Woman arrested following threatening altercation at USA
SALINEVILLE — Village police quickly made an arrest in an incident that occurred outside Utica Shale Academy Wednesday morning.
According to Chief John Marra, Britania Brown was taken into custody outside of the BK Gas Station, after she allegedly approached a school employee at 9:30 a.m. outside the facility in a threatening fashion.
Marra said the lockdown of the USA facility and nearby Head Start was initiated shortly after the incident.
No students, staff or public were harmed.
He added that there is no evidence of an active or ongoing threat, but additional security measures were implemented to ensure the safety of students and staff out of an abundance of caution.
“The Salineville police take all threats seriously and encourage anyone with information related to this incident to contact 330-679-3080. We also remind the public that making threats, whether direct or indirect, is a serious criminal offense,” Marra stated in his press release.
No additional information regarding the nature of the charges facing Brown or this investigation was available as of Wednesday afternoon.
