CCCTC enters oil and gas lease for over 52 acres

LISBON — The Columbiana County Career and Technical Center has entered into an oil and gas lease for 52.77 acres of district-owned land. During the May board of education meeting the board approved leasing the land to Hilcorp Utica, LLC of Houston, Texas, for $26,387. The five-year lease translates to roughly $500 per acre in revenue for the district. Additionally, the lease includes a 17 percent royalty to be paid to the district by Hilcorp for any oil and gas produced. Wellsville council votes to rebid lease for Wellsville Reservoir

WELLSVILLE — Village council this week voted unanimously to rebid the lease on the Wellsville Reservoir after receiving one bid that came in substantially lower than the amount for which it was leased last year. The bid received was $2,490 for a 12-month lease for surface use only of the reservoir. Council decided to reject the bid due to the getting $8,000 for a 12-month lease last year. St. Clair Township trustees approve transient vendor license for solar company

CALCUTTA — St. Clair Township trustees Monday night approved a transient vendor license for a solar company to go door-to-door. The 90-day permit approved for Trinity Solar, based in New Jersey, allows the company to do door-to-door sales of solar panels for residential property owners.
