Wellsville fire chief still committed to road closure

WELLSVILLE — The village fire chief remains steadfast in the closure of a section of Main Street following the collapse of a building. Fire Chief Barry Podwel Tuesday addressed discussion at the previous council meeting regarding council being able to overrule his decision to keep the 400 block of Main Street closed due to safety reasons following the collapse of the 5&10 building. SALEM — A proposed resolution which would have laid the groundwork to potentially form a new historic district within the city has been withdrawn for the time being. WIC beneficiaries will soon be able to have cards refilled at Salem health department

SALEM — Salem residents receiving benefits through the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) will soon be able to have their benefit cards refilled at the health department. During the health board meeting Wednesday, Health Commissioner Chelsea Clark announced that WIC had confirmed it would begin offering a refill date in Salem once per month beginning in November.
