BPA needs letters of support for grant opportunity

LISBON — Lisbon’s Board of Public Affairs is looking for expressed support to help facilitate funding opportunities for a planned water line extension project.

Plans call for a water line extension/loop project on Lisbon-Canfield Road to Vincent Lane to Adams Road and back south on state Route 45.

“We are still working on this water line extension,” BPA Chairman Bill Hoover said. “We need letters of support for the extension and to enhance our chances of getting a grant for the funding.”

Hoover is asking anyone who received a letter from the water department requesting support and is willing to do so to please reply by March 7. Questions concerning the request can be directed to the water department at 330-424-3541.

Hoover asked and received a letter of support for the project from the village council on Tuesday.

The line extension would be the latest in improvement to the village’s water service. Those upgrades and improvements include the new 150-foot, 500,000-gallon water tower, pumping station and lines intended to improve water pressure for Lisbon properties. Hoover said those completed projects were expected to benefit more than one-fourth of the homes and businesses in the village.

Starting at $2.99/week.
