Starting Sept. 21, U.S. Route 30 will close at the state Route 11/U.S. Route 30 interchange in West Point for 45 days. The closure includes the section of U.S. Route 30 from state Route 45 to the state Route 11 northbound on- and off-ramps. Additionally, the ramp from state Route 11 to U.S. Route 30 and the eastbound U.S. Route 30 ramp will close as part of this phase of the project. The detour is from state Route 11 to state Route 154 west, back to U.S. Route 30. This work is the first of five phases of the project. Arrest made in threat against Knox school

BELOIT — An arrest has been made in the threat against Knox school last month. In a letter to parents Friday night, West Branch Schools Superintendent Matthew Manley said an arrest for terroristic threats, a third-degree felony, had been made that day by local law enforcement. The name of the individual could not be confirmed before press time Friday night. Columbiana to try new Christmas Parade route

COLUMBIANA — The city is trying out a new route for the Christmas Parade this year. The parade, scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 20, will now begin on Railroad Street across from the planned new City Hall location. Zach King, director of the Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce, shared the plans with City Council in August.
