LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, cases against Jarred Chestnut, 32, West California Avenue, Sebring, were bound over to the county grand jury for first-degree felony aggravated burglary, third-degree felony having weapons while under disability and misdemeanor aggravated menacing for allegedly trespassing in a Continental Drive, Salem apartment, threatening the resident with a handgun, grabbing him by the neck and chest and threatening to put him in a trunk and make him disappear on June 20.
An affidavit filed by a Salem police officer accused Chestnut of using stealth to trespass in the apartment by going to the back door after attempting to go into the front door and concealing himself from the camera. He allegedly showed the victim a handgun during the burglary and told the victim he would use it. Due to a previous felony conviction, Chestnut was prohibited from having a weapon.
A case against George L. Taylor, 45, state Route 14, East Palestine, was bound over to the county grand jury for fifth-degree felony domestic violence for allegedly pushing a kitchen table into a woman’s abdomen, knowing she was pregnant, on June 18 in Unity Township.
A case against Davon Mali Moats, 21, St. Clair Avenue, East Liverpool, was bound over to the county grand jury for third-degree felony failure to verify change of address for allegedly failing to notify the sheriff’s office as of June 25 that his address changed after vacating a condemned residence in East Liverpool, which as a registered sex offender he’s required to do.
A case against Theodore Cassinger, 46, state Route 45, Salem, was bound over to the county grand jury for fourth-degree felony having weapons while under disability for allegedly having firearms in his residence on May 4 despite being prohibited from having any firearms due to a previous conviction.
Billy Hin Chan, 41, Broadview Heights, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. A third-degree felony charge for tampering with evidence was dismissed related to allegedly deleting the message thread related to the meeting on his cell phone when approached by police. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Chan was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity in exchange for $80, then arriving in East Palestine on April 19 for the meeting.
A pretrial was set July 11 for Catherine Gregg, 26, Elyria, charged with escape, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, driving under suspension and failure to display valid sticker. During a traffic stop on July 1 in St. Clair Township, Gregg was allegedly requested several times to get out of the vehicle and to leave her belongings so a vehicle inventory could be done, but she exited still with a backpack on which had to be removed. She tried to pull away with the keys and resisted when being placed under arrest. Once inside the cruiser, she allegedly removed one of her hands from the handcuffs and was pulling on the cruiser car handle to open the door and break detention.
A pretrial was set Sept. 23 for Ledel Vason, 44, Continental Drive, Salem, charged with menacing for allegedly threatening another man during a verbal altercation in Salem on July 1 by telling him he something in his bedroom for him, with the victim believing he had a weapon and was going to cause physical harm.
Kristy Sue Dillard, 45, Commerce Street, Wellsville, was fined $450 and sentenced to 20 days in jail, with credit for 20 days served, for obstructing official business, resisting arrest and drug paraphernalia. During a traffic stop on Feb. 6 in East Liverpool, police noticed an abnormal bulge in the front of Dillard’s pants and when asked about it, she attempted to get back inside the vehicle after being detained and started resisting by pulling away. A large amount of drugs were found on the ground. She also had a cut straw with white residue in her clothing along with a fold with unknown powder inside.
Brian Stowers, 58, Annesley Road, East Liverpool, was fined $50 for disorderly conduct for fighting on July 30, 2023 in Liverpool Township.
Mark Foden, 54, Park Place Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $250 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspended, leaving five days to serve in jail for theft. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Foden stole a pair of work boots valued at $194 from Tractor Supply in St. Clair Township on May 5.
Angel Bosze, 38, Akron, was fined $250 and given a suspended 60-day jail term for complicity to aid/abet another. She was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Bosze was accused of aiding and abetting a man in committing a soliciting charge in East Palestine on April 14.
A pretrial was set Sept. 26 for Joseph Kee, 35, Gilson Road, Salem, charged with criminal trespass for allegedly entering a business through the employee only entrance and challenging the owner to a fight outside and refusing to leave on June 13 in Butler Township.
Sentencing was set July 22 for Elisha Murphy, 40, Pickering Street, East Liverpool, who pleaded no contest and was found guilty of criminal trespass for trespassing on the property of Renee Lewis in Lisbon on June 19 to work on the property next door after being told that contractors were not allowed on her property. He had been told by Lewis to move his scaffolding and not stay on her property to finish the work.
Shane Reed, 36, Wilbert Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $400 and sentenced to 15 days in jail, with credit for 15 days served, for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass. On May 17, Reed trespassed on the Woodland Hills, East Liverpool property after being served previously with a trespass notice. On May 26, East Liverpool police found Reed passed out with a crack pipe in his possession at Dollar Tree in East Liverpool and earlier he was walking about the city naked in bushes and trash cans, leading to the disorderly conduct charge.
Dustin Martin, 37, Youngstown, was fined $600 and sentenced to 10 days in jail, with credit for 10 days served, for violating a protection order, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving under suspension and a tail lights violation. Martin contacted a protected person by phone and made threatening statements on March 11 in Columbiana.
Justin Brinkley, 41, East Main Street, East Palestine, was fined $150 for failure to remove junk vehicles for having five junk vehicles on an East Palestine property on March 30, 2023.
Cameron Yarwood, 45, Randell Road, Hanoverton, was fined $150 and sentenced to 14 days in jail, with credit for 14 days served, for drug paraphernalia for possessing a bag for the storage of drugs in her pocket on May 13 in Salem.
Lindsey Smoot, no date of birth listed, Fairview Street, East Liverpool, was fined $500 each on three counts failure to pay city income tax and two counts failure to file city income tax return, with all but $50 of the fine suspended on the condition that she comply with the payment plan and timely file and pay all future taxes. Smoot was accused of failing to pay East Liverpool city income tax in 2019, 2020 and 2022 and failing to file East Liverpool city income tax returns in 2023 and 2024.
Dennis Dawson, 48, Wintersville, was fined $925 and sentenced to 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and marked lanes. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted. He was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
Brian Scott Davis, 52, Park Street, Leetonia, was fined $1,225 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, leaving a balance of 20 days to serve in jail, for OVI, marked lanes, endangering children and open container. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Davis was driving impaired with children in the vehicle on Sept. 23, 2023 in Unity Township.
Trent Yenges, 24, Darlington, Pa., was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for OVI and traffic control device. His driver’s license was suspended for one year, with driving privileges granted, and he was ordered to complete 40 hours community service.
Robert Krebs, 57, Spillway Road, Lisbon, was fined $925 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served in a driver intervention program, for physical control amended from OVI and failure to control. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.
Kyle Hunt, 27, state Route 45 South, Salem, was fined $160 for driving under suspension, speeding and no seat belt.
Calvin Gilliam, 38, Lancaster, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.
Andrew Mayfield, 27, Williams Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $150 for an equipment violation amended from speeding.
Sarah Ann Graham, 21, East Main Street, East Palestine, was fined $200 for driving under suspension and lighted lights, amended from driving under suspension.
Gary Hissom, 49, Erie Street, East Liverpool, was fined $25 for open container.
Justin Davis, 33, Miller Road, Lisbon, was fined $100 for two counts driving under suspension and given no fine for fictitious plates and a tail lights violation.
Donna Glacken, 36, East Fourth Street, Salem, was fined $150 for driving under suspension.
Lance Bishop, 18, Walnut Street, Rogers, was fined $50 for driving under suspension and received no fine for unsafe vehicle.
Harley Shields, 27, Ninth Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $330 for driving under suspension, no valid license, speeding and expired registration.
Nicholas West, 29, Foundry Hill Road, Hanoverton, was fined $100 for fictitious plates and driving under suspension.
A pretrial was set Sept. 26 for Parker Burt, 18, state Route 45, Lisbon, charged with speeding.
A pretrial was set Sept. 24 for Eric Shoemaker, 39, New Middletown, charged with driving in violation of driving restriction.
A pretrial was set Oct. 7 for Jesse Best, 27, Oakmont, Pa., charged with driving under suspension and speeding.
