LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of forging a title and trying to steal a vehicle last year entered a guilty plea to all charges of the indictment in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, with sentencing set for Sept. 23.
William Weyand, 53, Laura Avenue, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree felonies of forgery, breaking and entering, theft, and attempted grand theft of a motor vehicle. Weyand allegedly forced trespass into an unoccupied structure to steal a vehicle title and forge the owner’s signature on Dec. 10, 2023 in Elkrun Township, in an attempt to steal the vehicle, a 2002 Chevy Avalanche.
Also in Common Pleas Court:
— Christopher Asher, 27, Market Street, Salineville, was placed under community control for three years and ordered to pay restitution of $1,500 for open burning or open dumping of solid waste, an unclassified felony. He was also fined $10,000, but the fine was suspended. Asher was accused of recklessly disposing of solid waste by open burning or open dumping and the offense involved scrap tires from March 2, 2021 to March 7, 2021.
— Larry Blakeley, 34, Follansbee, W.Va., pleaded guilty to open burning or open dumping of solid waste, an unclassified felony, with sentencing set for Aug. 30. Blakeley was accused of recklessly disposing of solid waste by open dumping in Columbiana County on March 28, 2021.
— Derrick Faulkner, 40, East Fourth Street, Salem, was placed under community control for three years for possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony for possessing alprazolam on April 9, 2022.
