East Ohio College School of Nursing holds pinning ceremony for graduates

CALCUTTA – On April 24 East Ohio College hosted its annual pinning ceremony for graduates of its nursing program.

The ceremony was held at the Beaver Local High School in East Liverpool, where 22 nursing program graduates and their loved ones attended to celebrate the culmination of their hard work and dedication to the nursing profession.

“We could not be prouder of our March 2026 Nursing graduating class at EOC. Their hard work has paid off, and we can’t wait to see where they go next! Congratulations to you all!” said Career Management Director Malana Malonson.

The significance of the nursing pinning ceremony dates back to Florence Nightingale, a historical figure in the nursing community. Nurses wear this pin as a symbol of their dedication, compassion, and professionalism as they transition from student nurses to professional nurses. They are usually pinned by a family member or loved one, making this a meaningful milestone in their careers.

East Ohio College is now accepting applications for its next nursing cohort, beginning in September 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to start the process early and can learn more by visiting eastohio.edu.

Starting at $2.99/week.
