Toronto woman pleads guilty to having knife at Utica Shale Academy

LISBON — A woman accused of having a knife on the grounds of the Utica Shale Academy school in Salineville earlier this year admitted her guilt Thursday. Britania B. Brown, 45, Toronto, pleaded guilty to illegal conveyance or possession of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance in a school safety zone, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly having the knife out in the school parking lot on Jan. 14. Victim in Ohio Avenue fire identified

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Columbiana County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of the Ohio Avenue house fire which happened early Tuesday morning as James R Spencer, 62. Coroner Investigator Wade Boley said they had to forensically identify Spencer through fingertips due to the extent of burns on his body. A cause of death has not been determined and is still under investigation. An autopsy will be performed by the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office. Two arrested on drug charges following search of East Palestine home

EAST PALESTINE — Two people were arrested this week on drug charges following a police investigation. According to a statement released by the East Palestine Police Department on its Facebook page on Thursday the arrests were made on the 100 block of West Martin Street as the result of a search warrant executed at a home. “During the search of the residence officers recovered suspects narcotics, drug paraphernalia, electronic devices and several hypodermic syringes,” the statement said. CANFIELD (WKBN) — After 60 years of pancakes and chicken dinners, the Greenford Ruritan Club will not attend this year’s Canfield Fair.
