EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine teachers and classified staff will earn wage increases over the next two years now that the Board of Education has approved a new contract with the East Palestine Education Association (EPEA). The board approved the new two-year contract with the EPEA following negotiations. As a result certified staff, which are teachers, and classified staff, which are custodians, bus drivers, secretaries and aides, will earn a 2 percent increase in base wages the first year and 3 percent the second year. Wellsville received funding for marina renovations

WELLSVILLE — The village has received funding for renovations at the marina. Fiscal Officer Hoi Wah Yu reported to council Tuesday the village has been awarded $25,000 from the Charles M. Pugliese and Thelma M. Pugliese Charitable Foundation. She noted that the grant could also possibly be used toward matching funds for CDBG Plus dollars. Wah said she applied for the grant in March. Former Liverpool Township police chief in trouble again

LISBON — Former Liverpool Township police chief Jayson Jackson is facing another domestic violence charge, this time a felony, for punching a woman several times during a domestic which started Sunday night. Jackson, 53, Campground Road, Wellsville appeared via video for arraignment Monday morning in Columbiana County Municipal Court for a fourth-degree felony charge. East Liverpool school board approves new staff and personnel changes

EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool Board of Education Thursday welcomed new staff members who were present and approved multiple resignations, hirings and staff changes. Resignations were approved for Howard Williams, high school math teacher, wrestling coach and assistant football coach, and Erica Ward, eighth grade volleyball. Both resignations are for the 2026-2027 school year.
