Semi-trailer strikes Columbiana Circle, smashes into law office
A semi-trailer traveling north-to-south on Main Street in Columbiana apparently went airborne after striking the circle roundabout before smashing into an office building. The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. The driver declined medical transport. There were no passengers. The flatbed trailer was empty.
Once striking the circle and just missing the landmark clock, the truck flew some 26 feet before gouging the pavement south of the circle, according to Columbiana Assistant Fire Chief Frank Nulf. The truck then struck the Roth Blair Law Offices at 11 S.Main St. The truck and building were extensively damaged. Bricks were dislodged from the circle. The Ohio Highway Patrol investigated the trailer before it was hauled away. Photos by J.D. Creer.
