LISBON — An East Liverpool man accused of punching another man after an argument over property lines was sentenced to prison for at least three years for felonious assault, a second-degree felony, along with drug charges.

Bryan Jeffries, 35, Cannons Mill Road, pleaded guilty to the felonious assault charge and a fifth-degree felony aggravated possession of drugs charge in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court, where he was sentenced immediately.

The sentence was two to three years for the felonious assault, with at least two years in prison and a possibility of a third year if state corrections officials feel a longer term is warranted. That term was ordered served consecutive to the sentences from the drug charge and a probation violation for a drug charge.

He was sentenced to 10 months for the aggravated possession of drugs charge for possessing methamphetamine on July 27, 2022. He was also sentenced to 12 months in prison for violating his probation for a third-degree felony of aggravated possession of drugs with a forfeiture specification for possessing methamphetamine and the money on April 30, 2021. Those terms were ordered served at the same time, but in addition to the prison term for felonious assault.

He received credit for 216 days served in jail.

Jeffries was accused of punching a man, then getting on top of him and repeatedly punching him in the face and head after an argument about property lines on Dec. 7, 2023 in Liverpool Township.

Also in Common Pleas Court:

— Courtney Orr, 33, state Route 45, Leetonia, was ordered evaluated by the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio for competency and sanity at the time of the offense. She was indicted earlier this year for third-degree felony strangulation and misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly grabbing a female relative’s arms and shoulders and placing her hands around her throat and pushing her during an altercation April 3 in Salineville, causing the victim to have trouble breathing and to fear for her life and safety. A status hearing was set for Aug. 16.

— Michael Miller, 29, Freeman Road, Lisbon, was ordered to serve 30 days in the county jail for violating his probation for domestic violence, a misdemeanor, for attempting to harm a woman on Aug. 5, 2021. The charge was originally a fifth-degree felony.

— Colleen Murray, 44, Youngstown, was placed under community control for 24 months for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on April 4, 2023.

— Miranda Little, 39, Youngstown, pleaded no contest and was found guilty of theft, a fifth-degree felony lesser included offense for receiving stolen property, with sentencing set for July 19. A charge of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Little was accused of possessing a burnt glass pipe and a stolen firearm during a traffic stop on Sept. 2, 2023 in St. Clair Township.
