MOAA holds May meeting

CANFIELD — Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) – Mahoning and Shenango Valleys Chapter met Thursday, May 15 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield for dinner and a presentation on Air Force Reserve Medical Readiness from Col. Giuseppe (“Joey”) DeAbate, USAFR.
DeAbate is the immediate past commander of the 910th Medical Support Squadron at Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS), Vienna, and a local Nurse Practitioner with Mercy Health. He related his unit’s participation in Exercise PATRIOT MEDIC 2024 in Peru to illustrate the Air Force Reserve’s ability to deploy medical services and casualty evacuation assets from austere environments.
The chapter’s next dinner meeting is Thursday, June 19 at The Golden Corral in Hermitage, Pa. Check-in starts at 5:30 p.m. and RSVPs are due not later than Monday, June 16. Current, former, and retired commissioned and warrant officers and their surviving spouses residing in northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania may attend at no cost or obligation.
