Perry Township trustees approve multiple purchases

PERRY TOWNSHIP — Trustees approved several purchases in its meeting Monday. The board of trustees voted unanimously to approve the purchase of 40 feet of 36-inch pipe from Marlboro Supply for $1,526 for storm repairs on Egypt Road, and the purchase of four new tires for the road department’s Ford F-550 dump truck from Salem Tire for $1,543.84. Trustees also voted unanimously to approve the purchase of a Phillips on site automated electronic defibrillator for the fire department at a cost of $1,237.50. The Lisbon Ruritans seeking volunteers to make apple fritters

LISBON – The Lisbon Ruritan Club is seeking volunteers to continue making apple fritters for the Johnny Appleseed Festival. The club has been making and selling apple fritters at the festive since 1968. In the early 1980s the club had approximately 50 members and prepared and cooked about 175 gallons of fritter batter, using seven fryers. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, it settled in with about 22 members and 120 gallons of batter and four fryers.
