-- Officers found a female with a cigarette in her mouth passed out in her vehicle on Aug. 21 on state Route 170. A passerby had woken the female up. The female told officers she works at Amazon and has been on mandatory overtime. Officers asked the female if there was anything illegal in her car and told them the only thing she uses is Kratom. The officers told her anything other than 100% natural Kratom was now illegal to which she replied she did not know that and had been using it for seven years. The officers seized two small containers of Kratom for destruction with that being the law now and told the female if she was found to be possessing it again, she would be charged.
-- Phillip Husoveck was issued a citation for reckless operation on private property on Aug. 22. Husoveck, who said he is retired police officer, ignored the requests of officers who were handling traffic control at Calcutta Square Plaza during a 3K color race and drove toward the families with children in the race and then drove through the racecourse. A group of five adults were standing in the roadway of the course also attempting to stop Husoveck and his car, but he drove through the group of adults forcing them to out of the way while screaming at him to stop. The driver then reached an officer who ordered him to stop. When he stopped, he told the officer no one talked to him even though the officer had observed multiple people trying to stop him. He told the officer he did not appreciate being yelled at and the officer told him it was not appreciated that he drove through a kids' race where multiple officers and adults had told him to stop. He continued to argue with the officers and had to be ordered back to his vehicle and told him he would be placed under arrest if he got out of it again. He continued to argue, and the officer told him he could appear in court to dispute the citation. He then followed officers back to the police station where he continued to argue with them and then requested a complaint form, and the officer told him to talk to a supervisor on Monday for a complaint.
-- Rikki Miller was issued a citation for littering after being observed throwing trash out of his car window while sitting at a green light on state Route 170 on Aug. 22.
-- Officers investigating a dispute over payment for gas at Sheetz on Aug. 24 spoke with a female who said she sent her friend inside to pay for gas with $25. The friend told the officer she paid for a slushie and asked the clerk to put the rest in for gas. Both of them then told the officers there was only $7, and some change placed on the pump. When they went inside and asked the cashier about it the cashier said they were only given $10. The manager and cashier said they counted the drawer to see if it had the correct amount in it. The manager told the female the store manager would be in a 6 a.m. the following morning and they could view the camera.
-- Officers investigated a disturbance reported between a male and female at the Quality Inn on St. Clair Avenue on Aug. 28. A male staying in the room with the female told officers he and friend were drinking with the female and she stole their wallets. The female was not located.
-- An officer observed a male walking on state Route 170 on Aug. 30 and made contact with him. He told the officer that he was walking to Sheetz and the officer informed him it was illegal to walk on state Route 170 and expressed the danger of walking on a busy road and gave the male a courtesy ride to the gas station.
Perry Township
-- A dispute was reported in the 1300 block of West State Street at 10:34 p.m. Monday. The caller advised that their husband and the landlord had a dispute over a payment issue and the landlord shut off the electricity and gave them an unofficial eviction notice. The caller was advised how the eviction process is properly administered and that the matter was civil. Officers also advised them to call back if the issue began to escalate again.
-- Officers assisted the Salem Police Department with a warrant check for adult parole services at 10:43 p.m. Sunday. Due to the person in question being a flight risk, officers stood by while Salem officers attempted contact.
-- An overdose was reported in the 400 block of Plymouth Place at 8:10 p.m. Sunday. Officers found the person in question was breathing but unresponsive, and he was transported by EMT for further care.
-- Telecommunications harassment was reported in the 1100 block of Prospect Street at 4:49 p.m. Sunday. The caller advised a former friend would not stop texting him. Officers spoke with the person in question and advised them to stop contacting the caller and that if they don't desist, they could be charged.
-- Officers checked on a person potentially experiencing a mental breakdown in the 1500 block of Painter Road at 10:37 a.m. Sunday. After speaking with the woman EMT was requested and transported her for further evaluation.
-- A domestic dispute was reported in the 1100 block of West Perry Street at 5:55 p.m. Saturday. A man and woman had caused damage to each other's vehicles during a dispute. Officers spoke with both parties and stood by until one of the involved parties departed the scene.
-- Gunshots were reported in the 1500 block of Newgarden Road at 12:15 a.m. Saturday. Officers checked the area but did not hear any gunshots.
-- Two men were reported in the roadway in the 1600 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 7:35 p.m. Friday. Officers advised them to stay out of the roadway.
