– A 16-year-old Lisbon boy and a 17-year-old East Rochester boy were each cited for reckless operation on private property after police were called to the high school lot off of F.E. Cope Drive at 8:23 p.m. Tuesday for vehicles doing doughnuts on the snow-covered lot. Police arrived and saw a pickup and a car doing just that. The rear wheel of the pickup slid off of the blacktop and became temporarily stuck in the grass.

– Police stood by at a residence in the 1100 block of North Ellsworth at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, per a court order, while a man gathered his belongings.

– An area business owner residing on North Howard Street reported a possible scam at 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, saying a person contacted him via text message seeking replacement of a residential roof located outside of the city. He communicated with the person several times via text and drove to the residence in question, finding the home for sale with a real estate sign in the yard. He became suspicious after the person sent more texts saying the customer was in the hospital and asking him to draw $8,500 from the customer’s credit card to use $2,500 to get the job started and depositing $6,000 into the person’s account. The business owner contacted the realtor and was told the homeowner was not seeking a roof replacement because it was less than 10 years old. The report said it was clearly an attempt to scam him into depositing money into his account after which time the scammer would claim the transaction was fraudulent. The bank also explained the scam to him. An officer obtained the suspect’s phone number, which was not local.

– An officer spoke with a resident in the 500 block of Stewart Avenue at 5:21 p.m. Tuesday in reference to an extra watch of the neighborhood.

– Officers on patrol at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday saw a juvenile in the 700 block of North Ellsworth struggling with a bicycle. They took the juvenile home due to the extreme temperatures.

County Sheriff

– Darlene Young, Bayview, Beloit, reported at 10:24 a.m. Friday the neighbor’s truck damaged their pavement and threw mud all over the home. Photos were taken of the damage. The matter will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

– Raymond Early, Bye Road, East Palestine, reported at 11:41 a.m. Friday someone stole mail from his mailbox. His mail carrier picked up the mail early Thursday, but did not get his mail, which had two checks inside. The door was open on his mailbox and the flag was still up. Early canceled the checks and closed the accounts associated with them.

– Kerri Steffel, state Route 9, Kensington, reported at 1:37 p.m. Monday someone she knows continues to call and text her, as well as continually showing up at her home. She has told him she is not interested in having any type of relationship with him and feels she is being stalked. Deputies called John Seddon and explained he is to have no further contact with Steffel or charges could be filed. Seddon claimed Steffel owes him money and deputies told him to go through the courts to collect the money.

– Dorothy McKinley, Winona Road, Salem, reported suspicious activity at 11:13 a.m. Monday. Her grandson, Mike, reported someone came to the house and knocked on all the doors. There were footprints going to all the doors and to a couple windows.

Highway Patrol

– Daniel C. Shogren, 55, state Route 45, Leetonia, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 6 p.m. Friday and went off the right side into a ditch and a small bush. He was cited for failure to control.

– Misty M. Heaton, 37, state Route 518, Lisbon, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 9:40 a.m. Saturday and slid off the right side into a guardrail and then spun off the left side of the road into another guardrail. She was cited for failure to control.

– Thomas H. Illig, 74, Burford Street, East Liverpool, and Howard E. Williams, 50, Main Street, Wellsville, were westbound on Lisbon Street in Wellsville at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Williams stopped at the stop sign at state Route 45 and was struck from behind by Illig. Illig was cited for assured clear distance. Williams was taken to the East Liverpool Hospital with possible injuries.

– Theodore H. Tsesmilles, 40, Emerick Road, Kensington, was westbound on state Route 518 in Franklin Township at 8:25 a.m. Saturday and lost control on the snow-covered road and went off the right side into a ditch and overturned. No citations were issued.

Columbiana

– Police notified Norfolk and Southern at 3:23 p.m. Monday the crossing gates at the Pittsburgh and South Main crossing were malfunctioning.

– Police assisted a disabled pickup truck that was in a ditch on state Route 14 near The Links at Firestone Farms at 4:24 p.m. Monday. The driver told police they had pulled over and did not realize there was a ditch there. AAA was notified and the vehicle was towed. There was no property or vehicle damage.

Lisbon

– A caller reported there was a suspicious vehicle parked at the corner of Pritchard Avenue Extension and Brown Street at 4 p.m. Saturday. Police found a vehicle parked in a no parking zone, and a person who identified himself as the owner came out of a home and agreed to move the vehicle into the driveway.

– Police assisted a sheriff’s deputy in arresting Timothy Wamsley Jr. at a North Market Street residence at 5:37 p.m. Saturday.

– Police kept an eye on a couple of people while Center Township officer Adam Little searched a vehicle just south of the bridge on South Market Street following a traffic stop at 2:37 p.m. Sunday.

– An official with the Vista Center reported Friday there was a possible theft of drugs by an employee.

– Karen Llewellyn, South Main Street, Columbiana, backed into another vehicle in the Circle K parking lot at 9 p.m. Thursday. The other vehicle was driven by Shannon Rebolt of Port Washington.

– Police were called to the Save A Lot on Dec. 22 in regard to a female customer attempting to pay with a counterfeit $50 bill. The officer used a special pen and determined it was counterfeit. The customer, Mandy Donaldson, 31, said she received the $50 bill from Cashland in Salem three days before. She was told to tell her husband to bring in any other $50 bills he might still have. He brought a $50 bill to the station and it passed the test.

– Police were called to Applegrove apartments at 9:48 a.m. Dec. 18 in regard to dispute between residents. The one person at the center of the dispute agreed to be transported by ambulance to a local hospital to be examined.

Salem

-Police responded to a private property accident at Jimmy Murphy’s Auto Sales on North Ellsworth Avenue at 7:26 a.m. Tuesday where an employee said he was parking his personal vehicle and struck a 2003 PT Cruiser owned by the dealership.

– An officer was stopped at 1:36 a.m. Tuesday by a man in the north lot of SRMC who he was at the car wash on South Lincoln when a man approached him and asked for a light. He turned to the inside of his vehicle to get a lighter and was hit on the back of the head. He was hit several more times and heard another man telling the assailant to get his wallet. He said he then began to fight back and got in a few hits. The two males retreated to a dark-colored Toyota pickup and fled. One was described as about 25 years old, 6 feet tall with a medium build, a dark complexion, and dark short hair with a thin mustache wearing blue jeans. The other one was described as a white male, 6 feet 2 with a husky build, 200 pounds wearing blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

– An officer on patrol at 10:32 p.m. Monday saw a vehicle parked in the dead-end lot of Memorial Park off of Superior. The officer affirmed there was no criminal activity, although one was found to be under a license suspension

– A Monroe Street resident reported Monday two large elf decorations were taken.

– An anonymous person spoke to an officer at the police station at 4:06 p.m. Monday to provide information pertaining to several business permit violations possibly occurring in the city.

Perry Township

– Police on patrol at 12:06 p.m. Sunday on Prospect Street heard loud screaming/yelling coming from a residence. It was an argument between friends over money. They were advised of the consequences if police had to return for the same problem.

– A resident on Hampton Place reported a suspicious vehicle at 10:44 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle was found unoccupied and it appeared someone wrote with window paint on the vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who said friends wrote on the vehicle as a joke and he would wash it off.

– Police and KLG Ambulance responded to the 700 block of Stewart Road at 10:20 a.m. Saturday for a female who slipped on the ice and hurt her knee. She was transported to SRMC by KLG.

Police

County Sheriff

– Amy Cooper, state Route 7, New Waterford, reported at 2:35 p.m. Friday someone stole the keys out of a truck owned by someone identified in the report only as Bill and flattened his tires. Neither Bill nor Cooper saw it happen, but Cooper suggested it could be her ex-boyfriend, who has reportedly made multiple threats and has been harassing her.

– John Hartman and Dan Hale of Safe Guard went to a home on Slater Road, Salem, to do an inspection and they reported at 12:54 p.m. Friday items were missing from inside the home. The back door had been kicked in and the furnace, electric wires, two AC units and copper plumbing were missing. Holes were punched in the walls and the counter. Someone also spray-painted the windows.

– Dee Varagon, Clark Mill Road, Salineville, reported at 1 a.m. Sunday her 17-year-old son texted her and said he was staying at the neighbor’s. The neighbor’s son told his mother he was staying at Varagon’s. The mothers could not find either boy and the boys would not answer their phones. The mothers both refused to file missing persons reports.

– A neighbor of a home on Old Route 344, Leetonia, reported at 1:11 a.m. Sunday he broke up an underage drinking party. He said the teens had fled, possibly toward Leetonia. The party was being hosted by the 17-year-old stepdaughter of his neighbor, who was out of town.

– Amy Young, Forbes Road, Wellsville, reported at 1:02 a.m. Saturday someone was attempting to break into her home to assault someone. Deputies stopped the vehicle as it was leaving. Inside were multiple people, including Young’s son, Wayne Young, who said he got a text message from his mother. According to the message, his mother’s boyfriend had hit her in the mouth and she thought her jaw was broken. He had gone over to get his mother and beat up her boyfriend. Deputies spoke with Amy Young separately from her boyfriend. She admitted she was smacked and spit on twice by him, but she did not want to pursue charges. The boyfriend, Walter Short, admitted he hit her and spit on her. He reported someone broke out the window of his vehicle, but decided not to pursue charges and agreed to leave.

– Graig Dowling, state Route 170, Negley, reported at 10:13 p.m. Friday he was having problems with his neighbors constantly wanting things from him. On Friday they had come over asking for money and when he refused, they reportedly made threats toward him and his family. Deputies spoke to Ethel Stanford and Jamie Tice next door. Stanford said her son and Graig were arguing and it had gotten out of hand. Both men were told to stay away from each other.

– The highway patrol asked deputies to respond to an accident reported off Hoffee Road, Hanoverton, at 5:56 p.m. Saturday. It was found a van had been exiting a driveway when it went off the road and struck two trees. The homeowners nearby had left at noon and noticed the van when they returned home. The van’s owner, Jeffrey L. Falk Jr., North Lincoln Avenue, Salem, was not there. Salem police also could not locate Falk at his home. His roommate told them Falk was not home. On Sunday, Falk reported he had crashed the vehicle due to a medical condition. He said he had been driving, began to get migraines and attempted to turn around in the driveway. His vision got blurry and he crashed into the trees. He was cited with operating a vehicle in willful disregard of safety to property and failure to stop after an accident. Deputies also submitted his information for a new driver’s license examination due to his vision problems reportedly leading to the accident.

– Robert Borden reported at 3:22 p.m. Sunday someone kicked in the door of his mother’s house on Scroggs Road and ransacked it.

Highway Patrol

– Richard K. Kimble III, 44, Carey Road, Salem, was eastbound on U.S. 30 in Madison Township at 11:32 a.m. Sunday and hit a deer.

– Payton Elizabeth Albano, 18, West Clark Street, East Palestine, was eastbound on state Route 558 in Fairfield Township at 12:45 a.m. Sunday and went left of center off the road into a ditch and an embankment. No citations were issued.

– Theresa Sylvia Keating, 53, East Main Street, Salineville, was westbound on state Route 39 in Washington Township at 2 p.m. Saturday and went off the right side into a guardrail face and then off the left side into a ditch and rolled over. She was cited for failure to control.

– Brian L. Catterlin, 60, Girard, was southbound on state Route 11 in Elkrun Township at 7:45 a.m. Saturday and slid into the grass median and overturned on the left side. No citations were issued.

– Eric J. Boucher, 40, Westerville, was southwestbound on state Route 518 in Madison Township at 7:45 a.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle owned by Daniel J. Bailey, Canfield, that was disabled and partially on the road. No citations were issued.

– Samantha J. Bates, 27, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, was westbound on U.S. 30 in Center Township at 5 p.m. Friday and struck Deliesha C. Folden, 29, Huntington, W.Va., who was entering U.S. 30 from state Route 172 east and failed to yield from a stop sign. The impact caused Folden to go off the road into a car owned by Tracy Williams, U.S. Route 30, Lisbon, that was parked in a private drive. Folden’s vehicle then continued into a tree and a light post and overturned. She was cited for failure to yield. Taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries were Bates, Folden and Folden’s three passengers, Camielle Folden, 11, Charleston, W.Va., and Camren Clements, 6, and Malaya Wayde, 9, both of Huntington, W.Va.

– Logen R. Andrews, 19, state Route 39, Wellsville, was westbound on Route 39 in Yellow Creek Township at midnight Thursday and went off the right side into a ditch and overturned, then went off the left side into a fence post and overturned again. He was cited for failure to control, OVI and OVI underage.

Lisbon

– Robert D. Wagner, 44, West Chestnut Street, was cited for OVI and driving with expired license plates at 1:24 a.m. Sunday.

– Daniel Delp, Bethesda Road, Kensington, reportedly backed his pickup truck into a van being driven by Janice Wiley, Brookfield Avenue, while they were waiting in the drive-through line at Home Savings at 10:09 a.m. Friday. Wiley had changed lines and Delp said he did not see her pull in behind him until it was too late.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 5:44 a.m. Saturday two suspicious men were riding bicycles on Main Street from East Park Avenue and were wearing dark colored clothing. Police checked the area but did not see the men.

– Police conducted a welfare check on a Windrose Court resident at 6:22 a.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call from a person who appeared to be confused. The resident was fine and in the company of their caregiver.

– Linda Porter reported at 1:58 p.m. Saturday her son Matthew Porter took her vehicle from Fairfield Avenue without permission. Porter, 32, also of Columbiana, was arrested for auto theft at 6:36 p.m. on Fairfield School Road.

Salem Township

– Constable Dan Valentine reported that Brenda Deangelis, Carrie Lane, called in another burning report from Grafton Road. Valentine and Leetonia firefighters responded and determined the homeowner was not burning anything illegal.

Liverpool Township

– While on patrol Sunday, an officer observed a vehicle parked partially in a private drive and partially in the roadway, blocking traffic on Clark Street. The driver, Joseph A. Bredeck, 31, Princeton Avenue, reportedly told the officer his girlfriend had been driving the vehicle but was inside the house and asked him to sit in the driver’s seat since the vehicle was parked halfway on the road. The officer learned, however, that Bredeck had driven another man to the house and had a suspended driver’s license. While talking with Bredeck, the officer reported he had a burned silver spoon containing brown residue believed to be heroin and also a needle. Bredeck told the officer his girlfriend had been wearing his coat earlier and the paraphernalia was hers. He was charged with parking prohibitions, driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to county jail. His vehicle was towed by Complete Auto.

– Kennith R. Jordan, 41, 320 W. Pidgeon Road, Salem, was charged with driving under suspension and drug paraphernalia after stopping in a vehicle to speak with an officer at the scene of an investigation in the 1500 block of Stone Castle Trail at 4:47 p.m. Sunday, and was known to have a forfeited license. His passenger, Joshua C. Board, 24, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Salem, was cited for wrongful entrustment.

– Police responded to the 1000 block of East Third Street at 6:31 p.m. Sunday for a report of a runaway juvenile. The kid was not there.

– Officers responded to a report of an open door on a storage building of a closed business in the 100 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 8:12 p.m. Sunday. The officers checked the interior and secured the door.

– A Monroe Street resident reported at 10:33 p.m. Sunday that a man was harassing her and her adult daughter via text messages. An officer left a voice message telling the man to stop.

– Police responded to a domestic dispute in the 300 block of Fair Avenue and found a live-in couple in a verbal argument. They agreed to stay away from each other until they calmed down.

– A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with two occupants parked at Waterworth Memorial Park after hours at 1:25 a.m. Monday. They said they were just talking and were advised to move along.

– Officers responded to a report of an open door in the 1100 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 7:14 a.m. Monday and found the building unoccupied.

– Police responded to the 300 block of Vine Avenue at 7:52 a.m. Monday where a resident reported she believed she dropped her keys next to her car the previous night and that she found it missing that morning. There was obvious signs that it had been moved after it snowed due to the dry spot where it had been parked and tracks leaving the area.

– An officer responded to an alarm at a business in the 1000 block of East State Street at 8:30 a.m. Monday and found that the keyholder had accidentally set it off.

– Police responded to the 1100 block of East State Street at 9:14 a.m. Monday where a woman reported someone apparently struck the east side of the building with a vehicle, damaging the vinyl, sometime within the past several days.

– A man reported on station at 11:58 a.m. Monday that a former tenant had been sending him harassing text messages and that he did not want any contact with her.

– Officers served a secret indictment on Joe Michael Smith, 29, 367 W. Ninth St., Salem, at a Fair Avenue home at 1:43 p.m. Monday.

– Police responded to a Merle Road home at 2:43 p.m. Monday for a report of someone breaking into a residence through the back door and found that a bank had contractors working at the home.

– Police responded to a business in the 2800 block of East State Street at 2:54 p.m. Monday for a report of a child left unattended in a vehicle. The vehicle had left prior to officer’s arrival, but the complainant provided license plate information.

– A Southeast Boulevard resident reported at 2:58 p.m. Monday that she replied to a text message she received from a number she believed belonged to a friend, but later realized it didn’t. She said the person continued to text her despite being told to stop. An officer left a voice message telling the person to stop.

Goshen Police District

– Hiram Diaz, 48, 12012 W. Calla Road, Salem, was charged with felonious assault and misdemeanor domestic violence after Cpl. John Calko and Officer Troy Mackall responded to his home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday where they found his wife, Yaisa El Quintana, 29, covered in blood and screaming at the front door. Officers determined Diaz and Quintana had been arguing in their bedroom when he punched her in the face multiple times then wrapped a cloth belt around her neck and choked her. Quintana declined medical treatment and did not wish to pursue charges. Diaz claimed that Quintana caused the injuries herself. Neither wished to provide a written statement. During the investigation officers found that a witness who attempted to calm down Diaz, Quintana’s stepfather, Gregorio Soriano, 45, of Philadelphia, had an active warrant out of Philadelphia for failure to register as a sex offender. He was arrested.

– Timothy Allen Yeager, 28, Struthers, was charged with OVI, driving under suspension and left of center after a traffic stop on Beaver Creek Road at state Route 165 at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 31. His passenger, Seirra Dawn Yeager, 19, Youngstown, was cited for possession of pot.

Police

East Liverpool

– While on patrol, an officer reported seeing a vehicle cross over the double yellow line on Jefferson Street, nearly striking oncoming traffic. The driver, Teja Isleman, 19, Hubbard, smelled strongly of marijuana as did her vehicle. She gave officers permission to search the vehicle, and they reported finding marijuana seeds and pieces of marijuana throughout. Isleman was cited for driving left of center and for possession of marijuana. Officers reported that Isleman advised she was unable to smell the marijuana inside her vehicle due to regularly smoking it.

– Officers responded to a disturbance at a Wilbert Avenue residence where they reported Norm Merritt and Tracey Graham were arguing over numerous issues, including their baby, Merritt’s girlfriend and the fact that buying formula instead of crickets for the lizard was stressful to Merritt. Domestic violence laws were explained.

– Called to Holliday Street, officers found an 18-year-old man highly intoxicated, lying unconscious in front of his residence, extremely cold. A guardian reported he had been outside 20 minutes. The young man was transported to the hospital by ambulance after a sternum rub administered by officers failed to evoke a response.

– Tonika Vantilburg, address not listed, reported her car keyed while in the East Liverpool City Hospital parking lot.

– Brett M. Craig, North Shadylane, reported someone broke into his apartment and stole a 40-inch television.

– A vehicle driven by Jackie Riley, College Street, was struck by another vehicle which left the scene. Riley was able to take a photo of the other vehicle’s license plate, and clerks at a drive-through recognized the driver as Kyle Fenton, 23, Globe Street. Officers went to his home and advised his father that Fenton had been involved in the accident. The following day, Fenton came to the police station and was cited for failure to control and leaving the scene.

St. Clair Township

– Haleigh M. Clutter, 18, Campground Road, Wellsville, was southbound on East Liverpool Road, turning left onto state Route 170 in the inside lane, while Warren J. Kale, 89, Howell Avenue, East Palestine, was southbound in the outside lane, also turning onto state Route 170 when he crossed the center line, striking Clutter’s vehicle. No injuries or charges were reported.

– Janet S. O’Hanlon, 77, Sprucevale Road, told officers she was southbound on Sprucevale Road, stopped at the stop sign and proceeded through the intersection when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by Elizabeth A. Fulton, 46, Toronto, who was eastbound on Calcutta-Smith Ferry Road. Fulton told officers she stopped at the stop sign and proceeded through the intersection and was struck by O’Hanlon’s vehicle. A witness told officers O’Hanlon was already in the intersection when Fulton ran the stop sign, striking her vehicle, which spun around. No charges or injuries were reported.

Salem

– Police responded to a burglary report in the 1500 block of Stone Castle Trail at 3:45 p.m. Saturday.

– An officer responded to a 2400 block Lexington Avenue home at 6:28 p.m. Saturday where a resident had found his front door open upon returning home. The resident said that everything appeared to be OK and nothing missing.

– A boyfriend and girlfriend reported on station at 1:47 a.m. Sunday that they had been in an argument at a West Pershing Street home that had escalated into an altercation. They said they did not live together, and wanted the incident documented.

– Police responded with first responders and ambulance to an Oak Street home at 1:50 a.m. Sunday where a man requested transport to the hospital due to suicidal thoughts.

– Officers responded to the hospital at 3:11 a.m. Sunday for a patient refusing to turn over a pocket knife before treatment. The staff said he gave it up before officers’ arrival.

– A patrolling officer observed a vehicle parked in the high school parking lot at 3:25 a.m. Sunday. The driver was an adult male, but the 16-year-old female passenger was taken into custody for a curfew violation, transported to the station and released to her father.

– Officers responded to the 2100 block of Monroe Street at 4:38 a.m. Sunday for a report of a large fight, but were unable to find it. The complainant said several men had been outside wrestling and were currently inside an apartment being loud. Officers spoke with the men who were indeed being loud and advised them to keep the noise down.

– Police responded to the dead end area of North Madison and Bentley Drive at 5:11 a.m. Sunday where a resident reported a man standing in the wooded area wearing jeans, camouflage jacket and red ball cap. She said he was approximately 50 years old with gray facial hair and had possibly fled back into the woods before officers’ arrival. Officers searched but were unable to find him.

– Officers responded to the 300 block of North Lincoln at 8:54 a.m. Sunday in reference to a distraught person and found a woman who had forgotten where she lived. Medics found that she had low blood sugar and transported her to SRMC for treatment.

– A West Eighth Street man reported Sunday someone overnight had spray painted his garage doors.

– Officers responded to an East 10th Street home at 9:28 a.m. Sunday where the resident wished a man to be removed. The man, identified as William M. Alesi, 30, 195 Hawley Ave., Salem, was arrested on several active warrants out of the sheriff’s office.

– An officer responded to the 200 block of West 16th Street at 12:17 p.m. Sunday in reference to all-terrain vehicles in the roadway, but were unable to find any.

– Police responded to a panic alarm at an 1800 block East State Street business at 12:28 p.m. Sunday, but found that a worker had accidentally set it off.

– Officers responded with Perry Township police to a domestic dispute in the 1300 block of Beechwood Road, but the woman did not wish to pursue the matter and the man left to calm down. There were no apparent signs of physical injuries.

– Police responded to a 1200 block Cedar Ridge Drive at 1:22 p.m. Sunday where a man reported someone overnight had stolen the rear tires and rims off his vehicle while it was parked in his garage.

– A patrolling officer observed a man dressed in hunting attire carrying a black long arm rifle with a strap in the 1400 block of Allen Road at 1:37 p.m. Sunday. The man said that he was hunting deer with a friend. He was warned of the city ordinance prohibiting such action and he and his friend left without incident.

Columbiana

– A loud noise was reported at 3:41 a.m. Friday on South Elm Street. An officer spotted a vehicle behind R’s Pizza that was causing the noise. The owner was advised of the noise and was told to fix it.

– A woman turned in a credit card at 1:38 p.m. Friday that belonged to another woman. The card company was contacted and advised to shred the card.

– Barbara Swick, West Park Avenue, reported at 2:08 p.m. Friday smoke coming from a laundry room, possibly the washer. Fire crews responded and made sure everything was fine and cleared.

– Melanie Scott, North Middle Street, reported at 3:58 p.m. Friday a dog ran loose in her yard. An officer spoke with the owner of the dog and warned him about the dog running loose.

– Logan Bertolette, Fairfield Road, reported at 11:09 p.m. an older red Chevrolet Trailblazer was following Bertolette from Salem on state Route 14 and was shining a light into her vehicle, so she drove to the Columbiana police station. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– Police responded to a panic alarm in the 1700 block of East State Street at 2:26 p.m. Friday, but found that it had been accidentally sounded.

– Bryan K. Dilling, 394 Somer St., Leetonia, was charged with driving under suspension and open container following a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Pershing Street at 6:46 p.m. Friday. During the stop his passenger complained of a medical issue, but refused medical treatment when first responders arrived.

– A patrolling officer observed several juveniles wearing dark clothing riding skate boards in the roadway in the 2400 block of East Pershing Street at 11:18 p.m. Friday. They were warned to stay on the sidewalks.

– Brook Park police reported at 12:50 a.m. Saturday recovering a vehicle reported stolen from Stadium on Dec. 11.

– Brian P. Sexton, 60, 861 Lisbon-Canfield Road, Salem, was charged with open container after a patrolling officer observed him to be intoxicated and walking through the Salem City Schools administration building parking lot on Cleveland Street at 3:26 a.m. Saturday. The officer discovered an open container of beer in his coat pocket.

– Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in the 400 block of West State Street at 7:50 a.m. Saturday in which a motorist had been eastbound on Cranmer Bride and unable to stop on the icy roadway, striking the rear of another vehicle. No injuries were reported and no citations issued.

– An officer responded to a North Union Avenue home at 9:48 a.m. Saturday where a man had slipped and fallen on ice in his driveway near the roadway. The officer stood by while medics attended to him. He was eventually transported via ambulance to the Salem Regional Medical Center.

– Police responded to a North Lincoln Avenue business at 12:37 p.m. Saturday where a woman reported a man she knows had been in regarding a personal issue with her daughter and had made threatening statements toward her co-worker. Officers spoke with the man and warned him to stay away from the woman and the business. He agreed, but wished to file a report alleging his ex-girlfriend had been harassing him regarding the upcoming birth of a child. He was told to contact an attorney for the civil matter and police in the jurisdiction in which he lives for the harassment.

– Police responded to the 130 block of South Broadway at 1:21 p.m. Friday where the store owner advised a man was coming into the store and staying for short periods and not buying anything on his lunch break. The store also reported that a woman had come in selling military items to the business advising they belonged to her brother who was killed in Afghanistan. She had tears in her eyes and the store owner and clerk felt the items were brought back in and were in the store but were never purchased there. The complainant wanted a report and was advised of the options.

– At 1:18 a.m. Friday, police observed a suspicious vehicle in the municipal parking lot in the 500 block of East Pershing Street and two 17-year-olds were charged with being unruly and released to a guardian.

– Police responded to the 100 block of South Howard Avenue for the third and final time regarding loud noises and arrested Tammy J. Souers and Jacob E. Andrews, both of 186 S. Howard Ave., for disorderly conduct persisting.

– Police responded to the 500 block of Franklin Ave. at 3:53 a.m. Friday for a person to be removed. The complainant wanted his girlfriend, who resided at the residence, and her family that did not reside there to leave. An officer explained the options and residence laws.

– Police responded to the the 300 block of West 9th Street at 4:05 a.m. Friday to check on a wanted man for the Columbiana County sheriff. The person was not there.

– At 9:54 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the 500 block of Woodland Avenue where the complainant advised the driver’s side window was broken out while his vehicle was parked in the street. Nothing was reported missing. The officer located another vehicle with the driver’s side window broken out and advised the owner who said he heard a loud noise at 1 a.m.

– At 1:48 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 200 block of West 11th Street where the complainant advised her ex-boyfriend had her DISH Network box and the company advised it will charge her if she doesn’t return it. She was advised it was a civil matter.

– Police responded to the 300 block of West 7th Street at 4:57 p.m. Thursday where the complainant advised his vehicle was damaged while parked in the street the previous evening.

– At 6:08 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 1200 block of Cleveland Street where there was a property dispute and the complainant was advised it was a civil matter.

– Police responded to the 900 block of Prospect Street at 8:40 p.m. Thursday and Shawn A. Timmons, 921 Prospect St., was arrested for domestic violence and taken to the county jail.

– At 8:40 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 100 block of West State Street for a domestic dispute in progress. There was no physical violence and both were advised to go their separate ways for the evening.

– At 10:37 p.m. Thursday, police responded to the 300 block of Jennings Avenue where the complainant advised their vehicle was damaged while parked in the road over night.

Wellsville

– On Jan. 1, a Commerce Street woman reported that between Dec. 30 and Jan. 1 she believes someone had syphoned gasoline out of her 2006 Jeep Liberty while it was parked in Beech Alley. She stated that when she parked her vehicle the gas gauge read hald a tank, but when she started it that day the gauge read a quarter of a tank. She told police that the gas cap was stolen and a rag was found on the ground next to the vehicle. Police told the woman an extra patrol would be made on Beech Alley and to contact police if she saw any suspicious activity.

– On Dec. 30, an Anderson Avenue woman reported her ex-boyfriend, who lives in Midland, had been sending her threatening text messages. The woman told police her ex-boyfriend had threatened to shoot her and her friends and her unborn child. She reported he sent her pictures of himself posing with three firearms. The woman advised police she had ended the relationship 5 months ago because he was violent toward her. The woman said she was in fear for her life and wanted to get a protection order. Police documented the threatening text messages and contacted the Midland Police Department. Midland police advised that they have had many past dealings with the ex-boyfriend, who has several past charges for violent crime.

– On Dec. 28, police were called to an abandoned home on Broadway after receiving a call from neighbors who said they witnessed someone enter the house. Upon arriving on scene, police entered the house and found two males inside. The two men, Carl Morris and Jerome Heiney, were ordered out of the house by police and patted down. Morris was found to be carrying a large screwdriver and two pocket knives. Heiney was found to be carrying multiple tools including screwdrivers, pliers and a carpenter knife. When asked by police what they were doing inside the residence, the men responded that they had gone inside to retrieve an old electrical item. Both originally stated that they had permission to be inside the home, but later changed their story saying they did not have permission. Both men were transported back to the police station and charged with criminal trespassing and possession of criminal tools.

-On Dec. 28, a Maple Avenue woman reported that her son, Marcus Moxley, was stealing her lawn mower from her house. When police arrived on the scene Moxley had already left. The woman reported that Moxley had permission to retrieve his belongings at the residence, but did not have permission to take the lawn mower.

– On Dec. 26, police received a call from a woman asking officers to perform a welfare check on her grandchild at a residence on Anderson Avenue. The woman told police she had received information that adults at the residence were drinking with children in the house. Police arrived at the residence and made contact with the resident at the address. The mother of the children in question was found asleep in a bedroom. The woman’s son was found awake sitting on the couch with a passed out adult male. Several empty beer cans were found on the kitchen table. The mother of the children and the resident were advised that a report of the incident would be forwarded to the juvenile officer.

– On Dec. 24, an officer responded to a report of a vandalized car at a residence on Erie Alley. The vehicle’s owner stated that his black 2006 Ford Mustang had been vandalized sometime over night. The car had an obscene statement scratched into the passenger side door. The man advised he did not have any idea who would have vandalized his car.

– On Dec. 21, a Clark Avenue man reported the driver’s side mirror of his Dodge Journey sport utility vehicle was damaged while parked in front of his residence. The man reported vehicle was damaged between 7 p.m. Dec. 20 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 21.

POLICE

County Sheriff

– A trucker from Wisconsin was making a delivery at Paper Service on Leslie Road in Elkrun Township at 11:19 a.m. Wednesday when a resident blocked him with his pickup truck, claiming the section of Leslie Road known as Horseshoe Bend was closed to semi-trucks. The trucker could find no such signs and believes there is no such restriction. A deputy arrived to speak to the other person, Mike White, who lives there and said he was concerned about children that play in the driveway, which is actually the roadway. He was told trucks could use the section of Leslie Road until the township trustees take action to the contrary.

– Charle Gaters, who works for a company responsible for securing foreclosed homes, reported Wednesday a home at 44584 state Route 154, Elkrun Township, was found stripped of its plumbing, as well as the furnace and water heater.

– Jason Frischkorn, Old Irondale Road, Wellsville, reported Tuesday a post with five mail boxes, including his, was struck by a vehicle overnight.

– Mary Lasky asked a deputy to check on her home on Mountz Road, Salem, after he daughter’s ex-boyfriend reportedly threatened to burn down their house at 2:11 a.m. Sunday. A deputy checked the residence and everything was fine.

– Steve Davis, Spring Valley Road, Salineville, reported the following items were stolen from his detached garage during the latter part of December: miscellaneous tools, two air compressors, an electric hack saw and miscellaneous scrap.

– Deputies responded to a report of someone crashing into a garage on Dan Smith Road in Yellow Creek Township at 3:15 a.m. Thursday. Police spoke with Nathaniel Compton, who said he drove his wife’s 2011 Nissan Frontier through the attached garage and into the back yard and then had a beer following the crash. Compton passed the field sobriety tests administered by the deputies, who then spoke to his wife. She was asleep at the time and did not hear anything until firefighters pounded on her door.

Lisbon

– A screaming 911 hang up call was received from the Chris Brown residence on East Lincoln Way at 3:44 a.m. Thursday. Brown called back to say he wanted a female to leave his apartment because she is a heroin user and completely messed up. By the time police arrived, the female was packing and preparing to leave.

-A screaming female called from a home on North Market Street at 12:23 a.m. Thursday. Police arrived and spoke with someone named Rex, who said his wife had been drinking with her medication. An ambulance was called to transport his wife to the hospital.

– Police responded to call at Applegrove apartments at 5:27 a.m. Friday in regard to a female resident with a knife, which was put away by the time an officer arrived. Police spoke with the woman, who said she was having bad thoughts, so an ambulance was summoned to transport her to a local hospital.

– While on patrol an officer came across a running vehicle sitting stationary in the middle of Sherman Street at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Behind the wheel with his foot on the brake was a person identified as Theren Michael Pearson. Police were unable to wake Pearson and the officer had to use the lock-out tool to unlock the door. Pearson was conscious but unresponsive, so an ambulance was called to transport him to a local hospital.

– Michael T. Malone, North Jefferson Street, was cited for failure to yield the right of way after pulling into the path of a vehicle operated by Jesse A. Reed, 35, West Washington Street, resulting in an accident. This occurred at the intersection of East Pine and North Jefferson streets at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday.

East Palestine

– Nicholas R. Bell, 28, Herbster Street, Columbiana, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop on West North Avenue at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday.

– Police separated William L. Cooper, Grandview Avenue, and Samuel R. Landsberger, Padgett Road, after they about to be involved in an altercation on East Taggart Street at 2 a.m. Thursday.

Columbiana

– Robert Macklin requested at 12:41 a.m. Thursday police escort him to his home on North Elm Street to keep the peace with his soon to be-ex wife Kayla Macklin.

– Gary Groom, 64, Sewickly, Pa., was eastbound on East Park Avenue at 6:37 p.m. Thursday and failed to negotiate a curve and went off the road into a ditch before going back onto the road. No citations were issued and a passenger, Alice Markovski, Sewickly, Pa., was taken to the Salem hospital with possible injuries.

East Liverpool

– Called for an unknown problem on Oakwood Avenue, officers found Dennis Byers sitting on the porch, and they could hear someone inside the house, screaming and carrying on. Inside, officers reported finding Byers’ brother, Brandon M. Byers, 22, same address, highly intoxicated and screaming obscenities at his father. Officers told Byers that his brother, with whom he was angry, was leaving, and told him to calm down. However, Byers reportedly started screaming at an officer and pointing at his face, then smacked at the officer’s hand. Brandon Byers was charged with disorderly conduct/intoxication and resisting arrest.

– While southbound on St. Clair Avenue, Shawn Lonkert, 35, St. Clair Avenue, was turning left into a driveway when he was blinded by the sun and turned into the path of Richard L. Higgins, 53, state Route 517, Columbiana, who was northbound. Lonkert was cited for failure to control.

St. Clair Township

– While on patrol at 2 a.m. Friday, an officer reported seeing a man riding a bicycle on Dresden Avenue without lights. He was stopped and checked for weapons, and the officer found the man had an AK-47 air soft gun in a backpack, which also held a second backpack. It was determined he had stolen the items from Walmart. Thomas A. Barton, 31, no address listed, was charged with petty theft and possession of criminal tools.

– Officers were called to the home of Virginia Menear, 59, Y&O Road, to remove someone and said they found Menear and another woman in a verbal argument over items supposedly owned by the other woman. She could not provide proof of ownership, and officers advised her to leave and not return or face charges.

– Jefferson J. Ogg, no age or address listed, reported purchasing from an unknown person a vehicle which had been parked on the Giant Eagle parking lot. He went to purchase an air filter from a nearby parts store and returned to find the battery which had been in the vehicle had been taken.

– Officers responded to Carriage Hill Apartments for a domestic, which turned out to be a verbal dispute.

Lisbon

– The smoke detector went off at the Tom McKenna residence on state Route 164 at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday. The alarm had been activated by an overcooked meal in the microwave.

– A malfunctioning smoke detector was to blame for a false alarm at the home of Don Clark, West Chestnut Street, at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

– The fire department received a request to help someone from Rose Drive apartments into ambulance at 9:54 p.m. Wednesday.

Highway Patrol

– Rebekah A. Viets, 20, Wayne Bridge Road, Lisbon, was cited for failure to control after the Escape she was driving went off the road and into a ditch on Lisbon Road in Salem Township at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday.

– Gary E. Graham, 56, state Route 7, Columbiana, was cited for OVI and failure to control after he turned from Route 7 onto state Route 46 in Fairfield Township, striking a stopped vehicle operated by Eric C. Travis, 33, Crestview Road, Leetonia. This occurred at 12:27 a.m. Sunday.

– Zachary W. Tomlinson, 16, Butler Grange Road, Salem, was driving on Butler Grange Road at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday when his Toyota pickup truck caught fire. Tomlinson pulled to the side of the road, and the Winona Fire Department was contacted.

– An officer on patrol found some downed lines at the south electric substation at 4:47 a.m. Wednesday. The electrical superintendent was advised.

– A mother asked police to check on a domestic dispute between her son and his girlfriend at her home on East Friend Street at 5 a.m. Wednesday. Police determined Jamie Phillips and Tracey Bowser had been arguing and they agreed to stay away from each other for the rest of the night. Phillips called back at 5:43 a.m. to ask that an officer stand by while he removed a baby and some personal items from the residence.

– A resident of Manor Drive reported someone was selling Iowa steaks without a permit at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. Police checked the area but did not come across the person.

– A security alarm was going off at United Rentals at 4:12 p.m. Wednesday, and police arrived to secure an open door.

– Kelsie Reed, 19, of Toronto, was arrested at the Sparkle Market at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for receiving stolen property out of the county sheriff’s office.

East Palestine

-An unnamed resident on Taggart Street reported Wednesday someone might have been inside after the door was found open, which is the third time this has happened.

Salem Township

– Richard A. Hoffman, 52, Butcher Hill Road, Leetonia, reported receiving a letter from the Illinois Turnpike Commission stating he owed $89 for failing to pay four tolls from Nov. 21. Hoffman said he does not have any commercial vehicles in his name, and someone must have stolen his identity.

Salem

– Chris Mitchell, of East Perry Street, reported at 7:48 a.m. Thursday that a window on the side of his vehicle was damaged while the vehicle was parked in front of his residence.

– An alarm was reported at 7:30 a.m. Thursday on Jennings Avenue, with the exterior found secure.

– The Ohio State Highway Patrol called police at 7:24 a.m. Thursday to check on a red Buick westbound on East State Street near Walmart with its 4-way flashers on and traveling slow. The vehicle was not located.

– Police responded to East Pershing Street and South Union Avenue where a couch was reported in the street at 4:36 a.m. Thursday. It was moved off the street.

– Elliott Crank, 19, of 942 E. Fifth St., and Gregory Weingart, 19, of 1440 Orchard Court, were each charged with underage consumption after an officer parked in the area of Hawley Avenue at 3:53 a.m. Thursday saw them walking then saw them begin running when they saw the police car. One male was seen attempting to climb a wall west of Smith Oil on East State Street. Both were taken into custody, charged and taken to the Columbiana County jail.

– An open door was reported at 3:20 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of East State Street. The interior was checked and a keyholder responded to secure the business.

– Police were called at 3:15 a.m. Thursday for a disorderly person in the emergency department at Salem Regional Medical Center. The person was identified as the same person from an earlier call at 1:58 a.m. in the Burger King parking lot for a fight. The person was intoxicated and said he and his girlfriend had an argument, but no physical altercation. He was taken to the hospital by KLG. A male nurse reported the person was cursing out loud. He was told to stop his disorderly action.

-Suspicious activity was reported at 1:55 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of East Third Street. An anonymous caller said there was a lot of traffic and there was a concern it may be drug-related. Officers attempted to find the residence in question, but it didn’t exist and nothing suspicious was found in the area.

– A fight between two males was reported at 1:01 a.m. Thursday in the 700 block of East Fifth Street. One male said he got into an argument with another male on North Lincoln Avenue, but nothing physical took place. He no longer wanted him there. The other party was found and told he’s no longer welcome. He was taken home.

– Police were called at 11:54 p.m. Wednesday to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street for an alleged fight. The homeowner said there was no fight, just an argument. The other party said the same and left for the night.

– Police were called at 11:37 p.m. Wednesday to Salem Regional Medical Center for a report of an assault victim. It turned out to be the victim from an earlier call who wanted no investigation but said the alleged incident occurred on Walnut Street. The earlier report at 10:39 p.m. was for a male who fell in the road at South Lundy Avenue and Franklin. Two males were found who had not fallen, then another call came for a male who fell near Pershing and Broadway and had a cut on his head. Fire department first responders and EMT Ambulance reported to the scene and the victim was taken to the hospital.

– A dispute was reported at 9:32 p.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of Newgarden Avenue. A woman said she got into an argument with her parents. Nothing physical occurred. She left for the night.

– Police were called at 9:23 p.m. Wednesday to Quaker Village, 201 S. Lincoln Ave., for an irate male who was yelling and had thrown several items. The man was calmed down and fire department first responders and KLG came to the scene. He was taken to Salem Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Charges are pending. Police were originally called to Walnut Street where residents said a male who resides across the street was seen in their driveway tampering with one resident’s work vehicle. When confronted, he reportedly said he was getting a gallon of milk from the truck’s tank. The report said the truck was not a milk truck but a chemical supply truck. There was no damage to the truck. The man had left and ended up at the store on Lincoln Avenue where he frightened the clerk and reached for her when he asked for a pen. He knocked down some merchandise and began yelling at several other customers.

– A caller at 7:52 p.m. Wednesday reported a male was allegedly threatening to come to the residence on North Ellsworth Avenue to cause physical harm to someone. An officer spoke with the other person who said no threats were made. Both were told to stop all forms of communication with each other for the night.

– An intoxicated driver was reported at 6:13 p.m. Wednesday in the area of South Ellsworth Avenue and Pershing Street. The vehicle was found and was obeying all traffic laws.

– A transient was given a ride to Barnett’s Motel on U.S. Route 62 at 5:31 p.m. Wednesday through the transient program.

– An officer at 4:42 p.m. Wednesday was contacted by Hubbard Police regarding a complaint at their department for an alleged sexual assault that possibly occurred in Salem or Perry Township. The officer gathered information on the persons involved and the other officer planned to fax their report to Salem for further investigation.

-A possible intoxicated driver was reported at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Southeast Boulevard and Ridgewood. No violations were observed.

– A woman responded to the police department at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday with her juvenile daughter regarding suspicious and harassing text messages her daughter began receiving from an unidentified person in the past several days. An officer found the number originated from Connecticut. He suggested she change her phone number.

– A woman from Southeast Boulevard reported at 3:21 p.m. Wednesday that she was getting text messages from her ex-boyfriend that she considered threatening in nature towards her. She wanted documentation.

– Police received a report at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday of a man acting suspicious and taking off his shirt and yelling in an alley between Euclid and Perry Street. He was not found.

– George Finkley Jr. 29, of East Fifth Street, was cited for assured clear distance after his eastbound vehicle failed to stop and struck the rear of another eastbound vehicle driven by William Dawes, 38, of Ridge Road, who was approaching a red light on East State Street at Ohio Avenue at 1:21 p.m. Wednesday.

– A parking ticket was issued on a vehicle parked on the curb on Maple at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday.

– Police were called at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday for a possible fight with a gun in the 600 block of Bricker Lane. Contact was made with a female at the residence in question who said there was no problem. Contact was also made at the home where the call originated and a resident said nobody called. An investigation was pending.

– Cynthia Denninger, 53, Green Lane, East Liverpool, was westbound on Salem Grange Road in Salem Township at 5:42 p.m. Monday and attempting to make a right hand turn onto state Route 45 and was struck by Samuel M. McCullough, 54, Maple Street, Lisbon, who was northbound on state Route 45. Denninger was cited for right of way.

– Theresa A. Stryffeler, 51, Bayard Road, Homeworth, was westbound on state Route 14 in Green Township in Mahoning County at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday and hit a deer.

– Marilyn K. Williamson, 69, state Route 45, Leetonia, was southbound on state Route 45 in Salem Township at 1:48 p.m. Tuesday and hit a deer.

– J.W. Linam, 20, South Union Avenue, Salem, was northbound on Bethesda Road in Franklin Township at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday and went off the left side into a tree. He was cited for failure to control.

Columbiana

– A man reported at 1 p.m. Tuesday a car was parked in front of a No Parking sign at Court and Prospect streets. Police found the owner of the vehicle and they agreed to have it moved.

– Nicole Scharrenberger, age and address not listed, was cited for license suspension following a traffic stop at Firestone Park and East Salem Street at 3:59 p.m. Tuesday.

Perry Township

– Michael David Putman, 29, of Canton, was cited for driving under OVI suspension after a traffic stop at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday on West State Street at Benton Road. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

– A resident in the 1200 block of Benton Road reported at 11:42 p.m. Tuesday that a suspicious red truck drove past their property several times. Police checked the area, but did not find the truck.

– Prima Health Care in Columbiana called at 3:19 p.m. Tuesday to request a welfare check on a patient who has been having issues and resides in the 1200 block of West State Street. Police spoke with the patient who advised they had an appointment with Prima and were doing better.

– A man in the 1500 block of North Lincoln Avenue called police at 12:41 a.m. Tuesday in reference to his three kids who had not returned home. After an officer spoke with him multiple times, it was determined the kids may be at a friend’s house in Salem Acres. Police responded to Salem Acres on Prospect Street, located the kids and took them home. The father was told to contact Juvenile Court if he wants to pursue unruly charges.

– Police learned at 7:06 p.m. Monday that a male identified as James Cunningham Jr. of Salineville, gave false information during a traffic stop on Dec. 20. He was already incarcerated at the county jail on unrelated charges and was served by Perry Township police with charges of driving under suspension, duty to display license, a vehicle equipment violation and furnishing false information to an officer issuing a citation.

Salem

– Police responded to West Fourth Street at 2:37 a.m. Wednesday for an attempted suicide call. The man at the residence said he made comments about needing to take medication for an existing illness and someone may have misunderstood. Medical personnel arrived and found him fine medically.

– Police responded at 1 a.m. Wednesday to the 300 block of Vine Avenue to speak with a woman about a telephone harassment complaint.

– Police were called at 10:33 p.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 1100 block of Cleveland Street where a woman reported her son was refusing to come home. An officer spoke to him and he agreed to go home.

– An officer on patrol at 10:23 p.m. Tuesday saw an unattended fire at the rear of a residence in the 600 block of North Lincoln Avenue. He attempted to contact the residents, but no one answered. The fire department was summoned and put the fire out. Police had been called to the same residence earlier for a complaint of a large fire, but found it to be legal size.

– Police responded at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday to the 900 block of East Third Street to check the well being of a male resident who said he was having thoughts of harming himself. Fire department first responders and EMT arrived and he was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

– Police went to a residence in the 200 block of Vine Avenue at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday regarding a juvenile residing there who possibly had information on a missing juvenile. The resident said his daughter no longer lived there and he had no information on the missing juvenile.

– An unattended fire was reported at the rear of a property in the 100 block of West Pershing Street at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday. Contact was attempted with the residents, but there was no answer. The fire department was summoned and put out the fire.

– A woman in the 200 block of South Howard Avenue reported at 1:47 p.m. Tuesday that someone removed money from her bank account without permission.

– Police confiscated two license plates on behalf of the BMV from a car in a parking lot on Vine Avenue at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. The resident, who is suspended, was notified.

– A vehicle owned by Rebecca Smith, of West 10th Street, was reported damaged at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday while in the parking lot of the Salem Memorial Building, 785 E. State St., while her daughter was there. Someone apparently backed into the vehicle, causing the license plate to be ripped off and damaging the front bumper. The license plate was recovered by police in the parking lot at 9:01 a.m. Tuesday.

– Emily Garman, 20, 348 E. Seventh St., was taken into custody at 8:27 a.m. Tuesday on a warrant for dangerous drugs. She was taken to the county jail.
