No injuries in Third Street fire

SALEM — Multiple departments responded to a house fire on Third Street Friday. The Salem Fire Department was notified at 10:50 p.m. Friday that the porch of the residence at 1134 E. Third St. had caught fire. When firefighters arrived, all residents had already evacuated the home, but two cats were still inside the residence. A 1.75-inch hose line was advanced to the rear of the residence, and the rear porch was extinguished. St. Clair Township — Officers found a female with a cigarette in her mouth passed out in her vehicle on Aug. 21 on state Route 170. A passerby had woken the female up. The female told officers she works at Amazon and has been on mandatory overtime. Officers asked the female if there was anything illegal in her car and told them the only thing she uses is Kratom. COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana Arts Theater is producing its first ever musical independently. Also known as the CAT, the Columbiana Arts Theater located in the town square along Main Street has been gifted enough funding to produce the popular “1776” musical that is being locally directed by retired Columbiana County Municipal Court Judge Mark Frost. LISBON — The Columbiana County Educational Service Center (CCESC) is partnering in the 7th Annual Mahoning Valley Skilled Trades Expo. Dennis Dunham, director of teaching and learning for the CCESC, said during the August board meeting that the event scheduled for Sept. 22-24 at the Canfield Fairgrounds will provide hands-on career exploration opportunities for students in grades 7-12.
