Pedestrian hit, killed in Perry Township identified: OSHP

PERRY TWP. (WKBN) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian hit in an accident in Perry Township Friday night. According to OSHP Lisbon, an Oldsmobile traveled off the right side of the roadway and hit a pedestrian, identified by OSHP as Amanda J. Speigle, 35, of Salem, at 6:17 p.m. on State Route 45 in front of the Salem Golf Club. Speigle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and she later passed away at the hospital, according to OSHP. The driver of the car was unharmed. West Branch school board to seek PI levy in November

BELOIT — The West Branch school board is asking residents for money to complete capital improvement projects. The board is seeking a 1-mill, five-year permanent improvement levy on the November ballot. If approved, the levy will generate $440,000 annually. The cost to homeowners would be $35 per year per $100,000 of home value, or approximately $2.92 per month. Permanent improvement funds may only be used for projects such as building repairs and renovations, safety and security upgrades, infrastructure improvements, equipment purchases, and other capital expenses.
