Sheriff’s Office
— A deputy was dispatched at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday to a Lisa Lane address in Center Township for a domestic violence report. All parties involved said it was just an argument and a refusal was signed.
— A man at the Travelers Inn, state Route 45, Center Township, reported at 7:34 p.m. Tuesday that he has been living at the Inn for the past five months and now he’s locked out of his room and was requesting a deputy to respond. Upon arrival, management arrived and an agreement was made.
— A man on Speidel Road, Hanover Township reported at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday that his neighbor on Randel Road was putting in an irrigation system on his property and he feels this will mess up his leach lines. He was told to contact an attorney.
— A man on Rochester Road, West Township called at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday to request a welfare check on a family member on Georgetown Damascus Road, Knox Township due to being unable to make contact with her. A deputy spoke with a family member, who said the woman was unable to speak with a deputy due to health issues.
— At 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, a deputy spoke with a woman from U.S. Route 30, Lisbon about possible fraud. She said she was notified by her tax preparer that she needed to file for a form for the Healthcare Marketplace, but she said she didn’t have an account with them. Once she called, she was advised that a man from a Florida area code filed under her taxes for the account. No money was taken from her accounts. The attorney general’s consumer fraud number was provided to her.
— A woman on Sell Road, Lisbon, reported at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday that her ex-boyfriend had her vehicle and was refusing to return it.
–A deputy responded to an alarm on state Route 170, Middleton Township, at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday, making contact with the homeowner who was cutting his grass and said the activation was accidental.
— A deputy was dispatched at 4:18 p.m. Wednesday to Stanley Court, Knox Township for a 911 hangup call. The homeowner said his cell phone was in his pocket and it was accidental.
— A trustee for the Damascus Park, Georgetown Damascus Road, Butler Township, reported at 3:20 p.m. Wednesday that a woman was living in a vehicle in the parking lot. A deputy checked the parking lots and property, with no contact with anyone.
— A 911 hangup call was reported at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday on state Route 45, Center Township. Upon arrival, a deputy spoke with the residents, who said everything was okay. Another 911 hangup call occurred at 7:27 a.m. Wednesday on state Route 45, Lisbon and all was okay.
— A man called at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday to report the illegal dumping of eight to 10 bags of trash on Jimtown Road, East Palestine. The name found inside the trash was the same as a prior incident.
— A man from Applegate Road, Lisbon reported at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday that he was sent a check in the mail which he cashed and it bounced.
— A woman at 9:49 a.m. Wednesday reported that her father passed away and she believe several of his guns are missing from his Lisbon residence.
— A 911 call hangup call was reported at 9:38 a.m. Wednesday on Salem Grange Road, Salem. A woman said it was accidental and she was fine.
— A woman on Steubenville Pike Road, Lisbon reported at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday that neighbors used her debit card and EBT card while watching her residence last month. The bank is aware and she was calling the Department of Job and Family Services about the EBT card.
— A woman on Salem Grange Road, Salem Township, reported at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday that someone was on her property and tapping on her kitchen window, then she heard a vehicle take off from in front of her residence. A deputy checked the property, but didn’t find anything.
— A deputy was dispatched to Yeager Drive, Madison Township at 9:13 p.m. Tuesday regarding a container containing unknown rotting meat. The meat appeared to be slabs of beef upon examination.
— A suspicious man who appeared to be intoxicated was reported walking along Old Monroeville Road, Washington Township at 7:36 p.m. Tuesday, but wasn’t found.
— A trespass complaint was reported at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday by a state Route 45, Lisbon property owner who said a woman was coming to the property and entering without permission. They did not want charges, but wanted the issue on record for future incidents.
— A man on Windsor Drive, Knox Township reported at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday that his mailbox was vandalized. This is the second time it has happened and he believes it’s being caused by an ex-employee.
— A man from Eagleton Road, Lisbon reported at 1:26 p.m. Tuesday that his wife assaulted him again.
— A domestic dispute was reported at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday on Y Camp Road, Madison Township.
— K-9 Diva and her handler Deputy Luke Skidmore were deployed at 10:41 a.m. Tuesday to assist East Liverpool Police for a vehicle check. She alerted and indicated to the odor of narcotics on both the driver side and passenger side. The report said suspected crack was recovered from the suspect’s pocket and a pipe was located inside the vehicle.
— A domestic dispute was reported at 9:54 a.m. Tuesday on state Route 45, Lisbon at McDonald’s where a man said he was assaulted by his girlfriend and she locked herself in the vehicle.
— A woman on Sandy Creek Road, Minerva reported at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday that her neighbor’s cows are constantly getting out, coming onto her property and causing damage. Contact was made with the neighbor who said he would work on fixing the issue.
— A possible prowler was reported at 3:42 a.m. Tuesday on Seigler Road, Lisbon. Deputies checked the exterior of the premises and made contact with the resident, also checking the inside and finding it secure.
–A deputy was dispatched at 7:57 p.m. Sunday to Neeld Road, Unity Township for a man who was suicidal and wanted to go to a hospital for voluntary admission. He was transported to St. Elizabeth in Youngstown.
— Trespassing was reported at 5:47 p.m. Sunday on Hibbetts Mill Road, Yellow Creek Township, but the subjects left while a deputy was en route.
— An alarm was reported at 1:06 p.m. April 12 at Carmel Achor Road, Union Ridge Baptist Church, Rogers. Doors were checked and everything was okay.
— A caller at 11:28 a.m. April 12 reported multiple vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and not stopping at the stop sign on Walnut Ridge Road, Salineville.
— A caller at 9:31 a.m. April 12 reported hearing multiple shots close to the residence on Hartley Road, Salem.
— A stolen vehicle, a 4-runner, was reported at 12:49 p.m. April 11 on state Route 517, Lisbon.
— A man from Salem Grange Road, Salem called at 9:26 a.m. April 11 to ask about a case of fraud by a woman who used his social security number to open an account that’s now in collections. The incident occurred in 2023.
— An assault was reported at 2:09 a.m. April 11 on Sherwood Road, Yellow Creek Township of a woman by a man. The woman refused medical transport by EMS. A report was on file for the prosecutor’s office.
— K-9 Diva and her handler, Deputy Luke Skidmore, were requested at 1:59 a.m. April 11 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol to assist on a traffic stop on East Chestnut Street, Lisbon.
— A welfare check was requested at 3:13 p.m. April 10 on Ridgeview Drive, Hanoverton for a woman who did not pick up a child from school and wasn’t answering the phone. Contact was made with the woman and she was ok and already contacted the caller.
— A caller at 2:26 p.m. April 10 reported two new shower doors that were sitting outside a Bayard Road, Minerva property were damaged, with a broken broom stick lying next to the damaged doors.
–An employee of Crestview Elementary School reported at 3 p.m. April 10 that her vehicle damaged by a stone thrown from a mower while parked at the school.
Salem
— Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Lincoln Avenue at 10:28 p.m. Wednesday for a report of someone looking in their windows. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate anyone.
— Officers responded to the 400 block of Rose Avenue at 6:51 p.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person. The caller advised a woman had come to their house asking to make a phone call and had returned a second time acting strangely. The caller and a neighbor requested the woman be trespassed from their property and signed criminal trespass forms. The woman could not be located to advised her of the trespass notice at that time.
— Officers responded to the 2800 block of East State Street at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday for a reported animal complaint. The caller advised that there were dogs inside a vehicle in cages. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in question.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of North Broadway Avenue at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday for a reported medical call. A resident was voluntarily transported by EMT for further evaluation.
— Officers on patrol near the 400 block of South Lundy Avenue at 2:32 p.m. Wednesday observed a man intentionally litter, and when they instructed them to pick up the items they littered, they became verbally aggressive. The man, Terrence Krepps, Salem, eventually picked up the garbage but refused to comply with lawful commands to identify himself and was taken into custody, but resisted and pulled away from officers until additional officers arrived. Once secured Krepps was transported to the Columbiana County Jail charged with obstruction of official business and resisting arrest.
— Officers took a woman’s fingerprints for her at the police department at 2:07 p.m. Wednesday.
— Officers responded to the 2500 block of East State Street at 1:43 p.m. Wednesday for a reported boulder in the roadway. The caller advised that a vehicle dragged the boulder into the roadway and drove off when detached. The street department responded and removed the boulder from the roadway with a front-end loader.
— Officers responded to the area of East State Street and Rose Avenue at 12:58 p.m. Wednesday for a reported motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash. Officers learned that there had not been a motor vehicle accident and that the person in question had hit the curb while riding a bicycle and fallen over. A family member responded to the scene and loaded the bicycle into their vehicle and took the rider home. No injuries were reported.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday regarding issues they are having with their neighbor. Officers spoke with both parties about the issue.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department regarding landlord and tenant rights at 11:33 a.m. Wednesday. Officers explained the steps of eviction and advised that if the other party involved wanted to come speak with officers, they could do so.
— Officers responded to the 800 block of East Third Street at 9:39 a.m. Wednesday for a reported person to be removed. The caller advised that a man was reusing to leave the area and wanted the man to be trespassed from the property. The man signed the criminal trespass notice and was sent on his way.
— Officers responded to the 500 block of North Union Avenue at 7:11 a.m. Wednesday for a report of suspicious activity. The caller advised that they thought someone was inside their residence. Officers checked the interior of the residence and found it to be clear.
— Officers responded to the area of Hawley Avenue and East Fourth Street at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday for a reported suspicious person walking between houses. Officers checked the area and located the person in question emerging along the side of their residence. They quickly went inside while looking at officers and officers spoke with them and their father. Both were advised of the complaint and to stay out of other people’s yards.
— Officers responded to the area of Cunningham Road and Bentley Drive at 10 p.m. Tuesday for a report of two people moving traffic cones. Officers spoke with the people in question who advised that they were in the middle of the road. Officers advised them if any more were located to just move them out of the roadway.
— Officers responded to the 200 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday for a reported noise complaint. The caller advised that individuals at the residence had been hitting the walls and being loud. Officers spoke with the person in question, and they agreed to keep it down.
— Officers spoke with a person at the police department at 6:17 p.m. Tuesday who located a file containing several personal records of a former Salem High School student in their new house. The property was collected, and the matter will be passed on to a records clerk at the school to see if it can be returned to the proper owner.
— Officers responded to the 300 block of East State Street at 3:58 p.m. Tuesday for a reported hit and skip. The caller advised that a vehicle had struck the driver’s side mirror of his parked vehicle, damaging the mirror and scratching the door. Officers took photos of the damage and checked the area for possible surveillance cameras which may have recorded the incident, but none were located.
