COMMUNITY CORNER

Salem Community Foundation

SALEM — The Salem Community Foundation Board of Directors will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the public charitable trust when it convenes in early April for its combined annual and regular quarterly meeting. As the foundation marks six decades of service, it extends its sincere gratitude to the many donors, partners, and community members whose generosity and support have built a lasting legacy of impact in the Salem area.

The annual meeting, open to all members of the foundation, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Salem Community Center, 1098 N. Ellsworth Ave. The annual meeting will include the election of officers and the review of the foundation’s financial statements for the year 2025.

Anyone can become a lifetime member of the Salem Community Foundation with a minimum contribution of $100 or more and reside in the Salem area. All members are mailed an annual report and encouraged to attend the annual meeting each April.

The Salem Community Foundation awards grants to tax exempt organizations on a quarterly basis. Priority is given to projects reaching a wide section of the community, innovative programs that meet social needs, and encourage the promotion of the efficient use of resources. Scholarships, human services, arts and humanities, and the Salem Community Center are among the list of public and community services which benefit from the foundation’s assistance.

Grant applications and guidelines are available at www.salemcommunityfoundation.org or by phoning the Salem Community Foundation office at 330-332-4021. The next meeting of the Grant Screening Committee to review quarterly grant applications is scheduled for June 25. Brittany Maniscalco, Chief Operating Officer, asks that requests for financial assistance be submitted to the Foundation by June 1. The grant submission deadlines for the remainder of the calendar year are Sept. 1 and Dec. 1.

The Salem Community Foundation offers individuals, families, organizations, and businesses the unique opportunity to make a difference in our community by establishing an endowment fund for charitable or scholarship purposes.

Contributions may be made to Salem Community Foundation Inc., P. O. Box 553, Salem, Ohio 44460 and may be earmarked for a specific program of interest to the donor.
