Sheriff’s Office — Telecommunication harassment was reported at 10:07 p.m. Sunday by a Salem Township resident on Salem Unity Road. — An alarm was reported at 11:05 p.m. Saturday at Dollar General, state Route 172, Hanover Township. Two local public libraries receive grant funding

Two local public libraries have been awarded state funding. The Salem Public Library will receive $10,143 and the Columbiana Public Library $13,500 in Guiding Ohio Online grants through the State Library of Ohio. During its May meeting, the State Library of Ohio Board approved more than $368,000 in federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funding for eighteen public libraries across the state. Perry Township trustees approve retroactive transfer of funds

PERRY TOWNSHIP—The board of trustees gave retroactive approval for a transfer between the township’s accounts in its meeting Monday. The trustees voted unanimously to retroactively approve the transfer of $15,031.41 from the General Fund to the Police Levy Fund on Dec. 24. Fiscal officer John Volio explained the transfer had previously been approved by trustees, but that an official motion hadn’t been made at the time to do so, necessitating the retroactive approval. New judge assigned to wrongful death suit against county, sheriff's officials

LISBON — A new visiting judge has been assigned to oversee the wrongful death lawsuit filed against Columbiana County, the sheriff and one deputy over a fatal crash in 2023 involving the pursuit of a driver in a stolen vehicle which hit another vehicle. Retired Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Andrew D.
