Electric bikes, scooters becoming safety concern in Wellsville

WELLSVILLE — Mayor Bob Boley told council members Tuesday he fears it’s a matter of time before a child gets hit while riding electric scooters on the main roads. “I see kids, two or three of them on a scooter with a kid who’s maybe 2 years old on the front; it’s going to happen, and I would hate to have that on my conscience,” Boley said. “I would like to see something done.” Police Lt. Hunston Road to close for bridge replacement Beginning Tuesday Hunston Road in Unity Township will be closed to all traffic between Main Street and state Route 558/Bacon Avenue for 150 days for a bridge replacement. Local access will be open either side of the bridge project. Follow the posted detour route at the bridge site. Weaver, 51, Winona Road, Salem, on state Route 558 was struck by the side mirror of a westbound truck which continued from the scene.
