Cow struck by vehicle in Columbiana County crash: OSHP

BUTLER TWP. (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol was called to a crash where a cow was struck in the roadway Friday morning in Columbiana County. Troopers were called to state Route 9 near Mountz Road in Butler Township around 4:15 a.m. According to OSHP, two vehicles were involved in the crash. Troopers said one of the vehicles hit a cow in the roadway. Troopers did not disclose how the second vehicle was involved in the crash. Tow trucks removed both vehicles from the scene. OSHP said that the cow is now deceased. The roadway is now open.

Columbiana resident request two-animal maximum enforcement

COLUMBIANA — A Fairfield Avenue man asked the city to consider enforcing a two-animal maximum after getting fed up with the noise and unsanitary conditions of a neighboring home, which was later found to be housing more than 20 dogs. Mike Mutz approached city council on Sept. 1 to voice his complaints about the property in the 700 block of Fairfield Ave. “We need to put a cap on how many dogs the residents are allowed to have.
