Remembrance service
The Dawson Funeral Home will host its annual Tree of Remembrance Service at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Dawson Funeral Home Chapel.
The service provides families with a moment of reflection, comfort and connection. The names of loved ones submitted online will be read aloud during the ceremony. Those in attendance will also receive a special remembrance keepsake to take home in memory of their loved one.
“We are honored to continue this meaningful tradition for our community,” siad Funeral Director Dike Dawson. “The Tree of Remembrance Service provides comfort and connection during a time of year that can be particularly challenging for those who are experiencing feelings of loss.”
Special features of this year’s service include a compassionate message of hope delivered by members of the Dawson staff; holiday music performed by the Beaver Local High School Show Choir, directed by Allison Hamilton; and a quiet, reflective space to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have gone before.

Seniors Holiday Lunch
Celebrating Seniors Holiday Lunch will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana. Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center is proud to partner with Best of the Batch Foundation this holiday season. All patrons attending The Best Christmas Pageant Ever or The Nutcracker are invited to bring a new unwrapped toy to contribute to the annual Batch A Toys holiday drive. Founded in 1999 by former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Charlie Batch, Best of the Batch Foundation provides more than a dozen programs serving school-aged children, and their families across nine counties in southwestern Pennsylvania.

WLC Club
The WLC Club met on Nov. 19 at the Living Well Church with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meetng with roll call and then Mary Schmidt leading the group in prayer.
The best loser was Barb Tranter and she also wore the officer’s ribbon.
The nono for the week was all snacks including chocolate. Betty Pease won the challenge and Tranter won the 50/50 drawing.
Donna Lee read the treasurer’s report and it was approved as read.
Tranter read a funny and then Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.
Tops 1341
Tops 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian church on Monday, Nov. 24, with Mary Gailey, leader, presiding. The best loser was Dorothy Garn and the runners up were: Pat Allison, Cindy Hays and Lydia Kraft. They chose no fried foods and potato chips as the junk foods for the coming week.
The drawing winners were: 50/50, Darlene Naukem; food chart, Garn; junk food, Darla Varney; weight loss and jackpot, Allison. Allison also won the travel box after losing four weeks in a row. Cathy Wollam now holds the travel box. There are four members left on the check.
Naukem presented a program “Family Fun Bingo” taken from the Tops magazine.
The meeting opened with pledges and closed with prayer concerns and The Lord’s Prayer.
