LISBON — In Columbiana County Municipal Court, a preliminary/pretrial hearing was set July 11 for Christy Lynn Dawson, 45, Holliday Street, East Liverpool, charged with second-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly placing her hands around a man’s neck and applying pressure, causing him to have trouble breathing, on June 30 in East Liverpool.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set July 11 for Edward F. Pittman, 41, Granite Street, Salem, charged with fourth-degree felony theft and misdemeanors of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia and five counts of theft. During an incident on May 21 in Salem, he allegedly possessed a hollow metal pipe with burn marks and residue inside. Police had been called to the scene for a report of a man lying on the ground next to the open door of a truck. The truck was owned by his alleged employer who did not give him permission to take the truck. On May 10, he allegedly took multiple items from a woman’s garage where he was staying in Salem, including a grinder, which were pawned off at Cashland.

A preliminary hearing was set Aug. 1 for Charles D. Cross, 36, Gibsonia, Pa., charged with fourth-degree felony promote prostitution-transport across state lines for sex for hire and fifth-degree felony possession of criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website, advising he was an Uber driver and would transport the alleged female for sex dates at a reduced rate, for $35 a trip, profiting from the sex-for-hire industry, arriving in East Palestine on June 29 to pick up the alleged female. He was met by police and had the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession, along with food he was bringing the female.

A pretrial was set Aug. 29 for Michael David Malone, 34, Youngstown, charged with soliciting and possessing criminal tools for allegedly posting an ad offering sex acts and making arrangements to meet an undercover agent for sexual conduct in exchange for $100, arriving in Salem on June 28 for the meeting in the company of a 17-year-old male and in possession of the phone used to make the arrangements.

Steven B. Moore, 42, Ravenna, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. A charge of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course. Moore responded to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranged for sexual activity with an alleged female in exchange for $140, traveling to East Palestine on Aug. 4 for the meeting. He had the phone used to make the arrangements in his possession, along with several methamphetamine pipes, suspected meth, and a digital scale.

Justin Sami Amin Masri, 26, Youngstown, was fined $750 and given a suspended 90-day jail term for engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service and a 12-hour education course which was already complete. Masri was accused of responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with a female in exchange for cash through the Cash App, then traveling to East Palestine on Jan. 6 for the meeting with the cell phone used to make the arrangements in his possession.

A preliminary/pretrial hearing was set July 29 for John Soltysiak, 63, Goshen Road, Salem, charged with first-degree felony failure to verify change of address and misdemeanor falsification for allegedly failing to report a change in his address as required of a registered sex offender on June 18 and giving the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office a wrong address where he had not resided.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Robert Lee Yoho, 50, Moundsville, W.Va., charged with engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools for allegedly responding to an undercover ad on a known prostitution website and arranging for sexual activity with an alleged female in exchange for $140, then traveling to East Palestine on June 28 for the meeting with the cell phone he used to make the arrangements in his possession.

A pretrial was set July 18 for Ariel Durham, 35, state Route 45, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence, obstructing official business and resisting arrest. On June 30 in Lisbon, at the Frola Motel, Durham allegedly began throwing full bottles of pop and pizza at a man, punched a hole in the wall and knocked the bathroom door off of the hinges, then left. While police were there, she returned and allegedly ignored orders from officers to turn around and place her hands behind her back and then started pulling away from them while being handcuffed.

A pretrial was set July 18 for Matthew McCaslin, 37, West Washington Street, Lisbon, charged with domestic violence for allegedly throwing a woman to the ground, causing injuries to her face and arm on June 30 in Lisbon.

A pretrial was set July 18 for Matthew Berger, 46, King Road, Salem, charged with domestic violence for allegedly striking another man on the top of his head, causing injury, during a domestic on June 28 on state Route 9, Butler Township.

Robert Thomas Bishop, 27, New Philadelphia, was fined $500 and sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended and credit for three days served, for falsification. He was ordered to complete 20 hours community service. Bishop was accused of falsely claiming that another man had a handgun and threatened to kill him at an East Palestine residence on April 2, then followed him to McDonald’s. A check of the surveillance cameras downtown proved the claim was false and Bishop admitted to the claim being false.

Maeggan Hawk, 48, state Route 45, Lisbon, was fined $100 for disorderly conduct, amended from domestic violence, for punching and slapping a man several times during a domestic on Feb. 14 in Madison Township.

A pretrial was set Sept. 3 for Kayla Grooms, 23, last known address Park Avenue, Salem, charged with failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and driving under suspension for allegedly fleeing from police attempting a traffic stop on June 28 in Salem.

A pretrial was set Sept. 30 for Brandi Raulerson, 35, Newell, W.Va., charged with falsification, two counts drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension and unsafe vehicle. Raulerson was accused of giving a false name during a traffic stop on June 28 in St. Clair Township and also possessed a cut straw with white power residue. During a traffic stop Sept. 20, 2023, she allegedly possessed a cut straw, baggy with residue, a scale and a burnt glass pipe.

James Artrup, 35, Youngstown, was fined $150 and given a suspended 30-day jail term for drug paraphernalia for possessing two glass pipes with suspected burnt methamphetamine residue inside during a traffic stop on March 29 in Columbiana.

Jeffrey Burgos II, 33, East Sixth Street, Salem, was fined $1,600 and sentenced to 93 days in jail, with 87 days suspended, leaving a balance of six days to serve in jail for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs first offense, amended from third offense due to evidentiary issues, along with a tail lights violation and three counts of driving under suspension. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Sept. 19 for Shianna Mathes, 20, Benton Road, Salem, charged with OVI first offense, operating while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and left of center.

Steven Michael Faulkner, 39, Metz Road, Columbiana, was fined $1,525 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended, leaving a balance of six days to serve in jail, for OVI, left of center, reasonable control and two counts driving under suspension. His driver’s license was suspended for one year and he was ordered to complete 20 hours community service.

A pretrial was set Sept. 17 for Aaron Thompson, 33, Carter Road, New Waterford, charged with driving under suspension.

A pretrial was set Sept. 5 for Ryan Gray, 35, Georgetown, Pa., charged with driving under suspension and loud exhaust.

A pretrial was set Sept. 19 for Danielle Lucas, 40, New Cumberland, W.Va., charged with speeding.

A pretrial was set July 25 for Timberlynn Davis, 26, Akron, charged with driving under suspension.

Mathew Whitman, 23, New Middletown, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Angela Walsh, 43, Lacroft Avenue, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for driving under suspension.

Stefanie Morgan, 37, Youngstown, was fined $125 for driving under suspension and improper/expired registration.

Corey Steven Wilson, 29, Denver Street, East Liverpool, was fined $100 for driving while texting.

Phillip Devine, 34, Monroe Avenue, Salem, was fined $50 for unsafe vehicle, amended from reasonable control.

Kayla Satava, 21, Uniontown, was fined $50 for speeding.

Terry Musser, 53, Salem Grange Road, Salem, was fined $35 for speeding.
