Grand Jury

LISBON — Three drug defendants were served Monday with secret indictments issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury, including:

— Sheridan S. Taylor, 34, Madison Avenue, Salineville, fifth-degree felony possession of a fentanyl-related compound and third-degree felony illegal conveyance of a drug of abuse onto the grounds of a specified governmental facility for allegedly possessing fentanyl and trying to take drugs into a detention facility on Aug. 18, 2023.

— Joshua J. Fayak, 43, Steubenville, possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing cocaine on March 22, 2024.

— Christian Matthew Bell, 29, homeless, East Liverpool, third-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs and fifth-degree felony possession of cocaine for allegedly possessing cocaine and an amount of methamphetamine equal or greater than bulk but less than five times bulk on Feb. 6, 2025.

Municipal

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Nov. 3 for Leland X. Monte, 19, Independence Square, Wellsville, charged with fourth-degree felony aggravated assault for allegedly taking another man to the ground and striking him multiple times in the face after a fight in Wellsville on Oct. 14.

Drake A. Schmidt, 20, Wampum, Pa., was fined $250 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for impersonating a peace officer or private police officer. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service. Schmidt was accused of identifying himself to two different people as law enforcement on Oct. 17 in Salem. The police affidavit said he asked for a juvenile at a Salem residence and identified himself as a sheriff’s deputy/officer and gave a voluntary statement admitting to this.

A charge of domestic violence against Orlando Delvaughn Walker, 34, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, was dismissed. The court entry included a notation that said discovery was requested July 1, but the state did not attempt to ascertain the video until Oct. 21. By that time, the video had been destroyed. Walker had been accused of allegedly grabbing a woman by the hair and striking her in the face June 22 in East Liverpool.

Paris A. Hartsoe, 21, North Union, Alliance, was fined $300 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for two counts of disorderly conduct amended from assault and aggravated menacing. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Hartsoe was accused of grabbing a woman by the arms and tossing her to the floor on Aug. 7 in Perry Township, then running after another woman, taking her phone and yelling that he was going to beat her up.

Antonio D. Deleon, 31, Maple Heights, was fined $500 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 166 days suspended and credit for 14 days served, for assault. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service and to have no contact with the victim and witness. He was accused of striking a woman several times and attempting to strangle her on on Oct. 7 in Elkrun Township.

Todd J. Kniseley, 36, Cortland, was fined $400 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for engaging in prostitution, possessing criminal tools and obstructing official business. He was ordered to complete 25 hours community service and a prostitution prevention course. He was accused of requesting sexual conduct for an agreed upon price of $100 from an undercover agent with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force, driving to Salem on May 14 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession. According to an affidavit, he was a registered sex offender and federally convicted felon. When initially approached by police, he ran from the meeting location.

Brian Joseph Pence, 37, Berlin Center, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. Pence was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an education course. Pence responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with a woman in exchange for $200, then traveled to East Palestine on Jan. 15 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Jeremy A. Slobogian, 44, Saxonburgh, Pa., was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an education course. Slobogian was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with women in exchange for $260, then traveling to East Palestine on Feb. 22 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Prince Samuel Nelson, 28, Warren, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and an education course. Nelson was accused of responding to an undercover familial ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with the women in exchange for $140, then traveling to East Palestine on June 29 for the meeting with the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

Matthew Wayne Juillerat, 34, East Washington Street, Lisbon, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct amended from menacing. A charge of driving under suspension was dismissed. He was accused of sending threatening messages to a woman in Lisbon on Aug. 2 and was caught on foot walking toward her residence with an impact tool.

A pretrial was set Jan. 7 for Sarah Beja, 43, Riverside Avenue, Wellsville, charged with endangering children for allegedly being intoxicated and violating a duty of care for a child on Oct. 5 in Wellsville.

David James Bennett, 45, Moore Street, East Liverpool, was ordered to pay costs for a charge of discharge firearm for accidentally discharging his firearm in his apartment on Oct 2 in East Liverpool.

A charge of drug paraphernalia against Aubrey W. Trayvick III, 29, Petersburg, was dismissed after it was noted the defendant was indicted for a felony offense arising from the same facts. During a traffic stop on Feb. 19 in Columbiana, she was accused of possessing two $1 dollar bills rolled and coated with a white powder substance and possessing suspected cocaine. A charge of loud muffler was also dismissed.

Jordan Scheller, 24, South Elm Street, Columbiana, was fined $2,150 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, leaving a balance of two days to serve in jail for operating a vehicle impaired, marked lanes, physical control amended from OVI, failure to reinstate and reasonable control. Charges of speeding and two counts OVI were dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for two years and he was ordered to complete 80 hours community service.

Agustin Juanes Rojop, 26, Continental Drive, Salem, was fined $1,200 and sentenced to 45 days in jail, with credit for six days served, leaving a balance of 39 days still to serve in jail for two counts OVI and single counts of expired license, left of center, no license and open container. His driver’s license was suspended for two years.

Robert Allen Morris Jr., 40, Harvey Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $565 and sentenced to 90 days, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle impaired. Another OVI charge was dismissed. His driver’s license was suspended for one year with driving privileges granted and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Jan. 20 for Isac Edward Williamson, 19, Bandy Road, Alliance, charged with OVI first offense.

A pretrial was set Jan. 20 for John Vincent Edward Williams, 29, Youngstown, charged with speeding.

Wyatt Marvin Douglas Rockhold, 19, Duke Vodrey Road, East Liverpool, was fined $700 for no license, driving while texting and two counts of driving under suspension. A distracted driving course was completed.

Jason Allen Kane, 41, Erie Street, East Liverpool, was fined $750 and given a suspended 180-day jail term for driving under suspension. He was ordered to complete 50 hours community service.

Amanda M. Wilson, 40, Pritchard Avenue, Lisbon, was found not guilty of driving while texting, with court costs waived.

April R. Mathes, 39, McCann Road, Salem, was found not guilty of traffic control devices, with court costs taxed to the village of Lisbon.

Jessica Dawn Wade, 34, Macrum Street, East Liverpool, was found not guilty of driving under suspension, with court costs waived.

Mohan Kumar Gautam, 30, Harrisburg, Pa., was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from use of local streets in a no semi-truck zone.
