Toronto woman pleads guilty to having knife at Utica Shale Academy

LISBON — A woman accused of having a knife on the grounds of the Utica Shale Academy school in Salineville earlier this year admitted her guilt Thursday. Britania B. Brown, 45, Toronto, pleaded guilty to illegal conveyance or possession of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance in a school safety zone, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly having the knife out in the school parking lot on Jan. 14. Bid expected in October for East Palestine government complex

EAST PALESTINE — A bid is expected to be awarded on the village’s new Government Services Complex in early October. During the Aug. 10 council meeting Village Manager Antonio Diaz-Guy announced that bid advertisements are scheduled for Aug. 31 and Sept. 7, with a pre-bid meeting scheduled for Sept. 8. The bid due date is Sept. 18, with a bid award date scheduled for Oct. 12.
