The caterer served a meal of baked chicken thighs and legs, mashed potatoes with gravy, mixed carrots and broccoli, bread and butter, mixed vegetable salad with choice of dressing, water, iced tea and coffee, with a choice of apple or peach pie.
Stamp called the roll of members, with 18 being present and one guest. Stamp read the minutes of the April meeting and the minutes of the May board of directors meeting. There were no additions or corrections, and they were approved. Treasurer Bob Doyle Sr. gave the April financial report, which was approved as given.
Tom Sanor asked if there was a record of the club purchasing a 4-foot by 6-foot USA flag that is flown at the Woodsdale Cemetery. Buster Rogowsky has donated the last two. Homer Althouse made a motion that the club buy this flag in the future, Dennis McArthur made the second, motion passed. It must be a “made in America” and of material that can withstand the weather. Tom Sanor reported that Butler Township buys 12-inch by 18-inch USA flags and places one on each of the veterans’ grave each year, done by the Scouts May 25.
The guest for the night was Bryan Hays, current board member of the Columbiana County Soil & Water District. He thanked the club for continue support during the past years.
