SALEM — The Salem Community Theatre will present the classic musical “Oklahoma!” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Directed by Melissa Kuttler and featuring musical direction by Holly Hannah, this show promises to enchant audiences with its unforgettable melodies and heartwarming story.

The show’s return to the Salem Community Theatre stage is a momentous occasion, as “Oklahoma!” has not graced the theater since the 1980s. It tells the tale of romance and adventure in the Oklahoma Territory at the turn of the century. Set against a backdrop of sweeping landscapes and boundless dreams, the story follows the blossoming love between Curly McLain and Laurey Williams, while also exploring the rivalry between Curly and the menacing farmhand Jud Fry. With memorable songs like “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top” and “People Will Say We’re in Love,” the musical offers a blend of drama, humor and heart.

The Salem Community Theatre will collaborate with the musicians from the Samel Music Centre, who will be providing the enchanting sound of a live orchestra for this production. The cast includes Emily Huber as Laurey, Lucas Mitchell as Curly, Kat Durham as Aunt Eller, Tyler Alexander as Will Parker, Nicholas McGoogan as Jud Fry, Adriana Trafficante as Ado Annie, Connon Thompson as Ali Hakim, Kate Congo as Gertie Cummings and Scott Sparks as Andrew Carnes.

Tickets for “Oklahoma!” are available now and can be purchased online by visiting www.salemcommunitytheatre.org. The theatre is as always grateful for the generous donation of Bon and Linda Sebo for their sponsorship of the production, along with platinum sponsor Visiting Angels of Salem.

Starting at $2.99/week.
