Tickets on sale for National Peace Officers Memorial Service
SALEM–Tickets are on sale now for the annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service hosted by Fraternal Order of Police Quaker Lodge 88 at noon May 25, at the Timberlanes complex.
“This year we’re very excited to bring it back,” said Fraternal Order of Police Quaker Lodge 88 President Mike Garber.
The service which honors officers killed in the line of duty will be returning for the first time since 2019, after a necessary pause caused by the pandemic. This years’ service will honor all officers killed in the line of duty from 2020 through 2022.
“It’s something we have to do to honor our brothers and sisters that died in the line of duty. I’m not particularly happy with the number of line of duty deaths we’ve had, so I have mixed emotions, but it’s our duty to come together and honor our brother and sisters as best as we can,” said Garber.
This year’s guest speaker will be United States Secret Service Agent Blaine Forschen, and tickets will be $10 each and include a lunch buffet featuring: honey baked ham, chicken marsala, garlic red skin potatoes, corn, garden salad, bread sticks with butter, assorted pies, coffee and unsweetened iced tea.
