Grand Jury
LISBON — Stefany Nussbaumer, 34, Youngstown, was served Thursday with a secret indictment issued by the Columbiana County Grand Jury for fourth-degree felonies of telecommunications fraud and theft from a person in a protected class and misdemeanor misuse of credit cards for allegedly stealing $1,405 from an elderly woman and misusing a bank credit card from Oct. 28, 2023 to Nov. 3, 2023.

LISBON — A Massillon man who fled from police and possessed drugs was placed under community control for 24 months after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor charges.
Matthew Bowman, 46, entered the guilty plea to an amended charge of attempted aggravated possession of drugs and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. He was originally indicted for the failure to comply and a fifth-degree felony of aggravated possession of drugs.
As part of the community control, he was sentenced to 180 days at the county jail, but received credit for 11 days already served, with the remaining 169 days suspended.
The fleeing incident and possession of methamphetamine occurred on Aug. 7, 2023.

LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary hearing was set Jan. 9 for Robert Charles Johnson, 37, Jones Drive, Salem, charged with failure to verify change of address, a third-degree felony, for allegedly failing to notify the sheriff’s office that his address had changed when a deputy checked the property on Oct. 3 and learned he didn’t live there. As a registered sex offender, Johnson is required to register his address.
A pretrial was set Dec. 19 for Richard Ralph Vecchio, 62, Valley Drive, East Liverpool, charged with disorderly conduct-intoxication after East Liverpool police were called for an allegedly drunk person leaning against people’s cars, then waving people down and asking for a ride on Dec. 12. He was found lying face down on the sidewalk and was highly intoxicated.
A pretrial was set Dec. 19 for David Mercer, 55, Alliance, charged with falsification for allegedly lying about his address when he signed his sex offender registration on Sept. 13, 2021.
A pretrial was set Feb. 11 for Ashley Parker, 19, North Shady Lane, East Liverpool, charged with operating a vehicle impaired first offense, OVI breath first offense and a turn signal violation.
A pretrial was set March 20 for Chance Wooley, 20, U.S. Route 30, Hanoverton, charged with OVI first offense, loud exhaust and a windshield violation.
A pretrial was set Feb. 20 for Curtis Smith, 51, Youngstown, charged with driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set March 11 for Lana Judy, 82, Camp Boulevard, Hanoverton, charged with assured clear distance.
Brandon Rawson, 24, Wood Street, Wellsville, was fined $150 for no license and assured clear distance.
Jeimy Gimenes, 31, Canton, was fined $150 for no valid license and a stop sign violation.
