SALEM — The parks commission approved employee pay raises in its special meeting Aug. 5. Following an executive session for the discussion of personnel matters, the commissioners voted two to one to increase the base wage for the department’s laborer position by 4.5%, and to increase the mechanic position’s wage by 6%, retroactive to July 1. SALEM — The Columbiana County Humane Society has temporarily paused intake of animals following the seizure of more than 100 animals Monday.
