CALCUTTA — The Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department is ready to “Shamrock The Plaza” during its second annual St. Patrick Day festival from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Dunham’s Plaza, 15765 state Route 170.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the department so they can host more events and raise funds for the items needed by the department.

There is a $5 cover charge, cash only. There will be an ATM on site.

The event will feature food, music, contests and ales.

The Kegs N Eggs Breakfast will run10 a.m. to noon and consist of eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and cabbage. There is an additional $15 charge for this.

There will be a beer trailer with domestic beers and Birdfish Irish Ale.

Music will be played all day with bands and DJs. The entertainment line-up consists of Darren Miller Acoustic from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Steel Valley Pipes and Drums at 11:30 a.m., followed by DJ Ran spinning tunes from noon to 3:30 p.m., Full Circle Band from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 7% Superstar from 6 to 8 p.m.

Contests include Best Kilt at 3 p.m., farthest traveled fire or police department, largest fire or police department group and best dressed group with St. Patrick’s Day Costumes, all at 6 p.m.

There will be a bar crawl/free party bus starting at 2 p.m., which will run to and from The CVFD, Shamrock The Plaza to JP’s Pizzeria and Grille, Casa De Emanuel, A1 Bar & DriveThru & Saddle Ridge. Participants will get a card to get stamped at each location, and every returned completed card at CVFD Shamrock the Plaza will get a prize and be entered to win a $200 Visa gift card. This is included with the cover charge.

There will be an after party with DJs held at Saddle Ridge beginning at 9 p.m.

All attendees to the event must be 21 years of age or older.
